Packaging was good. Very easy for one person to assemble without instruction sheet in no more than a quarter-hour, although smaller people may have need to two persons to assemble it. Includes all screws (although no extras, so if you strip one, you're screwed); the screws are hex, and a small hex wrench is included, the only tool needed to assemble. Tubular anodised or powder coated steel construction, with perforated steel shelves.

The shelves bend a bit under load (I have it loaded with 40-55 lbs per shelf, about a dozen large hardcover textbooks and hardcover and leather-bound books of religion, per shelf, no paperbacks or at least not any paperbacks that weigh less than 3 lbs and anyone who has ever had a library full of texts on physics, chemistry, and Christianity can attest the books aren't octavo-sized miniatures: religious books and most textbooks are bound larger than life) but appear sturdy the fact that it's holding up under 200 lbs or more of books proves that. The contraption is quite sturdy for its low weight.

If you load it down with heavy books, you need to pack them from edge-to-edge to keep them from tipping, although this may be a problem of carpeting or uneven flooring, although I doubt it. The shelves hook over the tubular steel used to construct the cross-braces for the shelves, but are slightly (maybe three-quarters of an inch, or an inch half an inch per side) less wide than the frame, so if one puts a very thin book (many books of philosophy, etc.) towards the edge without pressure from the stack of books against the frame, it can fall through the small crack.

Overall, it's relatively large, relatively cheap, metal, and sturdy enough to hold scores of large, thick hardcover tomes of several pounds each, which most of the particle-board cases aren't, as they bend and eventually break under the weight, due to the nature of particle board. It's enough to hold ~70 textbook-sized A4 or 12 by 9 inch hardbacks arranged vertically, about ~100-110 trade paperbacks or mass market paperbacks of non-enormous length arranged vertically, and some ~150 paperbacks stacked horizontally, or double that (although I do not know if it could support the weight) if they're stacked two-deep.

Overall, I give a 8.5 out of ten, or four and one-quarter stars, and recommend it with some small reservations as mentioned above (mainly the books falling through the edges of the shelves if they're thin) but you're not going to find any shelf without those reservations until you get in to the solid-steel institutional-quality bookshelves in the $500+ range, or solid wood bookshelves that are very heavy and don't hold as many books in a similar price range.

Five stars out of five for the price, which for me was ~$75 with free shipping from Amazon.

I needed more bookshelves but didn't want any more heavy wooden ones. This is lightweight and has 5 shelves. It was really easy to put together. The shelves have a lip on both sides so they fit snugly over the bars that hold the shelves together. When it was complete, I took it upstairs nice to be able to carry it myself and started setting books on it. I completely filled it with books and there is no sign of it bending or being unstable. The shelves are 12" tall so taller books will easily fit. I like that it doesn't have a back, but does have a bar at each level so the books won't fall out. This attractive bookshelf gives an open feeling to my room. I would definitely buy this again.

Shelf was very easy to put together--no tools other than the supplied allen wrench required. It took me maybe 15 minutes to put it together. It's very strudy and was a great replacement for a wooden shelf I bought a few years ago which broke. Glad I went with the metal. The only complaint I have is the back support bars make it impossible to stack books on their backs without one jutting forward.

I ordered two of these shelving units for my loft and they arrived in one week. First, the boxes were not real bulky. The sender even wrapped extra bubble wrap around them. Second, I opened each box and each piece was wrapped in clear plastic. Everything was in each box, no missing parts. Third, the easiest way to assemble them is to screw in each bar first, only half way. Then snap the shelves in place. There is only a print out of the parts...no instructions. Then, after the shelf is standing with shelves in place, start to tighten each screw...but do not tighten it so hard as to strip it. Note: The extra bars are for extra support on the backside.

I loved the product, once I figured out that these arent actually square! There's only one way the top shelf fits on the four poles, so if it's not fitting, turn the shelf 90 degrees. :) I put two of these on the bottom, and added two of the large/wide stacking shelves on top of them (had trouble getting those shelves together too, solution not as easy). Probably the best feature is that you can adjust the height of the shelf in 1-inch increments, customizing it for your space. However, once the shelf is on, dont expect to adjust it easily, so decide where you want it before you put it in place. It's also great that the "feet" screw in, so you can put it on an uneven floor and simply adjust the screw to the appropriate height.

I kinda wish there was one with a large bottom basket as well. I also wish the slats were slightly closer together I put things in baskets on these shelves, as the products themselves wont stand up/stay. I also use it for towels/sheets.

