My unit arrived with no damage, unlike other customers. Perhaps Techcraft/Amazon have been learning from previous experiences.

Installation wasn't hard and I was able to put it together in ~2.5 hours on my own. The shipped package that the unit arrives in is quite heavy (~100 lbs). I opened it up in my foyer and took the pieces in. Certain individual pieces can be heavy too (~10-15 lbs). The assembly steps are ok; they just tell you how to the pieces connect together. However, as I was alone, some steps did require some creativity e.g. when I had to align to larger pieces to bolt them together, one had to be a few inches off the ground. I propped it up with some coffee table books. Such tips would be very useful in the assembly manual.

Pros:

Good solid unit, with good finish.

The top surface doesn't scratch easily. That's important when you're placing/adjusting a large flat-screen TV on top of it. I do my assembly alone and can't lift the TV continuously. Its easier to shuffle it step by step on top. I haven't scratched the top-surface yet.

Spacious but not a huge unit.

I wanted a unit with doors to keep our baby away from the electronics :-). There aren't too many units in the market with doors. The doors do have tempered glass.

Things to watch out for:

When you assemble the units, you need to attach thin vertical boards to the back which are black and mostly cover the wall or stuff behind. They do have holes to run cables from your components, but they are somewhat small. In my case, it wasn't possible to wire up my receiver through such small holes and I cut a wider opening. I guess the size of the holes are a trade-off; too large and one would be able to see the wall behind the unit on shelves that are empty. The board is thin and its easy to break sections off. But a cleaner/elegant solution for flexible hole sizing would be nice.

The unit is heavy, especially with all the components/TV in it. So figure out the final spot for the unit and then put things in.

I purchased this stand from Amazon. The box arrived a little tattered and torn, but for the most part the contents were damage free. Other reviews have commented on the aesthetics and functionality of the stand. I agree with all of their comments. I had to build mine and will comment on the stand from that point of view.

I purchased the Techcraft SWBL60. Before unpacking the box, I recommend selecting a large clutter free area where you can spread out the several large pieces. I built mine on the floor close to where I planned to place the unit.

I quickly noticed that all of the holes were pre-drilled. Every piece fit very nicely together. If I was feeling the need to add some force to make it fit, I was not using the correct part in the correct place. Even down to installing the cardboard back, every hole was pre-drilled in both the cardboard, and the unit itself. The only place were I deviated from the installation instructions were the final two steps. I installed the shelves before I installed the doors. This worked out very well. I did not have to monkey with getting the shelves though a smaller opening. The shelves did not interfere with my ability to mount the hinges for the doors. I recommend installing the shelves prior to installing the doors.

To be critical of the product is difficult. It is a TV stand and intended to be used for that purpose. The unit was missing 2 of 24 hinge screws. It came with a dented corner on what happened the back of one of the shelves that no one can see.

This item smells of quality. I think that it would be tough to find a better built piece of furniture for the price. I highly recommend it, and would by another without looking any farther.

Package arrived right on time. Upon assembling found I had two left pieces. Instructions clearly gave website and phone number to manufacturer for parts issues. I used the website and the next day was informed the piece had been shipped via FEDEX. Process was simple.

Saw the same unit at a local store and found it cheaper at Amazon.

I haven't assembled packaged furniture in years, but this assembly went perfectly! I did the assembly by myself in two phases, since I wanted to do the basic tv components set up before I did the doors. Took about two hours for the first part, and under two for the doors. This taking my time, and spending some minutes getting the door hinges perfect. I am totally impressed with the engineering that went into this product, making assembly of a sturdy, attractive product using primarily drawing instructions.

The final test: my wife was happy with the appearance, and even the smooth operation of the doors.

I highly recommend this product.

Rubbermaid 5G72 FastTrack 25 Inch Upright with Extension

I have the Rubbermaid Configurations Closet system which is smaller in depth than the FastTrack system. So when you hook it on, it does not fit perfectly. However, it works just fine for me and does what I need it to do once all the shelves are added on.

It makes adding more shelves easy peasy!

Be very careful. There are several closet organizer systems made by rubbermaid, and they are not necessarily compatable with each other! You have to get the right accessories to go with your system.

I purchased the 25" extensions to add onto some of my existing FastTrack Uprights only to find out the extensions are now thicker 1" vs the older version of only 3/4". I guess Rubbermaid has made some changes to their Uprights and Extensions. The images for the Uprights still show the old version and the Extension make no mention that these would be for the "New" version of the Uprights. I am returning since they do not work with the older uprights.

I purchased a three rail, system with a shelf and two fast-track brackets. These rails do not attach to the fastTrack without the 'GRIPPERS,' which do not appear to be available on Amazon separately. The 25" rails that cost an extra couple bucks might have the 'grippers,' but the picture does not show them... hmmm? Anyways, this is kind of a redundant concept when you think about it, since the rails require several stud-anchored' screws in addition to the 'gripper' connection. On the plus side, I think the components appear to be well-made. They look and feel better than what I saw at Home Depot and Lowes... better fit and finish (silver), but I question the value of integrating the shelves into the track system... no more than marketing really.

Plate Rack with Shelf

This item has multiple uses. It can also be used to store lids and cookie sheets because it is quite large. My 12" plates have around 4" of space still above them. I use the top of it to display cookbooks, etc. It is a very nice product.

