Beautiful Cube Bookcase Unit

First, the above poster's comments are not correct, the item does not cost more to ship than the bookcase costs (shipping was around $65). The item was ordered on 6/12 and it arrived at my house on 6/23, so delivery was faster than expected. It came in 2 boxes, one really large box weighing 70 pounds, and a smaller box that just contained the smaller spacer shelves.

A couple of notes:

1) The description says "may require assembly"... This is incorrect, it definately requires assembly. You will need a screwdriver and a hammer.

2) The quality is just so-so. The back is made out of that really thin thin wood that you tack onto the back. I was expecting something much more substantial.

3) There is a tag on it saying that the manufacturer is Coaster Fine Furniture, and the website is coastercompany dot com

All in all, it is a descent unique bookcase and perfect for my kids room. Lots of cubbies to store his stuff in.

The product works fine & looks about as I expected for the price. Just be careful when you are putting it together as the pieces are not labeled as to which part they are. When putting it together, my fiance put one of the interior sides upside down (like I said, not labeled!). Of course, we didn't figure it out until we went to put the shelves in! Needless to say, they were crooked. So he had to take it apart & start all over again!

I have used these shelves in the past. I needed another shelf above my computer hutch and this was perfect. Simple to install, but my house has metal studs on the interior walls. Used screw in plastic wall anchors made for sheet rock that are capable of holding sixty pounds. Have done this many time in the past.

Item is sturdily constructed. I would recommend this to anyone needing a simple shelf that looks good.

was a bit skeptical about ordering after reading 1st review; however, took a leap of faith since I was desperately looking for a very low profile media center for my kids play room to fit in a "nook". Product is not solid wood; however, I did not expect it to be. for the price, very well made, easy to put together and looks great too! It literally took me less than 20 minutes to put together, which I was very happy about. For price I paid I could not be happier!

I was really disappointed with this product. When the product arrived to my condo, the box was open. This caused considerable damage sides of the top and bottom panel. Also, the picture on amazon shows that the unit stands on wooden legs that extend from the bottom panel. The unit that I received came with black pegs that you place at the bottom of the unit for legs. Lastly, the finish on the top and bottom panels was faulty. There were gaping spaces were you could actually see the particle board.

Even with all of the problems, I was still going to attempt keep the unit. I think what finally pushed me over is when I attempted to put the unit together and the pegs would not fit on the bottom panel. I called amazon to initiate a return and I will be sending this unit back tomorrow.

I was sent new unit by customer service and now the picture on the site matches the actual unit that was sent to me.

This unit arrived with no physical damage to the packaging, however, there were few digs on the actual pieces. For example, the board that goes on the back of the unit was slightly bent and the drawers had few scratches on them. The finish on the top and bottom panels was a lot better this time but the finish still lifts on the corners and exposes some of the particle board.

I was able to somewhat assemble the unit. However, I am missing some pieces. I am missing all 4 pieces that make up the sides of the drawers.

Again, customer service was really friendly and accommodating , but I don't think that the actual product was worth the hassle. At this point, I really could not give a positive recommendation on this product. I give the product and the experience 2 stars.

Home Basics Over Sink Shelf, Wood

I realize this is a pretty cheap option when you're purchasing an over-the-sink shelf. But you really do get what you pay for. It's not very stable at all, so things fall off of it all the time. It doesn't sit right on my sink, but that's due to a lip on the edge of my sink, not the shelf. However, it doesn't sit flat even on a tabletop it needs to be stabilized with a piece of wood or something under the feet. I say spend a little extra and get something better.

I bought this to put on my dresser to have more space. Well it worked and looks great highly recommend this product

Return policy says cannot return anything opened. Well, you have to take the cellophane off to even get to it. My thought for ordering stuff thru this site again is questionable. The basic wood is okay, but unless you glue and nail all the pieces together it keeps seperating. Also the pieces are not completly level so it woddles a bit had to re-cut the legs to make it not wobble as much.

I purchased this cabinet (one of two different configuration cabinets) for my guest bedroom. The diagram and instructions were easy enough to follow, which is perfect for those of us who are diagramically challanged, which I soooo definately can be! :) and took me about 45 minutes to put together. All assembled it appears to be very sturdy, and will be ideal to keep amenities in for visiting guests or family.

