Torrence 64"h Widescreen Tv Stand

My wife and I were looking for a TV stand for our new 46" LCD TV and found this ladder style stand. We were really excited because of the unique style and planned to get the matching shelves. We received the stand in good time and we assembled it to find that one of the metal screw mounts were missing from the left A-frame. We contacted Home Decorators and they shipped us another set of A-frames.

After we received the new parts, we put the stand together fairly quickly. In the process we did manage to scuff/mark up the finish in the process, but it seems like the finish damages fairly easily. That was the first mark against this stand.

The second came when we put our TV on the stand and noticed that it bowed under the TVs weight. This was severely disappointing because the TV fits perfectly and the stand does look attractive, also because our TV doesn't weigh that much. When we purchased we hadn't noticed the previous review that mentioned the second shelf bowed under the weight of the TV Tuner and the AV Receiver. We didn't experience this problem on the second shelf because we only have a center channel speaker resting on it. So, please be warned that the top two shelves truly aren't the strongest and will bow under the weight of your AV equipment, light or modestly weighted.

We have decided to return the stand and invest the money into a nicer more sturdy stand. This stand wasn't too expensive, but for $300-$350 I was expecting much more.

But, I will say that the Home Decorators service people have been very helpful and accommodating. I will certainly consider purchasing items from them again in the future, but I will be certain that the product is solid wood opposed to veneer.

I love this tv stand. I looked for a long time for something different. I didn't want a huge entertainment center or the same tv stand everyone else has. I wanted something that was well made too. This one fit my needs to a T. It's very stylish looking, has great shelves for components as well as a top shelf to put candles or books, etc. Take a look at the dimensions too. It fits very nicely in any area, doesn't take up a lot of floor space and adds nice vertical height. I put this together by myself although it would be easier with 2 people. It's very sturdy and adds such a great look to my living room. I bought mine in black and it looks so great. This stand was also much less expensive than most I looked at and it's worth every penny. I highly recommend this product.

This product is exactly what we were looking for. I love the vertical feel of this stand. Our 42" tv fits perfectly on it & it's sturdy. It has the perfect shelves to be able to display my decorative baskets holding dvds, etc. Ample room for numerous components, game systems, baskets, picture frames, decorative knick-knacks. It frames the tv beautifully, and I have gotten great compliments from friends/family/neighbors. The white color creates a fresh, luxe, chic feeling & is a great alternative to the typical wood color. Can't beat the sale price of $199.99 through amazon as other white tv stands I looked at were both typical (didn't have the shelf space & cheapy looking) AND ran $100-$300 more!! Great value.

I purchased this TV stand to replace my old scratched up stand. I was looking for something with this style and that would match my other living room funiture. The stand that I purchased was listed as Dark Walnut but let me tell you, it looks nothing like my other living room furniture that is Dark Walnut. This stand while it is very nice, it is Cherry, maybe a brighter red cherry than normal. It does not come close to matching my dark Walnut furniture.

The assembly for the stand was straight forward. I put it together by myself in about 2 hours. The shipping cost for this product was kinda high but when it arrived I see why it was so much. You might need two people to carry the one of the two boxes that it comes in. The stand was packed very well in the boxes, which I am glad, since UPS did not take too much care with it.

The only complaints that I have with this stand are:

the color is not Dark Walnut.

With my big screen TV on the stand the middle shelf is bowing down. I am going to have to make some supports for under the middle shelf to prop it up. While the stand is quite heavily built it will need some help with the middle shelf.

I love this entertainment center. It was easy to assemble under 1 hour for me and my husband to put together and it looks great. I have recieved tons of compliments on it and it fits in my small living room perfect. The only reason it got 4 stars and not 5 was because it had 2 small scratches on it when it arrived and the center shelf is not reenforced. it seems to be bowing from the weight of my dvd player and cable box.

I would recommened this product to anyone looking for a unique TV console at a reasonable price

Classroom Keepers Book Shelf

The seller should have mentioned this item was made out of cardboard... for the price, I suspected it might be made from thick cardboard; but I was surprised at how flimsy it was. The directions were difficult to follow, so the flimsy cardboard got all bent up while I was putting it together. My highest hope is that it will at least survive one school year... save your money and get something sturdier...

