I bought this unit after seeing the reviews of the OmniMount which looked very similar. Below are the steps I took to get a huge bundle of wires cleanly running through the cable channel (will post pics shortly):

1. Place the device on the glass and run the cables through the routing hole.

2. Align the device where it will sit.

3. Mark the cables running through the hole with a line across all of them to mark where they'll be tied together.

4. Remove device, repeat 2,3 for other devices on other platforms.

5. Route all of the cables as previously marked, zip-tie'ing them togther as they work up (or down) the back of the cable channel.

I have the following sitting on the platforms:

1. Mac Mini

2. Panasonic Blu-Ray player

3. HD Tivo

The Tivo is the only device which extends past the glass, however all feet remain on the surface.

Highly recommend this mount I have 13 various cables going through the channel (coax, power, ethernet, optical audio, dvi), with a little bit more room left.

I am overall very happy with this product. It's very well built, all aluminum column and thick glass shelves. It's a very sturdy product.

The assembly was quick and easy, took all of 10 minutes before I was ready to start mounting. As other reviewers stated you do need a second person. I could have attempted it alone but it would have surely been frustrating trying to hold the all three shelves steady and screw the rod together would be quite a task. Mounting on the wall was straight forward but again required two people, one to hold and one to secure the shelf to the wall mount.

My receiver barley fits on the self like some other reviews i read. It's a standard Dolby digital 5.1 standalone receiver. about 3 years old. The feet are on it completely so that's all that really matters i guess. I don't know that I would want the selves much larger, they stick out from the wall quite a bit as it is.

I have a receiver, DirecTV HD DVR, PS3 and a Wii on the shelf system and they fit nicely with all the cables running through the cable management channel with room to spare. I think there is enough room left to squeeze even a power plug through there with a little work. My cable count is 2x HDMI (FLAT), 1x Optical, 1x Coax Audio, 6x standard gauge speaker wire, 1x Coax Satellite cable, 1x Wii component cable, 4x power cords for each of the 4 devices.

Also one other thing, I bought this to mount next to my TV on the wall not under it. I was worried that it would look funny since the TV is supposed to cover the top, but since I have a ledge around my basement wall I can't mount it below the TV. It looks quite nice as a stand alone wall shelf just to the left.

All in all i'm a happy customer!

This is quite possibly the most difficult assembly I have had to go through for a product. The main reason for the difficulty in assembly was because of the poor materials and lax tolerances used in manufacture. For example, there are these plastic spaces used to protect the glass shelves (which are a little too small if you have an Onkyo receiver) from the metal columns, that must be threaded through 2 rods. In my package, the holes in the plastic spacers were actually slightly smaller than required to thread them through the rods. If I tried to force the rods into the holes in the spacers, the spacers cracked due to poor quality plastic. I was left using a lighter to expand the holes to get the rods through. Then, once the rods were through, there are there is a cylindrical protrusion from the holes in the plastic that are supposed to line up with slots in the metal columns. Thats fine except for the space between the 2 holes in the plastic and the 2 slots in the metal columns were off, forcing the plastic pieces to occasionally buckle. Once you finish the assembly, this problem goes away because everything gets tightened together. But honestly, assembly would have been much much much easier if more care in engineering and manufacture were taken. Once the thing was put together, I was pretty happy with it, thats why I give 4 stars to the finished product but 1-2 for assembly and fit and finish.

I was very impressed with this shelf unit. All of these reviews about the shelves being to small to fit your components and all of that is just crazy talk. The shelves are 14 1/2 X 17 1/2 so unless you have the Gigantic Super Monster 5000...you have nothing to worry about. The unit goes together as easy as possible with 2 people One to hold the glass shelves and one to assemble and within 10 minutes which includes opening the box its done.

What you get is a sturdy frame made of real aluminum and glass shelves that are a little over a 1/4 of an inch thick So very strong.

The only negative thing is the quality of the lag bolts. I broke 2 of them but it came with extras so that worked out. Just buy some good quality lag bolts and no need to worry. The quality of this shelf is way worth it.

This is the one...Period.

This product is the worst piece of furniture I've ever purchased on Amazon.

To start, I noticed that one of the shelves was damaged on the underside and hastily repaired using wood putty to fill in for the gouged wood. However, it had only been slapped on without smoothing or sanding to make it even with the rest of the shelf.

Next, as I was assembling the shelves, I found that paint was already chipped on two of the vertical pieces and another was VERY warped.

I'm not mad enough to bother with trying to return it, but when I move I don't think my wife or I will mind if it gets dropped 4 or 5 times on the way to the truck, or run over on the highway. Either way, I win...

