Beautiful Cube Bookcase Unit

First, the above poster's comments are not correct, the item does not cost more to ship than the bookcase costs (shipping was around $65). The item was ordered on 6/12 and it arrived at my house on 6/23, so delivery was faster than expected. It came in 2 boxes, one really large box weighing 70 pounds, and a smaller box that just contained the smaller spacer shelves.

A couple of notes:

1) The description says "may require assembly"... This is incorrect, it definately requires assembly. You will need a screwdriver and a hammer.

2) The quality is just so-so. The back is made out of that really thin thin wood that you tack onto the back. I was expecting something much more substantial.

3) There is a tag on it saying that the manufacturer is Coaster Fine Furniture, and the website is coastercompany dot com

All in all, it is a descent unique bookcase and perfect for my kids room. Lots of cubbies to store his stuff in.

The product works fine & looks about as I expected for the price. Just be careful when you are putting it together as the pieces are not labeled as to which part they are. When putting it together, my fiance put one of the interior sides upside down (like I said, not labeled!). Of course, we didn't figure it out until we went to put the shelves in! Needless to say, they were crooked. So he had to take it apart & start all over again!

I travel on a lot of trips with one or two night stays and then on to the next place. I thought this would help with eliminating the packing and unpacking for just the night or two. I thought it would help with finding things quickly. It almost does that...however...

I am down to only taking one carry-on and this unit only fits into the largest carry-on bag which is also the heaviest. I tried putting the clothes on the shelves and couldn't close the carry-on. I put the clothes into space saver bags, then on the shelves and the carry-on wouldn't close. Then I put the shelves in, then rolled the space savers as usual and everything fit. So off I went.

When I got to the B & B I took out the rolled bags, set the shelves in the closet, opened the space savers and put them on the shelves. Yes, it did help organize and keep my clothes safely out of buggy legs and mites. When it was time to pack up for the road trip I took the shelves off the closet bar and everything fell out. Not a time saver there. But since we had a car I didn't have to tightly close the carry-on. It ended up I tied a ribbon around the shelves so the clothes wouldn't fall out and just carried the shelves to the car and put them in the trunk, then at the next stop carried them in.

Not really great for what the shelves did. Don't think I'll be using them much. DESIGN NEEDS TO INCLUDE SOME SORT OF CLOSURE FOR WHEN THE SHELVES ARE OPEN OR PLACE THE HANGERS CLOSER TO THE FRONT SO SHELVES TIP BACK.

This is the perfect product for travelling light. It fits perfectly in my carry-on bag and it makes packing a breeze.

Office Bookcase With Cabinet

I purchased two of these to go along with my matching executive desk and file cabinet. Just like the desk, these file cabinets are beautiful, VERY solid and VERY heavy. They're not constructed of flimsy plywood with a cardboard sheet on the back. They're solid wood and they have a beautiful stain and finish no veneer. It matches my executive desk perfectly. Given the price, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. Shelves are solid and level, but do not appear to be adjustable. The doors line-up nicely and snap shut well. Hardware is nice and sturdy. Wood has a good stain that catches the light.

I wish they had provided, or allowed, for some type of lighting at the top of the cabinet. I would have paid a little extra for that and it would make these bookcases really stand-out. However, given the price, I can't complain.

Very well packaged. Ships as a single piece. Extremely heavy, so have two people with strong backs to help you move this.

I actually bought one of these racks at Lowes a while back for about the same price. It is just great. I lived in a small apartment and this rack seem to double the storage of my kitchen. I filled the bottom shelves with wicker baskets and was able to store pots and pans, plastic containers and many more kitchen items. It's so much better than kitchen drawers. You can store a ton of plastic containers and lids in the baskets and have easy access to them. You can hang utensils for easy access. I use the top shelf for storing tea boxes, candles and small items. In addition to all the storage you have another 3 feet of hardwood (mine is oak) counter space for preparing food. If you live with a small kitchen this rack is an instant remodel. I can't say enough about this rack. It's great.

I learned right away that the kitchen in my new apartment wasn't big enough for two people to comfortably (or efficiently) work in at once. Scratch that. It WAS big enough, but not very well laid-out. We didn't have enough counter space or cupboards.

This rack totally changed that. We store pans, food, tupperware, and a couple of small appliances on it, freeing up the rest of our kitchen. Even with so much on it, the cutting board is still completely open to use. We now spend many nights a week together in the kitchen, preparing and cooking food. Lovely!

