InterDesign York Lyra Corner Shelf, Chrome/Silver

This is exactly what I was looking for to fit in the corner on my kitchen countertop. I wanted it more as a decorative item to hold just a couple of things and it fits my purpose well. Great little shelf that I would recommend purchasing.

Shelf Hangers - 16" Wide X 12" Tall

These are just what I needed for temporary storage, and they went up easily with heavy-duty hooks into the ceiling joists. I used them only single-depth, and paired them not with boards, but with 16"-wide wire closet shelving, so that I could see what was where from underneath. For safety, we decided to tie the shelves to the hangers with small electrical ties, so that my shoving things onto, or pulling them off of, the overhead shelf would not dislodge the shelf itself.

I received this product yesterday in an battered and broken box. I carefully unpacked it, and examined the contents to find many of the pieces damaned. I was therefore unable to assemble it. The quality of the matteries looked decent enough, though the instructions leave something to be desired. Half the pieces are labeled, so I spent 30 minutes trying to identify pieces in order to attempt assembly.

A couple of nice things it has a power outlet as part of the assembly, though the power outlet does not have a ground, making it useless for pretty much any microwave on the market, but useful for a toaster, a light, or other smaller items. I am very much looking to getting a replacement (with less damange) to try to get this assembled.

Update on 11/29/10 I've had this cart for a couple months now, and wanted to give an update. The 2nd box arrived just as damaged as the first, but I was able to salvage enough pieces to assemble the unit, while hiding the damaged pieces enough to make it look decent. In short, packaging gets a big 0 stars, and that alone makes this product difficult to stomach. Shipping aside, the product really does deserve 2-3 stars. It has a nice design, but after a couple months, it seems to be tilting, so that the doors and drawer don't close right anymore. If it continues to have problems, I'll be building my own, as finding a decent microwave cart is very difficult.

My brother bought this for me for Christmas and it arrived in two parts. Unless you're unnaturally strong or enjoy herniation of the back and/or stomach you should probably have help bringing it in your house if FedEx likes to leave it on the sidewalk (as they did with me). The instructions are just OK so I employed someone with greater spatial reasoning skills than myself to put it together. It took about two hours and should also be done by two people. Only minor damage was had on one piece but it didn't show or have any negative effects on the structural integrity. Other than that, it looks great in my kitchen!

Looks nice but difficult to put together. Some parts can't stay screwed in. I have to find another way to hold both doors closed since the screws came out of the magnet thing. Overall, I don't know if i can recommend this. One thing is sure though, i really like the design.

In spite of the mixed reviews, I purchased this product, hoping it would have all of the benefits and none of the drawbacks mentioned, but expecting that there would likely be some drawbacks in terms of quality and ease of assembly. After lowering my expectations accordingly, this product met my revised expectations. For less than $200, it is hard to find a piece of furniture (new at least) that can be as sturdy, functional, and visually appealing as this, which is why I went for it. I am very pleased with the storage capacity it holds space for 6 wine bottles and a standard microwave (my microwave is about 20" and the microwave stand is about 28" wide, so plenty of extra room for larger models), has an upper shelf and 3 side shelves, a utility drawer (where I fit both my silverware tray and a smaller side tray for additional utensils), and a decent sized two-shelf cabinet which is held firmly shut with magnets. The entire unit is set on 4 casters, improving its mobility and functionality as a kitchen cart. Aside from the back pieces, which are a cardboard-type material, all of the pieces of this cart are solid wood with a cherry wood "veneer" layer on top. Total package weight is about 100 pounds.

