Ever Concept 6-Tier Rolling Storage Cart

I bought this to replace a jelly cupboard that stored our pantry items when I realized we needed storage with better air circulation. (The jelly cupboard was positioned directly against the fridge, and condensation started dripping inside it.)

The assembly is simple enough to do without even looking at the instructions, as I have put together about 15 similarly designed shelving units. The manufacturer even supplies 6 spare plastic sleeves, which is great because the plastic is easily breakable. But I did encounter something with this unit more often than in any of the other units. These plastic sleeves would slip off or down extremely easily when I tried to put each shelf on. But once in place, they are very secure.

These shelving units are super strong and you can easily change the shelf heights as needed. Just take note that each shelf has about a 1-inch high outer rim all around it. This might preclude you from storing, say, books wider than the usable shelf depth of just about 9.75 inches.

The wheels* do not have to be used; 4 leveling feet are provided and can be substituted instead. But since I move furniture around almost weekly, I opted for the wheels. Plus, I can roll it aside to vacuum well, theoretically that is, as I don't do this sort of thing as often as I should. But good to know!

* Top heavy? Yes, this unit can become wobbly from being top-heavy. If you DO use the wheels, make sure each wheel is pointed outward from the base. Doing so will reduce _but not entirely eliminate_ the instability. Whether or not the wheels are used, make sure the bottom shelf holds heavy items.

I have another one of these but from a catalog. This one isn't as good, but I have no problem with it. I'd likely buy another one if the need arose. It rolls ok, is sturdy enough for my purposes, (canned goods) and is a great size. The finish isn't as smooth and there's no handle like in the one from the catalog for $20 more. Maybe the finish won't last as long, I don't know, time will tell. For now, I am happy with my purchase.

I think this will work out well once I receive a set with both the upper rods and lower rods. The upper rods need a male end to properly screw into the female end of the lower rods but my package had 8 female rods so I was unable to assemble it. The package arrived earlier than expected (yippee!) but I was unhappy to discover that the people packing the shelves had put 4 female rods in the upper rod carton and had capped them off, even though female to female ends won't work. My goal was to have a tall, narrow pull-out shelving unit on wheels to make my pantry more accessible (avoid losing those seldom-used foodstuffs tucked way, way in back) and to be able to easily clean the floor. It's not Amazon's fault that the manufacturer shipped incorrect parts, but it's dreadfully inconvenient to attempt to repackage it in the carton and to haul it to the PO and mail it out, awaiting a refund and replacement. It would have been much simpler to mail back the 4 incorrect rods and to receive 4 replacement upper rods. (Simpler and less costly, too.) The other issue I'm having is that the plastic "wrappers" which surround the rods and provide support for the shelves are not holding well. I have assembled probably 5 of this type of shelving and have never had bad luck with all the plastic spacers, so I'm hoping the replacement fits together better.

We have ordered lots of wire shelving from Amazon and purchased in stores and have always been happy with how well made and handy it is. We never had this particular brand before but it had just the right measurements for a tight space plus wheels.

When we unpacked it there were NO wheels in the box! Even worse one of the shelves was bent, there was a broken weld and the shelves were not correct and would have forced us to put them on upside down!

My husband and I have put together lots of these types of units so its not like we didn't know how. The entire thing was very shoddy and instead of one long sturdy bar it was several that needed to be fitted together.

We were lucky it was sold through Amazon, they sent a call tag for the item and UPS picked up the heavy box today. I had to write this review to warn others there is a chance you might have the same experience. I hope not because it was disapointing and now we are out a set of shelves. We asked for a refund because I can't take another chance of poor quality control. Thanks to Amazon for making the return painless, they are great!

I have to admit, I trolled the internet to find another cart so I wouldn't have to buy this one because of the poor reviews regarding pieces missing, bent etc. Well, I failed to find one so I held my nose and bought it. It came wholly complete and in excellent condition. It came together in about half an hour (I put two larger ones together the same week and this one was a cinch because it was so small in comparison).

I have a small kitchen and this now holds my cookbooks, glasses (I don't entirely trust the grates to hold glasses sturdily so I'm looking for some thick plastic to put down so for now I have 9" bungees that I use to tie off my pants when I bike, well these do quite well to hold everything in). I'm really pleased I took a chance on this product and I would highly recommend it to other people.

Sonax TR-7608 Torino 60-Inch TV/Component Bench in Florence Maple

The Sonex Model TR-7608 is a reasonably well designed and built TV stand. The construction is of particle board covered with high quality laminate. Although manufactured in Canada, it reminds me of the common "Danish" furniture which often has teak veneer. All of the wood is cut properly and the holes are drilled properly.

