I bough three of these to put under one of our kitchen cabinets. The arrived as advertised but after installing and using them disappointing and eventually decided to uninstall and find a better solution. Here are my complaints:

1. They are just an inch or two too short. 3 medium wine glasses don't fit comfortably, making us nervous that the last glass might slip out and break on the counter top. This isn't the sellers fault necessarily but...

2. The biggest issue is the "V" opening. It looks good but effectively reduces the depth making it much easier for a glass to slip out. This issue caused us to uninstall and search for another solution.

3. The screws could be better. They are unnecessarily long and poked through the bottom of my cabinet. Also they are cheap so some of the heads stripped despite predrilling holes.

After uninstalling I went to Lowes and to my surprise I found almost identical wine racks both in terms of finish and dimensions but CHEAPER and without the flaws mentioned above. They were the same length but they'd a square opening for the glasses in stead of the "V" opening. That gave us just enough room to store three glasses comfortably. The screws were also the correct length and better quality.

Overall these would be OK if I you were buying longer racks making the V opening a non-issue. The screws would still be insufficient but that would be an annoying but minor issue. BUT if you are looking for something 10-12 inch in length, go to Lowes. You will get a better product at a better price.

I ordered these hesitantly as I've been looking at different wine glass racks for a while now and many comments were about the size of the entry point and such. When I received my order, 2 of the 3 racks were perfect... they fit my nice fancy glasses and look great. The third, however, was a completely different size and finish. It was still "chrome" but it has a different level of shiny and it has a different height and width so my glasses didn't fit and it protrudes below the height of the others once hung. Pretty annoying to not get the same item if you ask me...

Otherwise, the first two were exactly what I was looking for... and I'd love to have a few more just like those, but I'm hesitant to buy here.

I bought two of these racks and they were both poorly constructed. The two flat ends (with the screw holes) were welded incorrectly so that those pieces were crooked in relation to the metal bars that hold the glasses. It may have been okay if they were equally screwed up because I could create the illusion that they shouldn't be straight.

If only one of them were bad, I would shrug it off as being an anomaly, but since they were both bad, I have to credit a bad product. I would not recommend this product.

Ordered 5 of these wine racks. All were not properly welded. This made hanging and squaring the racks very difficult. Save your money. Dont buy this product.

It's low profile, so it hides under a cabinet easily. It holds wine glasses without any problem and I haven't experienced any negative effects (scratched glass, dropped glass, etc). All in all, it's exactly what you would expect it to be.

***Update: 9/25/2012, two years later and we're still using both closet sets every day. They still look like the day I bought them. Nothing has broken or bent.***

We are a family of 4 in a small house. We decided it was time to turn the unused downstairs space in our home, that was a den, into a large master bedroom. That way our kids who are pre-teens could have the 2 larger bedrooms upstairs and I could make the small bedroom into an office. Everything was working out perfectly until we discovered we had no where to put our clothing.

Sure there were areas down in the laundry room where we could hang things, but we needed a place to have our every day clothes. But we just didn't have the money to put hundreds or thousands of dollars into building closets or armoires. These Whitmor 6779-3044 Double Rod Closets were just what we needed.

I spent about 2 weeks looking for an inexpensive closet set that was also sturdy. I found reviews on this set on several websites and decided to go with it. It took about 30 min to put together the first one, about 15 min for the second. Even though the whole set is light weight, it is very sturdy.

For my closet rack:

I have all of my smaller tops hanging from the top bar, and my heavier sweatshirts and sweaters on the bottom. I have about 40+ women's shirts (size Med or Large) on the top bar and the bar does not appear to be under any strain at all. They range from tank tops to long sleeve shirts, and everything in between. I have about 20 women's sweatshirts and sweaters (same sizes) hanging from the bottom bar and not only does it appear sturdy, I could easily put more on it.