The quality issues for this product are mostly due to the veneer, because the veneer scratches VERY easily, which is why, I believe, the manufacturer included a brown marker in the bag with the screws, to allow the owner to do "touch ups" on the scratched spots. I think it is nearly impossible for this product to arrive without any scratches on the pieces, because of the sensitivity of the veneer, coupled with the insufficient padding/protection in the box. There were one or two layers of thin Styrofoam separating the bundled pieces of wood, but by the time the box arrived at my doorstep, the box itself was pretty beat up on one end, and once I opened the box, I found most of the Styrofoam to be pulverized. That said, there were no broken or missing pieces, just light damage to several pieces, which is what I anticipated. So be prepared to have little blemishes on the wood right from the get go. The other big drawback is the difficulty of the assembly. As noted by other reviewers, the instructions leave much to be desired. I am happy to report that although I consider myself to be far from skilled in assembling furniture, I with the help of two friends managed to put the product together in about 4 hours. The source of the difficulty is primarily the fact that most of the pieces of wood are unlabeled, and with over 30 pieces of wood to sort out, it can take some time to play process of elimination and match the wood components to their corresponding number in the assembly instructions. The rest of the difficulty is in following the very limited instructions, which thankfully are in a logical order so that if you follow them correctly, you can avoid having to undo some of your work to get everything to fit together.

Once the unit was put together, I have to say, I'm glad I bought it. I knew what I was getting into (imperfections in the materials, difficulty in the assembly), but for the price, it was everything I was looking for and more.

The package arrived much later than the estimated date. The product itself was a little scrached up. The instructions on how to assemble were somewhat difficult to understand. Overall its an ok product. I would recommend chosing a different vendor or shipping method.

Wasn't sure about the stability of this during purchase but it arrived and nearly 1year later it's still a great piece for our sons room.

I put the unit together in about 30 minutes without my husbands assistance. Very simple and self explanatory.

Unit has useful DVD or game slots that I really like-unit can be assembled without them too.

The top is more like a carbon fiber finish on a plywood or mdf wood. The way the bars assemble and the low profile make it a stable piece. We originally planned to mount the tv to the wall and use the unit for video game consoles but it is secure enough I don't have to worry about it falling over on my 7yr old. Would advise it to be secured to a wall strap for kids under 6yrs old though.

Also keep liquids or wood will warp very easily. But for the low cost, small size but easily supports a 32" TV, VCR, DVD player, Xbox, wii, and cable box for under $60 I got ours for-I'd say its a steal. Great for small game space!

I almost didn't buy this stand because I didn't like the look of the dangling DVD holders. Once I realized they were optional, I was sold. It was relatively easy to put together, and like the other reviewer said, it took about 1/2 hour. A small electric screwdriver is handy if you are doing it alone emphasis on small some of the places are tight.

The stand is sturdy, but what I like even more is that it virtually disappears. You don't buy this because you want a piece of furniture that makes a statement you buy it to hold the TV.

It looks great on the wall! The best part is the price. It is actually bigger than what is looks in the pictures and I had no issues to add to my wall. Suggestion use your own nails with wall plugs to hang it . I had to add 2 more extra to make it sturdy for hanging on wall(6 in total). Then assemble it on a surface where it cant get scratched. Noticed that it leaves a minor gap while joining the Horizontal parts but not a deal breaker.

Just like the title says. Very nice looking one the wall but the surface paint is so delicate, you sniff and it scratches. There were a few scratches already on it when opening. The longest shelves sticking furthest out, you can't put anything on them weighing more than a half pound or they bow downward. It's too bad it was made so poorly because it's pretty neat 'looking'. Oh well...you get what you pay for. I knew it was too good to be true!

Creative Connectors Modular Wooden Shelving

The product was perfect for what I was looking for, and combined well with the corner mounting system. Though the product was fairly easy to install, it would have been helpful to include a more detailed description of the mouting process, including measurements.

Unit was easy to install under the creative 22" shelf. Only the poor shipping protection held back this rating. The shelf required paint touch up before assembly. It had noticable chips in the paint on the corner. Otherwise it worked perfectly.

I bought this product after searching for weeks for a perfect small shelf with sides to hang on the wall in my daughters room for her DVD's. While the dimensions are perfect for the job there is no way to hang it directly on to a wall unless you buy separate wall brackets and just set the shelf on those. This is an okay product and will work for my purposes with a little extra invested for those brackets.

