I would reccomend these shelves to you if you are the type of person who has cabinets in your home. These shelves go directly into the cabinets, practically doubling your storage space! I felt like a magician the first time I put them into my cabinet. They didn't fit at first, but after I removed a few items that I had in the cabinet I had plenty of space for the shelf. I put the things that were in my way on top of the new shelf. I am so amazed at how much extra storage space I have for my troll doll collection now!

I realize this is a pretty cheap option when you're purchasing an over-the-sink shelf. But you really do get what you pay for. It's not very stable at all, so things fall off of it all the time. It doesn't sit right on my sink, but that's due to a lip on the edge of my sink, not the shelf. However, it doesn't sit flat even on a tabletop it needs to be stabilized with a piece of wood or something under the feet. I say spend a little extra and get something better.

I bought this to put on my dresser to have more space. Well it worked and looks great highly recommend this product

Absolute waste of money. Workmanship was awful. had to take it to the shop and finish drilling holes to get the pegs in. Could have made this myself for under $5. Return policy says cannot return anything opened. Well, you have to take the cellophane off to even get to it. My thought for ordering stuff thru this site again is questionable. This product is minus 2 stars

The basic wood is okay, but unless you glue and nail all the pieces together it keeps seperating. Also the pieces are not completly level so it woddles a bit had to re-cut the legs to make it not wobble as much.

I've grown to love Gorilla Racks more and more, as the plastic shelving I also bought sagged under heavy loads, finally becoming useless, while the Gorilla Racks hung tough.

But they're ugly/industrial looking. However, these white ones look OK in the house. They're identical to other Gorilla Racks except for the color, but the color makes all the difference. And their whiteness helps brighten up a room.

I filled a wall in my wife's sewing room with three of these racks. They look good and they're tough enough to keep your anvil collection in them (just kidding)(mostly). After assembling a bunch of these by myself, it's easy to bang them together. Once you remember not to put in the verticals upside down, and learn to juggle their delicate balance at certain points in the assembly. But I'm not particularly strong, and I did it just fine. You need a rubber-headed mallet (a few bucks at any hardware store) and not much else. The little doohickeys for linking several racks together turned out to be useful.

And if you need to they're also easy to dissassemble. They are heavy. But nothing strong isn't. And if you plan to stow anything substantial on your racks, these really are worth the small amount extra you'll pay compare to flimsy plastic ones.

I purchased this shelving unit to go in my laundry room/pantry to hold extra supplies for my home. This is my second Gorilla Rack product and once again I am very pleased. The overall assembly is simple enough becuase the only tool you need is a rubber mallet. Some of the pieces however were a little tricky to get into place due to the powdercoat finish making the fit tight. The only other minor complaint I would have is that this product is advertised as white, but it is more of an eggshell or off-white color. Overall this Gorilla Rack is a high quality product that holds a lot of stuff!

Put it in baby's room to hold toys, totes full of baby clothes/burp cloths, and baby food supplies. I haven't put together a 'concealed post' shelf together before; i should have looked at the directions first, or at least noticed the extra pieces, but it went together very well, and I love it. Baby doesn't crawl yet, so I have yet to see if he can manage to hurt himself on it. Only thing I'm concerned about is if he crawls onto the bottom shelf, then tries to stand up. the beam going across might not feel so good on the back of his head...

Some reviewer's mentioned that it was hard to pound the beams in... I have 5 other gorilla shelves that's not this fancy white concealed post version... and I think that the difficulty was the same. (except I finally bought a decent rubber mallet, so this shelf was actually probably easier.)

I'm not concerned about this but perhaps you would be... some of the laminant came off on the edges of some of the shelves... kind of flaked off from being jostled around in the box.

I own many Gorilla Rack products, and they have always been amazing--sturdy, heavy duty, and easy to assemble. I was interested in seeing this rack, with the concealed keyholes, for possible use in a pantry. I guessed they would have taken a normal Gorilla Rack and added steel to conceal the holes--wrong.

The way these are made is they have taken much thinner steel and folded it over onto itself to hide the keyholes. The corrugation of the steel is what gives it strength, instead of thick steel like in their other products. I can't tell you how disappointed I was to see this--it is a serious dilution of the Gorilla Rack brand. Based solely on this, I would have returned these racks.

I did try to assemble one of them, and discovered that the white powder coating had been applied way too thick on the buttons on the z-bar, so when I tried to install the z-bar into the upright, it just tore the keyhole out (the profile of the button should be a "T" shape--these have little to no relief under the head of the button, and therefore can't possibly fit into the narrow part of the keyhole).