-It is important that the tapered legs be installed with the taper out to the side of the stand. If you mount a leg on the wrong end, it will taper into the area where a glass door goes. You cannot mount or use the doors if you mount the legs in the wrong position.

-The parts are labeled with letters in the pictures, but not on the parts themselves. It would be useful if some of the similar actual pieces were lettered. Pay careful attention to the holes and the placement thereof on the parts so as not to get them mixed up.

-I give the instruction pictures and order for assembly a 5 minus, but give the words in the instructions only a 3. There needs to be a blowup picture of the mounting of the slides for the drawers. Each wheel is mounted down and flush with the outside of the stand. On each drawer itself, there is a useful adjustment screw on each side.

-I found it best to mount only one hinge on each glass door before installing it in the cabinet. After installing one hinge on a glass, place the unmounted hinge in the hole in the stand, place the mounted hinge in the other hole, then slide the other end of the glass into the second hinge and tighten. It is easier to do with two people.

-There are two hidden legs in the center of the stand, but they are not quite long enough to support the stand with a big TV on it. A big TV causes the stand to sag. This could be solved with some sort of a spacer, such as a rubber furniture leg pad.

-Installing my components was no problem.

-I was going to give the stand an overall 3 rating but have raised it to a 4 based on a recent price reduction.

The design of this entertainment center is completely flawed. Pre-drilled holes are incorrectly placed, leaving a loose fitting top piece and cockeyed drawers. The placement of the legs and their upper width leave you unable to use the glass doors unless you are ok with only being able to open them an inch or two.

Unfortunately, when I first ordered this product there were no reviews available. Shortly after it arrived (and before I had opened it) a negative review was posted detailing the difficulties with assembly. I contacted the company (not Amazon unfortunately) to make arrangements to return it. They were difficult to work with, and extremley expensive to return items to. I am now the not-so-proud owner of a piece of Cymax crap.

Good grief! Where do I begin? This is most flawed design for an AV cabinet anywhere. The unit although easily assembled, looks nothing like an AV cabinet. It's more like a large livingroom cocktail table with storage. As a matter of fact, it's just slightly taller than a coffee table. It's exceptionally heavy (109lbs packaged), and it looks fairly nice, but not as pictured.

Now for the good stuff (sarcastically speaking).

1) There is a major design flaw in this thing. The intructions direct you to install dowels (wooden pegs) to sablize the top. Well, when I attempted to do so, the insertion holes on the underside of the top are a full 3.5 inches off! WTF???? Nevertheless, the top stays securely fastened without them.

2) Next, there is the case of the glass doors. There is no way they can be installed onto the unit. Why? Because the drilled holes for the brackets that hold the doors are behind the front legs. When installed, the legs (which taper at the bottom, and flare at the top), block the doors from opening. The doors open only 1 inch! Another WTF moment!! Again, I managed to get past using them, but it would have been nice to have them installed as in the picture because they they would prevent dust from reaching my AV components.

3) Finally, this damned thing will not hold my AV equipment! Thats right, the fit is so tight that my equipment (a Panasonic AV receiver with DVD/CD changer, Kenwood Equalizer, and Sony CD/DVD changer) had to be flipped, and practically skewered in order to get onto the shelves. Again, the problem is those damned legs at each corner of the unit. They block any attempt to install equipment greater than 15" wide into the unit. Lord have mercy! Unless you have micro/mini components, do not get this piece of particalboard booyah!

Oh, and those glass doors? I used those for the shelves to hold my components as they are a lot thinner than the supplied adjustable shelves. I could at least twist and turn and juggle my AV equipment, and scrape the sides of them and the cabinet onto those (no larger than an) anal-cavity shelves.

I haven't gotten my 42" flat screen TV yet, and man, I am almost afraid to place it on this contraption of a AV shelf. While it looks nice, it lacks any real usability, and is just like I said earlier, a large coffee table with two drawer storage. Oh, and dont plan on placing anything in those drawers either. At least not any DVDs with the cases. You will get perhaps 20 in each of them. Oh, maybe the cabinet is trying to encourage me from maintaining an actual DVD library, and to download video on demand, and be done with physical DVD storage. Not! Furntiure doesn't tell me what to do especially when this thing can't do what it's advertised to do. I can't return it it would be a major hassle. So I will suck it up, swallow the $$$ loss, and get the darned entertainment center I saw at Neiman Marcus for $1,100. At least It will be delivered assembled.

I hope that you read my review. The item itself arrived and the box was in decent shape, so I felt I did not have to open immediately. Once I had opened I found that the top shelf was split in the corner from someone who didn't understand that you must protect corners as they are the first to get damaged. One would think a simple install of Styrofoam would have made sense. When you think about it, what package have you ever seen without it? Sonax, and Amazon need to get their acts together. I say Amazon as they have a responsibility to check their suppliers so that we don't have to constantly return items. Sonax just seriously needs to hire a packaging engineer; yes they have them. I'll be returning this item, even though I like it because I simply cannot deal with the split corner. I would have liked to just replace the top shelf, but Amazon won't support that option. I guess I've learned my lesson; I will never buy furniture from Amazon again.

