Casual Metal Bookcase

After buying a real oak glass-enclosed bookcase for $1100 a long time ago, I decided later that there are better ways to spend this kind of money than on something that simply holds my books in place. I bought two of these, one for DVD's/VHS' and one for books and they are great. The best thing about them is that it's very easy to assemble; hard to mess up, and even if you do, you can easily take everything apart again. This is in contrast to certain other non-assembled items that have permanent screws which don't come out once you put them in. Unless you are making six figures and have a great house with top of the line furniture, don't bother with any other bookcase.

Easy to assemble, lightweight to move but very sturdy, good small size for tucking into an unused spot (small bedroom hallway in my case). Unobtrusive as far as decor. Just put heavier items on the bottom shelf so it won't tip over!

Because the Amazon price was so low, I wasn't expecting top quality but this is one well-designed product. It was super easy to assemble, is lightweight yet sturdy and looks pretty good as well. For the price, this was a real bargain.

The bookcase was easily assembled. It is not bulky. All of the space occupied by the bookcase is essentially available for book storage. I resisted saying "I love it." Even though it is highly functional at the five star level and well worth the cost, it is not a showpiece.