Read that last sentence again--the steel in the upright actually bent and tore, with minimal tapping from a rubber mallet on the z-bar. That should give you an idea of how flimsy this rack is. If you've ever used another Gorilla Rack, you will know that you'd need a sledge and some serious metal tools to tear the steel in the uprights.

These are on their way back, and I'm sticking with their traditional (strong) line.

If it weren't for the manufacturing defects, I might give two stars. If they were not called Gorilla Rack, maybe three. But within that brand, these are a serious departure and disappointment.

The pieces arrive exactly as described. You only need a rubber mallet and several brain cells to put it together. It holds so much that you will kick yourself for not ordering it sooner.

If you're still undecided, you really don't need a great shelf after all.

We just purchased our third of these (there are over 350 books in our home). Every time we have ordered one, it has come well packed in layers of Styrofoam and has been simple to put together. The shelves are quite sturdy, each of our three holds at least 100 books of varying sizes.

The only problem with these shelves is that they leave marks on the wall if you have to move/straighten them. This usually only happens when first putting up the shelves and initially positioning them, as they stay in place quite well when set up and full of books.

Also, Amazon tends to put these shelves on sale every so often, so you can usually pick one up for under $65 with shipping included, if you wait for the right time.

I wanted a leaning bookshelf, and did a little research on various ones. I chose this one, over the cheapest one on Amazon (I think around $45) because a couple of reviewers said that it was sturdy enough to hold a lot of books, and that is what I wanted to use it for. Overall, I am happy with it. I just have a few comments about the piece, itself for people who are a little hesitant to buy furniture online.

It is easy to put together. It comes in 9 pieces (5 shelves, 2 sides, and a top and bottom). The painted finish seems a little thin on the parts of the shelf you wouldn't see (ie the bottom). The directions have an inventory and assembly section. In the inventory section they clearly show that the top and bottom of he sides are different (top is straight and bottom is angled), but in the assembly directions they look the same. The result is it took me a few minutes to figure out which end I was actually supposed to start on. The shelves are screwed in very securely. It is not just a screw into wood, but there is a metal reinforcement around the hole. BUT the bottom and tops are loose. I ended up putting a few dabs of wood glue on them (which means I can't disassemble this), and letting it cure overnight. It is almost like the holes are too large in the top and bottom or the wood dowels are too short. The upper shelf cannot really hold books, because it is so shallow. You could put paperbacks on it, but they would hang over a little. The bottom shelf is the opposite. It is so deep. I had to rummage through my books to find a couple that I could put on the ends that would not fall out of the sides onto the wall or floor.

I have a lot of books, that vary in size and weight, and the shelf handled all of them beautifully. A good alternative to a more expensive version of this shelf. And a smarter design than the cheapest version. The edging around each shelf keeps your books on the shelf, and prevents your wall from getting scratched up each time you add or remove a book.

I also had no problems with scratching the wall when I placed it (one reviewer claimed this). Also, the sides are each one long piece of wood not broken in two (another review claimed this).

I purchased this shelf from AtHomeMart, and am extremely happy with the product. It arrived well packaged (almost over kill on the Styrofoam if you ask me...) and went together amazingly easy. I put it together by myself in maybe twenty minutes, I didn't even need to look at the instructions!

There are only two things I can say that are the least bit negative about this product... One, I'm very sad it didn't come in an espresso finish, none of my other furniture is black. And two, I was not aware that the height of the shelf would be in two pieces. This is really not noticeable, it just was not what I was expecting. I was expecting the side pieces to be one solid long piece, but they are actually two smaller pieces you set together. Once together, they are very secure and the seam isn't terribly noticeable.

All in all, I think this is a wonderful shelf. It looks great in my living room, is very sturdy, and (I feel) very well constructed. I would definitely recommend this product, especially for the price.

These shelves are lovely, spacious, and easy to assemble, even with only one person. The only reason I am giving them four stars instead of five is a design/cost-cutting issue. Each shelf is held to each side post by a long screw, which does most of the fastening, and two dowels which run between the posts and the shelves on either side of the screw, for stability and weight bearing. The dowels are flimsy pressboard -I broke two of them during the assembly process, just moving the shelving to attach the other side. Would it really have been too expensive or difficult to make them of the same beautiful wood that the shelving is made of, or better yet, metal? There isn't even a measurement given on the instructions to let me know what size dowel they are, so that I can procure metal ones to replace them. Other than this issue, I'm very happy with the look of the shelves, and I'm sure my books are similarly happy to be freed of their moving boxes.