This is self-assemble furniture at its worst. The shelves are incredibly flimsy and do not withstand the weight of CDs. The shelves sagged immediately upon loading. The shelves are also so unstable that I can nearly topple the entire contents with one finger. The decorative front slats are attached with three dowels and school glue, too, which means I expect them to pop off at any moment. I own other pieces of cheap furniture, from IKEA etc, and this is far less stable. I don't imagine being able to move this to another room in my house without it falling apart much less to my next home or apartment. At $250, save your money.

This CD storage rack will hold one's HUGE CD/DVD collection, and in most cases, with room to spare. Though pricey, the unit is likely more than sufficient to allow storage of most everything in your collection, and avoid you having to spend about the same amount of money for extra smaller storage racks as your collection grows. The assembly instructions are on the sparse side, so some previous experience in putting together such units will be helpful.

When I assembled my unit, I deviated a bit at a couple of places in the instructions to assure that the unit would be sturdily put together and stable, once fully loaded with CDs. Here is what I did:

1) When I glued the three front molding strips onto the front of the unit, the instructions advise you to use only small drops of the "school glue" provided, on the wood dowel pegs. That raised a red flag for me and told me that use of that particular glue would be inadequate, too sparse, and not provide a strong bond with the three vertical shelf support units, thus most probably causing the unit to eventually come apart under load stress. Instead, if you have access to a set of furniture/cabinet glue clamps, use those, plus a good strong bonding glue, such as "Gorilla" glue to bond and clamp the three molding strips to the three vertical shelf support units, following the instructions for the glue you use. Apply glue not only on the wood dowel pegs; apply glue also on the front face of the vertical shelf supports as well. Thus, you can be assured of a sturdy bond and improbability of the unit coming apart.

2) The rack comes with what the manufacturer calls an "Anti-toppling" device, intended for installation on the unit if the user lives in an earthquake zone. This consists of two woven nylon ribbon straps and screw hardware to fasten to the unit and against the wall where the unit will be located. I strongly advise installation of this particular hardware, even if you don't live in an earthquake zone it will assure that the unit will not topple in any other situations, especially where small children are involved. If you install this hardware, make sure that it is installed on the unit EXACTLY where 2 x 4 wall studs behind a sheet rock wall are located. In my case, instead of using the hardware provided, I drilled small holes at appropriate locations on the back of the top at the exact locations where the unit would be positioned at 2 x 4 wall studs and used medium-sized screw eyelets at those positions on the unit as well as on the wall. I then installed a couple of heavy-duty nylon securing straps (both the eyelets and nylon straps can be had at a hardware store) through the installed wall/rack eyelets to hold the unit safely in place.

For the practicality of the unit, I would give it five stars, but in the case of the assembly of the unit where I deviated in the locations I describe, I reduce it to four stars.

Black and Spice Four Shelf Bookcase

I honestly wasn't expecting a lot for this price but was very pleasantly surprised! This item is made in Canada although it is similar to something you would get from Ikea. It uses the familiar dowels, pegs and cams and only requires a screwdriver to assemble. The directions were well organized and easy to follow. Once assembled, the bookcase actually looks great with some nice extra touches like the arched front piece on the bottom and crown moulding on the top. It seems very sturdy and well made. Easily handles all four shelves full of books.

I paid $92 for this set of shelves and it arrived right on time. After taking all of the pieces and hardware out of the extensive packaging I settled in for what I *expected* to be a typical for me frustrating furniture assembly experience.

This project was *way better* than I expected in the frustration dept. The directions are clearly marked and pictured if not clearly worded and all of the pieces in the box were accurately and clearly marked, correct in number, and only very minimally damaged.(3 tiny scratches)The hardware was identified by picture and number and was also complete +. I had several extra hardware pieces even after a triple count check for accuracy.

All in all and after only one error on my part this unit went very carefully together in 45 minutes from scissors thru plastic wrap to the completion of the project. The tiny scratches were easily fixed by using the provided marking pen that matched the darker finish of the top, bottom, and frame. There was no color match pen for the interior shelves but those arrived 100% intact in the package I received.

This unit looks great and feels more expensive that it is.