I chose to take all of my denim jeans and fold them and stack them on the shelves on the side. I have a good number of jeans (about 15-20 pair) and even though I could have hung them up, I needed the hanging space for my tops. I have all of these jeans on one shelf.

I also use one of the shelves for my lounge/yoga style pants. I have about 25 pairs folded into one shelf.

I used the 3rd and 4th shelf with bins in them. I keep socks in one bin and undergarments in another.

Along the top of the closet, I was able to put a ton of handbags and bulky items. Lots of storage space up there.

My husbands closet rack:

He has all of his pants on the bottom bar, all of his tops on the top bar. He also uses bins for undergarments and socks. He also keeps his law enforcement gear, uniforms, and boots along the top shelves and he still has tons of space left to use.

So to wrap this up:

You can fit so much more on/in the closet then you could believe. The metal is lightweight, yet never bends of has any problems holding the weight of clothing. We have been using them as our everyday closets for a few months now and have had no problems with any kind of tipping or instability. It does not lean in any direction, and even totally filled up, we were able to pull the closets out from the wall and get something that had fallen behind it, and nothing bent, broke, tipped or crashed. So if your looking for something of good quality with an affordable price tag that will hold everything, this is it!

I am planing on ordering another one to have a place to hang formal clothing and seasonal outerwear that doesn't get used year round as well.

I am a college student who moved into a room of a house that didn't have a closet so I saw this on Amazon and decided to give it a try. This thing is in my room holding probably 60-80 articles of clothing on hangers and it is as sturdy as can be. I am very happy with my purchase. The people whose products are falling apart are obviously not putting the product together correctly and not following the instructions. The plastic is thick and strong and the metal has no flex. This has been an excellent product and I feel more organized than when I had a normal closet. If you need a closet, get this and put some elbow grease into your assembly. Make sure the pieces lock into place and above all else take your time.

To the guy putting books on the shelves and writing poor reviews: What are you thinking? It is a closet not a bookshelf, they have bookshelves for 13 dollars at Wal-Mart.

I was skeptical about this item at first because some gave it negative reviews. However I find few flaws in it after owning it for a few months now. I simply needed an additional place to hang clothes since my closet was too small. I can also lay folded clothes on the side shelves.

It's cheap, simple, and easy to put together. The guy who wrote the review about it breaking probably wasn't too sharp, I repeat it's easy to put together. It's made of plastic so use common sense, don't force anything and it won't break. It's also not going to hold too much weight but that was to be expected. Take it for what it is, a cheap way to make a small room or a room with no closet liveable.

My one and only con for this item. If you have both hanging rods in place it doesn't really offer enough room to hang things. For example, if you hang shirts from the top bar they will touch or rest on the lower bar. A minor pet pieve of mine that might not bother anyone else. I just took the bottom bar off which is easily re-attached.

All in all I am very pleased with this purchase.

We purchased two of these closet systems after moving from a three bedroom home (with two walk-in closets!) to a one bedroom home (with no walk-ins). The storage provided by this product is simply outstanding and each unit can take quite a bit of weight. Very easy to assemble and very stable once assembled.

One small complaint: the double-hanging space is simply too short to store my 6'3" husband's clothes. So I use both of these closet units and he uses the bedroom closet. I'm 5'8" and I can hang my clothes in the double-hanging configuration.

I'll start off with a disclaimer about my expectations for this product. After having read several dozen reviews stating this product was absolutely sturdy, easy to put together, and pretty good all around I was delighted to have finally found such a product. I ended up being slightly dissapointed.

My biggest complaint is the "instruction" manual for assembly. I'm a fairly handy person having remodeled an entire house and also pretty good with electronics from building computers and repairing various peices of equipment. I hardly ever read instruction manuals, rather I reference them for key peices of information regarding w/e product I happen to be working with. The only real peice of information I could need from this set of instructions was the directionality of the connecting center supports. And from what I could tell the instructions depicted parts which did not exist in my assorted collection of rods, plastic, and shelves. In the end it probably doesn't matter as the unit went together regardless. It was a minor annoyance, but poor instructions(especially ones that describe or appear to depict peices which are clearly different) are probably my biggest complaint across the DIY furniture segment in general.

