I ordered this shelf but decided it was too large. I did not take it out of its original packaging...but the company charged me a 15% restocking fee plus return shipping. I would not order from them again unless I was absolutely positive I would keep the item.

Wish I could get my money back on this one. I assembled the shelf and was in the process of mounting it when it literally fell apart screws were so snug that the piece they were supposed to be holding in decided it had enough.

I received this as a Christmas present from my sister. I was able to assemble it together, but had my husband help me put it up on the wall since it is a little flimsy. This product looks great and fit in well with the little space I had to put it in. It was hard to line up some of the screws, making it annoying to put together. It would be better if the shelves were closed/flat instead of barred because smaller items fall through or just don't sit right (the way that a 20 oz. soda bottle sits in a refrigerator), but I knew the shelves were made that way, so I can't fault it for that. Other than that, this item was perfect. A little trip to a major hardware supply store can remedy the shelf situation without breaking the bank.
I liked the idea of having your shoes on a shelf, slanted so you can view them. However, the front lip of the shelf isn't deep enough and my husband's shoes barely stay on the shelf. They really don't hold much and if I did it again, I would skip these.

The shoe shelves were a great add on to my closet set. I am extremely pleased with the whole Configurations line, and the shoe shelves work equally well as shoe racks, or as top shelf tilt storage for purses or something can be difficult to access on a top shelf. I picked up one, then immediately ordered a second once installed.
I was disappointed that you can't find a lot of online reviews for this product so I felt I had to post my own. I bought the Honey Oak finish, which is the same style and build as the Espresso. I dealt with the company direct and was able to get a color sample, a 4"x6" piece of the wood, sent to my home to see if it matched my bedroom furniture. It was almost a perfect match so I called Evan and placed my order. I bought the cabinet, along with the IR repeater, which is a sensor that allows you to store your cable/satelitte receiver inside the cabinet while still being able to control it with your remote. The repeater has two sensors which allows you to hook up a dvd or Blu ray player as well but putting these units in the cabinet do not make sense as you still would have to load discs. The repeater wires are long enough to allow you to store the dvd/blu ray player under the foot of your bed which is what I was going to do. I then realized I could run my HDMI cable under the rug and behind my armoire and have my Oppo BDP-93 Blu Ray player out in the open where it looks fine. As a result, I don't need the second repeater sensor as I have an unobstructed line of sight to the player.
We bought 3 of these for the basement storage area and they fit perfectly. We were able to put these together in less than an hour after we got the hang of it. They are very sturdy and hold a lot.
After much consideration, I decided to try this shoe tree for a vertical space in my entry way. I have way too many shoes, and my 3 sons and husband each have 3 or 4 pairs they like to keep by the door as well. I did not want a storage unit for the closet since it's a small space and already full. And an over-the-door shoe hanger wasn't an option for this space either.

Great idea, but make sure you have the correct measurement for your closet floor-ceiling. I was off on mine, but I made a fix by setting the base atop something else to close the gap. However the bigger issue was as is usual nowadays the screw (basic hardware application to assemble the base) was too thin to tighten in the base, so a visit to the hardware store, carrying the assembly rod with me. (I have this problem so routinely on items I have to assembly, I asked the hardware store guy why this is such an issue and he said that when it comes to customer assembly items it is routine for workers to just fill the package by grabbing whatever is on the shelf.) The purchased screw fit fine but then the washer was off, so we had to go hunting for stuff to make do. Not the prettiest looking as the shoes are held with the bottoms out but it does hold securely the amount of shoes advertised using very little floor space. Sturdier then I expected for the price.
