A+ Childsupply Coat Locker - 47.5 in.

A+ Childsupply Coat Locker No.F8062I don't know why this is labeled a toy, it's actually a nice storage/cubby unit. This is a great size for storage. There are four of us in the family and we each have our own compartment plus one extra for common household storage. Each cubby has two sets of hooks and plenty of room for shoes, hats, lunch boxes, purses, etc. We put this inside a closet so we left it the way it came, but it would be easy to paint. You assemble and add the hardware so you could paint before attaching the hardware. It's really a great product if you need some extra storage or you need a place for kids to drop their things (besides the floor!) when they get home from school.

Dark Brown Shelves by Ashley Furniture

Dark Brown Shelves by Ashley FurnitureI`ll say I am very satisfied with these shelves. I was looking for a curio cabinet but could n`t find one with the dimensions and the look I wanted. Then in my search I stumbled across this shelve and it worked out great even better for me than a curio cabinet. It did have several scratches on the legs and shelves I was surprised because they were so well wrapped. I took care of them with a wood finish stain marker and they look fine. The shelves when assembled are very sturdy and look as good or better as pictured. One more thing is they were better priced on Amazon even if going directly thru Ashley Furniture.

Seville Classics Shelving System with Wheels/Ledges

Seville Classics SHE18487 18-Inch by 48-Inch by 72-Inch Shelving System with Wheels, ChromeArrived in fine shape.

I had read the reviews and am happy to say this is better than I expected.

First I would suggest reading the others reviews regarding assembly as some

of the shortcuts are very good.

Let me add that the Back Guards shown in the picture are not part of the

shelfs but are snap-ons. I mention this as it almost stopped me from

buying this unit as I need a flat shelf for some over hang issues with

tools (saws and such) that I needed to store. Also, their snap on feature

proved to be very handy as I used two on a top shelf as a bin for

smaller motorcycle parts. It appears that you could use them to divide

a shelf if you wanted, very flexible design.

Assembly was straight forward, I followed another reviewers advice and

did the bottom shelf and wheels first and this enabled me to easily "fit"

certain shelfs to larger items as I went along.

Just ordered another...

Best,

Joe

1. First order unit arrived complete great product !

2. Placed second order for same product arrived incomplete w/o wheels nor retaining ledges, part no. on the box was correct.

Called Amazon...they sent me replacement overnight !

3. replacement arrived....incomplete w/o wheels nor retaining ledges, part no. on the box was correct.

Had to repack both boxes and sent to Amazon (at their cost) but packing/handling two 75lb boxes aint't fun not to mention time wasted

dealing with reps, cost of packing supply (have to pack it waell so 75lb package will not fall apart on way back) and time related

4. Was told that Amazon will investigate and remove from sale list, which never did.

5. Ordering next one from Walmart where I can pick in the store and check befor paying....suggest you do the same

I bought three of these for a storage room and they arrived in great shape with none of the packaging problems some others have reported. Can't go wrong.

Prepac Floating Wall Double Media Storage

Prepac Black Medium Capacity Hanging Wall Media StorageIt is a pretty nice looking shelf/rack and it does fill the purpose.

There are some problems in in the details, but the price is not high end, so take it for what it is worth.

This is one of the few choices avaiable for a shelfing unit.

Pros:

1. Decent appearance

2. Solid (with glue added)

3. Easy wall mounting (screws not provided)

4. Pleanty of shelves included ( I have mine holding 3 rows of DVDs and one short shelf and still have 2 unuued shelf boards.

Cons:

1. Mine has a slight crease in the back board (not a huge problem but it is there)

2. Having the shelves bare on the bottom is just plain poor design for an item made to hang on a wall. Keeping the shelves tight to the size of the DVD/CD cases helps, or a black little paint would fix it.

3. Screw covers do not stay in place and edges are not large enough to completely cover the silver color of the screws.

4. The framing hides the fist DVD case on each shelf on the outer edge (not huge but just a poor detail design).

5. Use glue during assembly (will be much more solid in the long run)

6. Slightly overpriced for what it is, but it weighs 38 lbs to ship.

7. Would have ben nice if it was slightly taller, just a few inches short of being able to make all shelves able to hold DVDs

This is a complete kit. Everything you need will be in the carton, but there are no labels on the parts. You need to carefully identify all the pieces before you begin. The instructions could be a lot clearer, but after putting it together & taking it apart at least twice, I feel comfortable in saying that it should take less than a half hour. The finished product is beautiful and I would recommend this to anyone needing a high class wall mounted CD/DVD storage unit.