I bought this baker's rack to use as a microwave stand mainly. But I've found you can put so much more on it. I have my microwave on the top rack, my convection oven on the middle shelf, and a vintage style budweiser crate on the bottom shelf to store odds and ends. The very top shelf, I use to hold my plants. With all that weight on it, it seems to be pretty sturdy. I wouldn't let your kids climb on it, but it holds what you need it to without feeling like it's going to collapse. Also, an added bonus, it was exremely easy to put together. The directions it came with just had picture diagrams to follow, but once you get started, you don't even need them. Plus it looks great in my kitchen.

For the price this is a really nice rack. Amazon's price is the lowest I found and free shipping made it an even better deal. We use this rack in front of our sliding door to the deck to hold seedlings and all of the garden stuff we had all over the dining room before we got it. It works out beautifully.

This rack is not the industrial-duty type sold elsewhere but a smaller, cheaper imitation. Overall it serves its purpose. The counter top is a little lower than a stove top and at 6'3" tall I need to hunch over to use it, but it's not unbearable. At 40% the price of the industrial-grade racks, and in desperate need of counter space and kitchen storage, I'm going to keep it and make due. However, if I compared this to the professional grade racks in a store, I'd probably pay extra for a heavy duty rack.

This is a decent product. I have had good luck with this brand before. However, this time, I was rather disappointed in the printed assembly instructions. Also, out of almost 100 parts (NOT including screws) only 10% were actually MARKED. I find this unacceptable. When a company provides an item that must be assembled, they should provide clear, concise documentation, and clearly marked parts. I am a union craftsman, and have worked with my hands for the better part of 35 years, so I KNOW how to assemble things. I think that, given the impediments, that this assembly might be too difficult for a novice.

That being said, I really LIKE the finished product. There are some things that could have been done better, but all in all, it is a really nice and relatively well-made product. As stated above, I've purchased products from this manufacturer before and they always provide a nice, lower cost, alternative to real wood products.

Rubbermaid 1780723 Pantry Organization Under Shelf Pull Out Drawer

I have two of the "large" drawers. Easy to install to wire shelving (need small flat-head screw-driver). Fits 16" deep (front to back) shelving. The drawer pulls out at a downward angle, and FYI doesn't pull out quite all the way like a regular. In fact, see the photo above that's as far as it comes out. Also FYI, I picked up the large drawer at Walmart for ten dollars!

I couldn't find dimensions for this item before I bought it (or the large one IIRC). So, the box says 15.50 x 7.62 x 4.15 in (39.36 x 19.37 x 10.56 cm)

It install easily under a wood desktop and it has clips that make it look like it would install easily under wire shelves although the box says "fits under 16" shelves" so it may not fit all depths of wire shelving. When open the top of the drawer at the front is about 6" below the bottom of the desk top and about 4" out from the edge of desk. It is easy to access the whole drawer although with my lighting the rear is very dark.

I hope this helps. It meets my need nicely and was pretty easy to install.

You would think someone would market a simply attached drawer that you pull out and put stuff into. This thing is a total piece of crap. It pulls out very little and everything slides down in a pile.

We needed a tall narrow black cabinet for a corner in our small black and white marble bathroom and this cabinet fit our requirements perfectly. However, we recommend that you buy it through Walmart and have it delivered for pick-up at your local store. We ordered through Amazon initially and the cabinet was delivered with serious damage since the packaging was completely inadequate for such a heavy item (the cardboard was broken open in several places and the damage was readily apparent.) We refused acceptance of delivery and reordered it through Walmart, where it arrived in perfect condition. It was $150 there but free delivery with pick-up at the store. There were still a few minor scratches, I assume present from the factory handling, but a black sharpie took care of those. A few black dowels to cover the holes for the screws would have been nice. The cabinet assembled without problems, the doors and drawer open and close tight and flush. We put toilet paper, spare hand towels and a few toiletries in the drawer and cabinet below; display items behind the glass door above. The cabinet is simple with nice detailing on the bottom and top and looks good for the price.

Looks like it might be great however the package had 2 of the same side for the top and of course there is no phone number to call. There was a form with all the parts listed that could be faxed asking for replacement parts which I did. It's been 2 weeks and I have not received my replacement parts so, I am only using the bottom 2/3rds at the moment, I do like the parts I am able to use. It was pretty easy to put together the parts that were correct. It would be nice if there was a phone number listed. Guess I'll have to go digging on the internet for it. Would I recommend it? Yes, as long as all the parts are there.

I liked the combination of doors with and without glass and the drawer. This was the hardest piece of furniture I have ever put together. Several holes were not big enought for the connecting part to go in. I had to work to enlarge the hole in order to complete the job. It did not feel stable when I had put it together. Even after putting reinforcement pieces in, it still lists to one side. Additionally, the top door does not close smoothly. I will need to take sand paper to it.