Easy to install but the directions are limited. Be careful to note when you measure on the wall that the metal support is set in from the edge of the shef several inches. Otherwise, it mounts well. Seems to hold the weight of several books.

This shelf arrived at my home in one day . . . love that! It came in protective packaging and looks great. It is well made and has very sturdy metal wall-attachment dowels. I would recommend this floating shelf as a very good buy.

Craftsman Accent Tables with Shelves

I purchased this table in June 2007. Since then, the small split in the table top has completely warped. I know the table was inexpensive, but to become useless less than 9 months after purchase?

The fit and finish on this table are only fair. There are several gaps between the lower shelf and the legs. The finish is scratched in a few places on the top and there are many dings and knots in the wood.

On the plus side, it assembles easily to a sturdy and functional table and for the price I think it is a good buy.

First table had a large split down the center. Didn't even unwrap the rest of the table. Ordered a replacement, which came with part of the table top glued off center, so that unfinished wood was showing around the edges. Top was also slightly warped, and had a knot hole with a crack in it that looked like it might expand over time. Liked the style of the table, but there were too many flaws, even for the, even for the relatively inexpensive price. On the plus side, both deliveries came two days after I ordered them!

I purchased this product based on price as well as product type. I was very pleasantly surprised to find the pieces were well wrapped with no scratches or dents in the packaging. The wood is solid, the stain applied expertly and the pieces easily fit together. Tips for construction, use the directions by not attaching the legs to the top first as the shelf pieces requires the screws to be inserted first so shelf can be attached. This piece uses both screws and wood dowels on the shelf legs and due to the rather loose construction until the top is attached it is strongly urged that you use a dab of wood glue on the dowels. This will assist in keeping the legs strong along with the final attachment to the top. The piece was sturdy and elegant took only twenty minutes to construct using the pictures although the instructions were well written. One other note, this product line uses a type of screw for the shelf supports that must be screwed into the legs then threaded into the holes for the shelf after the screw cams have been inserted to capture and hold them in place. It is not a perfect system but the top will pull it all together. It is still a quality product at a very reasonable price.

After reading ther other reviews for this table I thought I had a pretty good idea of what to expect. I was neither dissappointed or surprised. The table is assembled quite easily, I did have to wrap some of the packaging tape around the dowels on the legs to make them snug in the holes on the lower shelf. The assembled table looks exactly like the picture. The fit and finish of the lower shelf is not good but also not noticable for the application I have ( divider between two recliners ). The finish on the top was in good condition w/ no scratches . I wish I knew more about what to expect from all the different finishes, this antique walnut looks more "cherry"to me...

I bought this item for $179 on Amazon.com. The price has since gone up to $279.

The item was well packaged as far as the shipment goes, and was easy to put together with no hick-ups. As for the quality, well, it's decent. If you look up close you can see some dents on the corners of the wood and see how the paint was slightly abraded off the front edge of one of the shelves. If you're just looking at it in the room, it looks decent.

As far as strength, it definitely seems solid and strong. I've only got a 40" TV on it but it should hold a larger one with no problem it looks pretty sturdy.

Bottom line, for under $200 I'm definitely satisfied with it. I wouldn't pay the $279 it's up to now (as of 12/8/10).

Product was very cheap looking and of bad quality, Amazon return was great, and is one of the many reasons why I always shop from them.

I purchased this item after comparing size, functionality, style, and ease of ordering. I have searched the 'Swedish assemble yourself stores' and other regular furniture shops in and around Chicago. On Amazon I found the Sonax NP 1608 Bench for Flat panel TV sets sized 42" to 68". At first I thought this would be just perfect since the syling was clean and minimal. The pecan front door and chrome handle looks better in real life vs. the pictures, and will go well with many living room sets. You know what? I was pleasantly surprised.

Here are the goods:

1. Delivery UPS won't bring it up three flights of stairs, but no big deal if you are on your own. Simply open the package and bring up the pieces individually it took about 4 trips. There was no damage to the unit as the manufacturer/seller actually put protective corners along the four long edges of exterior of the box, thus preventing any corner damage. KUDOS!

2. Assembly very easy, I did it by myself and slid it up to its final space on my own. The trick here is to lie your bench on the cardboard box it came in (opened up flat)and then take the styrofoam pieces and lay them on the ends and place your panel(s) on that as well, this will protect your floors when you slide your unit, and it will protect your new boards from getting micro scratch marks that you would get when you slide the boards on the bare floor or even in direct contact with the cardboard. The styrofoam will give you an inch off the ground and allow you to assemble your unit with ease.

Assembly instructions were very easy to follow, it took me a half hour to complete with only a screw driver and hammer.

