I bought this shelf thinking it would be similar to the one I had put together back in college and found very useful and sturdy. Certainly the two shelves looked similar in the package. Upon taking the pieces out to assemble, I immediately noticed a striking difference between the two. On lifting the first piece (a shelf piece) it fell apart. The slats fell out of groove of the end piece which is supposed to hold them all together. Optimistically thinking that a little glue would fix it, I kept going through the stack of parts until reaching the final shelf, the one which cracked apart upon being lifted and can't be fixed with glue at all. I read about the person who found assembly lengthy and tedious, I couldn't tell you about that as I don't have enough actual functioning parts left over from just opening the package and sorting out the pieces that I could create any sort of shelving unit at all. The wood is dry and brittle and unusable as shelving. It's kindling, and I've spent more than I really should have for kindling.

Assembly seems simple but took a frustratingly long time with lots of scewing in/aligning. I got the two separate pieces assembled but had problems getting them together because they were misaligned. Also they were wobblier than I would have liked. Disappointing.

I bought two of these both came in boxes that were damaged, the box was way too big for the product when I opened each, the shelves came apart. I had to put the shelves back together one unit worked wonderfully and is working well. The other is basically kindling wood for the fire place I tried to glue it twice without success. I would never order shelves like this again I will purchase them in the store and transport them myself.

I assembled them using Gorilla brand wood glue at every screw and every seam. This is the key to having a sturdy result. That and following the directions that tell you to NOT tighten everything down until fully assembled. Some of the screw holes aren't precise and by NOT tightening everything down fully, it allows you to force those to line up. I've purchased a total of 5 sets of these shelves for our homeschool supplies and for my husband's military gear. These are VERY sturdy if you put effort and care into the assembly. I will consider buying these again, if I need more shelving.

The product description clearly states, "Measures 24 inches wide by 12 inches deep by 31 inches high." The actual product measures 24 inches wide by 12 inches deep by *19* inches high. I intended to use this as a 31" high shelf to hold a specific item in my closet. Other than that, it is as it is described.

I bought this organizer for my 2 daughters shoes. The shoes are no more than a size toddler 11. I could barely fit them in. My daughter's size 9 rain boots didn't fit at all. The idea is a great little space saver but it doesn't really do the trick because the shoes really don't fit well inside each slot. Also the slots do not stay put. They keep sliding out of the organizer.

I was iffy about this item after ordering it and THEN reading the reviews. There were good things said as well as complaints about the assembly, size of cubbys, durability etc. I received my order yesterday, took the box to my kitchen with a screwdriver and a hammer in hand (equipped with my common sense) and had this item put together quickly and durable! I was very pleased with the construction and then feared "now the shoes won't fit..." WRONG! Ladies, I wear a size 8 and have a pair of high wedges in one cub about 3 pairs of sandals in another. Now grant it I can not fit my high heel boots cuz by the time you bend over the legging there isn't room for the other boot, so that takes 2 cubbys. Pack your shoes the way you buy them in a box, with one flipped over onto the other and you won't have any problems! (Unless they are BIG boxes in which case doesn't common sense tell YOU they won't fit?) I ordered another one last night immediately! Now that the front door is organized I look forward to one in my closet. I have nothing but good things to say about this item.

Assembly was pretty easy, no missing parts and it seems sturdy enough for everyday use.

I wear a women's size 8, and am able to fit all of my normal shoes in the cubby holes, including my four-inch stilettos. I can fit both sides of one pair in a single cubby hole, if I invert one of them so they are facing each other and are more compact. No, it will not fit my boots, but after reading other reviews I knew not to expect that. Overall I'm pleased with it, as it fits in my closet and organizes the majority of my shoes in a way that's easy for me to look through and access.

If you're on the fence, I'd say get it, just know that it will be storage for flip flops, flats, and heels vs. boots.

The shelf arrived quickly and well packaged. It is easy to put together and hang, and fit the space between my door moulding and window moulding to the millimeter, and therefore allows easy placement of a surround speaker and allowed the wires to be concealed by the mouldings that touch the shelf on either side (of course that is specific to my application). There is no support for the horizontal shelves other than 3 screws up/down into the vertical back plate. As such, exceeding the stated weight could break the shelf, but everything has a limit. I just need to keep my big cats from jumping on it.

We thought this was a very unique shelf and made the mistake of buying four of them. They create an optical illusion on the wall, so no matter what you do, they look crooked. Nice idea, well made, but not what we had hoped.

These shelves have a nice design but the curve does not make them very functional not much space to put anything, but great for small mementoes.

RiverRidge Kids Horizontal Bookcase

Although I doubt that this would hold up as a kids bookcase for very long, it makes a perfect bathroom storage unit for towels and such. It's exactly what I needed.

I bought this bookcase for my sons play room and when we opened the box, the smell from the paint was so strong that we had to leave it in the garage for a week. The smell seemed to dissipate a bit so we put it together and brought it in the play room. It still smells a bit....As soon as I find a better, safer one I will be buying that. I'm disappointed with the smell that still comes from the bookcase (3 weeks later).

Purchased this because the color matched our Nursery. It was not that easy to put together and relied a lot on wooden dowels to hold things together.

