Rubbermaid 3E28 Configurations 3 Shelf Hanging Unit, Maple

I ordered two of these to compliment the wire of the configurations system. It went together easily and seems pretty well made for a pressed board item. It looks nice over the two drawer unit and helps add to the finished look of the closet. I use one to hold folded sweaters in the department store display fashion and on the other I have a few personal trinkets just for decorating the closet rather than for storage. The rubbermaid systems have added enough space to my closet that I actually can have a shelf just for decorating. I agree with another reviewer on one of these threads...the closet is one of the first things you see in the morning so why not have a pleasant look when you go in. Now to find an inexpensive full length mirror and the department store displays will have nothing on me :o)

This item was very easy to assemble. I did not even have to look at the directions. I had all the necessary hardware and only needed a screwdriver. The holes are all pre-drilled so assembly was very quick. I hung it on already existing extensions (this does not come with extensions). I have a 7' x 8' room in Afghanistan and this works perfectly for me. I also have the Rubbermaid 2-drawer hanging unit which compliments this shelf unit nicely. It is good for the price.

I bought four of this item so I can complete my walk-in closet. They were delivered promptly and it was very easy to assemble. The only bad side is that it is very fragile, you can't put any heavy stuff over or in it, you cannot exercise too much preasure or the hardboard will break. The other bad side is that I had to buy extensions separetly so I can fis them to the walls...I think it should have been provided in the box... and the sipping of the extension is a ripp off : a single tiny long piece of metal in a very large box that could contain 20 of those pieces... WHY ????? ?????

I planned to use this shelf in my new Configurations Closet System to hold sweaters. As soon as I added the second sweater the entire shelf came crashing down. I picked up the unit and noticed that the bracket had detached one one side, and the particle wood was in spinters. The unit is useless.
