Island looks great, is easy to put together. We had it set up for 2 days and the first guests who sat down to eat, leaned their elbows on the table flap and it fell apart. Everything about the table we love, but the one piece that so obviously needs to be of sturdy construction is held up with tiny 1/4 inch wood screws, a flimsy hinge and poor design. Once somone puts the slightest amount of weight on the table flap the screws rip out of the wood and the hinges bend to a useless shape. We are so disappointed in this piece that I would not recommend it to anyone, unless you never plan to put the flap up and use it as a table.

If you have patience, I'm sure one person could manage the construction of this island w/ some effort. I would have likely needed help, considering I'm a 5' tall chick. ...My boyfriend, thankfully, is VERY handy, and he did it all himself after I dragged the boxes in from the front door. He had this bugger together in less than an hour, all on his own. --He usually hates when I order things online, but he could not stop commenting on how well constructed the pieces were (real wood), and how easy this was to put together.

Aside from the high price tag, I decided it was worth it, and have admired it more and more over time.

I'm uncertain what problems people may have had with assembly or construction with the 'leaf' falling down on them (I almost did NOT order this product due to those reviews), but I've had several young children, adults, construction workers, and my lazy-self all leaning up against the leaf, and it holds just fine...real wood and all. Just make sure you 'secure' the holders for it, and we've had no troubles at all.

Everyone comments that it looks like it was built especially for my kitchen, but I know I can take it with me if ever I move. The extra storage is WAY a god-send, and the quality of the wood and pieces are the best I've seen in stores OR in 'self-assembly' furniture.

Well I never give a 5 rating, so that being said...I thought my husband was either going to kill my sons who were helping him or have a heart attack from frustration. However, I don't think anything solid should beTHAT easy...now that its together, took a little over two hours but he's a perfectionist, it looks great, heavy, solid, long overdo in my kitchen. I had read a review that the bar stools suggested with it were too high at 29 in., but I ordered them and I'm 5'8 so I have long legs and am not tiny but there is more than enough room to sit right under the leaf with several inches of room. Very comfortable. We actually ordered 3 stools and though only two fit under the leaf, its still comfortable to place a stool on the ends for more seating. I was also concerned from the picture that the holes for the adjustable shelves would be an eyesore but I don't even notice them. Now I just have to decide how I'm going to use the extra storage. Highly recommend.

Great piece of furniture! We love it. Although the saddle stools that were recommended are too high for the breakfast bar. The 24' saddle stools would be a much better height.

This island came quickly after we ordered it via FedEx. The product was well package and not damaged during shipping. Initially the assembly was a challenge. Following the assembly instructions to assembly the back while it was lying flat did not work. You cannot lift the back for the next step of attaching it to the base. The solution was to begin the assembly with the back in the vertical mode and attach it to the base piece by piece. This works. Next the holes to attach the top to the body did not line up. I had to put in a different screw for one hole out of four. The screws attaching the leaf were smaller that those used on the other side of the hinge. I went and got a larger screw for this hinge. I used #6-1/2 screws to make a stronger joint. Also add a little oil to the hinges for smooth action.

Quality is pretty good. There were no scratches on any of the wood. Beware, the central area for the television is 50 inch television, fitting it would be questionable. Putting it together is no problem if you have the tools and are somewhat handy, but at times an extra hand is needed. Overall, a pretty good buy.

i would be lying to say that it was easy to assemble....some hardware was difficult to fit into existing holes, but once i was on a role,,,it went up like a dream!! i thought for sure that it would be impossible to push upright, once assembled, but surprisingly easy to stand upright!

I was looking for some storage solutions for my entrance. I bought the 24" deep shelving so that I could use Rubbermade Roughtotes lengthwise. They are so easy to assemble, and you can put them together in different sections. I even joined them to make a long unit. By adding more sections of poles I made one end higher due to my slanted ceiling. You can get accessories to go with this type of shelving. The possibilites are endless. I ended up getting more units for the basement.

Was exactly what I needed and holds a lot of heavy items. I didn't put it together myself so I can't comment on how easy it was to do.

The baskets I got with this bookcase were very poor quality. They are unraveling all over. They also have two metal pegs on the bottom that scratch the wood finish of the Shelf. i had to Cover the entire bottom of my baskets with felt and line the insides because they scratch and knick everything they come in contact with. The pictured baskets look a lot smoother, nothing like the ones I got. The shelf itself is pretty good quality.

looks more black compared to the rest of my furniture but still looks great! easy to put together. if i had the space i would purchase a 2nd one.