So after about 15 minutes of tapping rod into holes with a rubber mallet(small block of wood and hammer would work well too) I had assembled this gangly looking metal and plastic rack. Given a level surface I can imagine the unit would be pretty sturdy as a whole. I would still recommend fastening it to your wall in some way to prevent an unbalanced load from tipping it over, as is possible with any free standing shelving unit (this has nothing to do with the unit like other reviews might lead you to believe, rather it is simple physics).

The shelving is welded to the structural tubing and I fear it will give way with excess weight or force (as I have seen happen at my place of employment where we have 1 shelf with a similar configuration). Milling a small hole into the tube, inserting the rod and then welding would have created a much stronger bond that would be less likely to break over time. The center rods that form the larger shelves have a considerable amount of give to them and bowed very easily when pressure was applied.

The connectors for the top and bottom center shelving sections came apart twice during assembly of the unit. It didn't seem to matter how hard I forced the 2 shelves into each other they would not stay together. This could be a problem with the plastic connector or and simply a poor design. I would have liked to see a screw of some sort to accomplish the job of connecting 1 metal peice to another metal peice on a horizontal plane. I will probably do just that myself if I find the unit continually splits in 2.

Overall I am pleased with the look and feel of the unit. Assembly was easy (15 minutes, really?!) and required absolutely no tools, though I'm not sure that is an advantage since it means no screws or locking mechanisms in this case. For the money I don't think you'll find a better organization unit and with only a few slight modifications this shelving unit would be absolutely superb.

The previous reviewers state that the nails are smaller than the holes in the supports. They are correct. However, by reading and following the directions, one should insert the plastic anchor through the hole in the support into the pre-drilled holes in the wall followed by tapping in the nail as directed. If the hole in the wall was pre-drilled to the specified size in the directions, the install should proceed with no issues. Like my dad always told me, "When all else fails, READ the directions!". Sage advice.

Hung this in my closet to add more storage space. Everything about it worked out great. Came with all the supplies.

I was looking for a way to organize the laundry closet in my apartment and I figured I could not go wrong with ClosetMaid. I did have to cut this down to the length I needed (instructions are provided on how to do this), end caps were provided for the cut ends. This shelf is very sturdy (I have a large stack of cook books on it now) and it was very easy to install.

I was uncertain if this would be a good buy considering there were no prior reviews and I could not see the item in person. Well, it arrived yesterday and we put it together this morning. It is a beautiful addition to our living room, well built, sturdy, and very simple to assemble. My partner calls it "ingenious." The instructions are very easy to follow and there are no tools needed......we LOVE this stand !!!!

The weak link is the top. Do not assemble and try to lift it by the top as the top will loosen. Very attractive stand that looks like quality furniture. The assembly instructions should be specific about the direction to install the center divider. Be sure the door magnet holes on the center divider are positioned to the front of the stand.

Oxford Bookcase

I ordered two of these bookcases to use in my pantry. They went together easily and look quite good given the low cost. They aren't real wood, but MDF for the main components and hardboard on the back. I didn't like the back. It took the paint a little differently so that it didn't quite match (I replaced the backs with 1/8" luan). They also forgot to drill it at the bottom. But, it wasn't a real problem. You just need a couple of screwdrivers (and, in my case, a drill) to put it together. One thing I don't like is all of the off-gassing. I have never smelled such a stinky piece of furniture. Fortunately, the weather has been good. I put it together with all of the doors open then put it into the pantry with the door closed and the window open. A week later, it's still stinky in there, but getting better!

