Good product will order again when I need these. I use these in my work truck with the 11 inch bins.

I have used several thousand of this series of Akro bins over the course of 20 years with hardly any failures, even after ridiculously overloading them, ie 10-15 # per bin. I bought 24 of the sandstone, recycled, ones here for $28.00 very recently. It seems to me that recycled ones should be cheaper than the regular ones, ie typically about $1.50 each from Grainger. I had no failures out of the box as previously reported in comments and tried to rough up a few of the new (old) ones. I see no difference in quality at the moment.

On reviewing my purchase, the price on Amazon has now jumped dramatically to the point where recycled ones cost more than new ones. This is absurd. I'll bet the marketing department at Akro thinks the Green market for recycled items is bloated with cash and is stupider and more out of sync than they are. Faskinating, qv.

I don't know if it is because these are made of recycled materials, but these bins will not take much abuse. In the two cases I ordered, four of the 48 bins were cracked. Two of those were completely unusable. And since the shipping boxes were not damaged, my guess is that they left the factory in that condition.

Amazon shipped a replacement order, and it arrived VERY quickly. Great customer service.

Nexxt by Linea Alton - 3 Tier Wall Shelf

I was looking for a nice shelf for my office to fit in alongside photos of my extended family where I could store a few rather large books that I refer to on a regular basis. This took them off my desk, yet kept them readily available and the shelf looks GREAT next to my photos artistic in style all on it's own. With a round candle on the top, it's very attractive! Might buy another for next to my bed. I hate a cluttered nightstand, but like my books and magazines close at hand.

Two of the pieces were made incorrectly but didn't figure that out until I had holes in my walls. There is no way to contact the company who made this shelf so your only option is to return it. I understand mistakes can be made but there should be a way to fix this without me having to put more time and money into it. Extremely disappointed. Amazon shouldn't be selling this on their site.

I ordered two of these shelves. I can not believe how cheaply these are made. Almost every piece has chips around the edges and scratches. I was hoping I would at least be able to piece together one shelf using the least damaged sections from each package. No such luck though, the same piece in both packages is completely broken or cracked and in the process of breaking. Do not order this product if you don't want to end up completely disappointed.

I got this shelf to display a small mineral collection and it actually worked pretty well. I was disappointed that it was made of plastic and not of real wood. However, you do not notice that this is not wood unless you examine it really closely. It is fairly heavy and requires putting thick nails into a wall. The back board is on a heavy/thick side. I think, if it were thinner, the shelf would have looked better. Not withstanding all this, I like how this shelf works above my desk. There are no large manufacturing defects and assembly was easy.

I bought two of these shelving units, and I'm really happy with them. They were pretty easy to put together, although it is important to be really precise so that all points match up exactly. They hold a lot of weight, too; I use one for my TV and another for my small kitchen appliances and mixing bowls. They look great, and definitely a lot better than the comperably-priced particle board shelving units found at Target and such. I painted one and left the other raw, and I like the way they both look. I would recommend these!

I bought 3 of these to redo my craft room. 2 of them are very sturdy, one isnt. I have a feeling that was all me though. First off, they smell really nice and clean if you leave them undone... the bad side to that, potential for splinters. Which is fine unless you plan on rubbing your hands up and down them. They actually look quite nice unfinished. I have mine lined up next to each other with another long piece of would on top for an extra top shelf. The shelves are great cause you can choose what height you want the shelves to be at. ALso, you can't tell from looking at the pictures, but it's really like 2 small shelves put together to make a big shelf, so if you have more than one you can be creative in your arrangement. The 2 shelves are held together with wooden pegs.

I searched a lot for the right shelves for my room, these were the best price and I definately think I made the right choice.

These are fine shelves for $30. We used these in our bedroom, short term for our clothes until we found what we really wanted, now they are in the basement for extra storage. As for putting them together, they are pretty self explanitory. They are two seperate peices, held on top of one another by wooden dowels. (you can't tell in the pics) They are a teensy bit wobbly but like the title says... you get what you pay for.

And I wouldn't put them in a kids room EVER.

I had such high hopes for this shelf kit enough to pour hours and hours of my time into sanding, staining and finishing each piece by hand, prior to assembly.

