Not the easiest to assemble, but the finished product works for me. The openings are 12"x12" I purchased 4 fabric storage cubes, so now I have some additional storage as well as a nice looking book shelf.

I consider myself proficient at building home furnishings like this but this one was not one I will rember fondly!!

The whole thing wobbles which means assigning the top and bottom pieces onto the 9 screws is complete trial and error.

What looked like a 60 minute job took around 3 hrs.

Plus the trim from one piece of the top trim had come off during shipping it was held together to the main peice by 4 thin nails.

Overall the experience was poor (2 stars) but the finished piece (even with out the trim due to a luckluster attempt at glueing it back on ) does look nice enough.(1 additional star).

With plenty of other and less espensive 9 cube book cases around I would be hard pushed to fully recommend this.

This is the worst design and engineering I have ever seen. The pieces look good and sturdy by themselves but when you try to put them together everything goes to the dogs. All of the pieces are held together by nothing but 27 locking bolts and connecters or cams. Most of the connecters won't lock into place properly but the worst part is that the bolts are only screwed 5/16" deep into cheap plastic inserts in the panels. This provides NO structural strength at all. The slightest movement and the bolts rip out of the threads. Adding some wood dowels would probably solve the problem. I've put together countless pieces of office furniture in the past and I've never seen anything this poorly made. All of this being said, customer service at RTA Products is very good. If you have missing or broken pieces they're very quick to send out replacements under warranty.

The desk is sturdy, and was relatively straightforward to put together. It took me a little over an hour to assemble, which isn't bad considering how many pieces there were, but it would have gone more quickly if the instructions had been clearer in places. The various shelves and storage spaces are exactly what I was looking for, and I'm very happy with what I got for the price. However, I wouldn't pay what they're asking on other sites.

The materials are, bluntly, cheap crap. I had to practically break several of the cams to keep them from immediately loosening, and every one of them had bits of metal flaking off. Incidentally, you'll also want to use your own screwdriver--the one provided isn't long enough to get much torque. The actual boards seem strong enough to do the job, but the 'chocolate' laminate was physically lifting away around some of the screw holes, so I expect it to start peeling sooner or later. The solution for supporting the middle shelf on the right side of the unit was also disappointing: an extra cam screw shoved into a hole in the metal bar.

All that said, the desk actually is sturdy now that it's in one piece, and I expect to get a lot of good use out of it. If you're looking for something cheap with a lot of interesting storage space, and are willing to sacrifice on quality, this is what you're looking for.

Missing screws, the screw clasps didn't work and the entire thing was loose. It's basically unusable. I lost my money from the entire purchase. I'm now buying another computer desk, but in this case I'm focusing on something metal or aluminum and hoping for the best.

A loud thud on the front porch followed by a quick ring of the doorbell could only mean the UPS man has left us another treasure. It was just like dragging dead body in the house. This was a good sign. Being heavy meant I was halfway to discovering my our garment rack was indeed heavy duty... and not even out of the box yet. One of the triplets whipped out his razor knife and had that box open it 30 seconds flat. Seizing the opportunity as another life lesson to the boys, first order of business was to toss away the assembly instructions. 1.because "we're men, and nobody tells us how stuff goes together." And b. even though there were no written words on the instruction, I suspect the drawings were done in Chinese anyway. `Sides, me and the boys slapped that sucker together in 19 minutes flat. I stood back to admire our work and thought "This is one quality unit". The duty part of the heavy-duty was next proven as the boys immediately employed the rolling shelf as an indoor trolley car. They run that thing all through the house, taking turns pushing. The hanging bar made for a prefect passenger handhold as the boys stepped on an off in the dining room. They loaded the shelves with books, pillows and the cat. Nearly knocked over Mom during a kitchen stop where they hung as many pots and pans on the hooks they could get a hold of.

Five stars all the way, baby!! This thing is the best Amazon deal ever. Incredibly, I find it selling for more than twice what I paid. My second one is on the way. I can't wait for the next thud.

This thing is bigger than I thought. It is also VERY heavy duty for the price. I still have no idea how these guys can sell this item so cheaply and then on top of that to ship it for only 8 bucks. I will admit it: I was terrified. My sister had a very nice (but also very expensive) closet of shelves, racks and cabinets installed earlier this year and I was worried that my closet would never be as nice as hers.

I bought this garment rack based on the reviews and I was so happy with it that I wanted to write a review myself.

