FURINNO 4-Tier Bookcase Storage Shelves Cabinet with Door/Round Handle

I bought this based on the one glowing review of the product. I have never been more miserable and upset putting a product together. The outer box was fine but as I unpacked the contents to build it, there were chunks missing out of the sides, the plastic in the corners/sides was pulled back/missing. Each piece I took out of the box seemed more damaged. Having already returned another item due to the same reason, I kept it since it would be too much of a hassle to box it back up.

Be prepared to have tools handy. You need a Phillips screwdriver and also a hammer. You might be tempted to take the hammer to the whole thing but give it time, it will look somewhat decent. Some of the pieces were not marked and others were. Some pieces had pre-drilled holes, others did not. I already knew it would be small; I measured it before I ordered it but be prepared. In the pictures they really stretched it out to make it look big.

I placed this in my bathroom to place towels in it for when I get out of the bathtub. It matches my bathroom but is an eye sore. All the screws on the side of the unit, which are eight, are visible and look tacky. I lined everything up as well as I could building it but yet the top shelf will not close unless you hold it at an angle.

It will serve its purpose but be prepared. I have Ikea furniture that is made a lot better than this. This is cheap quality and poor quality control. Save yourself the headache and buy something else. I cannot recommend this product due to the poor quality.

NOT ENGLISH INSTRUCTIONS. I opened this box and the instructions weren't in English. I'm sorry but i only know a little but of French and Spanish but i don't know Chinese or Japanese (not sure which one it is). I was able to put it together ok for the most part using the pictures but what really upset me is that I received parts that were broken (the magnet parts that keep the doors in place). They were made with cheap plastic and could if been made better. I'm not handy so I'll either just glue or tape the magnets in because i need to keep my cats out of the shelve (one reason why i bought it) this is why I'm giving it 2 stars. Also the laminate started coming off when i was putting it together.

If you don't mind having to deal with chinese instructions, then these are not a bad buy. The instructions have visuals so it wasn't too hard to figure out. They go together nicely and don't take up much space.

I ordered this and bought it for my son's first grade class, after the previous teacher left and there was nothing in the classroom. The kids needed a mailbox, as they were used to putting all their papers in one. It came without instructions, although a note said the instructions were enclosed, so I had to figure out how to put it together. Out of the box, it was bent in places where it shouldn't have been bent, making it even more flimsy. If I had another option or more time, I would have returned it. It is not very sturdy, and is made up of soft cardboard. It is certainly not worth the price. The name tags are actually above the boxes instead of below the boxes, which has been confusing for the kids. I was very disappointed and would not recommend it to other people.

Not too hard to put up together. I did not realize it's paper board until I got it. For the price, it's really too expensive.....

This mail box saved my day when I started teaching 36 third grade students. I just put their corrected papers in the box, and they retrieve it easily. It's perfect keeps me organized, avoids finding a spot in the classroom to store corrected papers, and saves valuable class time for teaching instead of passing out papers. Because I have more students than the 30 slots allow, I have some students share a box which is roomy enough for two to share.

Madison Avenue Double Floor Cabinet

Even after all the reviews, I decided to take a chance on this shelving unit. I thought...how difficult could it be?

I've put together A LOT of this type of furniture and when this arrived, it was no different. For a first timer, maybe I could see how it would be hard to understand the directions. But I thought it was very easy to put together....my 9 year-old helped me.

When it was finished I did notice a couple of small defects. There's a small scrape or something on the front at the top that shows the bare wood underneath. Since it's just under the lip of the top, I wasn't too concerned you have to be sitting right in front of it at eye level to see it. The most noticable thing is that the doors aren't aligned. The right side rubs at the top and the left side rubs at the bottom which creates a gap between the doors. Again, nothing major, but I had my handy husband realign the hinges.

All in all, a good deal on a shelving unit. I don't know how long it will last since most things made these days don't last very long anyway. I wouldn't recommend putting something really heavy on it, like a TV only because I don't know how sturdy it is. We have it in our bathroom.

This is a nice cabinet for the bathroom. My husband put it together in about 45 minutes. The dowels that came with the unit are a little small for the holes, so he slathered wood glue in the dowel holes to make them more stable. (He's a wood-worker, so he knows these tricks). The unit had no manufacturing or paint odor at all. For the price of the unit, it is very nice. The backing is not wood, but particle wood-fiber board material but that is fine it is against the wall and not seen. Besides, who wants to cram the unit so full of stuff that it is bursting from the seams? The unit came with a small strap to secure it to the wall but this is not needed, it is very stable. Overall it is a good buy.

The piece, completed, looks good. However, it was difficult to assemble, and the instructions were inadequate almost to the point of being useless. For one thing, they say nothing about positioning pieces to begin the assembly. I had to work out for myself how to lay individual pieces in order to begin putting them together. Also, glue gave out when I first tried to lift the piece onto its feet to continue assembly. The piece came apart and I had to start over. Had to buy a better glue.