I only gave 4 stars because the packaging was very excessive but was expected and like I said the unit did arrive with 3 tiny scratches .. I guess with less packaging it might have been more. My grade? | A

|I spent a bit of time looking into bookcases, storage bins, shelves etc. I bought this bookcase because it matches the other furniture in my room (black and brown). My husband put it together in about 1.5 hours, while complaining about the poor directions, but it looks decent and is solid/sturdy. Like other reviewers, I think that the cardboard "beadboard" back is chintzy. I would gladly have paid an extra few bucks for an upgrade to pressboard. Anyway, I knew about it before buying it, so I was not too dissapointed. I was dissapointed that the shelf measure 29.5" wide and 11.75" deep, I was counting on the 32" as I have 10" baskets and wanted to put 3 per shelf. There were also several small dings in the "finish" which is paperlike. The bottom line, if you want to buy a piece of non-wood furniture, this is better than many I have seen.

This is a very nice piece of furniture, especially for the money. I bought it for the den, but it is in the living room and looks great. My husband said it was very easy to put together and he seemed to do it very quickly. I am pretty fussy, but this purchase surpassed my expectations. Our UPS man asked if we had ordered this brand before and we said no. He then said he hears nothing but good things so he also bought the bookcase and told us we would be pleased with our purchase. He was right. We are delighted. I am going to order the desk.

Espresso Altus Wall Mounted Audio/Video Console

This is a wonderful console to place under your wall mounted flat screen TV. I was looking for something that would get the TV/DVD/Cable wires up off the floor and hidden. This console does this beautifully. However, be prepared to have some time on your hands in order to mount this on the wall. My husband had the kit opened and was ready to put it up, when he realized there were no mounting screws. The directions did state that they were not included, but there were no guidelines as to what type to buy, etc. So, after a trip to the local Lowe's, the correct mounting equipment was purchased and he was ready to do the job. Everything went fairly well, although it was a bit trickly getting the holes drilled in the back of the unit. It's up now and is really solid. Very attractive unit, just time-consuming and tricky in some ways to put up. Also, we called the Prepac Helpline, asking if there was a kit with the mounting materials. All they could tell us was that there wasn't a kit and they referred us back to the seller for information. Anyway, they weren't much help.

I really like this console. Although this console isn't made of real wood, it is very sturdy and does a great job of hiding wires. It was very easy to assemble. Warning: This console needs 3 studs to be wall mounted. The reason I took off a star is because, 1. It came with NO wall mounting hardware. The manual included says they don't supply the hardware needed to mount the console to the wall. That is ridiculous! 2. This console does not hold 100 regular DVD cases like the advertisement says it does. It holds around 80 DVDs. (EDIT: The advertisement states 100 Blu-ray cases. I'm still going to keep the star off for not having any hardware to mount the console.)Other than these two flaws I do recommend the console.

Because the shelves are so deep, you can't see the wires from the xbox, dvd player, cable box at all! I bought this for my daughters room, she and her friends like it. I hung it 41" from the floor to the top shelf, she uses the bottom shelf for her text books, I have a 42" LG lcd, which hangs 5.5" above the unit. I notice all of the shelves slope slightly downward. No wall mounting hardware, I bought 3 lag bolts, one for each stud. This unit comes in a very flat narrow box but I thought it was fun to put together, I was not able to break or strip any of the pieces. Your gonna need a drill bit about the size of the lag bolt for the piece of wood that attaches to the wall, a stud finder, and a smaller drill bit for wall so the lag bolts go in easier. Enjoy

This console is sikk, i put it together by myself.. nothing serious.. you just separate each and every piece in the box.. mark them with a post-it. C1.. C2.. etc, and the little pieces that come in the bag.. open the bag and separate them too.. and just begin the process. You can't lose. Before anything just go to your local home depot or hardware store and get yourself 1/4 x 3 in lag bolts because they don't supply it.. its like a $1.50 for 3 or 4 of them. i Used two lag bolts for two studs on the wall that i mounted it on. I used 4 for more security.. two lag bolts in the middle for the stud, and two 1/4" hollow wall toggle bolt anchors for the left and right corner. As stated in one of the reviews before mine, the wall will come down before this console. Its pretty awesome, it hides all your wires if you fish them correctly and boom!, you're good to go!

It was easy and quick to put together, and (with the help of my husband) to attach it to the wall. I needed something that would spread wide on the wall, and yet had a narrow surface. Thus, this deep-cherry colored multi-tiered shelf does it takes the wall space but leaves me my room.

P.S. For some reason, Amazon posted a picture of a free-standing shelf, while mine has a specific wall design, and looks different.

This cabinet is great. I've had one for 3 years now and I just bought a second one. Ordered on Monday, the carrier called on Wednesday and it was delivered from a big semi on Thursday morning. The carrier brought it into my garage and let me inspect it before accepting delivery. You will need to install the footings and I had a problem with the door reinforcement channels being too long. I looked at my other cabinet and concluded it was a manufacturing defect. I had to trim the pieces with a tin snips in order to install the footings. This is the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5.