3. Style Clean dual toned to match most living rooms and tastes. A simple clean design compliments the flat panel TV look.

4. Sturdy Construction I noticed the boards and hardware were all first grade which is typical for Canadian made products. The unit itself weighs in at 55kgs or roughly 110 lbs, so this is not cheap particleboard. Remember, I am comparing to the Swedish giant store products.

5. Price at around $200 this was well worth the money as I would have paid more elsewhere for less quality.

Here is the not so good:

1. I took the 'free' delivery and it took almost two weeks to arrive, when it did come in I had to bring it upstairs myself. At least I didn't have to try to bring it home from a store remember it weighs 110 lbs (55kgs). I suppose this 'not so good' isn't such a bad thing either except for the wait time.

This is a particle-board, cam-and-bolt, assemble-it-yourself unit. It's attractive, sturdy, and goes together easily; one person can assemble it in a couple of hours. If you want fine furniture, look elsewhere; if you need something nice-looking but relatively cheap to put a big flat-screen on, this fills the bill.

The problem is that, as at least one other review indicates, it gets damaged in shipping. On my unit the rear of the top shelf was banged up; some of the black veneer came off, revealing the particle-board beneath. It's not too bad and the location is inconspicuous, so I'm lucky; others may not fare as well. My advice is to look for this is a local store.

As a loyal and frequent Amazon customer for years, I have to say that shipping on larger or more fragile items sold by or through Amazon is not always adequate, and that Amazon's response to the problem is mostly to ignore it.

I recently ordered this for my apartment and I must say, over all it's pretty nice.

The item ships flat packed and the assembly is fairly straight forward (think IKEA).

It wasn't too difficult assembling myself, although having a second set of hands would have made it that much easier.

I laid it down on the foam and cardboard it shipped with during assembly.

While the item is made of a heavy particle board, if feels very sturdy.

It has a very clean look to it, the top has a nice open design to showcase your electronics while providing easy access to your cabling from the back. The bottom section is sectioned out into three different spaces just like the top, but provides a good place to hide your cables and power adapters. The bench came with three panels to attach to the back of the unit. The panels don't have precut holes in them, however this wasn't an issue for me since I didn't use them. I've added a few pictures to show what this bench looks like, my cell phone camera doesn't quite do justice, it looks way nicer in person.

I also order 2x Waxman 4700595N Furniture sliders and 1x Waxman 4701295N 2-1/2-Inch Self-Stick Square Super Sliders, Oatmeal to make it easier to slide around.

I have been wanting to get rid of the monitor stands on two desks to have better alignment/positioning and a more sleek, clean appearance. One desk has two Dell 24" monitors and the other has three. After looking at several two and three display stands that handle 24" monitors, this one caught my eye for some reason.

The legs are pretty big, but I think that's probably to be expected. I wasn't really expecting too much assembly. So many people say an item has insufficient instructions or "the instructions were confusing". I usually don't have a problem things together, but I had some issues with this thing. In the end, it all came together.

Everything is pretty sturdy....except for the "donuts" that hold the monitors in place. It's a pain trying to get monitors in the right place. Shifting them side to side is easy, but tilting them up/down and left/right just didn't work for me. I looked at the item page again and I forgot there was a video. Adjusting the height on the back pole DOES NOT work like that. You have to take the monitors off, loosen the screws, adjust, put the monitors back on, and hopefully you got them in the right spot. If not, you'll have to do that again. There is no kind of quick release handle. Just two screws. I gave up.

I tried to route the power and DisplayPort cables, but apparently only the cable and not the end connectors go through the poles and little balls hold the cables in place. It just looked like a joke.

Short story long, I sent it back. I'm pretty picky when it comes to having the monitors in the right spot and I haven't tried any others yet, so maybe these types of stands just aren't for me. I never got them in the position I wanted and even if I did, they don't seem to stay in place.

The base is flat, wide and sturdy. This gives you space for a laptop in between the feet and the flat profile keeps it from being to encroaching on your workspace. The flexibility of the design is fantastic. Makes it easy to manipulate the height and monitor positioning to better suit your space. I have a laptop at the base and two 22" monitors on the stand and it works great. The monitor can we swiveled to just about any angle you could ever feasibly want with two large screens.

The Visidec VFS-DH Freestanding Quick Shift Donut dual-Display Stand is an excellent product! The base is heavy enough for my twin 24" monitors. I especially like that it keeps the footprint beneath so small that I can put printouts and notes in front of the keyboard for reference while I work (with room for a coaster). It has very good clean cabling options. The setup is quick and easy. It does help to read the directions the setup goes quicker and there's less "setup" to undo and do properly. Real easy to fold and unfold.