Several sellers offer this cabinet here on Amazon, but I have to say Home and Living went the extra mile. This company contacted me after a bit of a mix up where it was indicated the cabinet had already shipped, then it was backordered, and I'd have to wait longer for delivery. They offered a discount off the purchase price for my inconvenience in having to wait. Now that's truly great customer service in my opinion! Other companies would be wise to take note. I will certainly consider Home and Living for additional furnishings when I move on to renovating my next room.

For the price the Winsome 3 Tier Cabinet is great. The only thing I was unhappy about was that the backing board for the cabinet came in three pieces and was held together by two plastic tracks. I wanted to use the cabinet without baskets in the top shelf, but it looks unfinished.

Looks nice. Really looks nice for the price. Not a "high dollar" finish as some comment, but for the price it will certainly do. Be advised though that the baskets are not so large. I purchased to store 8 1/2 x 11 sheets of paper and they won't lay flat in the baskets. That being said though, I'm keeping it. I'll get something else for the papers and I'm sure we'll find other things to store in the baskets. Just check the size of the individual baskets.

Got this because I needed to store some things in the bathroom and didn't have a place. I wanted something appropriate for high humidity, sturdy and the wife wouldn't want to throw it out because it was ugly. I decided metal was best for all of the above requirements and it would appear correctly assumed after a couple months. It happens to fit VERY snugly behind the tank which makes it very secure and impossible to tip. My kids destroyed the last one by trying unsuccessfully to climb on it but they haven't damaged this one despite trying. May not work the same for everyone but did so for me.

I have no claim to decorating prowess but it looks better than the plywood number or plastic ones we've had before and I'm not worried it will mildew like that one or rot/split at the floor level.

My one complaint is that the slots are not very close together. I have a toilet tank tray sitting on the bottom shelf and the tray is where I put all my "smaller" items and what would tip on the wire slots. Towels and most bottles and truly most things are okay on the other shelves and it works out just okay. That does mean you may need something like that but you can even find a nice looking one like brass, chrome or in my case something with a pattern (shells) that the wife likes. :-)

For the price, I certainly can't complain, but for anyone else considering buying this here's a few things to keep in mind. Assembly wasn't too complex, but there were no assembly instructions. The shelves are certainly tall enough to go over our toilet, but it's much deeper than I expected, so it sticks out over the bowl portion quite a bit. Also, if you have any sort of molded baseboard on your wall, that will make it stick out more and cause a problem securing it to the wall if you want to make it more stable (drywall screws were included). The biggest issue is that one piece didn't have the hole drilled through both sides of the metal tube. I have a power drill and a 1/4" drill bit, so it was an easy fix for me, but if I hadn't, I wouldn't have been able to finish assembling it.

I scoured Amazon for above-toilet bathroom shelving units. Evidently there are no widely bought, massively reviewed, 4+ star supra-toilet shelving units out there. But this one seemed like the closest. I read the reviews diligently, noted pros and cons, compared with others, weighed against how long we are likely to stay in our apartment, etc. etc.

Yeah, this was pretty crappy overall. Party my fault, probably, but partly not my fault.

Pros: decent looking metal finish, went well with our brushed-metal bathroom fixtures (pretty standard stuff). Easy to assemble. Looks like all the critical drilled-holes lined up. The top half (with shelves part) is cleverly constructed it's one big unit, and the shelves swivel out in unison, and voila! the top half is ready to go. Plus it was cheap.

Cons:

ALL relevant dimensions should be very prominently advertized. That includes the height of the lowest shelf. It cleared the toilet tank, but barely, and then since it was 13" deep, the toilet lid wouldn't open completely. Not a problem if you always rest your elbows on your knees, but say goodbye to sitting up straight. Can't find my tape measure, or I'd report the lowest shelf heighthere.

Very wobbly because the bottom support bar couldn't be attached because of the pipes under the toilet, and the connecting parts on the legs couldn't be flipped around or otherwise jerry-rigged to allow the support bar to be attached higher or lower.

Also has adjustable feet but only on the front two legs. I can see the being helpful for encouraging the unit to lean back and rest on the wall, but ultimately useless for the main wobbly issue.

I was ready for the widely-spaced rods on the shelves, but at least one of the shelves looked bent, or at least that it wasn't sitting straight. At minimum, this unit has seen better days. God knows how many times it has been sent out from the warehouse, only to return like dog you can't get rid of. If so, that would explain the rather beat-up box. It also came in a loose sheet of clear plastic, like someone sent it to the dry cleaners. Odd, and a hassle to get back in the box the way it came.

