FURINNO PASiR 3x2 Column Shelf with 3-Door Round Handle, 11189

FURINNO 3-Tier Bookcase Storage Shelves Cabinet with 3 Door/Round Handle , Steam BeechI love this bookcase. There are NO fumes or chemical smells when you first open it. It is small, so make sure you read the measurements given in this product's listing, plus view the provided photo of the bookcase with the measurements labeled (you can find the photo in the product photos section). With that info, measure anything you plan to place inside of it *before* purchasing. This way, you'll know what you can and can't fit in it. It'll fit most books up to about 9.5" tall.

The listing says "some assembly required", but in actually, it's full assembly required. It took me a good 2 hours to put it all together, but that was because I made a few mistakes along the way. It's all good, I managed to get it all assembled and it looks great in my tiny apartment. A little bit of patience is all you need when putting it together. Don't do it when you're stressed out or are in a hurry.

The door handles are very cheap plastic, but what do you expect from a $35 bookcase? All in all, a great product! Just be sure to do your homework and take the proper measurements before buying!

This product arrived just as pictured. It is a very fun and small bookcase with 3 doors. It is fragile so be careful putting it together. Look the pieces over carefully before you start to assemble and look the directions over carefully too. I like it because you can also put baskets in the compartments that don't have doors on them. Perfect for what I wanted it for: folding T-shirts into it, that way they're all in one place. If I had the space, I'd also buy the other Furrino product I saw on Amazon as a companion to this one.

Overall, I totally love this shelf. I'm a pretty motivated do-it-myself-er, & this assembly was tricky but not totally impossible. Definitely do it when you have time and patience. It requires a lot of both. Overall though, for the price -what a steal! The shelves look wonderful! The size is great, too. 31.5" height & other measurements were dead-on.

Instructions are mostly in Chinese, but just look at the pictures, which are labeled in English. There's no helpful narrative in English in the instructions. Pictures only. If you struggle, follow these instructions (because it's pretty tricky):

Assembly was surprisingly time consuming. Lay out the pieces. Each piece is stamped with a Red letter (A through G, I think). A few of the pieces are 1-of-a-kind letters, even though they look the same size as other pieces. Use the SCREWS to hold horizontal shelves in place from outside of each side, into the bottom of the horizontal shelves. Use the DOWELS (little wood pieces) to hold the middle shelves in place. Use the BLACK PLASTIC CYLINDERS to hold the swinging doors in place. The DOWELS & BLACK CYLINDERS fit into pre-drilled holes IF you line the shelves up right.

START Assembly with the bottom piece. Add both Vertical sides by putting the screws into the side of the 1st horizontal shelf from the side, through pre-drilled hopes. (Always PAY ATTENTION TO THE PRE-DRILLED HOLES on all pieces BEFORE adding the next piece!) You must line the holes up with where the middle dividers, the magnets (purple plastic/metal), & swinging door hinges (black plastic cylinders) will end up going.

On the inside of the 3 doors, there's a single hole for the flat philips screw. That is what sticks to the magnet to hold the cabinet door closed. Make sure the magnet holes line up with the magnet. They can go on the top or maybe the bottom, but you've got to pick top or bottom for all 3 magnets & all 3 doors. Mine ended up on the top, inside each door. They're working just fine & staying in place w/ no problem.

Now, BEFORE YOU ADD THE 2ND VERTICAL SIDE to the 2nd horizontal shelf, make sure to add the middle divider, then the 3nd horizontal shelf, & the swinging door. Once that stuff is in place, screw the 2nd side of the 2nd horizontal shelf into place. The order of assembly in this regard it important otherwise the items held in place by tension only will NOT fit & you'll have to take the screws out of 1 side in order to make the tension-only middle divider & swinging door items fit.

It may seem out of order, but if you screw both sides into each horizontal shelf, then you can't move the horizontal shelf up or down (a little bit) to add/squeeze-in the middle divider (held in place only by dowels & tension) or the swinging door (held only in place by black plastic cylinders & tension)!

I made this mistake a couple times. I also failed to line up the pre-drilled holes w/ the magnets & swinging doors a couple times. These mistakes caused me to take some side screws out & flip & switch the horizontal shelves so the holes would line up for the swinging door corners & magnet holes. Hope this saves you time.

The back is a single piece. It unfolds and will be nailed to the edges of the backside at the end. This is the only piece you use the nails for!! Make sure the finished side faces front (so you see it through the open shelves from the front).

Put plastic door knobs on last so you don't break them while nailing-in the back piece.

Don't throw the pieces around during assembly. They finish is scraped off fairly easily.

The cabinet is flimsy built, made from very thin half inch material. Laminate was scratched right from the box. It was difficult to assemble, took more than an hour. The handles are cheap plastic; I have spent another $12 to buy decent handles. Does not serve the advertised purpose as a bookcase storage...The only use would be toy storage for kids, but I would not place it kids room because of sharp corners.

Would not recommend it, buy something else for the money.

The good: It's a nice, pretty cute shelf, and spacious without wasting floor space. It's easy to assemble.

The bad: It is not well packaged; the laminated veneer was outright cracked and peeling on the edge of one piece, and all over it shows signs of wear. In the box it is packaged merely as a bundle of boards with some foam corners; there is no protective layering between the boards. In all I'd say this is like an IKEA product in quality and assembly, but with less care in both (however, it claims to be made of recycled material, which IKEA does not). The instructions, unforgivably, are 100% Chinese whose only English characters are numerals, labels (A-H) on the different pieces, and the abbreviation "pcs" (pieces). Fortunately the pictures are good enough to follow. The packed-in screws and other parts are unfortunately also packed in with three magnets to hold the doors shut, and thus are globbed into a ball that requires an unusual amount of picking apart before use. Considering that the doorknobs themselves are separated out into an isolated baggie, I think they could have done the same for the latches. The doorknobs look okay but are visibly cheap plastic.

I settled on 3 stars because although the complaints are numerous, the only really deadly one is the shipping damage, which was fairly minor and only on one of my two orders. The rest are annoying, but not detrimental to the product itself.