I bought this to serve as an organizational tool for my family. I needed something to hold things that I found randomly around the house. With this unit there is room for everyone to have their own basket. The baskets are light enough with two handles for my kids to carry their own things to their rooms each night. The baskets are made of cornhusk, so they aren't the sturdiest material but they are of a size that would be easy to replace later on if necessary. The unit itself is very easy to put together and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality, considering it came in pieces. The back panels are a thin plywood rather than the cardboard you typically find on build it yourself furniture. Overall the piece looks classy and fits in nicely with a contemporary or traditional decor. I do recommend.

I like this shelf a lot. It was pretty easy to put together by yourself (though I think it recommends two people). The baskets are a bit smaller than I would have thought but they're still useful for storage. The whole thing is a lot sturdier than I was anticipating based on the cost.

The color is true to the picture... a dark brown, espresso color which goes great with the similar colored furniture in my apartment.

All in all, I would recommend this product, just make sure that you check all the pieces before putting it together because Amazon cannot send you ONE replacement piece... just a whole new one.

One shelf on my lazy-susan broke and needed to be replaced. This product was a perfect fit and seems to be sturdier than the original. I wish it had come with installation instructions, but I found them on the manufacturers web site. I was a bit intimidated when I realized how much was involved in replacing this (you have to take the entire unit out of the cabinet, slide the old shelf off, slide the new one on and then put it back and adjust it), but it wasn't difficult and I completed the project in under an hour (I'm a VERY amateur do-it-yourselfer). It was well worth my time, when you consider what a professional would have charged me to do the work.

After our shelves cracked after 15 years we ordered these and they were an exact fit. Just removed the screws and easily installed these as all the holes lined up same as the old one.

Would recommend if you are wanting to replace a cracked shelf with the exact same for a good price. Thought of getting a more expensive one, but the first one lasted 16 years so thought we would have new cabinets by the next 16 years.

I was delighted to find this shelf on line after discouraging conversations with Loews and Home Depot employees. It was an exact replacement for the lower shelf of my lazy Susan. There are no instruction but the operation is easy. The central pole of the lazy Susan assembly is of adjustable height and needs to be shortened. One does this by losening the screw that fastens the two components of the pole. I unscrewed the shelves from the cabinet door and pulled out the whole shelf assembly to clean everything and the inside of the cabinet while it was empty, but I am not sure if it is really needed to do all this disassembly. My only goof was not tightening the screw attaching the shelf to the pole hard enough when I reassembled the cabinet the shelf slipped down the first time I placed things on it. :-) The second time I used a better screwdriver, the shelf is still in place. It took me about one hour including the cleaning time.

Surprised this item is actually made of real wood, not particle board. Item arrived quickly and was really easy to put together. The color wasnt quite what i expected. color should be called black instead of espresso, but overall good value for the money

I'm very happy with this purchase (about 1 month into ownership). Quick delivery, no dings/dents/missing pieces, easy assembly (I glanced at the instructions once it's not complex). Two sets of hands would have helped at one point, but I managed on my own just fine. Quality & finish were fine (passed my inspection even though I can be a fussy perfectionist). I did take the time to orient the legs so the two 'best' pieces are in front where they're the most visible. The back is up against the couch, so the two pieces I deemed not 100% (they're still fine) were out of view. Nice & stable; looks great in different lighting situations. The dimensions were just right for the room/7-ft couch by the way. I'd buy it again.

If I saw this item in a store at this price I would not have purchased it. The table is not what I expected. I give it three stars only because it is mostly real wood and arrived in perfect condition. What bothers me the most is the fact that the online picture is deceiving inthat it appears to curve around the front in a pleasing manner. It does not. The drawer is recessed and flat and feels cheap and wiggly. Just not worth the money.

Arrived with styro in flakes. Mostly broken pieces. Fortunately, no damage to parts. However, greasy finger prints on several parts. Parts box opened and resealed. Either this item was returned or too much Low Mein in the assembly line in China. I'm keeping item since I don't want to return/disassemble the piece. I know that will be the instruction if I issue a complaint. The piece is nice for what it is but was over priced in my opinion. Should be under $100.00. Especially with the greasy finger prints, etc.

I have been eyeing this table for months since we moved into our house 8 months ago. It is a beautiful, deep espresso color that seems to made from high-quality wood. It was super-easy to assemble, and it is extremely sturdy. It makes quite a statement in our entryway right by the door. I really don't have anything bad to say about this table. For us, it is absolutely perfect and, for the price, it is amazing.