We bought this for an infant room thinking sturdy meant that it would hold up. We were very surprised when we opened the package to find CARDBOARD. The seller has since deleted a "seller review." Also, returning has not been successful.

They were terrible to put together, did not stand upright, books fell to the bottom of the unit and made for a total disappointment and waste of money. Too bad she purchased these in a hurry and didn't read the reviews. A lesson learned for sure. Recycle a cardboard box from your local dumpster, you'll be much happier!

Everything about this stand was first rate. It was very easy to assemble and the fit and finish on all components was excellent. The glass shelves had rounded edges and were slightly beveled so there were no sharp edges. I would recommend this stand to anyone.

Not the usual quality that Bello is known for. The Faux Cherrywood finish is actually an inexpensive-looking metal material. Design makes up some for lack of quality.

Even at full price this is a very good TV stand. As far as the ability to support a TV I cant say because our tv is on the wall with this underneath . We had a narrow component stand and when we went fro a 42" TV to a 55" TV we needed to use a soundbar and wanted some place to set the soundbar that it didn't hang over the side. This stand is all metal and glass construction and I was impressed with its construction as well as packing materials which had all components arrive even in perfect condition even though we purchased a warehouse deal to save some money. If I had any complaint and that is a very small one and that is I with it bad feet front and back to get it up off the floor and make it taller.

Would have given it 5 stars if I knew the dark cherry frame was not wood, but is metal painted to look like cherry wood. The stand otherwise is exactly what we had been looking for. It came quickly in excellent condition and was easy to put together by two people.

Rubbermaid Configurations Seven-Pair Pants Rack

Bought 4 of these sliding pants racks, 2 for my closet and 2 for husband's closet. Boughts several other accessories to go along with the two closet systems we bought and this was by far the trickiest to install. Instructions seemed easy enough but for some reason it just wasn't that easy to get it into the uprights. I actually ended up bending one of the brackets when one side fell. I got it straightened and installed eventually. Nice that the rack glides in and out. Make sure your closet doors will not block the unit when it is slid out. In my closet there was only one section of the uprights that it could work in an 8-foot closet. The pants rack holds 7 pairs of slacks which my husband thinks is a waste of space. Horizontally it may seem wasteful but it actually saves space vertically as there is not the extra inches taken up by hangers. You can also put two pairs of pants on each rod if the material isn't that thick. Overall, I really like the sliding pants rack, just be careful installing it.

Make sure you have have room for this item. It is a bit wide. Installation is easier if the brackets are installed before assembly. The screws are not hard to install once the support brackets are on the standards. Takes up a lot of space but moves very smoothly.

I got two one on top of the other to minimize the space this takes up. If I had it to do again, I would not buy these and just use regular pants hangers.

Overall the Rubbermaid configurations are very easy to install. Just this piece, it was very difficult.

1. You must install the original bars at exactly 2' apart, even if a little wider / narrow, you'll have a heck of a time trying to put this pant holder on.

2. When you finally sucessfully install it, you'll find this item takes way too much space than what it's worth. In the space you fit 1 pant holder, you can fit 2 x 26" shelves. If you fold the pants, you can put a lot more. If you use a pants cloth hanger, it'll hold a lot more than 7 pairs in that area.

3. This unit costs $50, it looks nice, but in actual use, it's inferior compared to the other parts and accessories of the Rubbermaid Configuration.

Got 2 of these, ended up returning both and bought more of the 26" shelves, far more useful.

We put up one side of our closet organizer first, then tried to put the pants rack on... next to impossible! It was slightly too wide so we had to loosen the screws, put it on, then tighten them. On the other side we actually used the pant rack to space out the vertical bars before we attached them to the wall, but that was a fiasco because we had a ton of trouble trying to get the rack back off! It's really nice and functional otherwise :)

The important measurement that needs to be included with this item (and is NOT) is the interior. It is 10 3/4" from one side to the other INSIDE the vertical rods of wrought iron. If your plate is wider than 10 3/4", it is NOT going to fit in this thing. I really wanted to use my beautiful china with this, not buy new plates! AND GUESS WHAT... My stand also arrived missing one of the rubber feet. This throws off the balance and might scratch my table. This company has issues with quality control. No attention to detail! Very disappointing.