Summary: I've looked at everything up to $150 on Amazon for bathroom-specific over-the-toilet shelves, and nothing available looked clearly superior than the one reviewed here. A couple looked likely better, but it's still a gamble. Note to entrepreneurs: If you can mass-produce some decent bathroom shelving for less than $120, you'll make a fortune, because there are tumbleweeds rolling around this niche market.

Maybe I was sent a used item that someone else returned, or it's just a matter of poor quality production as other reviewers have noted. As I said in the above title description, I ordered the Chrome product and it looks discolored and rusted. Given this fact, I imagine that bathroom humidity will only exacerbate this problem. Also, some of the small bars on the shelves looked bent and one was actually out of the socket. I'm returning this for a refund and will order the White color instead in hopes that the paint quality will be decent.

Even compared to more expensive items, I really like and prefer the design style of this space-saver. The height and width seem perfect for my toilet and the 3 shelves are wide enough to hold towels and other large items. That's why I'm taking the time and trouble to order another version of this product.

I'll update this review when I receive the White version, and will assemble it if it is of decent enough quality to keep.

UPDATE June 17, 2012:

The White replacement I received was in much better shape than the Chrome product I returned. The paint job was OK and no shelf rods were detached from their sockets.

Assembley was easy: simply insert the legs and depress the top metal nuts so the legs can slide in and snap into place.

I found that the unit was sturdy enough and made stable enough by simply lowering the 2 moveable pieces located near the bottom shelf and attaching each piece to the respective side leg. The unit is thus stable enough so I don't need to attach the larger stability bar as well.

The box gives the full unfolded size in inches:

68.9(H) x 23.2(W) x 13(D). This should give you an idea of how it will look and fit into your available space. Also, I measured the height of the bottom shelf to be approximately 32 inches high, so everything below this is free space. Since my toilet tank is 28 inches high, that gives approximately 4 inches of free space enableing me to put small items on top of the tank if I should ever want to. My point here is that this unit cannot be placed over something that is roughly 32 inches high or greater, so you may want to check the height of your toilet tank before ordering this space saver.

The product photo shows only large items placed on each shelf. That is because the space between each individual shelf rod is approximately 1.25 inches, so small items will fall through the gaps. Therefore you will need to use something to cover each shelf if you plan to keep small items on this unit.

The bottom line: this is a made in China product so the quality is not the greatest. If you get a lemon, you may want to try your luck and order a replacement or a different color as I did. The White product look and quality is decent enough to meet my needs for a bathroom space saver.

I hope this review and update sharing my experiences may be helpful to anyone thinking of buying this.

Do not buy this item. The package does not include the bracket you need to install. Amazon tried to correct by sending a replacement. However, the replacement was missing the same part. Now I have to return two boxes back to Amazon. This is nonsense.

I searched everywhere for a roll out shelf for my 42" cabinet and thought I finally found the perfect one with this explandable shelf from JA Marketing. I went to install it today and found that they had included the WRONG brackets, making the installation and usage impossible. I left a message with someone at the company and am waiting for a response. I hope they will send me the correct brackets and I will be able use the shelf. This is pretty annoying. For $100 you'd think they could include the correct parts...

The "expandable" portion of this product make it weak and droopy on the sides. There is little to no support for items on the sides. I decided to purchase this despite the complaints about hardware issues. In fact I bought two...big mistake. This arrived about two hours ago and I was excited to get them installed. The instructions seem to have been written by a non-English speaker, but the install was easy. After I installed them and started loading the racks up, I realized the ends were unsupported and drooped. Debating taking them out and sending them back.

We bought this based on shape and reviews. We use it for an 18 month old and newborn, and it's great for both. The shape fits into corners and gives you an easier angle to do the 'job'. The shelves are convenient for storing and keeping handy all diaper and clothing changing equipment, even though some will complain they are thin, flimsy boardswe are taking about diapers, not a garage for cars.

The shape makes for a very stable table, and the mat fits on nicelyalthough the screws to attach it to the table are not too lasting. But then again, where would the mat run?

All in all a great changing table, with the only change I would make would be to enclose the storage shelves so the older children wouldn't have a field day undoing all your organizing.

I honestly don't know how people change their babies with the table facing sideways like almost all of the other tables on the market are arranged. Once you try this setup, you'll immediately see that it is far and away the best way to approach diaper changes. Yes, like the other reviewers, mine came with some broken parts, but the customer service was good and they sent out the replacements right away. The person who said the table was wobbly obviously doesn't have it pushed into the corner as it is designed to be, because the walls make it almost impossible for it to wobble if it is put together correctly. Either way, I'd suffer through a whole lot more than some broken parts and a little wobble in order to have the only table on the market that has the baby facing you this way--changing diapers with the baby facing any other way simply makes no sense once you've used this table.