I bought 2 units one for my multimedia and one for a book shelf which are mounted on each side of my 52 inch flat panel. Sturdy and not cheap looking. Although a little expensive you get what you pay for.

It's very simple to assemble. It probably took 15 minutes on the dining room floor. A few parts were too tight, but I was able to remedy the problem with a sharp utility knife. I haven't fully loaded the shelves with DVD's and CD's, but it looks like it should function as advertised.

There isn't any "real" wood in the construction; this shelf won't be appearing on the Antiques Road Show in 100 years...

Want Prepac Floating Wall Double Media Storage Discount?

No, it's not "real wood", but I didn't expect real wood given the price. Assembly was a bit frustrating in that nothing is marked although there aren't a zillion parts, it would have been a quicker assembly had "this side front, this side back" or similar been included as I found myself unassembling and reassembling a few times. Also, the "backer" (back panels) are to be overlapped, something that's not clear on the instructions and I learned only after realizing there was no other way it would work. Excellent packaging, no chips or nicks, nothing broken (although I was missing one "confirmat screw", not a big deal (the instructions include a date code, telephone number and an email address, the latter of which I used to secure the missing screw). Screws to attach the unit to the wall are not included and the part that attaches to the wall (the unit sort of "hangs" from the "bar" you attach to the wall) does not include predrilled holes this wasn't a problem for me as I have drill and had spare wood screws on hand, but may be helpful for some to know ahead of time when deciding to whether or not to make this purchase.

The shelves use metal dowels, a bonus over the "cheapie/flimsy" plastic dowels one often sees in bookcases and such. Overall, to have DVDs, CDs, and so on all in one location and NOT strewn about the floor or tables or here and there, 5 stars unto itself. No regrets.

Bin Warehouse DFAE2MBW0431 Storage System for 12-Totes

Bin Warehouse DFAE2MBW0431 Storage System for 12-TotesHaving done my homework before purchasing I purchased just organizer itself. After taking the measurements of the bins themselves from the description of them on Amazons site the bins were purchased on sale at Target for $6ea reg. $7.50ea which is a fraction of the cost on the internet, and even more so when you add in shipping charges. The unit was a breeze to put together, if you can read! The bin size this unit requires is more than ample and securing to the wall is effortless with the included hardware and the construction is sturdy once secured to the wall. Definetly need a screw gun for this project, but other than that and a rubber mallet it is all you'll need. The instructions were dead on accurate so follow them to the tee and the parts are all numbered. Try to put it together without the step by step and you'll be sorry. Mine went together in approx. 1 hour and did the basement wonders.

Excellant product and I found it on Amazon cheaper than anywhere else.

We've been storing books and clothes and sporting equipment in large tubs in our basement, and these shelves immediately caught my eye when I saw them in a Skymall catalog. Having now installed a set and put them to use, I can offer the following comments and advice:

1. Properly assembled, they are pretty strong. The entire unit is rated to 1200 pounds, which is enough for most purposes, but you're probably not going to want to load it entirely with books or fluids, as that could bring it over the limit. We have put our heaviest bins on the bottom, and I would suggest others do the same.

2. Label well -even if you use transparent boxes, it can be hard to tell where everything is from the side. We use a Brother PT-2700 Desktop Labeling System (Silver/Black), which is great.

3. Though the shelves are designed to be used in tight spaces, you'll need a fair amount of space to assemble them. I think an unobstructed space 8' x 8' x 8' is probably a good idea, with a clear path to where the shelves will ultimately be installed.

4. Open everything, separate, and count the parts before you start. Bin Warehouse does a good job of packing the parts in a small box, nesting tubes inside other tubes, and screws inside wall-mounting flanges, etc. Until you separate it all out, you have no way of knowing whether or not they've sent everything you need.