We have a tiny apartment kitchen and this really helped with the clutter. I was amazed about how much actually fit in it

Very sturdy item. I probably won't end up using the basket because the unit is not tall enough to allow a lot of clearance. (for my purposes, I think the unit with one shelf and no basket would have been the better choice). But this is a great shelf and I will get a lot of use out of it.

I got this to go in my pantry that had only one shelf up high. It was assembled easily enough , only problem i had is one of the plastic pieces was broken that goes on the post. I was able to get it to work with some glue, but i probably wont put anything heavy on that one shelf in case it slips down.

This product is simple -it works by putting some heavy plastic ontop of the wire racks. Containers don't wobble like they used to anymore.

My past experience is with ELFA shelving, who also offers plastic sheets for their wire shelving to compensate for the uneven wire surface. ELFA's product is much more expensive, but is flat and hidden when installed. It works wonderfully, and looks good.

The CON of this product is that it is shipped in a very, very tight roll. Because of this, the product does not lay flat on the shelf. The little tabs stick into the wire to keep it in place, but there is a bit of a wavy effect on the plastic -I doubt it will ever lay flat, and it took TWO of us to spread it out because it kept "snapping back" and wanted to return to a tight little roll.

The product is on the laundry room shelf, and stores a bunch of detergent and cleansers. It works well enough for me for that use. However, I would NOT recommend this if you intended to put this in a place that you wanted it to "look good." It works, but I'm glad no one sees it!

I just moved into another home with the dreaded wire shelving in the bedroom closets and laundry room so I'm back online to order more Conimar Shelf Liners. This is the third house in which I've used this product. It's easy to install and easy to keep clean. I don't know what I'd do without it. The reason I didn't give it five stars is because it can shift out of place if you catch the edge with something. I've also had a tab or two break off, but I could use the liner anyway.

When I bought my town house, every single shelf, including the pantry was wire shelving. I couldn't put anything in without contantly have to pick them up when the fell over. This shelf covering solved the problem perfectly. It was easy to install, the tabs hold it in place and everything now stands up straight. I put it in the bedroom closet and now the bottom sweater on the pile doesn't end up with grid marks. If you have wire shelving this stuff is a must have.

I added a few extra shelves to my home office closet. All the binders or small notebooks were always falling through. I did an online search, found these and the falling binders are no more!

It is very easy to cut with just your regular scissors and the tabs help secure it in place very nicely.

Tip Make sure you install it the opposite way that it was rolled so that it lays flat.

This shelf was exactly what I had been hunting for! We hung it over a gas fireplace as a mantle and it would be perfect, except the bracket wasn't cut into the center and doesn't sit perfectly level. As far as being level that doesn't bother me, it is not noticeable, It is irritating that after measuring, checking and triple checking the center and then anchoring with several wall anchors that the shelf is not centered, we will probably fix when we feel like fixing all of the holes in the drywall.

Just looking at the bookcase in the stock picture, you can't help but love it. Pink and purple drawers with white shelves is a nice look, and it looks like it can hold quite a bit for the size. I made sure to read over the product details, something that's uncommon around here on Amazon, before I ordered it, but once I got to check this thing out after assembly, I ended up being a bit disappointed with what I got for my money. When the back of this thing cracks right down the middle during assembly, you start to wonder why the manufacturer didn't include a few replacement pieces.

Regarding the storage capabilities of this bookcase, the drawers are the best thing about it, even if they're made of canvas and cardboard. The three little ones hold all my daughter's socks, tights and other smaller clothes perfectly, and like the product details suggest, this would hold games, controllers and handhelds like the DS well too. The two big ones below are roomy and great for pants and pajamas, though they could hold a bunch of figures, dolls and smaller stuffed animals like mini plush Pokemon. It's up to you or your child. I really do like the color on these drawers, as the pink and purple look just like they do in the stock picture, not brighter or darker, and the handles are sturdy for what they are. You can remove the drawers if you want toothey're not fastened in the bookcase with bolts or anything. Also, the bookcase unit is fairly sturdy when you put it together. It doesn't wobble around when you bump into it, and it can hold a smaller tv on top without any worries of collapsing. You can put this thing together in less than 40 minutes.

As for the bookcase itself, it's one of the two big negatives about the product. If you need to know what size books will fit on it, and what won't, look no further than your standard Dr. Seuss book. If you want to put these in the bookcase standing up, they won't fit. Yes, the shelves are too short even for those nice-sized books. Little Golden books stand a chance, as to anything smaller than that, but things like the hardcover Eric Carle books and nearly anything by Maurice Sendak will have to be laid down. It'd be nice if the makers would've made these shelves a little taller since most people have books standing up. The other big problem is what I mentioned earlierthe backing. There is -NOreason why it should be such a flimsy material. I'd send it back if it meant getting a different back to the bookcase and not another identical one.