If this hadn't been on sale, with free shipping, and an overall good buy, I would have given this much lower than a 4. I found that it was easy to put together, but mine is in pieces and needs some "fixing", so the quality isn't, in my estimation, that great. The lips on the shelves (very flimsy) all came off. Every single one. The staples aren't straight, so I can't just pop them back on.

I've changed my nearly 2 year old on it (she's under 30 lbs) and it is a very sturdy product. I haven't figured out how to organize stuff on it, because I too have an older child in everything. I wish the company offered an extra cover for the changing pad. Since it is a specially sized mat, you have to order it from the company, and I don't feel 16$ is worth the thin poor quality cover that comes with it.

Yes, it was flat-packed to the extreme, which meant one of the pieces arrived broken. So why am I giving it 5 stars?

Pros:

great price (we paid about $130 for it) and free shipping

the instructions came with info of how to order (for free) any unsatisfactory pieces the whole process was automated (online), hassle-free and fast; the replacement piece arrived within a week;

assembly was easy (but then, I have a lot of IKEA experience ;)

the shape means there's room for essentials on the same level as the changing pad, which means no reaching underneath or around during diaper changes

comes with safety strap (yes, yes one hand on the child at all times, but we're first-time parents and appreciate any help)

the pad screws to the table (through the straps), so it doesn't slide around at all

easy product registration (mail or online)

compact (we have a very small nursery and that really matters)

accessible (easy to just walk up to, diaper pail can be placed right next to it without being in the way, great to be face-to-face with the kiddo while dealing with the "business" end from the easiest angle)

color matches other brands (perfect with birch cribs from IKEA and the size matches their Gulliver better than the Gulliver table itself!)

Cons:

flimsy side shelves (but then, they were so easy to just drop into slots, and don't really need to be any sturdier; and we can always glue them down later on)

flimsy, rectangular pad cover (it just doesn't fit a pointed pad, though at a push it can be stretched over it; I just made my own covers and don't consider that a drawback at all)

Somebody's mentioned that already, but it was really good advice: assemble in the nursery. Otherwise, you may not be able to get it through the door.

Overall, super happy with the purchase.

EDIT: after 3 months of actually using the table and having compared it to others (while visiting with our baby), I'd like to add:

the height seems more comfortable than others (I'm 5'7" and find most top-of-a-chest-of-drawers changing tables too high to access easily)

the side areas make it not only more comfortable for storing wipes and creams, but also provide extra safety buffer zone I feel much more comfortable changing my baby facing me with extra shelving around him, than sideways on friends' tables having to press myself against the table to make sure he doesn't accidentally slip off with one sudden movement

con: side inserts are not moisture-resistant any water left to dry will make the laminate bubble up, and oil seeps underneath and stains if that kind of thing bothers you, consider sticking some self-adhesive vinyl over the side inserts before use

I read reviews before buying and decided upon this one because of the angle of the baby and the angled sides made me feel more secure that my baby would not fall off. The Rubbermaid Heavy Duty Utility Cart is exactly what we needed for use in our shop production area. Contemporary Home Office Cube Bookcase Display Shelves

As echoed by other reviewers, this was the most frustrating piece of furniture that I've ever had the displeasure of putting together.

Material quality is middling, instructions are poor, end product is middling, but it ends up looking pretty nice.

I'm the type of person that other people come to when they can't put furniture together and I still had MULTIPLE problems putting this together.

1) For the descending pyramid shelves, there are 3 shorter pieces of varying sizes and 3 tall pieces all the same size (for the two left shelves).

2) These three tall pieces have a "left-right-center" relationship that is not labeled, not clear, not indicated in the instructions.

3) Furthermore the "center" piece has a "north-south" orientation that is not labeled, not clear, not indicated in the instructions (this is the inexcusable one)

4) The screw-holes are not counter-sunk on the bottom or the top. I ended up partially counter-sinking the top screw-holes so I didn't have dumb screws sticking 1/16" out of the top with a sticker on top. On the bottom, I covered them with felt and plan on not dragging it across the floor.

IF YOU DO BUY THIS:

1) Separate the 3 tall pieces. Determine "left-right-center" by looking at the unfinished *back* of the bookshelf. There is a lap/groove that the cardboard back fits into. Make sure that the center piece has no raised lap/groove protrusions.