5. The unit is intended to be bolted to a wall. If you aren't comfortable with doing this yourself, hire a handyman. I actually changed my intended installation place so that I could be working with drywall (which I can handle myself), rather than concrete blocks (beyond my experience and tools).

6. Don't dream of starting work on this without power tools. You have to sink nearly 100 screws of different types through PVC pipes. Arnold Schwarzenegger couldn't do it by hand.

7. Unfortunately, the screws included with the unit strip pretty easily. Make sure your screwdriver is well seated before starting, and don't use maximum torque.

The assembly took me about three hours, though I did some side-projects in the middle. I can imagine somebody getting it done in an hour if they have everything planned out well before starting.

Once the shelves were in place, they seem stable and our basement is easier to navigate.

I bought this in order to continue my quest to have the most organized basement. It took about 2 hours to put together make sure you have a drill gun. You can not do this by hand. Good assembly directions. This product has to be wall mounted. I mounted it to my concrete wall but putting it into studs would be fine too. I have been very happy with the outcome: strong, sturdy, and great storage. I felt it was a little pricey but it does what it says.

Catskill Kitchen Cube

Catskill Craftsmen Kitchen Cube CartThe dead space in the center of our pantry used to have stuff stacked there that would have to be moved whenever I needed something from a bottom shelf. Melannco Espresso Square Shelves, Set of 3

Melannco Espresso Square Shelves, Set of 3Alright, I should have known this by now. However, I fell prey to looking at the picture and thinking I was seeing black and clicking the "Buy now" button without paying attention to the color it listed. They're extremely dark brown, thus the "Espresso" color, so even though they look black, they're not.

Other than that, they're exactly what I expected based on the description. The largest square is 9x9, the medium is 7x7, and the small is 5x5.

So these little boxes were exactly what I wanted. They are small, but the sizes indicated are accurate. They are espresso, not black, but that's what I needed. Mine came with all the indicated hardware. Only problem was that one of them needed a little minor repair before I could use. One corner of the largest box was not held together properly. This was easy enough to fix with a little wood glue and since they are small and glued together elsewhere (I need not see any nails) they aren't going to hold much weight anyway. The other three corners were tightly fixed together (the fix on the fourth corner may not have even been completely necessary); I actually had to pry the loose corner apart and hold it in place with Q-tips to get the glue in between the sides, but it worked out fine. I attached cup hooks to the bottom of mine, and turned them into a jewelry holder.

These shelves are nice, especially for the price, but they are extremely small. I'm not sure how the photo is able to show vases and a bowl in them. The dimensions are listed on the page, so definitely measure before buying. They are nice and of average quality, but much smaller than the photo makes them appear.

Want Melannco Espresso Square Shelves, Set of 3 Discount?

I bought a set similar to these little wall boxes from target, but when I got them home and opened the boxes, they didn't match each other, the big one was wood and the small ones were particle board with wood grain stickers. I really wanted them to match since they'd be hanging side-by-side, so I looked on Amazon and sure enough they had a similar item (this one) so I bought it hoping it would match the big one from Target and sure enough they did, it is made of particle board but has a nice wood-like finish and complemented the other box I got nicely. They installed in a few minutes and really add a nice look to the room with appropriate decor. I needed to adjust the holes in the back of one of the boxes otherwise it would've hung crooked, and another needed the hole deepened, for me with a drill it was easy, but some others, might be frustrating, just an FYI. I knocked a star off for that, but otherwise a cool little item.

Edsal CR4824 72 in.H x 48 in.W x 24 in.D 5-Tier Steel Muscle Rack Shelving Unit

Edsal CR4824 72 in.H x 48 in.W x 24 in.D 5-Tier Steel Muscle Rack Shelving UnitI just purchased the Muscle Rack "2300 Series" which appears to be much the same as this model. Don't waste your time. It is humanly impossible to assemble this unit. Literally every. Single. Place. that a tab is supposed to fit into a slot, the tab is too big. You end up trying to tap it in with a hammer, and in the process end up bending the metal pieces all out of shape, making matters worse. At one point I dropped the hammer I was using for this onto one of the lower shelves I had gotten somewhat together, and it punched a hole right through the particle board, which appears to be about one grade above cardboard. Save yourself hours of aggravation by buying literally anything else, including a gun to shoot yourself in the foot with, as even that would still yield more utility and enjoyment than this shelving unit.