Gorilla Rack GRZR6-3618-5IMP 5-Shelf 36-by-18-by-72-Inch Shelving Unit, White

I've grown to love Gorilla Racks more and more, as the plastic shelving I also bought sagged under heavy loads, finally becoming useless, while the Gorilla Racks hung tough.

But they're ugly/industrial looking. However, these white ones look OK in the house. They're identical to other Gorilla Racks except for the color, but the color makes all the difference. And their whiteness helps brighten up a room.

I filled a wall in my wife's sewing room with three of these racks. They look good and they're tough enough to keep your anvil collection in them (just kidding)(mostly). After assembling a bunch of these by myself, it's easy to bang them together. Once you remember not to put in the verticals upside down, and learn to juggle their delicate balance at certain points in the assembly. But I'm not particularly strong, and I did it just fine. You need a rubber-headed mallet (a few bucks at any hardware store) and not much else. The little doohickeys for linking several racks together turned out to be useful.

And if you need to they're also easy to dissassemble. They are heavy. But nothing strong isn't. And if you plan to stow anything substantial on your racks, these really are worth the small amount extra you'll pay compare to flimsy plastic ones.

I purchased this shelving unit to go in my laundry room/pantry to hold extra supplies for my home. This is my second Gorilla Rack product and once again I am very pleased. The overall assembly is simple enough becuase the only tool you need is a rubber mallet. Some of the pieces however were a little tricky to get into place due to the powdercoat finish making the fit tight. The only other minor complaint I would have is that this product is advertised as white, but it is more of an eggshell or off-white color. Overall this Gorilla Rack is a high quality product that holds a lot of stuff!

Put it in baby's room to hold toys, totes full of baby clothes/burp cloths, and baby food supplies. I haven't put together a 'concealed post' shelf together before; i should have looked at the directions first, or at least noticed the extra pieces, but it went together very well, and I love it. Baby doesn't crawl yet, so I have yet to see if he can manage to hurt himself on it. Only thing I'm concerned about is if he crawls onto the bottom shelf, then tries to stand up. the beam going across might not feel so good on the back of his head...

Some reviewer's mentioned that it was hard to pound the beams in... I have 5 other gorilla shelves that's not this fancy white concealed post version... and I think that the difficulty was the same. (except I finally bought a decent rubber mallet, so this shelf was actually probably easier.)

I'm not concerned about this but perhaps you would be... some of the laminant came off on the edges of some of the shelves... kind of flaked off from being jostled around in the box.

I own many Gorilla Rack products, and they have always been amazing--sturdy, heavy duty, and easy to assemble. I was interested in seeing this rack, with the concealed keyholes, for possible use in a pantry. I guessed they would have taken a normal Gorilla Rack and added steel to conceal the holes--wrong.

The way these are made is they have taken much thinner steel and folded it over onto itself to hide the keyholes. The corrugation of the steel is what gives it strength, instead of thick steel like in their other products. I can't tell you how disappointed I was to see this--it is a serious dilution of the Gorilla Rack brand. Based solely on this, I would have returned these racks.

I did try to assemble one of them, and discovered that the white powder coating had been applied way too thick on the buttons on the z-bar, so when I tried to install the z-bar into the upright, it just tore the keyhole out (the profile of the button should be a "T" shape--these have little to no relief under the head of the button, and therefore can't possibly fit into the narrow part of the keyhole).

Read that last sentence again--the steel in the upright actually bent and tore, with minimal tapping from a rubber mallet on the z-bar. That should give you an idea of how flimsy this rack is. If you've ever used another Gorilla Rack, you will know that you'd need a sledge and some serious metal tools to tear the steel in the uprights.

These are on their way back, and I'm sticking with their traditional (strong) line.

If it weren't for the manufacturing defects, I might give two stars. If they were not called Gorilla Rack, maybe three. But within that brand, these are a serious departure and disappointment.

The pieces arrive exactly as described. You only need a rubber mallet and several brain cells to put it together. It holds so much that you will kick yourself for not ordering it sooner.