For an inexpensive cabinet, this has been great! I put it together myself with minimal help from my husband, he helped with making sure the doors lined up correctly and shut well. All of the pieces came in perfect condition, nothing was broken, dented or damaged at all. This serves it's purpose as a small storage cabinet in our guest powder room and I couldn't be happier with the way it makes the room look!

Rubbermaid Configurations Seven-Pair Pants Rack

Bought 4 of these sliding pants racks, 2 for my closet and 2 for husband's closet. Boughts several other accessories to go along with the two closet systems we bought and this was by far the trickiest to install. Instructions seemed easy enough but for some reason it just wasn't that easy to get it into the uprights. I actually ended up bending one of the brackets when one side fell. I got it straightened and installed eventually. Nice that the rack glides in and out. Make sure your closet doors will not block the unit when it is slid out. In my closet there was only one section of the uprights that it could work in an 8-foot closet. The pants rack holds 7 pairs of slacks which my husband thinks is a waste of space. Horizontally it may seem wasteful but it actually saves space vertically as there is not the extra inches taken up by hangers. You can also put two pairs of pants on each rod if the material isn't that thick. Overall, I really like the sliding pants rack, just be careful installing it.

Make sure you have have room for this item. It is a bit wide. Installation is easier if the brackets are installed before assembly. The screws are not hard to install once the support brackets are on the standards. Takes up a lot of space but moves very smoothly.

I got two one on top of the other to minimize the space this takes up. If I had it to do again, I would not buy these and just use regular pants hangers.

Overall the Rubbermaid configurations are very easy to install. Just this piece, it was very difficult.

1. You must install the original bars at exactly 2' apart, even if a little wider / narrow, you'll have a heck of a time trying to put this pant holder on.

2. When you finally sucessfully install it, you'll find this item takes way too much space than what it's worth. In the space you fit 1 pant holder, you can fit 2 x 26" shelves. If you fold the pants, you can put a lot more. If you use a pants cloth hanger, it'll hold a lot more than 7 pairs in that area.

3. This unit costs $50, it looks nice, but in actual use, it's inferior compared to the other parts and accessories of the Rubbermaid Configuration.

Got 2 of these, ended up returning both and bought more of the 26" shelves, far more useful.

We put up one side of our closet organizer first, then tried to put the pants rack on... next to impossible! It was slightly too wide so we had to loosen the screws, put it on, then tighten them. On the other side we actually used the pant rack to space out the vertical bars before we attached them to the wall, but that was a fiasco because we had a ton of trouble trying to get the rack back off! It's really nice and functional otherwise :)

SMART SHELF CORNER SHELVES SET OF 3

[I'm raising my rating by a star simply to alert any prospective consumer that this one is 1. better looking and 2. sturdier than some otherwise near-identical instant shelves "advertised on TV" and sold on Amazon. If you want to give one a try--for holding magazines, books, an antenna or cheap speaker, etc., and certainly nothing breakable, this is most likely your best bet.]

Ever strike you as odd that the makers of the most disposable gadgets use television to sell their wares, then try to get extra bang for their buck by advertising the same thing on a site like Amazon with the endorsement: "As seen on TV!" I haven't seen the ad for this one (iPods and books have become more attractive alternatives to insomnia than telemarketing as seen on a high definition, 1080 pixel flat screen). I can just imagine the television ad--a calm housewife very smoothly, deftly, and easily attaching these shelves to every nook and cranny in the house with one effortless spin of the dial--no strain, no pain, no damage to the fingernails.

Wake-up call. They're not that easy to screw in (make that "knife in") to your walls, especially if the material is not porous plywood (or even cardboard). So after turning red several times over, I managed to get the blades to wedge into the corner walls--sort of. I'm fairly confident the shelf will stay up--though expecting it to hold anything weighing more than an ounce or two may be asking for a bit much. The picture on the box shows shelves loaded down with stereo speakers, a dozen CD jewel cases, a short-wave radio (it had better be battery-operated, because there's no place for a cord to go up the back side of the shelf).

The instructions for "SmartShelf" say "holds nine pounds," and even provide additional pictures of potted plants, tools, glass vases. Dream on. Still, I figured $5 per shelf would be worth it if I could get each shelf to hold a single book or magazine that I was in the process of reading (please don't put your laptop computer on the shelf and expect Apple to repair it, in or out of warranty). I've noticed that magazine publishers are reducing the number of pages and enlarging the print of their publications--so maybe it has a chance of fulfilling my wildest dreams. If not, we could all use a bit of extra suspense in our lives now and then. (Just don't ram it into a corner where kitty can take a shot at practicing his standing leap.)