Then I discovered that the pieces don't always align with the factory pre-drilled pilot holes on the shelf ends, when you use the screws to assemble the legs to the shelves. Further study revealed that not only were these pre-drilled holes not always in the right spots, (which catch and pull your screw the wrong way when you are screwing it in), but the other reason for the holes ending up in the wrong spots is that the shelf ends aren't always factory assembled (permanently glued beforehand) together evenly.

Sloppy factory assembly.

Another problem emerged; the shelf vertical long pieces are pre-fit onto shelf ends from which a routered bit of pine emerges this is small, brittle, and cracks easily along its grain. I lost several shelves because of these long cracks, and tried re-gluing some to "save" them....

This means that any appreciable weight you put on these shelves might cause the shelf to collapse.

I drilled new pilot holes, and managed to put some of my kit together, but out of two tall tower shelves and a short 3 shelf unit, I am left with two short shelf units that are imbalanced and crooked looking.

My initial $150 investment, all the time to sand, stain and finish not worth anything now.

Having experienced some plastic shelving that couldnt really hold much in terms of weight, I was searching for something more sturdy. After reading other reviews I purchased 3 sets for my mother to store things in basement. Cost was higher than I had expected, but when I received them they exceeded my expectations the plastic shelves are well constructed and do not bow under pressure. As other reviews mentioned: They were easy to put together, lightweight so we could maneuver into place, sturdy to hold camping gear, etc, and wont rust because they are plastic.

I ordered 10 of the Plano 9518 shelving units. 7 of the 10 boxes contained shelves that were cracked or broken in shipment. Several of the boxes looked like they had been opened and retaped. The shelves that arrived intact were fine for our use. However I would not agree that they were "heavy duty" as described in the title. The manufacturer either needs to package these shelves so they arrive unbroken, or manufacture a sturdier product.

Talk about easy to assemble. seriously took me a couple minutes to put together from opening the box to dusting my hands off after moving it into place.. its lightweight, easy to move around, and claims to hold up to 150lbs per shelf, but I would be somewhat weary on how much eight you store on it... its a little wobbly until you start to load some stuff onto it, and even then it can wobble a bit, but its really fine for what I needed. I already have a storage cabinet in my garage and just needed some auxiliary shelving for random boxes of mid to light weight items. fits perfectly in the spot I had picked out for it. Only reason I took one star off is because it worries me mildly that some box may topple off with a good knock or a pull from the strengthening hands of my 1.5 year old son... it would be easy enough to anchor it to the garage wall however... I forgot to say, I am a huge fan of Plano products, one of the main reasons I bought this unit, the other reason is that it was exactly the right size. Thanks Plano!

Pros

* Shelves made from rigid hardboard (not cardboard), very acceptable, should hold plenty, even if double up. Speaking of which, no, they're not adjustable, but if you take the pins out, you can in fact have a double-space. Wouldn't suggest more than double though, as then you would definitely be overloading the shelf.

* Size of spaces very good. They split the difference between not too small and not too large and got it just right. Note, the space width is fairly tight, so if you're planning on putting something over-wide, such as an overstuffed manila folder, don't. I did check and a normal size folder does fit, and that's good, but it's quite snug.

* Quality overall, very good. Sure, the back is thin, semi-rigid paperboard (not hardboard), but all RTA furniture has that. Some concern about connectors, which unlike Sauder and others, this unit doesn't come with locking cams but instead wood pegs, though those are in fact coated with glue so "hoping" that holds out during moves.

* Doors love 'em! Looks very, very nice for plastic especially, looks like nice, frosted glass with vertical striping or etching, not just a solid sheet of frosting very nice.

Cons

* Instructions are visual only, no words. If you've put this kind of furniture together before, shouldn't be that big a problem, but see my tips below anyway, will help you avoid my mistakes.

* Packaging they did an amazing job of packing nicely such a heavy unit in one box, with styrofoam smartly on the ends, but could tell it barely made the trip because the ends of the box were nearly destroyed in transit from handling. Not the shipper's fault, if you know how many times and how those poor guys have to handle this stuff, just that if you might want to return it, you best not unpack it, or between the box being in bad shape and needing a degree in engineering to get it all back in there, you'd be better of shooting yourself, I'm sure of it.