I purchased 5 of these racks and the quality of the product was absolutely pathetic. I was only able to assemble 4 shelves as two of the cartons were short 4 of the short beams for the ends. The enclosed beams had burrs and bends on the end of the tabs making it necessary to grind each tab on a grinder to make it fit into the corresponding slot. I estimate it took an extra 3 hours to assemble the 4 units due to the poor fitting and grinding.

So if you have nothing better to do some day, get yourself a grinder, hammer, screwdriver, spray paint and a lot of patience and spend the day assembling one of these units. The completed units are sturdy and look nice but getting there is one heck of a job. The finished product is a 4, the parts to assemble the unit rate a "0" for a 2 star average. Never again!!

Box Came broken, missing a few pieces needed to hold the upper rack together and some of the particleboard selfs we're broken at the corners. They serve their purpose but know what you are getting.

Ulti-MATE Garage 3-Drawer Base Cabinet

We've had this cabinet and some of the coordinating cabinets from the same company for 2 years. After the first 8 months one of the shelves fell down, then, 4 months later, another shelf fell. Since then they have fallen many times. These shelves are heavy and only supported with 4 small pegs near each corner. The back panel keeps getting pushed out since it too is not properly supported and flimsy. We grew tired of emptying the cabinet so we could fix the shelves and fill the cabinet again. We finally screwed in support brackets under the two shelves and they have held up so far. The cabinet does give a clean look to our garage.

I purchased 8 of these plus a bunch of the smaller size units that are part of a work bench that I built. It took a little time to build them, but not much skill. It is helpful to have two people work on the cabinets so when it comes time to stand them up and position them, you don't hurt yourself. The cabinets are sturdy, sharp-looking, and hold a ton of stuff. They are very heavy, which helps to make them sturdy, but also a challenge to move the boxes around when they are delivered. I think each cabinet weighs around 200 lbs empty. I have them lining our garage and the clean lines they create are a vast improvement over the way the garage looked with stacks of items lining the various walls.

Highly satisfied with this shoe cabinet! The package is very heavy because of all the heavy duty shelves. Each piece is clearly labeled and identical to the assembly instruction manual. It wasn't hard to assembled it at all but takes two people to move it to the right spot after it's all built. I received praise from guests often for this shoe cabinet.

Very nice looking cabinet. It didn't take too long to put together and it works well for storing different size shoes. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because it leans a little when placed on carpet but that is probably to be expected.

Shelving unit is very sturdy and I can say the quality is good. I am not too keen on it though.... I am not sure, maybe it is that it doesn't fit my decor, but generally it serves its purpose and fits plenty of shoes inside.

42-Inch Black Wood TV Stand with Mount

Love this stand! It was just what I was looking for. I was concerned about my 42" TV fitting on the mount based on the other reviews I read so I called the manufacturer to figure out the specifics. Customer service was very helpful and after calling I knew the mount would work. Assembly was simple and stand looks great. Clean, solid, compact! Absolutely love this stand!

I was looking for an entertainment center that had a built in mount because I wanted the TV off of the table top but did not want to mount it on the wall. This entertainment center provided the perfect solution. I was also looking for an entertainment center that I could use to hold a home theater PC (HTPC) and although it was not specifically designed for this, by leaving the door, shelf and back off of one of the DVD storage compartments, I was easily able to fit a mid-sized tower into the unit. There is plenty of ventilation and even room to place an external hard drive on top of the tower.

As far as AV and media storage, this unit has ample storage for just about anything you will likely need. I have a Blu-ray and standard DVD player, AV receiver, VCR, DVR, Play Station, HTPC, center, left, and right speakers all neatly stacked on the built in shelves and on the top of the table part of the unit. As I said, I took one of the media drawers and converted it to hold my HTPC but in the media drawer I did not modify, I am able to fit about 70 DVDs and Blu-Ray discs in their plastic holders.

The unit itself is very sturdy and holds the TV well. One thing you will need to do is buy the screws to mount the TV to the mount part of the unit separately because they are not included. If you check your TV manual it should tell you what size you need and you can pick these up at just about any hardware store for a couple bucks. The unit is 42 inches wide but easily accommodates a 46" LCD TV with a little less than an inch of overhang on each side (43.5" total). Check the overall dimensions of your TV but the specs I found on the unit state it holds TVs up to 50". You may want to double check on plasma TVs since they can be significantly heavier than LCDs.