I bought this product from Home Depot three years ago. Within a month, the particle board shelves were sagging (with barely any weight applied!!). The only thing it holds now are cleaning supplies and extra linen.

Buy Edsal CR4824 72 in.H x 48 in.W x 24 in.D 5-Tier Steel Muscle Rack Shelving Unit Now

I actually bought this product from Lowes during their black friday sale. It cost me roughly $45 for the shelving unit. It is said to hold 800 pounds per shelf. I thought it would save me some money rather then building my own. Boy was I wrong. Within a month the shelves were sagging with maybe 30 pounds of weight on them. The shelf that had about six 1 gallon paint cans half full looked like it was going to break. I am having to replace the particle board shelves they add.

They either need better quality shelves that can hold the weight or add a center beam to keep the shelf from warping. I would stay away from this product.

I bought one of these racks and had it set up in about 15 minutes. Yes, the parts fit tight, but that better than a sloppy fit that wobbles later. The pins went in part way and I pushed them down the rest of the slot, gently with my foot. When done they look great. No tools needed, but you may want to use a rubber hammer or board to seat in the crosspieces properly.

I have 4 of these units now and plan to pickup more. I have found them quite simple to put together with nothing more than an old metal pipe wrench to bang the pieces into place (probably should have used a proper mallet!). Some of the particle board shelves were tight and I had to swap them around here and there to make them fit but nothing extreme. The only thing I can think to mention is the nice depth on these. Seems a lot of shelving units I looked at were somewhat shallow.

Stork Craft Beatrice 6 Cube Organizer/Change Table

Stork Craft Beatrice 6 Cube Organizer/Change Table, CherryThis product looks great, feels sturdy, will grow with baby to toddler & beyond as storage, but takes a couple hrs to put together. Also we noticed a strong odor at first for the black color.

There are 2 big disappointments:

1. The size of the cubbiesthey don't fit any cube fabric organizers or drawers. The cubbies go deep & tall but need narrow basketsthink rectangles & not squares. I'm sure we'll find something to fit it eventually.

2. The puny changing pad makes you want to buy a contoured pad that won't end up fitting the top, so don't waste your money. I guess one could just not install the top pieces, but that's what adds the flair. (The pad size from assembly manual states it is 78 cm x 38 cm x 2.5 cm.)

We also purchased the Beatrice 4-drawer dresser to match but haven't put it together yet. Lesson learned: Pay attention to measurements!

Cubes are not standard size and therefore we cannot find any fabric bins to fit! Terribly designed product, very disappointed.

Buy Stork Craft Beatrice 6 Cube Organizer/Change Table Now

I love the look and quality of this piece of furniture, but I wanted a contoured changing pad on it instead of just the basic flat one that comes with the piece. Unfortunately, the space for the changing pad is not wide enough for a standard size. It is only about 15 inches wide, and the standard size is 16. We chose a temporary fix to the problem by removing the back panel of the top of the changing table. With the pad secured on 3 sides, fastened to the table by the straps, and pushed up against a wall, I'm confident about the safety, but it was disappointing to realize it wasn't going to work as easily as I'd thought. I wish Storkcraft has made the piece just one inch wider!

It was easy to put together, came quickly, and was in great shape upon delivery.

Read Best Reviews of Stork Craft Beatrice 6 Cube Organizer/Change Table Here

I like this table because later it can become a bookshelf or other storage piece that's easily accessible by a toddler. As some reviews state, it does not accommodate those bins you can slide in, but it can fit other plastic storage pieces. If the cubbies were bigger, it wouldn't still be a regular-sized changing table and wouldn't fit standard-sized changing pads, etc. I like the storage cubbies and the style of this piece. Feels like good quality too unlike some modular furniture pieces which feel cheap. Worth the price in my opinion.

Want Stork Craft Beatrice 6 Cube Organizer/Change Table Discount?