It's sturdy enough, but will likely fail if moved around enough.

All in all, the price is decent and the furniture holds books.

Just not that great of a design.

This bookcase is horrible. The directions that came in the box were for a three shelf bookcase and we got the two shelf bookcase. The dowels were WAY too small. The finish scratched coming out of the box. It is extremely cheap quality. So save the money and do not get this bookcase, you are better off putting your money in a slot machine this way you can at least get a chance of hitting the jackpot.

Organize It All Adjustable Garment Rack with Shelf

I bought this rack because I live in the city because I don't have any closet space and a small room and this was relatively small and cheap. It hasn't even been 3 months and the rack broke. I didn't even fill the rack half full of clothing when the metal poles at the top sank into the metal poles at the bottom (the only thing holding the metal poles up is the pressure from a piece of plastic where the metal poles connect). So I could live with the sunken rack, but the plastic on the bottom where the wheels are completely snapped in half...save the $30 and try to buy a REAL wardrobe!

i am very happy with the price, and the look. it was easy to put togeather(15 minutes) as its price suggests, it is upon completion a little flimsy, it cannot handle to be fully loaded with heavy clothing. i use it for ski clothing for two and it works very well.

Once you are done assembling it you can hang any coat or garment. Easily you can hang 6-8 jackets and keep stuff on the top rack and shoes beneath. The unit maintains stability and is fully mobile. As long as you have space to keep it this rack should be fine.

Don't buy this item unless you're only planning to use it for a few items of clothing. I filled up the rack and it started leaning. Finally, tonight it broke sending all of my clothes onto the floor with a loud crash. It's been less than a year since I bought it and the plastic pieces just broke. Buy something sturdier!!

I bought this rack a few weeks ago upon moving into an apartment with little closet space. It wasn't too difficult to put together, but the bars that go on top as a shelf constantly were falling out. We bought this table as a kitchen workspace for a side business I run making chocolates. It is sturdy and provides a nice work space. The bottom shelf can be adjusted to whatever height you like, but it helps to have two people and a level to get it set up initially.

Mine arrived with several cosmetic defects, mostly bent, dented, or scuffed corners, but that doesn't effect the table's usefulness. Easy to wipe down. Nice size for my needs. I think it may be bowed a bit, dippin in the center, but it works fine for my purposes.

Mini Empire Kitchen Island

This is definitely not "easy" to assemble, but it has a lot of parts and you can choose which side you want the pull out cutting board which means you have to be able to understand perspective. The key to assembly is identifying and organizing all parts, and then just following instructions. It took me 3 hours while watching a football game.

I searched long and hard to find the perfect island and ended up with this one because it looked like it had the most actual wood. Except for the sides, which seem far too thin for the quality of the rest of the island, I'm very pleased. You wouldn't notice the flimsy sides unless something bashed into them really hard. My husband pointed out that they may do this for weight reasons. I don't know. It doesn't detract from the look.

It packs a lot of storage space into a small footprint, which I like. I store my mixing bowls in the top and pot lids in the bottom.

The prior reviewer must have had bad luck and received an off piece or something, because everything fit perfectly and the doors close fine. The top was a tiny bit rough in places, but a little sandpaper and mineral oil fixed that.

Assembly did take a while, but my husband did most of it himself. I helped hold pieces for him at a couple points when he was joining everything together near the end, so those parts were definitely easier with two people. We didn't measure each screw and it still went fine. I sorted them into prep bowls beforehand.

The pull out counter bit is almost the perfect height for a five year old to use as a counter. My son loves to measure out ingredients for bread, muffins and cookies while I'm making something else on the taller countertop. So it's a fun parent/child cooking space.

I consider my husband a pretty good handyman working with everything from plumbing to electrical to building furniture from scratch before but this was a BEAR to assemble. The biggest problem is that the parts are not labeled. You have to individually measure each one (down to the 1/8 in.) to be able to tell which is which. After over 4 hours! of assembly time (with me helping hold things) the unit looks fairly nice but the doors do not close properly. They stick at the top and will require some heavy sanding to fix. The butcher block top also looks very nice and appears to be well made except it is not sanded smooth in places. Overall, it really is a good looking piece but for well over $500 I expected an easier assembly and a lot better fit and finish.

The description says this cabinet has TWO side pull-outs, but in fact, it only has one, unless you count the drawer as a pull-out. It came completely, and I do mean COMPLETELY, unassembled, with a 40 page set of nearly undecipherable instructions. None of the parts were labeled, and each one had to be measured to match it up with the parts list. It took me about 5 min to figure out I was never going to get this thing together myself, and ended up hiring a professional carpenter to put it together. It took him close to 4 hours, and it turned out some of the wooden screw hole covers and a couple of screw were short. He substituted the screws, but the covers are an odd size and I had to send a form (enclosed in the box) to the company to request "spare" parts. I have not heard back.

Once assembled, the unit feels sturdy and looks good although it was very much lighter than the photo, and I ended up staining it to get the "honey oak" color. Also. the butcher block was very rough and needed a lot of sanding.

Having said all that, the unit does look good in my kitchen, it is easy to move, and it is a good work height. But I will never order another item from this company unless it comes fully, or nearly fully assembled!