2) Determine the "north-south" orientation of that "center" piece. I think the only way to determine this is with a damned tape measure. Make sure that the height from the bottom-most holes to the ground are consistent otherwise you will be disassembling the whole thing, popping the nails out of the back, forcing the glue off the top and bottom dowels, flipping, regluing, renailing the center piece and generally getting a lot more frustrated than necessary.

There are similar products by IKEA that can get you a similar effect and are of a much higher general build quality.

All that being said, the end product ends up looking fairly nice.

It would be easy for this product to get four stars:

1) Label the pieces vertical pieces: 1,2,3,4,5,6.

2) Put an "up arrow" on piece #2.

For five stars it would have to be made of more solid material and the shelves would have to fit better between the vertical supports.

If you'd like to continue the pyramid effect, you can get the IKEA "Billy" 15" wide shelf (these shelves are ~10" wide) and slide to the left. There is a slight color variation but it's in the same general tone and not very noticeable. This approximately doubles the amount of linear-feet of shelving if you have a lot of books. For *yet more* storage, you can make sure your ceiling permits it and get another Billy with the extra ~15" tall top-extender. I haven't had the need to go that far but it's good to know there will be a good-looking option for expanding.

When I bought this I thought I was going to spend an entire weekend

assembling this piece of furniture, as I had read pretty much all the

reviews. But I said to myself that was not rocket science and started

by elimination to identify all the parts from page 2 & 3. Now if you are

looking very attentively, you may see on the side they are numbered -

at least some of them (red ink) If you're color blind, forget it...

The great disadvantage is that in the aseembly manual you do not see

the finished product numbered with all the parts they are numbered

in steps, but not all together so you have to figure it out yourself.

Here is how I got it.

*Ok, so parts number 10, 11, 12 & 13 are the back part and logically are

very thin you can see that in the drawing, just one line, not double.

*All these checked, I looked for the three vertical pieces that have the

same size and I could identify the one that is on the side as on one side

had no holes in it. That is number 8. The other ones are number 7 and 4.

I could see no diference, except that number seven was numbered.

* Now I had four more pieces of different sizes and I could notice that

the longest of them had six pairs of holes on one side so I realized that

was the bottom part number 6.

* Then of course you have three other vertical parts in descending order,

they are in order 3, 1 & 5, the last one being the smallest.

*I noticed three small parts having the same size. Here when I looked back on

the inventory list from pages 2 and 3, to see what number they are, I finally

realized that they numbered the pieced with the number that corresponds to each

one of them, no wonder is called parts identification, duhhhhh!!!

* Ok, so from then on it was pretty easy and obvious.

Anyhow, in order to make your job easier, I measured all the pieces. They

are as follows:

# 8,7 & 4 68 in

# 6 55 in

# 3 51 in

# 1 34 in

# 5 17.5 in

3 pieces # 2 11 in

9 pieces # 14 they are the shelves, no need to measure those. They come

in a separate box, together with three pieces on the # 2.

# 9 the horizontal top 22.5 in.

I did not measure the back parts as they are pretty obvius due to their thickness.

Tips:

do not try to assembly them as you think, follow the steps.

pay attention when you joint # 2 with # 1 from step 1; it

has to be like in the drawing that shows the big holes for

camlock on the front left side of the piece # 1 and the

plastic filled holes for the revolve screws on # 2 go on the

right side...

One more thing though, I have to warn you, you pay 60$ for shipping

and you expect the top service. Not this, I got the package on one

side opened and clearly damaged due to being moved from one Fedex

truck to the other. I would not have signed for it had I seen it, but

since I live in a gated community, they left the parcel at the leasing

office. But all is good when it ends good :).

Sorry if I did not express myself in technical terms, after all I am

a woman that had never seen camlock screws before. I just happen to

be very practical and have always welcomed whatever challenged my brain.

This piece looks nice once constructed. The dark brown finish is great!

However from the description and pictures online, I was under the impression that the shelves were screwed into the walls of the unitthey are not. They simply rest on pegs. The shelves do not fit tightlythey slide in an out without any resistence.

Also, the pieces have no sort of labeling system. You have to guess based on the pictures in the diagram which piece is which. The instructions have diagrams and they label pieces as "1,2,3" etc, however the actual pieces are not labeled, so it's a guessing game.

Hardly enough glue to properly secure the dowels. You really have to think ahead to make sure you don't use up all the glue before finishing.