Beautiful & functional. Arrived in perfect condition and did not take too long to assemble (under 2 hours). Extremely sturdythis is a solid heavy piece. Disappointed the changing pad does not include a cover or straps, so you may wish to purchase that set separately. It does seem priced a bit high for what it is, but since it meets my needs exactly I'm not complaining. I use this in my newborn portrait studio and have received many compliments. You can see how much the cubes store in the top right image here:

Welland 24 Inch x 8 Inch x 1.25 Inch Oliver Wall Shelf Display Floating Shelves Black

Welland 24 Inch x 8 Inch x 1.25 Inch Oliver Wall Shelf Display Floating Shelves BlackNice shelf with hidden mounting bracket. It has a nice glossy spray-paint finish. It's easy to mount and seems sturdy enough to hold my action figures. The reason I gave it only 4 stars is because one of the shelves (I bought 2 of these) that I ordered came with a very small paint chip on the edge. I just used a black pentel pen to mask the defect. Overall a great product.

Suncast Ceiling Storage

Suncast Ceiling StorageI have to say that I was procrastinating on installing these in my garage because I figured it would be difficult to install. I couldn't have been more wrong. I really like how the poles that extend from the ceiling give a little and slip through a collar instead of being hard welded to the bracket. I also like how the only rule is that you need to space the brackets that are on the same stud the distance of the support bar. I picked a know location of a stud and placed my first bracket. Since my studs are 16" apart, I measured over 32" and affixed my bracket to the stud. Then I attached the support bars to each bracket to measure where I needed to attach my last 2 brackets. Super easy.

These look great, are sturdy and offer a lot of options for storage. I place them over where my cars are parked!

ORE International R597-3 3-Tier Metal Book Rack

ORE International R597-3 3-Tier Metal Book RackThese shelves are study, stable when put together, and easy to assemble. I bought two and loaded them with heavy books. They are holding up extremely well.

Putting them together was quite easy. I do recommend using a better tool than the hex key shipped with the shelves, though, but that will do the job eventually. I used a screwdriver shaped wratchet that holds, among other things, hex shaped bits.

All pieces including shelves, uprights, and cross pieces came wrapped in plastic. As a result the finished product looked quite nice.

I intend to buy at least another shelf, as I seem to acumulate books rather quickly. For the price, you can't beat these. They are carefully made and carefully shipped.

Nice, lightweight, easy to assemble. Just bolt the crossbars to the ends, snap in the shelves, and put on the feet. Shelves hold books up to 11 1/2" tall, not adjustable. They seem to be holding my heavy art books well. Much better than equivalent-size cheap particleboard stuff you can get at office supply stores.

My only problem was one of the crossbars on one of them; it was not threaded at the factory, so the bolt would not screw in. I bought an appropriate sheet-metal screw at a hardware store and finished putting it together. Otherwise, fit and finish was very good.

You'll get a box containing the left and right sides, a smaller box, and a bag containing 18 bolts (no extras), 4 plastic feet, and an allen wrench. The smaller box contains the shelves and crossbars. Upon opening it, I initially found only 5 crossbars; take out all the shelves and separate them to find the remaining crossbars in between. I initially thought they didn't pack all the crossbars and was ready to send it back, then took one more look.

I don't know if Amazon kept their stock at 3 separate locations, but I received 3 separate shipments: 2 in huge boxes with lots of packing, and one posted using the shelving's own box. All 3 arrived on the same day.

I was very excited to find this item. After moving to a new place, needed a spot for cook books. Searches in stores resulted in flimsy, very expensive, cheap looking bookcases. This book rack is the exact opposite. It was very fairly priced, arrived quickly, and is both very sturdy and lightweight to move for cleaning. It took 10 minutes to put together, and it came with the exact number of parts needed. No extras to wonder if I'd missed something, and no parts missing. Best of all, it is so sturdy. I've got hardcover cookbooks piled on the lower and middle shelves, and there is no bend or dip in the shelves! That third shelf turned out to be so awesome for utensil holders! In an old apartment with serious counter space shortage, this has been one of the best purchases ever.

The box looked like it was dropped from about 10,000 feet directly onto my front porch. Ripped and mangled and was taped back together with about a roll and a half of packing tape. Probably was a return that someone else didn't want. No instructions at all, but all of the parts were there. I put it together hating it the entire time. As I was assembling it, I started to like it. Even with no instructions, it took me 15 minutes to assemble. After assembly, it looked pretty good. It seemed sturdy and kind of modern looking. I wish I would have ordered the 4 tier (because it is cheaper and also another shelf taller (explain that !!!!)), I am happy with this one and I really can't complain. (any more, that is......)