Assembly Instruction Tips

* Pay very close attention to which one is 'B' and 'C' when attaching to 'E'. As noted, 'B' has holes on 2 sides, 'A' only on 1, real easy to miss that.

* Square the unit! They don't tell you to do this, but I've been there before so knew enough to. Use the backer board to do so, and yes, as they show you, do it before you install the doors. The backer is nearly full size, so little room for error there, watch that.

* Protect the unit Be sure to lay towels or blankets down unless working on carpet, you'll be working with the unit face down a little bit.

* Hinges The side that goes into the door has two plastic, toothy wall anchor type grabbers with screws in them. You're tempted to remove the screws thinking you'll tear up the door if not. It's okay, don't remove the screws or even adjust them, just hammer them in and you'll be fine, so long of course that you do each side evenly, not one side all at once. Common sense should do you fine.

* Pegs Yes, dip them in water, that's the glue! But, wear those plastic surgeon's gloves, at least on one hand, for that glue will stain your fingers and it's nearly impossible to get off. Have a dry rag handy to wipe any drips off the finished surface. Dip half the peg in and get ahead, look at directions and do all of them at once. Then, when you're ready to attach the one with pegs to the other one with holes, dip a rag into water and dab it around the peg to wet it freshly. Be careful, the glue will last thru two wettings but that's about it, it will indeed wash off so just be aware of that.

I am using this for my home office. It is in a guest bedroom so we were looking for something that matches the furniture that we have, and it does it very well. With the doors on it, it hides the literature well. When put together it is very sturdy. It is easy to put together. It uses dowel pins that have glue on them. He just need to wet them before you use them. There were no parts missing. Usually when I get something with this many parts, there are usually at least a half a dozen parts missing.

I would've gotten a taller unit if there was one available. I am considering another unit for more literature and forms that I use.

I took my time to put this thing together and found that it was not square/plumb so the doors hung incorrectly. Then they want me to take it apart to ship it back. Well you cant due that because it is all glued together with wood dowels. So I had to ship it like it was and UPS charged me 57.00 to pack it. Very Sad about this purchase.

Sauder Edge Water Library with Doors

I have to say that I am not impressed with this bookcase. I do not think its worth the money and after putting books on it I am concerned it will not hold the weight and it is already starting to slant to the left. Not worth the money and I think it looks cheap too. I did buy the desk with it and I love the desk just not the bookcase.

Bookcase matches the sauder Edge water desk perfectly. Went together in a snap. Looks nice, but made out of particle board and held together with twistlocks.

If your looking for a heavy duty desk and bookcase for years of service, pass up on this one.

If you're looking for an inexpensive but solid-looking piece of furniture, this is it. I didn't have any problems with the hardware or the quality of the piece-the back is the wood-grain cardboardy material that all Sauder bookcases have, but it's not cheap looking once it's on. The doors hang well and open and close just fine, and the "estate black" color (a very very dark brown) looks good. I could wish that the bookshelf-hanging holes were a bit less obvious, and that the shelves had some other ledge or niche to keep them from sliding forward in case the shelf tips, but it's a very nice piece for the price.

I was shocked at the poor quality of this product. The side panels had crushed corners. I asked for a replacement and that arrived CRACKED IN HALF. I decided to put the bookcase together with the crushed corners as it was the holidays and I could not continue to store all the pieces unassembled. One of the shelves was also damaged, scratches and chips everywhere. My floor looked like it was covered with sawdust from all the pressed board falling from the corners and the shelves. Two of their prioritary fasteners cracked and where unuseable. Poorly written instructions. Not at all sturdy. This is a whole bunch of junk!!!

I just bought both the large (3 shelf) as well as this one. They just look grand in my living room. They are very easy to assemble and require no tools other than the small wrench which is included. Of course, now I have to rearrange my living room. Both items add a lot of class to my space and I am very glad that I bought both items. OK, so I admit that I probably should've read the fine print more clearly, but this DOES NOT come with the baskets as pictured. I am PO'd! This item is available through other vendors on amazon and they all sell it WITH the baskets so it is very confusing. There is another vendor selling the shelf and baskets for $75.