It arrived onetime. Packaging was safe and not so heavy that my son , a 14 year old could not handle. Very easy to put together. Recommended

I bought this shelf for my daughter's bedroom. It was very easy to assemble and feels very sturdy. The pieces on the back of the shelf are not the same white as the rest of the shelf, but as soon as we filled it up that didn't really matter. I recently received the shelf and realized that the picture and the actual shelf do not match. Suffice it to say it's my own fault for not paying more attention to the height but they shouldn't post up a photo if it's not the same item. That's what I get for rush shopping. Just a word of warning.

Speaking on the item itself, the materials are nice and did not come damaged. I have ordered from this company before and they have good items, very nice designs. I'll still keep it and put it in another place but wish the listing was accurately displayed...hence the 3 stars.

I purchased the Crosley cart directly from the Wayfair's website. I was amazed how fast it was shipped. I placed the order over the weekend and arrived from the Midwest to California the following Friday. It ships in three boxes. The first box (about 4.5ft tall x 2.5ft wide) contains the body, the second box (about 4.5ft tall x 1.5 ft wide) contains the marble top, and the third box (8in tall x 6in wide) contains the wooden legs. The heaviest of the three boxes is the one that contains the marble top. I would say it weights about 50 pounds. Everything is well packaged. Overall, I was able to move them on my own.

It took me about 2 hrs to assemble the cart and did it all by myself. The directions were clear, all the parts were well labeled, and everything went together smoothly. The quality of the materials and the workmanship are superb. The parts feel solid along with the color and style of the cart give it an expensive look. Although I ordered it with wooden the legs, casters are also included so that one has both options during assembly.

Word of caution, when installing the doors, which is amazingly easy to do, make sure to pay attention to the location of the top metal plate on the door that aligns with the magnet. If you happen to install the doors upside down, you will waste about 20 min dissembling and reassembling the cart.

I love my kitchen island. It's a great value for the price -a lot sturdier than I was expecting and looks high end. My only disappointment is that I got the stainless steel top. The top is quality, but the brushed silver shows fingerprints, dust and any residue. Top also scratches easily. It has proven to be high maintenance. The wood top or marble top would have been a better choice for me... more forgiving for an active kitchen.

The kitchen island looks very nice and the granite top is a big plus, but the island sways back and forth if you push on it from the sides. In other words, the craftsmanship is not great. Seeing as I made sure to tighten all of the screws to the max, I would certainly recommend using wood glue between the pieces and not just rely on the screws for strength. I remembered to do this about a quarter of the way through putting the unit together, so I wasn't able to benefit from this added reinforcement as much as I could have.

Well made...pretty easy to put together. A little harder to center and place on wall. Some difficulty due to non-pre-drilled holes and no screws included. The shelf looks and works great!

I purchased this cubbie for one of my cottage bedrooms at the lake. This bedroom is small in size and has no closet for clothes storage. This cubbie has worked beautifully as my kids now have hooks to hang up some of their clothes and storage bins to store hats, cameras, sun glasses, sun tan lotion, etc...It looks great and I am very pleased with it. It was easy to assemble, however my husband had to drill new holes for the hooks as the original holes were slightly off and the hooks were on an angle, not straight.

I received my shelf box yesterday and it only took about 30 minutes to build and 10 minutes to mount. I found it very easy to the follow instructions once I matched up the pieces to the diagram in the box. The key is NOT over tightening the connectors. Just follow the instructions (half turn only) and you will be fine. I recommend waiting to attach the coat hooks until AFTER it is mounted. It makes building and lifting it into place, much more comfortable. Be sure to mount the hanging bar with 3" drywall screws and use a level along the top to ensure it hangs properly. You will get best results by pre-drilling the mounting holes prior to final mounting. While there will be a 1" gap between the bottom shelf and the mounting bar, it wasn't a big deal to me since once you put something in the cubby, you can't see it anyway. It is PERFECT for my 9 and 12 yr old sons who can't seem to get their coats to stay on regular hangers!

It does seem to be made of a particle board of some sort, but nothing that you notice when its assembled, it is very heavy and large, chech the dementions, I love it though, its great.