Want ORE International R597-3 3-Tier Metal Book Rack Discount?

This little bookshelf serves its purpose well. It easily holds my four dozen blu-ray movies, video games, and my collection of game guides. Building it only took ten minutes. Everything fit together well. No pieces were missing.

Do take care not to over-tighten any screws, though!! The quality of the metal is not very good. I expected this considering the one I bought was 40 dollars. Having said that, this thing is perfect considering the price. I just hope it lasts a good long time; like ten years.

Seville Classics 17.5 by 7.5 by 18.5-Inch Shelf Organizer

Seville Classics 17-1/2-Inch by 7-1/2-Inch by 18-1/2-Inch Cabinet Organizer, ChromeI bought these after using similar ones in a medical facility. The shelf consists of four upright poles with two pieces each that connect by a third short section of pipe. The shelves are held in place by two part plastic sleeves which are slightly cone-shaped and snap together easily in the grooves placed about 1 inch apart on the poles. The shelves have slightly cone-shaped tubing pieces at the corners which slide down over the plastic sleeves and fit firmly against the poles. These only fit together one way so some attention must be paid to orientation. The plastic sleeve pieces are clearly marked as to orientation, and are identical halves, so you cannot mismatch them (without effort, that is).

The only tools I needed were a rubber mallet and some scrap wood (to protect my floor when pounding with the mallet). The pole sections have to be pounded firmly together, and the shelves have to be pounded into place with the mallet. Because of the shape of the plastic sleeves and the shelf corner tubing, (narrower at the top, wider at the bottom) downward pressure on the shelf actually makes it grip the pole more tightly, which is the secret of the strength of these kind of shelves. It is quite ingenius, actually. One of those simple, elegant design ideas that usually go unnoticed. If someone has trouble with the shelves not locking together fimrly, it is probably because they have not pounded the parts together properly, which is quite clearly explained in the instructions.

I took one star off because Target had so much trouble getting these to me. The first set was either never sent or "got lost." After Amazon intervened on my behalf, Target sent the second set to my post office box! (Needless to say, it didn't fit.) Neither package had good tracking data, or an email from Target that it had been sent. Now it may be that I just hit Target on a bad day, but for a first experience with their distance ordering, I am definitely soured on them for taking over a month to get the order right (well, almost right). I will definitely buy more of these shelves, but direct from the manufacturer.

These are excellent shelves, very simple, attractive, and strong. The manufacturer, Seville Classics, also has extra parts and other designs one can buy. I heartily recommend the shelves, but caution is advised when dealing with Target.

UPDATE FEBRUARY 2010:

Amazon now sells these directly with better shipping options than Target. Go for the Amazon buy, definitely. I now have 7 of these and love them. I am getting ready to get a bunch for my "day job" facility.

UPDATE August 2011: Overpriced now. You can get a 48" with 6 shelves with wheels and back stops for $99 at Costco. Lowes Hardware also carries them for less (without back stops and I think the extra shelf or two are sold separately). If you want this smaller version you can get them at Lowes Hardware cheaper. I am still an avid fan of these style shelves. I noticed last week my contractor neighbor has 6 of them in his basement and garage. We both have the 48" version though this is the smaller 36" version.

This is the fourth size of these shelves I've gotten. One larger and two smaller let's call this one 'large'. The X-large one was my first. It is one 6-shelf unit or two 3-shelf units. I use it as two units. It is loaded with heavy power tools, loaded tool boxes, etc and handles it with no problem. The medium sized ones are packed with garden supplies, gallons of paint, etc. The small one is loaded with gallons of bleach and detergents and softener bottles. This large size I use for boxes of house supplies some heavy some lite. The product is as described and looks exactly like the picture.

QUALITY = Zero defects with the legs, shelves, plastic height adjusters, wheel assemblies, welding and chrome plating. The design is simple and effective the weight of the shelves and items of the shelves hold everything in place no screws.

