Putting this shelf together was a tremendous hassle. You would think a folding shelf would come fairly assembled already. Instead, the folding construction makes it very difficult to assemble as directed. The included allen wrench stripped the wood screws very quickly. I had to buy a new set of similar screws and put the shelf together with a power drill. That was the only way to get the hardware tight enough to hold the shelf together safely and sturdily.

I received two of the same side pieces not two different(a single left and a single right) side pieces.

Very poor quality control. Six weeks later, I'm still waiting on the manufacturer to ship the correct piece.

really a heavy, complex kit which requires assembly. Be

sure this is what you want, and that you are able to assemble it.

After two hours of stripped screws, mangled shelves, and smashed fingers, I ended up using 3 bungee cords to hold a simple 3 shelf bookcase together. It holds books now, but I could have accomplished the same thing with some cement blocks and 1x6 planks. It is junk, and I'm assuming most of the other Winsome Wood products are of equally cheap construction. Save your money!

I'm so disappointed that I had to put these together myself. I really wanted these bookcases, I ordered (4) of them because they're stackable and they look great. I already had a couple of them from years back that I ordered from Stacks and Stacks and have been very happy with them. Years ago, when I first purchased, they were pre-assembled when I bought them directly from the store.

I tried for almost 45 minutes to put (1) bookcase together and gave up in frustration when I realized they would not be able to be stacked together the way I expected (this required hinges and extra brackets to be secured to the wall; not like the first set of bookcases I purchased which stacked together with pegs and did not need to be secured to the wall).

I'm returning all (4) pieces and am back to square one for my bookcase needs. Such a simple design, I don't know why they don't come pre-assembled.

This was very difficult to install in our frameless (Eurosyle) cabinets and we used a professional contractor! The support system is not as stable as some others as it relys on just a bottom glide system and the a couple of 'guides' on the side. Other brands use a top and bottom glide system. Also, the pegs which hold the shelves are VERY difficult to remove and required a pliers to take out of the holes. Still, once the pullout was installed and the shelves adjusted, it is a nice addition to our kitchen.

its nice but i expected the support beams to be metal or aluminum. they are just plastic. it is not meant to be used as a heavy duty shelf, but works well in a bathroom setting

I was a little skeptical of the quality judging by things I've bought in the past. This arrived super quick and exceeded my expectations. Put together in less than 10 minutes! Glass is thick and strong (and tempered), the poles are sturdy. All parts are consistent, no defects. When put together it does not feel or look cheap. Used in bathroom for towels and toiletries. Its a perfect height.

Would love to have more available corners around the house to put more of these shelves in :)

I looked all over for shelves like these. These were the most affordable I found and I like them a lot. They look great on my wall, where easy to install and they are exactly as described. Please note on the installation that I'm very handy so you may have some difficulty if you aren't a handy person.

I got these shelves to house a Disney stuffed animal collection, so I was not too worried about sturdiness. Upon receiving they were solid quality, but I would not recommend putting anything heavy on them. They were fairly easy to install...getting the right pattern I wanted was the hardest part. One complain is that on three of the shelves the nail holes fell at the same height, but my husband hung the very smallest one and come to find out the nail hole was different by 3/4 of an inch. Very annoying once you have laid out an exact pattern and then the very last one comes out not even. They look great on the wall, but again only use for smaller non-heavy items. Make sure to measure all of the them!

If anyone buy this item be ready for some work, because the screws that came with this that did not fit , I had to go in my tool box and find screws that would. So once that was done it does look very nice.

I got these shelves to hang above my desk and house some of the cool things that had begun to clutter around my monitor and desk. I didn't have any trouble with the screws as some other reviewers seem to have nor have I had any problems with weight (and I put up some heavier stuff without the shelves being on a stud). The size of each shelf is great and you can get some interesting patterns. I would recommend them.

This was one of the biggest mistakes I've made concerning the installation of my plasma tv on the wall. I only intended to use two of the three shelves and then I only had a DVD player and a HD satellite receiver. The shelves were more than adaquate to hold what I wanted to put on them, but the channel in the back was useless for my two items. I used a HDMI cable for one component and a composite video (5 wires) for the DVD player. The power cords for each wouldn't fit into the channel and the pin wasn't able to be placed at the top.

