These grids are amazing as rabbit cages (or guinea pigs, etc.). You can make large indoor areas for your rabbits and it is flexible so it can fit into probably any home. I have my 2 rabbits in a pen make from these grids and they love it. It was cheap and larger than anything from a petstore. I am looking to get more as I get ready to purchase a baby FLEMISH GIANT!

This all being said I will note that the plastic connectors aren't worth the time people put into making them! You have to get those plastic cable ties to put them together and then everything works GREAT!

I am an artist & comic book creator who goes to different conventions throughout the year. I bought these cubes because I saw other exhibitors using them for shelving and displays on their tables, and I couldn't be happier with the results. They pack flat and are relatively easy to put together (you need to push the flat pieces firmly into the connectors until you hear a popping sound), and are pretty sturdy once put together. I've used them for adding level shelves to the top of my table, as well as for a stand to hold up a banner behind the table. My only issue with them is that they are somewhat heavy, so they add a lot when stuffed in a suitcase for flying; something to consider for those without enough stuff to ship to a convention ahead of time. I can also see how they wouldn't be the best choice for someone who is looking for a permanent furniture fixture, even if it's just for the length of a year in a dorm (the only reason I gave it 4 stars, since that's it's advertised purpose). But for instances where you want quick set-up and tear down for conventions and trade shows, they are a god-send and extremely flexible in display and function.

I have these cubes in my closet and I like them. It's nice that they disassemble and store flat for moving. I did find that although they do go together with the connectors, I used those plastic zip ties to reinforce the junctions. I don't know if I'd store books like the previous reviewer did, but for most standard closet junk they work just fine. I've never had them fall apart and I've stuffed them with clothing, shoes, boots, and towels. Easy to configure them to fit your space too I have some unconventional vertical spaces that I squeezed them into and they work just fine.

These grids are great for easy assembly guinea pig cages. Forget about the tiny ones marked "large" in the pet stores. Guinea pigs need room to run and play and jump (popcorn). To find out more about building your own just google C & C guinea pig cages. For a base most people use coroplasta sheet of corrugated plastic bought from a sign shop. If you google making a C & C cage you'll find instructionit is easy.

The cheapest grids like these I have found are at Bed Bath and Beyond. They send out 20% off coupons regularly and with that discount the grids cost about $16 for a box. It's wise to buy cable tieszip ties too because the connectors that come with these do not always hold together in the way you want. You can also attach ramps with cable ties very easily.

We use a fleece bedding system and the guinea pigs are litter box trained so it all stays quite clean and manageable. People have different preferences. My choice is to buy reusable cloth waterproof hospital mattress pads from an on line hospital supply company as my bottom layer. This layer is very absobant. The layer on topis fleece. You can find fleece blankets at places like Savers very cheap or buy yardage from a fabric store.

If you buy a large enough piece after you lay down your mattress pad layer on top of your coroplast cage bottom (which is surrounded on the outside by the fence of these grids) and actually tuck it over and under. This way the guinea pigs will not burrow. I'd suggest getting enough grids to make a 2 x 4 or 5 grid cageno bottom or top are needed if placed on the floor or a very large table.

Even better is to use more grids and connectors/ cable ties to make a bottom and base for storage underneath. This raises the cage off the floor and brings it to a great height securely. You can find lots of examples online.

For 1-2 guinea pigs you'll need to make a 4 or 5 grid by 2 grid cage. For 3 or 4 pigs you'll want at least 5 or 6 grids long by 2. I suggest not going wider than 2 grids so you can catch you guinea pigs easily and also for ease in cleaning and maintaining the cage.

Ramps and lofts/ upper levels are tempting (changing the cage around and adding additions is fun) and can be nice if you have a big enough cage, but they actually make it harder to maintain and most guinea pigs stay below most of the time and the ramps take away from their lower level floor space.