I bought a cheaper garment rack at Bed Bath and Beyond a few weeks ago. It was a piece of junk. Several of the pieces didn't line up correctly during the assembly and as soon as I hung one coat on it, it started leaning. I was so annoyed that I wrote a scathing review of it on the BBB site. I didn't want anyone else to fall for it like I did. I searched on several sites for a better quality garment rack and somehow found this one on Amazon. It was twice the price but it looked like exactly what I needed and all of the reviews were positive.

As soon as it got delivered today I set out to assemble it and get rid of the BBB rack. Can I tell you how refreshing it is to assemble a solid piece of furniture and have everything line up and click into place like its supposed to? I had no issues with the assembly and the final product is solid, stable and perfect for the space I needed it. It is a tall piece, but I have 12-ft. ceilings in my loft so that was not an issue for me.

I wish every thing I've ever had to assemble at home went as smoothly as this piece. Don't waste time with cheaper priced garment racks. Just order this one from the start and save yourself lots of frustration.

These look very nice and hold their rated load (mine are in the wood studs not just anchors). Do recommend purchasing better screws as the provided ones are a bit on the cheap side. Atlantic 1002 Canrack

I rec'd the can rack today and was immediately turned off by the flimsy structure. Placing several cans on it makes the center bow down and it does NOT hold as many cans as it claims (maybe if they were all very small cans) but certainly not your standard 15 oz veggie cans. While it's nice to have some organization to my pantry, I just don't think it's worth the money spent next time I'll spend a few more bucks for the chrome rack that is available.

I finished a new pantry several months ago and I'm now ordering some different kinds of organizers. This one is just bad. I'm one of those people that doesn't need to read directions and can put anything together. Not this. The problem was that it didn't have instructions. I had to go to the website to see a picture of it to help. I did get it together. I then installed it and was I not happy. The cans just don't sit nice and neat. It leans in the center. Find something else.

This rack is junk. Poorly made, flimsy, arrived bent, and there's not enough space for more than two tiers of cans. Most of my cans are Goya beans and they are too big for three tiers. I can't believe I spent 21.79 with shipping on this. Shipped quickly, but that's not much consolation.

Needed some additional storage space but didn't want to drill extra holes...this product slips right over the existing shelf and gives us a place to store our cloth napkins, dishtowels and wash clothes. The only thing I don't like is that the shelf we had to slip these onto is our drinking glass shelf. So the glasses sometimes sit on the arm of the basket. But that is not the fault of the basket--it's just how our shelves stack up! Love it anyway!!!

Absolutely Love it!!

Assembly was easy (it took my non-handy-man husband and I roughly an hour and a half). Also, the pictures and measurements are accurate. With the leaf up it adds almost a foot of room, enough to tuck in tall bar stools. We decided not to put the shelves up under the left side underneath the drawer, and our 22" recycle can fits with no problem! The quality is very obvious. After looking for 6+ months we are thrilled we decided to go with the Home Styles island and that we purchased it through amazon. It was more expensive on target, wal mart, home depot, and lowe's.

Love this!!! It's solid wood..no particle board here. Lots of storage for my china and silver. The side shelves are perfect for storing my espresso capsules/syrups. I also store some serving items as well. Perfect as a buffet and breakfast bar for 2. Husband put it together in about 2 hours. It's amazing and totally worth the price. Cheaper than other "outlet" stores.

I ordered this piece and it came fairly quick and was easy to assemble, I myself did not put it together but my husband did and it was not a problem at all. We love this piece in our kitchen, it is the perfect size, it is a little darker in person but is still fine. It looks like we spent 2 times more on it then we paid. My only complaint is the top stratches very easily. Any little thing can leave marks. But all in all a great buy!

As others have stated before, this product arrives in three heavy boxes (approximately 75 lbs. each). It is very well protected by packaging. All of the parts were labeled, and the instructions for assembly were very good. It took my husband and myself 2.5 hours to assemble.

It is a beautiful, high quality, piece of furniture. The top is suitable for table use, but the wood must be protected if you intend to use it for additional kitchen counter space. Eventually, we intend to replace the top with a granite-type counter top.

All in all, we love the island and would highly recommend it to anyone.

We ordered this stand for our new 55" LED TV. The black stand goes perfectly with the black TV and helps it "disappear" while watching the big screen in the dark. It is a little wide for a 55" but looks good centered on the stand. (Found that most stands big enough for a 55" TV are designed for 50" to 60+" TVs!) The box it comes in is very long and very heavy. My husband and I (mostly my husband) managed to get it slid down the stairs to our media area. The assembly was not hard at all...it took maybe an hour. The instructions are minimal...only line drawings, no narrative, but it is a very straight forward procedure. I did it myself (a 57 year old woman) except for needing the one end of the bracket held while attaching the other end to the boards and needed help with inserting the glass shelves. Those you need to "jimmy" a bit to get in. The product is very sturdy, very attractive and very functional. It is just perfect for our TV area and we love it!