I wasted the money I spent on it and finally just screwed two of the shelf supports that came with it to studs in the wall and purchased wiremold surface mounted plastic raceways to cover the wires. I'm happy with my solution and it looks Good. If the channer were large enough then this system would be good.

The channel is only big enough for a power cord and speaker wires and nothing else.

A BIG Disappointment. Of course once you get it mounted, you can't return it because it's used so you're stuck. Good Luck

This Shelf system was very poorly designed and not very robust. The shelves are held up using only a friction method. The entire assemby is free to rotate and never stays straight since nothing locks it in. Two brackets are provided but the bottom bracket does not support ANY weight which makes it useless. The system "Design" is just not robust enough even though the materials are.

I had to add several features to make the system more robust and ensure that it is stable on the wall. Also, the channel is not even large enough to fit enough cables for a Cable receiver and DVD player. It's just not worth the money even though its cheaper.

The shelf looks nice, and I've not really had the problems described in some of the other reviews regarding the narrow cable channel. I used HDMI cables and it looks nice. The real problem with this shelf system is that the swivel feature is more of a design flaw than a positive attribute. The whole shelf hangs from the top bracket supported by a pin, so it can turn very easily, with just a touch. If you have kids or it's in a high traffic area I wouldn't really recommend it, because the corners of the shelf will constantly be banging against your wall. I would up eliminating the swivel feature by putting a few screws through the bar to provide resistance against the mount. Also, and this was really a problem of all the shelf systems, I wish the shelves themselves were a little bigger. Your components can crowd the shelf a little bit.

Looks great. Not so easy to install. But it really doesn't hide all of the wires if you have so many like I do. We have 3 components and it is alot of wires to fit through the tube and you still see the plugs into the wall.

This wasn't too tough to assemble. It arrived with some damage to the cardboard, but the excellent packaging keep the wood intact. I would recommend a helper during assembly. Expecially during the first few steps.

Once assembled, it looks like something you would pay 2x for. The adjustable shelves allow you to customize for your library and the bottom closed area allows you to store other items that you don't want to display or don't conform to the shelf settings.

This piece is fantastic. You will love this cabinet. I see a lot of complaints about assembly, but we assembled it just fine without problems. It does take time, so set aside some time to put it together. 3-4 hours max. Don't take shortcuts, take your time. You should appreciate that. It's not a crappy piece like from IKEA or Ashley. Once put together it will be a very good piece in your home. The quality of the wood is nice! The finish is perfect. It's not low density fiberwood like IKEA or Ashley, its a thick fiberwood with a wood finish. Trust me, you will like this.

This this works fine for me for storing some shoes. The metal frame seems kind of cheap, but it is enough to do the job. The canvas felt sturdy and tough. It is does not fold up or collapse easy/quickly so I wouldn't recommend it for this purpose.

I bought this product from a company called Spin Keeper. I was really excited about moving my collection off of a bookshelf and into a nice, compact cabinet, safe from collecting dust from behind wooden doors.

Assembly was mostly easy, but very time consuming. For me, it took over nine hours working by myself. I ran into several hurdles. First of all, whoever counted parts for my cabinet was drunk. There are two magnets that each have two screws holding them to the cabinet and four smaller screws to hold a metal plate to each door, but I only had three screws for the magnets and five small screws for the plates. Luckily, I had a similar screw lying around that I could use.

The instructions state that there are 40 nails, but the illustration in the instructions clearly show 48 nails being used, so if you follow the diagram exactly, you will come up short. The drunk gave me 43 nails, so I was able to slightly improvise.

At one point, the instructions tell you to use the SF612BL screws, but there are no such screws in the parts manifest. This is a minor complaint, since the screws you are actually supposed to use (SP816BL in the manifest) are bundled with the plates they screw down in a plastic bag.

The nut that is supposed to hold the lock in place can easily slip into a crooked position and become hard to tighten. In fact, it's easier to put it on crooked than it is to put it on straight. I tried to tighten the nut with my wrench, but it just turned the lock with it, sanding the hole down larger than it's supposed to be.