ASSEMBLY = The instructions are poor but once you figure it out it is quick and easy and simply repetitive to put together. I've assembled all of mine by myself. The first x-large one I got took me an hour, now it takes me 10 minutes to put them together or tear them apart to change the shelf heights. No special tools required all of mine came with a little wrench to tighten the wheel bolts. A rubber mallet proved handy to tighten the shelves down on the plastic adjusters (and to knock them loose to change the height as desired) but a shoe works as well. One corner of a shelf kept popping up and causing the plastic adjuster to pop off until I figured out I needed to get it on a level floor, square up the legs by twisting the whole unit a little, and whacked it with the mallet to wedge it down on the plastic adjuster. Caution: Don't step on any of the plastic height adjusters as you assemble it cause there are no extras!

DURABILITY = I can't imagine what I could put on it that would be heavy enough to break it. Compared to the laundry shelf/hanger unit I bought from a competitor these shelves are commercial strength. The laundry shelf wiggles and wobbles every time I touch it but these shelves are sturdy. Heavier than I expected too.

(2011 Update: I finally broke one wire on a bottom shelf by 'throwing' a 24 case of soda pop on it. I still love these shelves and bought another large one for the storage unit in my rental condo doubled the storage 'capacity' of the storage unit for my tenants.)

USABILITY = Great. I definitely prefer the models with wheels for ease in rearranging my basement storage and for cleaning around, etc. Even fully loaded with heavy items the x-large one is easy to move around with wheels on concrete. The wheel locks work well (just place them on opposite corners of each other). The shelf spacing is very flexible with grooves for the plastic height adjusters every inch or so. Excellent for workshops, garages, basements, pantry, and contemporary or chef-quality kitchens but not something I'd put in my living room at least not in chrome. I'd probably lose the wheels if I were to put it in the kitchen to soften the look a bit.

VALUE = I was pleasantly surprised but now (August 2011) they've jacked up the price too much. See my opening paragraph. OLD REVIEW: I looked at the plastic shelves which cost less but for me the wheels, the looks, the adjustable heights, and the durability was worth the extra money. My sister has several versions of the plastic shelves in her basement and she doesn't like having to unload them or drag them across the floor to rearrange or clean. But if all you're going to store on them is boxes of bows and wrapping paper then these shelves are probably overkill. If I had a garage and/or a place for them in the kitchen I'd have more of them and put my heavy Kitchen-Aid mixer and the like on one of these.

... I have decided to edit my review. I've had a few people mark it "not helpful", probably due to it's tone or length, so I hope this is more helpful. This should be four stars, not five, but too late to change it.

... This is a solid, quality product, typically, although I suppose it's possible to get one that's not 100%. I personally have not, and I've assembled dozens of these, over thirty in all.

... If they are not assembled correctly, they can give you headaches, but I will provide assembly tips below.

... They are clinical, industrial, not cozy or homey. In a stainless steel kitchen, perfect. In a typical kitchen, probably ugly. Great for garage, closet, I keep a brushed nickel one in my kitchen.

... One important thing to mention. They're wire, so if you have an appliance, with legs, it can be unstable. For solid objects (pots, pans), it's perfect. I use it as an appliance rack, and have lexan cutouts on the shelves. It lets light through, stands up to heat, looks great. For those not using it in their kitchen, this shouldn't be an issue.

... Instead of using the feet on some shelves, I purchases large wheels from home depot, for mobility in the garage, and they thread in where the adjustment feet normally would go.

... That's it for the review, assembly instructions are below. And remember, before you make a decision on a product based on a review, look at the reviewer. If their reviews tend to vacillate between one star and five stars, "perfect product" and "worst product ever" they might not be the best, reliable source for critical information. It's not fair to you and it's not fair to the manufacturer, that some caustic or unreasonable person should have such an impact on your buying decision. Just because they decimate a product does not mean they are saving you heartache. They may just be reactionary or ignorant. You have to read between the lines.

...

... Assembly: Easy.

... Pitfalls: Not keeping plastic pieces in place while positioning shelf. Not setting plastic pieces at same heights.

... Pluses: No need to measure, just count.