In all, this piece could really scare a person upon arrival. I let it sit under my bed for 2 weeks and then I had my dad help me put it together. It really takes 2 minds to figure it out. Once you get going though, it's easy to visualize. If you don't have an eye for geometry and puzzles, this will be more than a challenge. Also, pay attention to how much it weighs. If you are aren't used to moving heavy, awkward boxes, it will be difficult to get it to the room where you want to assemble it.

I've seen this exact same bookcase go for $400. It is beautiful, sturdy, and contrasts wonderfully against my eggshell colored wall. I love it! The pieces weren't always labled clearly so be careful when building. Also, make sure all the holes are level before you nail the back on! The middle of the three tallest boards have the same number of holes on the ends so just be careful. Instructions were fairly straight forward. Again, great price. Love it! :-D

This is a very nice, well built, sturdy shelving unit! Just like IKEA, but way better because it wasn't outragously priced! I had read the reviews and saw that many felt it was pretty difficult to put together... and they were sort of right. It took my husband and I about30 minutes to put together, but we didn't really use the directions at all. We laid the whole thing on the floor as it would look assembled, making certain that all the holes were in line and whatnot before starting. This helped a lot! Plus, due to the reviews also, I had my glue gun all ready and it was a good thing because the glue included was worthless!

I love the shelf and it exceeds expectations 100%. Don't be too scared off by the assembly, especially if you are good at visualizing the finished product. The directions weren't great though, thats for sure. Pieces were not marked well either so you do have to sort of 'see' what it is supposed to look like to determine where things go. But, of course, the unit is stepped down, so it doesn't leave much to figure out.

Overall, LOVE IT! Directions are D-, but don't let that stop you! It is worth the effort!I would certainly buy again, and probably will the next time it goes on sale. I paid $101.00.

This is a very attractive and functional shelving system for the kitchen.

However, the buyer should be aware of a few things. One would expect to use the shelves for a fairly heavy load (pots and pans). That being said, it would be really advised to mount the shelves into wall studs, instead of the sheet rock typically used for wall material these days. In the USA, interior wall studs are placed on 16 inch centers. In reading the description one would think that the 31 1/2" shelves would work with some room to spare. They don't. The 31 1/2" in the description is outside edge of the bracket to the other outside edge. The actual mounting holes in the brackets that support the shelf are 29 7/8". This will leave you unable to mount one of the brackets to a second wall stud. Thus making for a flimsy shelf solution on the non stud side.

The only solution I could come up with was to reverse the brackets so that the support material extends outside the actual shelf. When you do this the very nice bevel head screws provided with the shelf will be useless. Because, now there is no bevel on the opposite side of the bracket. So you need to take a trip to the local hardware store for 26 metric pan head screws/hex bolts size 6. This cost me another ten dollars.

When assembled in this fashion the brackets connect with the studs just a smidgeon off center. But, the shelves are strong enough to do pull-ups on.

I guess this is only natural when a Swedish company asks a Chinese manufacturer to produce a product for sale in America.

this is one beautiful item. it looks just like picture. the only reason i gave it a 4 stars, is because they do not come with mounting hardware..luckily my husband has tons of screws and anchors. also the spice rack onlu holds small spices on bottom 2 shelves and most spices come in large sizes(that i buy)but other than that i love it. none of my friends have this one.

I love this shelf. It is very sleek and really nice looking. The only down side to this shelf is that the assembly is pretty involved, and hanging it on the wall is not a super simple process. I mean I didn't struggle with putting it together or hanging it. It was a lengthy process though and when you're drilling holes in your wall you better make sure you're right. Overall, I love the shelf just not the assembly.

I thought that this wall system was all attached, but each part is hung separate. I liked the ability to be flexible in how I hung it. It was just what I wanted. Seems sturdy. I have some large bowls on the shelves and they don't sag. But a little overpriced.

I wasn't sure I'd like an open bookcase like this, but I love it. The stain color is a deep, rich brown, but the design helps keep the piece from feeling too dark and heavy. It is solid wood, and the shelves are faced, making them appear substantial. The back of the shelves are faced upwards creating a stop to help prevent anything from falling off the back of the shelf. It was not difficult to put together by myself (middle-aged female), but I'm not sure someone who hasn't assembled furniture before would find the instructions easy to follow. I did crack one of the pieces slightly when tightening one of the cams. The only negative is the knotholes in the wood were not sealed well enough, and have oozed a little resin.