If you're still undecided, you really don't need a great shelf after all.

Winsome Julia Utility Cart

Love the concept of this cart. Offers extra storage space and fits perfectly next to our stove. So far it seems sturdy and the granite top is beautiful. The tray is great for carrying things to and from the dining table. We keep cookbooks on the bottom shelf and bread in the metal basket. My only complaint is that the tray arrived with several very noticeable chips in it. Also, the drawer is very shallow so it somewhat limits what it can store. We were able to fit coffee and boxes of tea in it. I also think it's a little pricey for the level of quality; however, overall a good buy and we'll get a lot of use out of it.

I just finished putting this together today.

Packaging: It kept everything protected, but the styrofoam just makes a huge mess when taking everything out of the box.

Finish: It's black. It was mostly good, a couple minor knicks on the wood, but the stone was perfect.

Assembly: The main bolts are probably the biggest pain. Assembly was not fun. I'm pretty good at putting things together and I got a bit frustrated with this. The metal inserts that the bolts screw into slip out too easily, so you pretty much need two people to get this put together. The little wood pieces that go over the bolt heads have terrible fit. Some fall in the hole, others stick out nicely (I assume they were meant to stick out a little). The bottom shelf is probably the hardest thing to line up and get bolted in. It took me over an hour to put it together.

Quality: Pretty decent. I like the stone. It's also not that terrible heavy. The middle back cross member had a chunk taken out of the wood that they just stained over. The bottom of the drawer is very thin. You can probably put a decent amount in that shelf, but I sure wouldn't load it too heavy or with a ton of flatware, or it will snap. The wire basket is good and the grooves it fits into are thick, so you can probably load that up a bit. I like the removable serving tray. The very bottom shelf is thicker than the drawer shelf, but it's not all that thick either. I wouldn't load it a ton, but probably a bit pot would be ok, just maybe not a cast iron skillet. I think the wheels are very nice though. Good heavy rubber and metal. So, overall it's passable quality and what you'd expect in the $100 range.

Overall it will do the job. I just can't put whatever I want on it. I need to plan a bit. We have a small apartment kitchen, so this gave us some needed counter space and fits perfectly into our area. I may add some thoughts on utility after I fill it up with a few things in a couple days.

This product on it's own is a good but not excellent product. On it's own it has a great appearance with shelves and drawers great for a number of uses(Utensils, bread, serving tray, etc.), but the actual stone top is too much weight for the stand to handle. Add an appliance(small microwave) or using it for a cutting surface is really not practical as it is not sturdy enough to support either. I kept it as it fits perfectly into a limited space, but it is flawed as mentioned.

First time I received it the top granite shelf was broken in half. Had to send it back. They sent me another one. my son assembled it and I had it in my kitchen.

It looked nice but quality was not good. That is why it was on sale.

However after 3 weeks of use I was moving it and all of a sudden one of the wheels came off. I looked and noticed that the wooden leg which was supporting the wheel is broken in half vertically.

I am so so disappointed at the manufacturer. I guess these people have no idea how hard it is for some of us to pay and buy something like this. They just want to make money no matter what.

Really nice looking cart. We're using it in our downstairs kitchen which is on the small side so the size is perfect. The top is faux granite giving it a nice look. The cart is sturdy and it has rolling wheels which lock if necessary. We haven't used the removable tray yet but the drawer and wire rack come in very handy and store alot. Pretty easy to put together too. Very pleased with this purchase.

Poundex Corner Shelf, Cappuccino

Heavy weight shelf for corner of room. Much more robust than you'd think from the Amazon photo. At first, I thought the price was high for a corner shelf. I was wrong. This shelf is very hefty.

The distance between shelves is 13 inches. The distance of the bottom shelf back (corner) to front is 17 inches. The second from bottom is 15 inches, and so on.

I put it together in about 50 minutes with one person (me), not two as recommended in the instructions.

The instructions say to attach it to the wall; it has wall anchor straps and even dry sheetrock wall plastic "hangers". I did not damage my wall with the hardware, I just set it firmly in the corner and it leans back, not front, by design, so it does not appear that it'd fall forward unless some little kid was to try to climb it. I have no little kids here.

