Can't even say how well this holds purses as I'm unable to keep it in my closet. This product smells so bad, I even took it to my drycleaner in the hopes they could get the smell out. No such luck! Save your money and your nose.

One side features velcro-style loops, and the other has loops with snaps. I use both sides for bags and purses, and the loops on both sides are more than strong enough for that. This is a really efficient and smart way to store purses! I never have to dig around on the closet floor any more! Well, not for a purse, at least.

I ended up hanging two purses on each strap and at least two scarves per strap on the other side, and the Velcro has held up well. It is of decent design, keeps my purses somewhat organized and hanging up, though having purses of different lengths makes it a bit more difficult.