One other major consideration was cable management. Although this unit does not have any built in cable management features, I was able to get most of the cables connecting the equipment nicely organized and out of sight. It has holes on the back panel for cables to be routed through. These are somewhat small and can make the initial setup interesting but once you have the cables through it allows you to fairly easily bundle and hide them. You can also use ties to attach cables to the vertical support for the mount to hide the cables that run from your components in the shelves to the inputs on the TV itself.

Overall, I do not think you will find a better unit for the price. This entertainment center has massive amounts of storage for AV equipment and media and as I said, with slight modifications can even be used as to hold an HTPC. The built in mount looks great and places your TV at the perfect viewing level without requiring you to mount it on the wall. I highly recommend this unit to anyone with a moderately sized flat screen TV that is looking to organize their living room.

The Walker Edison 42-Inch Wood TV Stand Console with Mount, Black is nice piece of furniture. After reading many reviews on amazon, wayfarer, and Walmart I decided this stand was was the best stand with mount for the price point. (just under 220)

In all, solid piece of furniture, stand works well, and the DVD doors are awesome, fills up nicely. ITs not a BDI or Salamander quality stand. But works well and deserves a good look. I have no regrets and would buy this again.

But Some things to think about.

1. it is true the stand does not come with screws to mount your television. its an easy fix. Google what size mount screws I need for your TV, and in seconds you will have your answer.

2. The mount is top notch. Its solid and connects to the stand with 4 screws that are thick and long enough to make you feel safe for any size television. I mounted a 42 inch sony LCD. works fine. There is lots of room for an upgrade TV maybe a 50 or 46 inch. the crossbar measure 23 inches from top of stand and I would not go bigger than stand that measure 43inches wide.

3. The finish was a little disappointing. Unlike ikea products that have a smooth laminate finish, this finish had a textured finish that felt a little too fake. But this is a personal taste, and not a deal breaker for the price point.

4. The assembly was easy but a few places to pay special attention too.

The door assembly:

It can easily be done wrong (IE. putting the door upside down or on the wrong side. MAke sure you identify the right and left door before putting the door fronts on. The handle is on the inside side or opposite of hinge side. The metal plate for magnet latch is on top. Sounds easy but trust me you need to measure twice and assemble once if you get what I am saying.

The attachment of the doors:

It can be tough and you get one shot at this, so pay careful attention or you can have gaps on bottom or top. I assembled the doors while the stand was upright, should have followed the direction and lay the stand on its back.

6. The audio shelves are small, and it take a little finesse to get it right. but it can be done. the connection on the back of the equipment was not accounted for. I put in a monster power box, Sony dvd, Direct TV genie. The only problem was direct tv the coaxial cables were problematic.

In All its a 4 star unit because its an average piece of furniture that has a great price point.

There is nothing flimsy about these shelves. They are a double shelf unit that holds heavy items, or sweaters--as advertised. They claim it takes 15 min. to assemble. As if. Even for assembly-dysfunctional me, it was only 4 minutes max. The box is recyclable and the bags, made lovely trash bags. Don't hesitate and go nuts, buy two units to start with. GREAT for city people like myself with limited space.

These shelves are wonderful. I initially ordered two to put them on a wooden shelf in a bedroom closet so I'd have a place to put all my books that seemed to be multiplying on my bedroom floor:-) The shelves are extremely easy to assemble, without tools, they are well built and sturdy and they look great. They do not bend or sag, even with the weight of the books, and I ended up ordering two more for the other closet and couldn't be happier with them. And my books (and other stuff) are happy too:-)

These are exactly what I needed to use as shoe racks. They are incredibly sturdy, were really easy to put together, and never wobble. I bought three pairs and was able to stack them in two stacks of three in two closets for lots of shoes, and only the longest coat drags on them a little. I can't think of a negative thing to say. They are much better than any other system I've ever used for organizing shoes. I will be buying more to organize other things in one more closet.
