Love these bookcases, they are very steady with lots of heavy books on them, even on carpet. Love how they will blend with many types of decor and will stand the test of time. Additionally, if in the future one would want a bit of a change in the look of these shelves, the curvy X design on the sides look like they could easily be perhaps removed without affecting the structural durability at all, and a different decorative design could be put in their places.
