The idea is great. However, the locker needs to be the exact measurement of the shelf. The shelf derives its strength from being held up by the sides of the locker. If the locker is just a touch too big, the shelf won't stand on its own.

We tried several locker shelves for my son's locker. His locker does not have a flat bottom so the collapsable shelves would slide down and fold up and the ones that use pressure always broke. This one keeps its shape and works great!

This locker shelf is solid and fits well. With one additional shelf it would be perfect. I added a piece of plywood to create a 3rd shelf as the slot is already there.