... Count the one-inch lines from bottom, and place plastic pieces around leg. Your first instinct will be to line up the top or bottom of the plastic with the line on the leg, but you'll notice there is a ridge inside the plastic that fits on the indentation line on the leg. This helps keep the plastic from sliding.

... Smart tip: sandwich the two plastic pieces around the leg, smaller side up, and holding firmly, slide plastic down until the ridge clicks into the indent. Now you are at the perfect spot.

... Do the same with all four legs and double check that there are the same amount of lines below each plastic pair. If not, your shelf will pop loose.

... Stand a shelf on it's side, run each leg through until the plastic is inserted in the hole firmly. Rapping with a rubber mallet ($1) will make it firm. Stand it up on it's feet, hold the shelf down firmly, and rap on all four corners until shelf is wedged down tightly.

... Count lines up some more, clip the plastic pieces on, drop another shelf down, taking care to insert each leg gently in shelf, hold shelf down and rap solidly. Repeat until finished.

... When all is assembled, you can go back and rap all shelves for extra tightness. When moving, try and use the legs, rather than the shelf, but if the shelves are tight, they won't loosen without hammering the bottom of the shelf to knock it loose. This is why they use the plastic pieces, because they are soft and provide good grab for the shelf.

I love these shelves! Just the right size for your kitchen, bath, closet or kid's room for a hamster cage or fish tank. The Mini Metal Shelving 3-Shelves unit is an organizers dream come true.

Pro's:

+Each shelf can hold up to 160 pounds once the shelving unit is put together.

+Shelves adjust in 1" intervals for multiple configurations.

+No tools are required for assembly!

+Full assembly from out of box takes approximately 15 minutes or less.

+High quality; nice finish.

Con's:

You may need to cut some shelving to fit so your items (such as books) don't fall through the spaces between the wires. (I use wicker or canvas baskets to contain items to thwart this problem.)

-Price varies widely. I picked up mine for $13 each at my local Target store.

Great item!

If you expect these chrome shelves to look good in your kitchen or bathroom guess again. I love these shelves however they rusted almost instantly. Very unfortunate because they are stylish and just the right size. I would buy them again if they were rust proofed but until then you are just throwing your money away.

Zenith Corner Bath and Shower Caddy, White

Zenith Corner Bath and Shower Caddy, WhiteMy husband and I have gone through SEVERAL shower shelves from various "home improvement" stores. We went for flashy, shiny, and pretty and after 3 of those rusted almost immediately we then went with the ones covered in some kind of vinyl (allegedly to prevent rust). That too, rusted. We finally turned to the suction cup ones that never seem to stick and after 5 nights in a row of it falling off the wall around 3am and waking us up I decided to look online for something I had used when I was in college. A quick google search on adhesive shower shelves returned this item.

It's not pretty and it's not flashy and it looks more like something my mom would have in her trailer, but ultimately how many people look in our shower, right? It totally gets the job done.

It has a couple of hangers for the scrub sponges that my husband likes. Four places for razors and three shelves placed at different levels to accommodate soap, shampoo, and what-not.

I think my biggest complaint other than it not being pretty is that the razor holders don't hold our razors well. We use Schick Mach 3 and I'm not sure what razors they were intended to hold, but they are a little tight and as I found out the first time I tried jamming mine in there they aren't very forgiving. I didn't break the shelving unit, but I did gouge out pieces of the rubber on the sides of my razor :(

I'm giving this one four stars because I don't think that not being flashy is a reason to downgrade something that really is intended to be utilitarian.

I purchased this item as a replacement for one that just wore out after about 20 years of service. This one is larger and my wife loves it. Looks like it is stronger too. Thanks for the fine product.

This works great, as we have a very small shower area, and need all the room we can get with still having access to shampoo, soap, at al. Stays in place well, and I love the little insets that hold a plastic razor. Well pleased with this purchase.

The wife said our shower stall caddy was broken but doubted we could find a replacement.

After some diligent searching on Amazon, I found just what we needed.

This is a good built item and was exactly the same as our old thing.

Installation is so easy and the caddy does what it is designed for ~ hold stuff you need in the shower.

I also bought that 3M mounting kit show elsewhere to use for the installation.

There is an adhesive product on the caddy but, that 3M thing really does the trick for mounting.

Thanks for this offering.