Stalwart 75-5186 Bench Top Parts Rack, 15 Piece

I actually purchased three of these kits and they arrived today. All three of mine came with instructions (so might be an addition since the last reviewer) and took probably 2-3 minutes each to put together.

While the dimensions given for each of the trays might hold true for the top of each bin, I measured the dimensions at the bottom and they are in fact, 5.5 inch in length x 3 inch in width x 2.75 inch in height (though there is 5 inches between the tray levels). While only slightly smaller than the stated top of bin dimensions, keep it in mind if you have items which are size specific.

I will agree that the system is a tad 'wobbly', but it's really not too big of an issue. Worse case, I can always drill holes through the legs and attach them to my tabletop or even put some non-stick pads at the bottom of the legs and that should solve the problem.

One question that I had was whether the bins could hold weight, so I loaded them down with some lead weights (well, ammunition rounds) at the front of the bin. The first thing I tried was to take an empty tray system and put 57.1 oz (3.6 lbs) on the top/center bin for 20 minutes and neither did it tip over nor did the bin fail (which I sort of wondered might happen since the bins are only held onto the trap with a pretty thin lip of hard plastic). I then loaded up all the top bins with a total weight of 187.9 oz (or 11.75 lbs) and it not only didn't tip over (the legs are longer than the end of the tray, so physically it's impossible on a level surface...but figured I would check since the previous reviewer thought it might), it seems to still be holding strong after another 30 minutes (50 minutes total for the weight test). The feet are splaying apart a bit, so maybe if I loaded down the rest of the trays with that much weight, the problem would be exacerbated...but I really wouldn't see myself (nor any other user) using this item to store 30+ lbs of stuff in these trays.

Now for the negatives:

1) The plastic plugs that they use on the legs are incredibly loose. Of the 12 plugs on my three sets, one was totally missing and 9 of the others are loose enough to pull out by hand. I will be using glue to fix them in place, but since they are really just cosmetic, it's not that big of a deal.

2) Also, on one of my kits I was missing what they call the, "upright support" which helps keep the center of the tray straight and give it some backbone. This kit was the same one which was also missing one of the leg plugs and appeared to have been a returned item also.

3) If you need to move this tray system, you MUST move it from the legs. If you try and pick it up by the trays, the legs will fall off (not too big a deal, but wanted to mention it).

4) There isn't much room to place a label on each bin. They have a slot to insert a label on each bin (.5 inch by 2.5 inch for the readable area), but I had sort of hoped I could put a label sticker on the front to denote what each bin held.

My overall impressions are pretty positive though. The price is really cheap for what we get IMO. I do wish instead of purchasing these I had purchased some with larger bins, but I can't fault this item for that. The trays are pretty easy to take off and put on and from my semi-scientific studies they obviously can carry quite a bit of weight.

I wanted something to store electronic components and don't really favor the tiny drawers of most parts storage units (I think I'm not very nimble-fingered). I liked that this one is not only bins, but will sit on the worktable top.

It arrived unassembled and without any instructions for putting it together. Even still, it's simple and only took about twenty minutes to get it done.

I have been using it for a couple of weeks now and do find that the bins are more convenient than the tiny drawers. I usually take a bin off the rack and set it down next to my work. Once I'm done it/they go back in place fairly easily.

The only complaint so far is that it's feet are a bit wobbly; they tend to splay and twist with the least amount of sideways pressure. Of course, electronics components are not heavy and so this isn't a big problem for me. If you want something to hold anything even the slightest bit heavier, however, you might find it annoying and it might actually end up tipping over.

WayFair (thru Amazon) had the best price; they even beat Sears' special "Labor Day" sale.

All in all, if I could spare the space, I would probably get the same Trademark Tools system, but in the wall-mounted unit: more bins and likely much sturdier.

Poor design with absolutely no quality control. Usually products arrive with damage due to shipping abuse. Seldom the problem with UPS. No, the problem in this case was because one of the parts was partially melted! I'd return it if it were not for the fact that I got quite a bit of satisfaction by throwing this in the garbage.

These shelves are study, stable when put together, and easy to assemble. I bought two and loaded them with heavy books. They are holding up extremely well.

Putting them together was quite easy. I do recommend using a better tool than the hex key shipped with the shelves, though, but that will do the job eventually. I used a screwdriver shaped wratchet that holds, among other things, hex shaped bits.

