This unit is a good value. Not great quality, but good for the price. All pieces arrived in good condition and it was very easy to assemble. It looks nice in my home office and gives me a lot of extra space to store books, magazines, etc. Just be aware, it is one of those units where all "non-visible" surfaces are unfinished. It is assembled in two sections and the cardboard faux-wood back pieces are what stabilize the unit once they're nailed on. It seems sturdy enough for my needs, but just be aware not to expect more.

It's a cheaply made shelf and you have to put it all together from scratch, but we were looking for a temporary unit and this one fits the bill.

...could have been better. Stacking this case the way presented in the picture would have required a brace of some kind for the wall. I still didn't want to take a chance on the thing toppling over, I opted to keep both case sets side by side. Since there wasn't a top covering for the second book case (it was meant to be stacked), I had one cut for me at Lowes Hardware store from particle board. I'm going to stain it the same color as the book case. Apart from that, I'm pretty satisfied. The case holds all my books without a wooble. Be sure to properly secure the cardboard backing to the case with regularly placed nails (included) before you load on the books.

....UPDATE! (8-30-2012):

Following up on my initial review, I decided to stack the book case after all. I placed some wood slats under the case for hard support on my carpet. It works! I didn't even have to bolt the top case to the wall or socket wrench the units together. The entire setup leans back slightly towards the wall, which is fine. There is no sliding or wobbling of the upper unit of shelves; the weight of the books adds stability. I now have more room...and don't I know it.

This bookcase came yesterday. Took about 30 minutes to put together. The back is cardboard, so you end up with a kind of funny looking back, but the manufacturer provides these great stickers to put over the nails and everything. Looks great from a few feet away. This case fit nearly my entire library from 4 years as a lit major in college (no small library) and seems very sturdy. My only concern is tipping, but a bracket for the wall was included, my drywall just isn't very sturdy and wouldn't hold. I put an extra book under the front side for added stability and that seems to be working great.

I've been buying several metal shelving units in this style, mostly for my pantry and porch. I primarily store canned goods, some bulk foods, garden tools and supplies, potted plants, cans of paint etc. Nothing terribly heavy and my shelves aren't packed because my whole intent is to keep things looking organized and neat. So I don't really understand the complaints in the other reviews for this item. This shelf holds all my garden supplies perfectly, the shelves are sturdy and stable, and you can certainly wheel the cart reasonable distances with items on the shelves. The instructions say that you cannot/should not wheel it with the shelves LOADED. Considering each shelf holds up to 200lbs of evenly distributed weight, yes, I would not try to wheel around 600-800 lbs of stuff, or even half that.

If you're looking for a good, sturdy, attractive shelving unit, this is a great option. I put it together myself and did not have to hammer any of the shelves. I'm not saying it was easyit got a bit frustrating at moments but it was certainly do-able and worth the extra effort to have a really solid unit. Also, mine came with the option of either the wheel feet or regular feet if you do not want your shelf to roll.

Mine was missing one of the connector threads to screw the pole halves together but I called Seville Classics and they shipped out two of them to me the same day, no charge. I have generally preferred the Seville Classics metal shelves over a few Whitmor shelves of the same style. Good quality, reasonable effort, and they all look great!

If you have ever assembled the old nut, bolt and braces metal shelves, you have known frustration. If you have ever tried to disassemble them, you have wanted a wrecking ball. The Seville 4-tier shelving unit is easy to assemble, easy to move, easy to disassemble, and facilitates storage and organization needs. I bought one 4-tier and 3 5-tier. I am entirely satisfied.

The description of this product indicates that each shelf holds 350 pounds (or 500 pounds, depending on which part of the description you read) and the photo clearly shows the NSF stamp on the shelving. However, the shelving that arrived is rated at 200 pounds/shelf and is not NSF certified. It wasn't a deal breaker, but I was a bit disappointed. (I chose this unit over another less expensive one because it was supposedly NSF certified.) The shelving went together easily and is of adequate quality. However, the wheels are difficult to lock.