Held my 40' flat screen tv and other heavy hifi coponents with plenty of room to spare.

The only minus is the grate is somewhat "not straight" . It kinds of bend like a dome shape instead of flat. If my TV was a little lighter, I might have problem keeping it on the grate. Think of grate bulging up a little bit like the top of a loaf of bread rather than flat.

We purchased a earlier version of this Origami shelf from Costco, and have been very happy with it. We wanted to get another one, so ordered this R4-01W from Amazon. When it came we found that it was smaller than the one we have. I guess they no longer make the one we have (cannot find any model# on it). The smaller one we received from Amazon was fine, sometimes we do not need the larger size. Well I used the shelf cart today for the first time with maybe 10 to 15 pounds on it, and it broke. The metal tab that wheel bolt is attached too came off. Seems to be a defective weld. Sending it back to Amazon. Not sure If I will reorder this shelf, does not seem to be as well made as the original, and the wheels are smaller. I am disappointed because we sure could use this shelf.

Absolutely beautiful!! Far exceeded my expectations. Very well packaged. Not a piece missing nor were there any scratches or nicks. The color is a bit barker than it appears on the picture but it was exactly what I wanted. It only took 2-1/2 hours to put together (and that included a couple of breaks for the phone, doorbell, etc). Directions were well written. Just a note on the tools that I used in lieu of the recommended: I used a multi-bit screw driver, phillps bit & hex bit-(instead of the supplied hex tool). I also used a low torque drill for the back panels-yes they supplied phillips head screws instead of those little tacks that comes with most furniture backing. Very solid piece of furniture suitable for any room. You don't really have to use it as a TV stand. It looks great as a buffet or a stand-alone piece. Definitely would recommend.

These may be a slightly different size than InterMetro 18x18 shelves, but closer than the other no-name "18x18" wire shelves I have which were about 1/2" smaller in width and depth. As long as the shelves aren't right next to each other, they are fine being mixed with metro. Also the wire spacing on the shelf deck is the same as metro. They come with mounting sleeves for both shelves plus a couple extra. They were packed nicely, but had some dirt on them. This appeared to be from the factory since they were factory sealed. It wiped off easily, so not really a problem.

I have the InterMETRO M5-181847C 5-Shelf PrePack, 18-Inch by 18-Inch by 47-Inch and I needed a few more shelves for it. The brand name InterMetro loose shelves are $27 + $6.50 shipping for a single shelf. I asked the seller if they knew if these shelves would fit the InterMetro shelf unit. The seller claimed not to know. I decided to take a chance and order them anyway. Well, they arrived and fit perfectly. Like the InterMetro shelves though, they have to go on the tower oriented all the same way, so make sure to line up the sides correctly. These shelves are a little thinner gauge wire and have some embossed printing on the corners, but the differences aren't too noticeable if you're not looking for them. This rack is in my basement in a corner, so I don't care. If this were in my living room or something, I might put these shelves in the bottom of the tower or something, but it's really not a big deal.

They're metal shelves; they hold stuff; they perfectly suit my needs.

Mantel Top For Folding/stacking Bookcase

Although I ordered the correct size, this piece was off by a couple of milimeters. It did not fit on the bookcase much to my disappointment.

It also arrived cracked and with a chip in the wood.

I contacted the sellers who said that I had to return the one I had and place a new order for another one. I asked for either a refund or for them to send me a replacement immediately, neither of which they can do.

It it too much of a pain to face the postoffice and return such a bulky item.

Just beware that this may arrived damaged and it may not fit the bookcase.

I had a similar experience as the other reviewer. The holes in the top are off and do not fit the bookcase. I will probably just gauge out the holes on my own to make them fit, but pretty disappointing.

Like the other reviewers' experiences, the holes drilled in the bottom of my mantel top were a couple millimeters off just enough where it would not fit. The bookcase looks very unfinished without the top; either you have four black pegs sticking out, or you can remove those and have four large holes on the top. Therefore I wouldn't recommend this mantel top OR the bookcase. Very disappointing!

Bought the bookcase and the top, sold separatelywhat a scam. The bookcase really isn't bad, but the top is just garbage, holes are poorly aligned; thing rocks like a ship at sea. I will probably return the top, but they grabbed an additional shipping cost, which is probably the reason they sold them separately.

I am so tired of getting all this junk from Amazon that I could just move to the woods like Thoreau and buy a spinning wheel like Ghandi. My wife feels otherwise. She likes the bright lights.

If you must store books, buy the bookcase. Skip the top. Throw out whatever you were planning to place on it. That's what I did.