All pieces including shelves, uprights, and cross pieces came wrapped in plastic. As a result the finished product looked quite nice.

I intend to buy at least another shelf, as I seem to acumulate books rather quickly. For the price, you can't beat these. They are carefully made and carefully shipped.

Nice, lightweight, easy to assemble. Just bolt the crossbars to the ends, snap in the shelves, and put on the feet. Shelves hold books up to 11 1/2" tall, not adjustable. They seem to be holding my heavy art books well. Much better than equivalent-size cheap particleboard stuff you can get at office supply stores.

My only problem was one of the crossbars on one of them; it was not threaded at the factory, so the bolt would not screw in. I bought an appropriate sheet-metal screw at a hardware store and finished putting it together. Otherwise, fit and finish was very good.

You'll get a box containing the left and right sides, a smaller box, and a bag containing 18 bolts (no extras), 4 plastic feet, and an allen wrench. The smaller box contains the shelves and crossbars. Upon opening it, I initially found only 5 crossbars; take out all the shelves and separate them to find the remaining crossbars in between. I initially thought they didn't pack all the crossbars and was ready to send it back, then took one more look.

I don't know if Amazon kept their stock at 3 separate locations, but I received 3 separate shipments: 2 in huge boxes with lots of packing, and one posted using the shelving's own box. All 3 arrived on the same day.

I was very excited to find this item. After moving to a new place, needed a spot for cook books. Searches in stores resulted in flimsy, very expensive, cheap looking bookcases. This book rack is the exact opposite. It was very fairly priced, arrived quickly, and is both very sturdy and lightweight to move for cleaning. It took 10 minutes to put together, and it came with the exact number of parts needed. No extras to wonder if I'd missed something, and no parts missing. Best of all, it is so sturdy. I've got hardcover cookbooks piled on the lower and middle shelves, and there is no bend or dip in the shelves! That third shelf turned out to be so awesome for utensil holders! In an old apartment with serious counter space shortage, this has been one of the best purchases ever.

The box looked like it was dropped from about 10,000 feet directly onto my front porch. Ripped and mangled and was taped back together with about a roll and a half of packing tape. Probably was a return that someone else didn't want. No instructions at all, but all of the parts were there. I put it together hating it the entire time. As I was assembling it, I started to like it. Even with no instructions, it took me 15 minutes to assemble. After assembly, it looked pretty good. It seemed sturdy and kind of modern looking. I wish I would have ordered the 4 tier (because it is cheaper and also another shelf taller (explain that !!!!)), I am happy with this one and I really can't complain. (any more, that is......)

This little bookshelf serves its purpose well. It easily holds my four dozen blu-ray movies, video games, and my collection of game guides. Building it only took ten minutes. Everything fit together well. No pieces were missing.

Do take care not to over-tighten any screws, though!! The quality of the metal is not very good. I expected this considering the one I bought was 40 dollars. Having said that, this thing is perfect considering the price. I just hope it lasts a good long time; like ten years.

My daughter was helping me put spices on it. She sneezed, and in so doing, jerked her hand a little and one side ripped away from the wall! We had to search around for a screw that would fit the already in place anchor. Good thing my husband has a lot of leftover odds and ends. As far as holding spices, the depth of the rack is good for larger items vanilla extract, larger spices, canisters of pepper... I just wouldn't put all new ones on at the same time!

I bought this to store spices on the inside door of a kitchen cabinet. It was easy to install (because my cabinet doors are so thin, we came up with a plan to get them on using a washer and a screw...long story but it worked).

Purchased a set of shelves of this brand from Home Depot to install in our office closet, it already had one that came installed by the builder, and was quite easy to install, though it is a tad easier with two people for parts of it. Our house came with these shelves installed throughout and they have held up well, especially the master bedroom closet and pantry which both hold some significant weight.

These shelves are awful.

I purchased them from that horrible Chinese supply store known as Wal-Mart and didn't expect much, but I did figure "It's a shelf, how hard could it be?" Apparently, I was too optimistic.

The shelves come with nails, not screws, even though they come with drywall anchors. Nails for drywall anchors? Really? Nails to hold up shelves? What genius thought of that!?

The enclosed nails are are too small for the holes in the shelve arms. The nail goes right through the hole and doesn't hold anything! What's the point? Who designed this? A farsighted dyslexic!?

The plastic anchors stick out far beyond the nail, requiring you to hit the plastic (or create a chisel type device).

I have installed many, many shelves without incident. These shelves look like they were installed by a 5-year-old. Great job Closetmaid! Keep up the wonderful Chinese craftmanship!