Doubt very much I'd buy it again, simply because of the difficulty of getting it together.

First off, this beautiful and sturdy piece arrived 4 days ahead of schedule. I was quite pleased to find it on my doorstep when I got home from work yesterday.

Secondly, I really don't understand all the complaints about how difficult it was to put together and how flimsy and unsteady the piece was.

If you have ever put a piece of furniture together, this is no different and no more difficult. It's not brain surgery people. Just follow the directions.

All pieces and hardware were well labeled and the directions, although did not contain step by step narratives, were easy to follow along with.

As for the reviews from people saying how unstable and shaky the product was, perhaps they need to tighten up some of the hardware. It is also very important to attach the stabilizing braces to the back of the piece once completely assembled.

I am thrilled with this beautiful piece and am using it in my master bath to hold towels, tissue, etc.. So glad I did not listen to all the negative reviews!

I received my cabinet 2 days earlier than quoted (nice surprise). The cabinet was packaged very well, no broken parts or nicks in the wood. It went together very easily, however the instructions are a little vague, but having assembled furniture similar to this in the past it was no big problem. Had it together in about 15 to 20 minutes. We placed it in our bathroom for extra storage of towels, wash clothes etc. and it fit perfectly in the space where we wanted to put it. It is quite elegant looking and for the money you can't beat it. Thanks for another great shopping experience at Amazon.com!!!!

Really, these shelves look so good, you should go out of your way to complement them, and arrange all those cables in an orderly manner. The steel rod construction gives you plenty of places to attach cable ties, so you can dress everything up nice and neat.

Poor instructions on the caster assembly. You have to completely remove the feet that come on the shelving to add the casters. As another review states you need a sturdy dowell to put inside the leg to pop the foot out before putting the caster on. I did not use the "bumpers" above the feet as I wanted to put the shelf flush to the wall. Once on, the casters are fantastic 5 inch wheels that roll very smoothly. The shelves are huge and very sturdy. I will be able to roll 3 of these shelves out into the driveway and clean the garage in minutes.

I am very satisfied with the purchase.

Almost hard to believe the 'made in china' sticker on unit. Product came well packaged with additional securements to prevent product damage. Product is well designed and set-up was fast. Kit comes with 4 shelves, 4 vertical bars and includes parts for 1 or 2 shelving unit assembly options (1 unit with 4 shelves or 2 units with 2 shelves each). Also includes fasteners and anchors for mounting top of unit to wall if desired. Included leg/floor levelers, too. Parts are higher quality than normal out of china, no cheap fasteners or plastic parts. All steel construction with paint and not the stinky vinyl typically seen. Also very sturdy, could use this thing as a ladder.

The shelves themselves seem fine, but putting the casters on is problematic. You have to remove the existing adjustable feet, and the only way to do this is to insert a strong dowel inside the unit and bang the feet out. If, like me, you don't have exactly the right sized dowel to hand, you will need a trip to the hardware store before you can assemble the shelves a real pain. Then you have to find a way to hold the legs steady while you bang out the feet without scratching the paint off. Altogether not well thought out. A suggestion for Alera either don't put the adjustable feet in before shipment, so that caster users can assemble easily, or put a dowel in the box.

I am extremely pleased with this shelf unit. I was a little leery about ordering these since the price was about half what I could find similar wire shelves for locally and through other web sites, but the load rating was good, so I decided to give them a try. I'm glad I did. these shelves work just as well as shelves I've used in the past costing 2 to 3 times as much. I also like the fact that these shelves can be used as one tall set or two short units by utilizing the assortment of parts that they ship with. The shelves also arrived much faster than Amazon predicted. I would definitely purchase these again.

New Set of 2 Ikea Gorm Shelving Units Soft Wood , Multi-use

I have the 3-section version of Gorm, which uses 2 single-section shelf units joined by another set of shelf pieces in between. In this configuration, there are 48 screws. Of the 48, four split the wood of the shelf pieces. I used these for my son's toys, which are not heavy, so I accepted this flaw, but I would not load up these shelves with anything heavier.

Holes are pre-drilled, but they're not precisely located in the place that they should be. I wonder if this contributed to the splitting problem.

Assembly by one person is tricky, especially in the 3-section version. The one-section version, as seen in this product offering, would be easy enough.

I would also say that these shelves definitely need front-to-back stabilization, and there is none provided. The included "x"-braces in the back are for lateral stabilization and are called Observator (five dollars for each "x" at i k e a). I'll be buying 2 extra sets of these and fastening them to each side.

I don't recommend these shelves. There are cheaper steel or metal shelves at your local big-box hardware/home store. You won't get the same square-footage of storage per dollar, but you won't face the problems with splitting of wood.

It is very attractive, fits in corner nicely. It had some chips and delamination in small areas. The packaging was very good, so none of the damage was from shipping. I have repaired the chips and delamination, but would not buy from this seller again. Pictures do not show the quality of these items. I think it is over priced for it's quality.
