I purchased these because I needed an adjustable shelving system for my pantry that would hold a heavy load. These brackets don't have the customary "lip" at the tip, which allows the shelf to extend beyond the end of the bracket. These look great, and are very heavy duty. If you view them from the bottom, they are actually U-shaped, or double the steel, providing an extremely rigid bracket with 6 connection tabs.