I injured my shoulder and wanted a counter or wall dish rack for my heavy dinner plates to avoid lifting. My oversize dinner plates fit perfectly and stay dust free (and cat hair, suprisingly) on the counter below my cabinets. I have a small, old kitchen and the size works really well, this tucks right under the cabinet and almost looks like a built-in. The wood is heavy and the wood-grain shows through nicely in the clear finish. I now have some inner cabinet space to hide the accumulated utensils and such from the freed space. This is nice looking, practical and sure beats lifting heavy, oversized dinner plates. A definite win-win on this purchase.

Although the plate rack is fine, very sturdy and attractive, it is not the plate rack as pictured here, it is a less expensive model. Although I was disappointed not to get the rack I thought I ordered, the rack I received is very sturdy and worth the money.

Suncast ACS24 Corner Shelf

I recently purchased & installed my new Suncast ACS24 corner shelves (I bought 4). Very easy to install! Wish they were a bit deeper but they sure help with storage space.

Great concept. Fool that I was, I bought two sets of these, as they seemed like a good idea at the time... But holy smokes, these things were anything but...and they still are not properly fitted and anchored. I can use them, yes, but would not want to go even close to the maximum weight allowed. Perhaps its a function of these plastic sheds and heat, but this was nuts. I'm a fairly handy person, so this should have been a walk in the park. When I installed them (quite some time ago), I needed a rubber mallet...and a large hammer...and a whole new dictionary of profanity. I'd recommend a freestanding shelf before I'd buy these. Just sayin'. One of the brackets would go in really easily, and then...one would not go in, for love or money. And then, by the time that one was 'persuaded', another one would come out and not go back in...well, you get the idea. I broke one right off. I'm glad to hear they worked for some people, but I'd sure never buy a Suncast accessory again!

I assembled the shed last summer, and I decided to install the shelves this year. In theory, installing the shelves should not take any more than five minutes. In reality, I spent almost an hour trying to make these dam# things work. I have the shed on a concrete slab, so it is level. The shelves will only install on certain levels in the shed, so don't expect to have them as high as the slots are in the shed. If every slot lined-up perfectly, and if you choose a very hot day to allow the plastic shed to flex, installation may not be a problem. However, I would imagine that this scenario is not an option for most people. With the help of a rubber mallet, I was able to install one shelf fairly well, and the other installation was passable, at best. Part of the clips on two brackets broke, but that did not seem to interfere with the installation. One shelf would not lie perfectly flat, unless some weight was put on the shelf. I suppose this is the problem with plastic shelves. Possibly, by using a utility knife, you may be able to make some of the slots wider order to have the shelf sit firmly. I believe if I would have installed the shelves when the shed was first assembled, I would've had an easier time installing them.

Bought my shed from Amazon a few years ago and the only thing it was lacking was shelf space. Well, this solved that issue! I love these shelves! Easy enough to install, though it did take a little coercing to get everything to line up and connect but I would expect that with a 4 year old shed that has settled. I've got a gallon gas can as well as many other items on it and no issues at all.

Ultimately these little shelves accomplished what I needed to do: free up some floor space and help me keep things organized in my garden shed. Loss of a star is due to two things. First, as was the case when I put my shed together and I've read from several others, Suncast continues its tradition of having at least one hole or slot not line up quite right. A persuasion instrument, i.e. a rubber mallet, was required; I think even then one of the shelf supports was not locked in when I set the shelf in place. Second, due to the configuration of the brackets and the holes available on the inside wall of my shed, I couldn't put the shelf height exactly where I wanted it. I needed to go a bit higher than was my original plan. They are still great to have in there, and I would certainly rather have purchased and installed them than have not.

When it came time to replace my small 20-shoe organizer, I needed something sturdy. Specifically, I hated organizers where the horizontal bars were simply plugged into the vertical on either side because as the rack fills up with shoes, the weight causes the horizantal bars to sag and come off on either end sending all your shoes down into a pile!

This rack was very easy to put together, and with a electric screwdriver it was quick. It's very sturdy and the casters (which you don't have to use) make it just glide over the floor. When you want to park it simply apply the caster's brakes. It really does hold 50 pairs of shoes. I was able to easily get 5 pairs on each of the 10 shelves. Also, this exact same rack sells at another store for $20.00 more. I'm so glad I checked on Amazon before buying it there, and it arrived much quicker than quoted in the shipping terms. Its so nice to get a high quality product and not feel cheated. Recommendation: BUY IT!

Im so happy I got this stand. Its so much better then the plastic 50 pair shoe rack that I had before which fell apart after 3 months. This needed no extra tape, is easy to put up, and I can put heavy shoes and boots on it. And I love the wheels!

The spacing between racks is too small. A lot of my shoes are basketball sneakers with mid and high cuts. These don't fit well and end up interfering with the rack above them. I uploaded a picture that shows this. Shoes of this type either need to be placed on the top rack or you can skip racks, which reduces the overall storage capacity. For low cut shoes however, the rack works well. The quality seems good and assembly was simple and quick. I just wish there was more space between racks.

It does hold lots of shoes and it is sturdy. (Especially if comparing to the ones with the plastic sides that deform and drop all the shoes). My only complaint was that when it arrived it had to of the welds broken on the support pieces for the rods. These broken welds were at 2 different supports.

I'm unsure if this is due to poor manufacture or shipping damage as it was packed in a box that was 4 times to tall for this product and wasn't properly padded to fill up the extra space.

I'm not going to return the product. I'll just rough up the surface where the broken welds occurred and use some JB weld. While it won't look as good as knew it will function and probably be stronger at those 2 points than the original welds.

It's kind of nice to be able to wheel this rack out of the way if you need too. It also holds lots of shoes. I wasn't expecting it to deal as well as it did with all the work boots I put on it too.

So, it would have gotten 4 stars but had to deduct a star for me having to do a repair on a new item.