If I could put the shelving together by myself, anyone can! No tools are needed, although a rubber mallet (which I had) would be helpful. The product is well-made, all the parts were in the box, and the directions are clear. I slightly mis-calculated the first shelf and it wasn't level and I wasn't sure how to undo it. I phoned the customer service number and got immediate advice. Start-to-finish, the shelves were all done in 35 minutes. If I needed more shelving, I would definitely buy this again.

As stated by others, the model SHE15363 upon arrival does not bear NSF certification even though stated as such in the description. Not a minor detail if used in a food & beverage or medical work environment. Additionally I have found the NSF certification usually reflects a higher overall degree of quality in constuction and finish.

Nevertheless I am satisfied with this model, and with wheels included the price was right. Used for storing tools it does just fine. Have assembled many metro style shelves and use them in home, garage and workshop. Strong enough to carry a lot of weight and with wheels a breeze to move. This one went together easily enough although it was a bit of a challenge to keep the plastic sleeves in place while the shelf was positioned. Used blue masking tape to hold sleeves in place until shelf was prepositioned, then removed tape before tapping in to place with a mallet. Overall a sturdy and attractive shelf and five stars for overall value.

Seville Classics and/or Amazon should clear up the product description regarding the NSF certification.

RiverRidge Kids Horizontal Bookcase

Although I doubt that this would hold up as a kids bookcase for very long, it makes a perfect bathroom storage unit for towels and such. It's exactly what I needed.

I bought this bookcase for my sons play room and when we opened the box, the smell from the paint was so strong that we had to leave it in the garage for a week. The smell seemed to dissipate a bit so we put it together and brought it in the play room. It still smells a bit....As soon as I find a better, safer one I will be buying that. I'm disappointed with the smell that still comes from the bookcase (3 weeks later).

Purchased this because the color matched our Nursery. It was not that easy to put together and relied a lot on wooden dowels to hold things together.

It's sturdy enough, but will likely fail if moved around enough.

All in all, the price is decent and the furniture holds books.

This bookcase is horrible. The directions that came in the box were for a three shelf bookcase and we got the two shelf bookcase. The dowels were WAY too small. The finish scratched coming out of the box. It is extremely cheap quality. So save the money and do not get this bookcase, you are better off putting your money in a slot machine this way you can at least get a chance of hitting the jackpot.

1 Drawer Locker White

I ordered directly from Amazon, fast shipping, great condition upon arrival. Came in two boxes for each piece. I bought two of these cubbies. They are a lot bigger in person than they look in the picture which actually worked out to my advantage but I would really pay attention to measurements as the picture is deceiving. I looked at measurements but did it visually. I recommend breaking out a ruler and marking the space so you get the total concept. Putting one together took me 5 hours and a lot of patience but it was well worth it! There are many, many pieces and sometimes you have to read a few times to make sure you are using the right piece. The second one was faster but still took time. At some point I realized I put a piece in backwards and had to backtrack several screws and bolts to go forward again. The reward was worth the effort. The quality is great, they look beautiful in my porch and my kids are so organized now, coats get hung up, schoolbags go underneath and the baskets on top (not included) are for swimming caps and goggles plus hats and gloves. Definitely recommend this for adults and kids alike. I opted to leave off the decorative piece of wood on the top front. Really because I stupidly went to pick a very heavy item by a very small board (not bright at all) and I broke it. I think it looks nicer without so I am glad it broke. I could have glued back on but I left it off the second one instead. Thumbs up for this one.

I purchased 2 of these from Amazon and have been very happy. They work great in our mud room and we finally have a place for all the kids stuff. Be warned, these can be a bear to assemble. They look great and the price was super. I would certainly recommend this to anyone looking for lockers for kids or adults.

This cubby organizer is perfect for our small house and small budget. I have 2 (3 including my husband) boys and they are piggies! This organizing station is perfect for hanging up our winter clothes. This was easy to put together; I did it myself. The only negative is that the bottom drawer is a bit flimsy.