Like all shelves, I put the heavier items on the bottom. I have no sense that the shelf will buckle or bend, even if used for books, which is what I am doing in sort of a fan shape on the shelves. It is sturdy enough for books. I recently bought and reviewed a three shelf Ore bookcase Ore International 3 Tier Bookshelves Espresso that costs the same as this corner shelf. Although the Ore will hold more books, this Poundex corner shelf is better made.

The Poundex cherry is red and cherry color (rather than brown cherry, as many spray painted Chinese pieces can be). I do not whiff the lousy cheap shellac smell that ruins much cheap furniture (like the Ore).

I bought the Poundex corner shelf based on the five star Amazon reviews, and now I have added my own. Thanks a bunch.

We had an awful time putting this together. Directions clear as mud. Neither Screws or t nuts would tighten. Pre drilled holes were misalaigned, it takes at least two people to get this together(knees and backs are still smarting.) making this 10 times worse than your standard IKEA assembly. Perhaps we just got dud, as we haven't had trouble with previous assemblies. This piece of garbage is currently "put together" and at least standing. It's going in the basement to hold hold garden tools. Not worth the hassel of packing up and returning. Save your money, buy a better peice of furniture.

I, like others, was impressed by the quality of the wood and design, but the product fell short on assembly. First, I was short four pegs, two wooden caps, and one wood screw. Secondly, a few holes were not pre-drilled all the way through, and four were not drilled at all. I had to triple check that I was assembling the item correctly, but the instructions are easy to follow so I broke out some tools and drilled out the holes. Once assembly is near complete, you have an assembled top and bottom piece. The top nearly aligned perfectly with the bottom, but not quite. You can't tell from the front though. Lastly, a few caps didn't fit snugly over the screw holes, and I had to add a little of the wood glue to each one. All in all, nice looking, but I would not buy again.

My first one was missing one of the leg pieces. This wasn't immediately obvious because it did have four legs -but one of them was an extra part "C" instead of the required part "D". Amazon overnighted a replacement unit and that one was okay. Both of them were missing the washers listed in the instructions, but you only need those if you're anchoring it to the wall and they should be easy to get at a hardware store.

Note that the assembly involves glue (included), so once it's together it doesn't come apart.

The part identification stickers do not peel off cleanly, so you might want to have some sort of adhesive remover handy.

I was able to put it together by myself, I think in less than an hour. It can be a bit awkward to get the first bolts in place so an extra pair of hands would probably help. I didn't have any problem with misaligned holes. The peg holes in the shelves were much tighter than the ones in the legs, and that was the same in both units so it's probably by design.

The undersides of the shelves are not finished as nicely as the tops, so if you're putting this somewhere that people can see it from below, such as on a staircase landing, that might be a concern.

Overall, once it's together it's a pretty nice shelf. It looks good and it's very sturdy.

If you are looking for easy afternoon project this is it. This rack comes with easy to understand instruction and even easier assembly. The selves could be a little sturdier but still barely bow even fully loaded. Mounting to the wall was very easy due to the two rear beams that run vertical are exactly two feet apart which match up perfectly with the studs in my basement. I would recommend this product to anyone that wants a nice and neat way to store up to 500 plus BLU-RAYs or DVDs. I am sure after this one is fill up I will probably purchase another just like it.

overall its a good dvd tower. i have a few minor complaints you can't see from the picture. 1) the sides and center tile hide the dvd's that you have on the shelf. for instance the first and last dvd you put on a shelf will be hard to see if your not up close. 2) the top shelf when arranged to fit only dvd's is barely tall enough to fit them, there is about an inch of space behind the top tile so i would recommend not filling it up. if its full you would have to remove a few dvd's to get the one you want. 3) the directions can be confusing. otherwise its worth the money, just don't expect top of the line material.

I really was thrilled with the construction of this. It's sturdy, yet still light enough to move around. The adjustable shelves help hold our media, and also some family pictures. It looks beautiful and matches our other oak furniture very well. We just received it... so I can't tell you how the shelves hold up over time, but they feel very strong.