I bought these shelves because I needed something and really couldn't afford the nicer made shelves. Well it was a complete waste of time. I got them to stay up on the first try, but 5 minutes later everything came crashing down. Now I can't get them to stay even on the wooden panel walls in the livingroom. Don't make the same mistake I did.

ive had one of these mounted in the corner by my bed for ages and ages. it holds a small bedside lamp and a book and some other junk just fine. i have seen these advertised on tv, and the advertisement makes it look easier to install than it really is. it is difficult to press and lock the shelf into the wall, but once you do it right, it's very sturdy. there's a trick: once you get it into place and are ready to lock it to the wall, you'll want to use an object other than your bare fingers to do the job, and you have to press pretty firmly. it takes some muscle. i used a flat head screw driver instead of my fingers to press the lock in. it also helps to have someone hold it in place for you. if you actually press it hard enough to the lock position, [ and if youre paying attention to what youre doing you can see that it is locked in place] it will not come crashing down. mine never has. you just have to pay attention. really, it isnt as easy as it looks on tv but if you install it *all the way, and properly* it will serve as a sturdy place to keep stuff in a low traffic area. just a reminder, be careful of the razors. :)

Not much to this just a simple plastic shelf. The plastic is sturdy and does its job. The suction cup works great but if there's too much weight on the end side it may come out of place. Other than that this is simple and it does its job.

I needed a shelf for a few items in the tub and this reallt fit the bill. It works perfectly for my needs.

Great price and great quality. The cube is actually large enough to hold my textbooks but it only occupies not much space. It looks nice but it takes some time and tool to assemble it. It is easy to assemble in general.

The wood was scratched when it arrived but other than that the product was in descent condition. Nice size for the price and somewhat easy to assemble.

I like to properly store my photo and scrapbook albums so they can last as much as possible. This requires for them to be stored vertically; horizontal storage will damage the photos eventually. Most of the albums are more than 12 inches high and finding proper funiture that is both versatile and will accomodate that size is not common. This furniture collection has the perfect blend of storage size and versatility (you can rearrange them depending on your needs!).

As a Scrapbooker, this furniture collection also provides excellent storage space for the Scrapbooking materials.

My only recomendation to them would be to have more colors available. I have not tried to paint them a different color...yet...but that will be something I will consider in the future.

I ordered several pieces and when opening the packages, some parts were missing. I contacted the supplier (via Amazon.com) and received the missing parts within a week. That was an excellent response and I will recomend buying from this supplier based on that experience.

I was a bit skeptical to order such inexpensive shelves for my garage, but decided to give Quick-Shelf shelves a try. I can't believe how sturdy, easy to install, and inexpensive they are. It's ridiculous how this company is not sold in every home improvement store. They are not designed to be designer "sexy" looking shelves, but they actually look really cool in the garagealmost like floating boards. It's amazing how much weight they can handle. I strongly recommend these, and the other Quick-Shelf shelves for your garage, attic, closet, basement, etc... as I have now ordered 5 sets in varying sizes for multiple rooms in my home... and will undoubtedly order more as my storage needs grow over time. Just make sure you have the necessary tools when installing these and the ceiling mount ones. I would recommend: a stud finder (just a cheap one will work), cordless or corded drill with a 3/16" drill bit, a phillips head bit for the drill, a 5/16" socket for the drill (for installing the lag screws) or just a crescent wrench will work, a tape measure and a level. Quality construction, made in America, easy, inexpensive... what more do you need?

This is a great garage type shelf unit. I keep scrap wood trim on mine and the pcs don't fall aff cuz of the wire sides. They don't come with instructions so you kinda have to guess as to how it is suppposed to go. Not too complicated tho'

Be advised that a level is basically required in order to properly install the shelving brackets (I used a laser level from the first hole I drilled). The strength of this unit is its flexibility; I installed it in a small bar closet only 24" wide that was partially taken up by some plumbing. I highly recommend securing it to the wall at intervals (not just at the top where it hangs) to avoid swaying when you take things off and put them on.

It took all of ten mins to drill the holes ,install the eyehooks and hang the brackets together. I use this for clothes instead of a dresser to save on floor space, man its simple easy and cool looking for an industrial loft. It came packed smartly, cut the ties ,drill your holes and hang the brackets. I called my local home improvement warehouse ordered pine cut at 5 ft lengths as per the instructions, picked it up and presto it was up and holding clothes. I love this thing!!!