Overall, the product is at it appears. It's attractive and as sturdy as an Ikea-type piece is. It takes a while to assemble, and the assembly instructions could be written a lot better; in particular, make sure you put the long side panels on with the edge with the holes being the front edge and not the rear edge. I am annoyed that the instructions did not indicate this when it would have been so simple to do so. Also, the product arrived with fine styrofoam dust all over it, which clung with static cling which was annoying to have to clean before using it. Also be very careful when nailing the back on. There are no markings to help you nail the nails into the center of the edge of the wooden frame, and if you're off ever so slightly the nail will pierce the outer or inner surface of a wood panel. This last critique pretty much applies to all Ikea-style self assembly pieces, and is not specific to this product. I give it 4 stars because once assembled, it looks very nice and seems to be as advertised. I just hope the drawer remains sturdy over time.

This bookcase arrived by UPS in absolutely perfect shape during the given time window. For several days prior to delivery UPS said they hadn't picked it up yet. On delivery day I didn't check, thinking that it would surely be a few more days. However I heard the truck outside and surprise! It was here. The UPS man brought it into my house for me.

My friend is a manufacturing engineer and he volunteered to assemble it for me. He found it quick and simple to assemble. He used the screwdriver attachment for his electric drill, and said that made assembly much easier and that it would have taken longer with a manual screwdriver. I think it took him about an hour and a half (though I had unpacked everything before he started). The doors slide very smoothly but he had to work on one of them a little because it wasn't straight (it closed leaving a bigger gap at the top than the bottom). That was the only difficulty with assembly and it wasn't much.

The only negative I can think of is that the instructions specify that the shelves can only hold 30 pounds or else they will bend. I expected this, but wish that this had been revealed in the amazon description rather than only revealed upon receiving the product. Anyway, if you have heavy books you might want to weigh them. I put my heaviest books on the bottom (which can hold 60 pounds), and put paperbacks and lighter books on the shelves above. I fit almost 4 boxes of books in this bookcase. It held more than I expected, and I am pleased. I plan to order another to use as an extra cabinet in my kitchen.

This bookcase had the look I was going for but I was afraid to order it, thinking it would be cheap quality. However after more searching, and not willing to pay the higher prices, I ordered this bookcase. I am very satisfied with the quality. It is very nice and sturdy. It took a little longer than I anticipated putting it together, but it wasn't hard. It is an attractive piece and I recommend it to anyone.

Received this order today and was disappointed with the fact that there was damage to 3 items in the box. I contacted Ameriwood using the number on the front of the product manual, they informed me that the product is imported and it would take 6-8 weeks for the replacement parts to come in.

The customer service rep informed me that they could not provide any further assistance and I would need to contact the seller. Boxing up an 86# bookcase and returning it to UPS is not a project I would like to take on. The book case itself is very nice and would have made a nice addition to our room. I would advise shopping at a brick and mortar store so you have the option to return the product if necessary.

As someone who can't be trusted to assemble anything properly, I did have a capable friend put it together for me. He just took his time and followed the directions/used common sense. As long as you can find a stud, these shelves are great. They take a few minutes to install, set level and support a lot of weight. We use them to hold books and files near the ceiling and didn't want brackets showing underneath. Very pleased with the results.

I love this product. I have used it in 3 of our 5 bathrooms. However, in my opinion the secret is to use 1/2 inch glass shelves. These are rather expensive but make a statement. When using the thick glass shelves the items on the shelves are almost unimportant. I have also given this item as gifts to friends and family.

This is a great product idea, and the actual brackets are very nice.

I had two problems with this product. First, it comes with little rubber sticky things to step the size of the bracket down to a smaller shelf. They would be great, but I only got 7 instead of 8 rubber sticky things. -1 star.

The other problem is the hardware they ship with is JUNK! The screw heads I received are the softest I've used in awhile, and almost immediately stripped. Then I had to drill out the screw and replace it with a drywall screw which I had around, which make the installation take a really long time. -1 Star

Besides these two glaring problems, this is a great product. I like the way it looks, and my kitchen shelf is up with three appliances on it, and it hasn't fallen down yet... ;)
