Furinno 99132LC/BK 5-Tier Corner Square Rack Display Shelf, Light Cherry

At first, I was a bit unsure of buying this, since it had no reviews, but after getting and assembling it I have no regrets. It is pretty simple to build, pretty much just screwing the plastic tubes together with the wooden shelves between them. It didn't take long to do either, maybe 15 minutes or so. The only hard part is hammering the caps in the top shelf, but you can just skip it and set the top directly on the pole (just easy to lift off the top but shouldn't fall down).

As for use, it works perfectly. It seems very stable and isn't too heavy (so easy enough to move when needed but I wouldn't balance too much weight to one side). The space between the shelves is about 13 inches and the listed measurements for dimensions are spot on.

So overalleasy assembly, easy to move, low price ($25 with super saver shipping atm), nice design, and a good amount of room. What is not to like?

First up for those politically minded, this is NOT from China, but Malaysia.

I would have preferred a lighter color (like the 99152 set they make) but it's as described. The chipboard/particle board construction is typical for this grade of furniture. The tubes are cheap plastic, but sturdy enough as long as you don't try to overload the whole thing. You can cram it full of paperback books and it'll hold up.

Instructions are decent enough pictographs, with typical "Engrish": "hamber" instead of hammer for instance. I didn't need a hammer, I just gently placed the "caps" in place and stepped on top of the board to ease it in. A little "heel bounce" and they popped in fine, no tools needed.

The laminate is also typical. 5 of 6 sides covered, but the shelf bottoms are unfortunately not also laminated. There's a slight overlap on one "edge" of the shelves. Not very noticable, but make sure to put them all at the "back" of the shelf for best viewing. Not necessary, it's minor, but worth noting ahead of time. You CAN unscrew the poles and repack it if needed. You CAN assemble it with just 1/2/3 shelves in place. You can NOT make 2 smaller shelves though, not even 2 cubes, unless you add extra material from somewhere else.

As another review notes, the top shelf isn't designed to screw in the "right" way. You can just put it on top and the recess will hold it in place well enough. What you are supposed to do though, is assemble the whole thing, then counter screw the poles into the top, then tighten the other poles "up" to the top shelf.

For one and a quarter "Andrew Jacksons", it's the best you'll find in a new shelf.

There was a small empty space between the door and TV set (flat screen) in my bedroom just too small to put anything there...well, I was wrong! Since this bookcase took that spot, it became the most handy & useful area!! My night light, Roku, a cell power station, books and an alarm clock (forcing myself to get up and walk toward the door for stopping the alarm in the morning).

My salt rock night light is quite big & heavy but this bookcase has no problem. Very steady!! Don't underestimate this unbelievable low price bookcase.

The shelves look nice assembled, as shown in the photos, but there is a minor problem. The black posts are to be screwed together in a nut-and-bolt fashion between the shelves, but the threads in the pieces to be hammered into the top shelf are the wrong direction so that it could not be put together properly. We decided to not put the pieces into the top shelf in order to make it work, so the top shelf is sitting on the posts rather than being held securely. Other than that problem, the product arrived quickly and in good condition laminated particle board and black plastic posts; no scratches, etc.