The most frustrating part of the construction for me was one of the shelves, which would drop all of my DVDs and tip over whenever I put enough on top of it. I had to wedge pieces of cardboard into the interlocking sections for the shelf to stay level.

After assembling the unit, I took a moment to admire the finished product. Despite being made out of mostly composite wood and a few plastic pieces, it is quite an attractive looking cabinet. But my problems were far from over.

The worst thing about this unit, the deal-breaker, is that there is clearly not enough depth to completely fill it with DVDs of variable width. See the photos I uploaded illustrating this point.

If all you have are standard-sized plastic DVD clamshells, then you should have no problems. If you're like me, like most people, your collection will have various kinds of DVD cases. Let's do some math. From the rear of the cabinet to the door, it measures almost 11¼". A standard clamshell DVD case measures just over 5¼" in width. Side by side, there is still about three quarters of an inch of space between. My box sets of Buffy The Vampire Slayer measure 5 5/8". The widest box sets in my collection (James Bond movie set and Band of Brothers) measure 5 7/8". Any combination of these slightly wider sets will either cause you to press your hand against the door for it to shut against the magnet or prevent the doors from closing entirely. You could organize your collection in an odd order that prevents the wider sets from facing each other from the door shelves, but that's a game of Tetris no one wants to play.

This would be a beautiful storage cabinet if all you wanted to store was DVDs, CDs, blu-rays, VHS tapes or games for Wii, Xbox 360 or PS3, all in standard-sized cases, but one size most definitely does not fit all. If only it had one extra inch of depth.

I ordered this on May 24 and received it on May 29 talk about fast service! I was pleased to find that all the parts were shipped too WOW, what a novelty. I'd seen other reviews on another site and was concerned that it was difficult to assemble. It took us about 7 hours, but part of that time was drying time to fix a mistake we made. My husband didn't trust the quality of the wood glue provided, he said it looked like Elmers, so he used his personal choice instead.

When assembling the cabinet, pay VERY CLOSE attention to the illustrations the raw sides and finished sides are not well illustrated and we ended up putting the right side on the left and visa-versa. This mistake gave us raw edges where finished edges should have been oops! Since we used wood glue in the wood dowels, as per instructed, we messed up some parts of the wood and had to repair them. No problem it's fine now.

The bottom supports (parts M) are indented, but the instruction shows them as being even with the front and back edges of the bottom (part B). If you match the placement of the angle brackets with the holes provided, you'll get them in the right place. When you put the sides in place, the supports will align with the wood dowel holes just fine.

The one fault I found was that the wood colors aren't consistent. I realize it's hard to stain the MDF the same color as the oak laminant on the doors and top, but I don't care for the redish oak color of the MDF on the rest of the cabinet. It would also be nice if there were locks on the cabinet doors instead of just the top storage area.

Just received this and put it together that same day. It took about 6 hours to put together, but I took lots of breaks. This is a very heavy unit and it was a lot taller than I thought it would be, it is over 3 feet tall. It has loads of storage and seems to be very useful. Not too sure I like the top load though, because I was planning on putting a lamp on top and now I can't because it opens from the top, but I guess that means less clutter also. I think this is a really nice piece and others are really interested in getting this same piece for their houses. Not enough glue was included in this set and I used the wrong glue for the wrong pieces, but it wasn't a problem. I recommend getting some extra crazy glue to finish up this piece.

This works great for storing all of my movies, cds and video games. The quality is pretty good for assemble it yourself furniture. It did take a while to assemble though I assembled it in about 2 and a half hours but it turned out well. I looked at furniture stores local to me and didn't see anything at all like this I do like it overall.

This is a HEAVY item reflecting the quality materials. It makes me slightly nervous to put all this weight on rails but it all hangs together well. So far. Pretty simple to assemble and very solid. I love the look of "floating drawers" in my walk-in. I purchased in store at a retail chain and was told they'd be discontinuing this year because they're so pricey. You could buy a larger four drawer chest for the price of two of these but these worked best in my space and I have no complaints.