This is a nice shelf for the price. Crate and Barrel charges an arm and a leg for similar shelving, so this is a decent alternative. At Home Mart's customer service is also very good -when my shelf arrived broken they took care of it immediately, shipping out replacement pieces at no cost to me.

Suffered through the horrible 100+ degrees of Louisiana summer and now see the light of day that fall is soon to arrive. Fall ALWAYS makes me want to redecorate but sometimes the lack of money makes it impossible. So, I browsed many sites for reasonable priced furniture for guest rooms that grandaughter and grandson will use when here for holidays. I had to convince myself that for that little bit of money, I was getting a semi-quality product and one that was not a horrible experience to put together. Well, let me tell you, I ordered 5 pieces and so far have put together 3, one of which was the South Shore Step One Collection TV Stand in chocolate. Oh my.....what a gorgeous piece of furniture!!!! and easy, easy, easy to put together. I then put together the two other pieces and am in heaven because this furniture is fantastic. I had read reviews from others, some good, some bad. I am fully onboard with the positive side of this company and this particular collection. If you have needs similar to mine and are trying to remodel without breaking the bank DO NOT HESITATE to purchase this furniture. Add to the mix that purchasing from Amazon is a win-win situation, especially with PRIME, and you have a recipe for success!!

Overall, I like this product. It supports my 100 pound tv with ease, and seems like a sturdy piece of furniture. Item arrived 5 days after ordering, as was delivered to my front door, even living on the 2nd floor. The 3 stars rating was given for 2 reasons. First, when I took out all the pieces, one of the shelves was cracked. It is a noticeable crack, but not worth sending back such a massive package over. Second, the assembly instructions were about a 9th generation copy, and the diagrams were impossible to read. To top it off, not all the pieces were labeled, so this tv stand took me over 3 hours to put together, when with proper instructions, it should have only taken me 1/2 that long. Overall, the piece looks pretty good, especially for the money.

I ordered this stand just to have an inexpensive stand for my new TV. Other than one whole page of the instructions being blank (as though the ink had faded) and the fact that there was no tracking on the shipping I have no major complaints. One thing that I was disappointed in but is not the manufacturer's fault is that the spaces directly below the TV are too small to fit my current DVD player. However, overall I have been very pleased with my purchase. I love the modern look and it definitely looks more expensive than what I paid for it. Iit was also fairly easy to put together even with one page of instructions missing. I would definitely purchase this stand again as well as recommend it to a friend any time.

Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase. The packaging that it was shipped in was adequate and there was no damage when I opened it. What you see is what you get, it does look like it does in the picture and as some reviewers said, the parts arent labeled that great, but its not a complete disaster. The instructions say that it requires 2people to put it together. I am a single mommie that lives alone so that was not an option for me. I was worried that I would have to wait for someone to come by and help me but I did manage to put it together alone. It did take me quite some time to put it together, but I got the job done. I am terrible when it comes to putting things together, so if I can do it, anyone can do it... just be prepared to be patient.

I ordered this TV stand and when it arrived, it was damaged. I went to the South Shore website and ordered pieces for the damaged ones. Again, one of the pieces that came in the second batch was damaged. This company REALLY needs to package their items better. I've not had a chance to put it together yet, but hopefully, it will be alright. I don't feel like sending off for yet ANOTHER piece that may or may not come to me damaged. Buyer beware.

I can't say enough about this shelf. It's really attractive. I have a tiny bathroom, but i needed a little bit of space to put things on. This shelf matches the satin nickel fixtures and light plates and knobs, etc. It really brings a modern look to the bathroom.

It comes with a template that you hang on your wall and it shows you exactly where to drill your holes. That makes hanging the shelf very simple.

I got this particular shelf, because of the rail. I wanted to make sure nothing was falling off of the shelf. The rail is very useful and attractive, too.

I highly recommend this shelf!

This is great quality and very well made. It was very easy to install. The only comment I have is that when I held the entire assembled unit on my hands, I thought that it was too heavy for the anchors you receive if installing on drywall. I used some heavy duty anchors I had in hand instead.

I bought two of these. One came with a stencil in the directions for drilling the holes and the other didn't. Weird. Once I remembered the reviews on here and told my boyfriend that he had to ignore the instructions they went up without a hitch. If you rely on the directions instead of good, old-fashioned common sense, these things will drive you bonkers.

I spray painted the chrome with a clear rust proof lacquer and put them in my shower. They won't get wet directly, but the moisture and steam could still rust them, so hopefully this will work. So far, they are holding shampoo bottles just fine and they are not loose.

They are good shelves, but I had to take off a star for the directions. Seriously, it would have been better if they showed up without directions, they were that bad.