Still, my daughter loves it, and I expect she'll be lining up all her animal, Gremlins, Pokemon and Ghostbusters toys on the book shelves if we go with something else for books. You could do a lot worse at this price, but you could also do a lot better for slightly more. I'll probably get something else in 2 years or so.

I was a little worried when I purchased this that the quality might not be great because of the price. All other bookshelfs I had looked at were close to $200. But when I received it I was so surprised. It is so cute and looks great in my daughters room. I put it together myself and it only took an hour. It also has little straps you can attach to it to anchor it to the wall to make it more safe. I'm very very happy with this piece and I can't wait to get the tv stand that I ordered that matches it.

This item shipped in good condition. Although this product was available at Walmart, I purchased it thru Amazon to take advantage of the free shipping and the price was cheaper. It was easy to put together. I purchased two of these and they look good in my grandaughters bedroom.

No doubt this is a smaller bookcase and yes you will likely have to store most books sideways (children's books being all sorts of large and strange shapes/sizes). The interior measurements on the top two shelves after assembly are 8 3/4" high x 11 1/4 deep x 23 3/4 wide--but having read the product dimensions this was what I expected. Assembly itself was easy (took me approximately half an hour) with clear, straight-forward directions and with all pieces clearly marked--which if you've purchased much "put it together yourself" furniture you know is not often the case. This bookshelf is relatively solid and sturdy after assembly, even surprisingly so for such an inexpensive piece. I have purchased similar bookshelves for twice the price from different companies/manufacturers which were much lower quality. The furniture safety straps are a smart inclusion for an item obviously intended for a child's room. It looks very cute in my daughter's room where it is next to her junior height loft bed and is the perfect height to act partially as a nightstand. Overall this is a decent quality and attractive bookshelf at a good price and I am well-pleased with it.

I usually like all products I get, and its true, I do like this product...once I got it built. Putting it together required more than I was prepared for. There are 4 pictures to look at only. When you are putting the shelves on, you must do it with the rack upside down which means someone must hold the shelves in place when another person screws them in. Screwing them in is no walk in the park. The other racks are right on top of the tiny little holes that are starters. Luckily, I had a friend over who had an attachment for a power drill which meant I could do it from the side in an "L" style while putting the screws in. Im not saying its impossible, but I could not even come close to doing it with a screw driver. I could barely do it with a power drill, but then again, I admit this isnt my strong suit.

The good: Once its built, it is really a nice audio rack. Set it up on the side of the wall next to a mounted tv over the fire place. I am glad I got this rack, and even more glad that I was able to get it built without breaking it...I did break off two screws into each rack. Also, be careful when putting racks on. There are little holes that should face backwards so you can put the plate on the back...I didnt do this and was not about to re do them. But no harm, still looks good. Hope this helps.

This product does everything I hoped it would do. It's sturdy and stylish, with out having to break the bank to get it. I highly recommend it.

This rack takes some time to put together but really looks good when put into service. My suggestion is to not install the plastic wire management panel, it is really vestigial and more in the way.

Put a Yamaha 473 in between the first and second shelf to leave the top clean to pile disk and stuff on but only about 1/4" left above little worried about it running hot. Overall pretty sturdy built takes a little while to put together but everything fit good.

The product was perfect for what I was looking for, and combined well with the corner mounting system. Though the product was fairly easy to install, it would have been helpful to include a more detailed description of the mouting process, including measurements.

Unit was easy to install under the creative 22" shelf. Only the poor shipping protection held back this rating. The shelf required paint touch up before assembly. It had noticable chips in the paint on the corner. Otherwise it worked perfectly.

I bought this product after searching for weeks for a perfect small shelf with sides to hang on the wall in my daughters room for her DVD's. While the dimensions are perfect for the job there is no way to hang it directly on to a wall unless you buy separate wall brackets and just set the shelf on those. This is an okay product and will work for my purposes with a little extra invested for those brackets.

This liner works GREAT to keep drawer inserts that aren't custom-fit from sliding around in the drawer. The Product Description has been updated since 3 1/2 years ago (when the below review was posted) to include the measurements (Roll measures 12" deep x 48" long.).

I have not been able to find Grip It Shelf and Drawer Liner in any of my local stores. I finally found it on Amazon and ordered a roll. We remodeled our bathrooms and for some reason, the usual liner I've used in the past just wasn't working in our new drawers. It was driving us crazy! I heard about this liner and gave it a try. It works exactly as described and stays in place. The whole family was impressed and our sliding around the drawer problem was finally solved. I will be ordering a few more rolls for sure!
