In my limited experience, the whitmoor metal shelving is on par with metro at a much lower price-point. This cart is sturdy and works quite well for me except for one flaw I unfortunately found.

It was too late by the time I found out that my cart, with approximately 40lbs of weight on it, left tracks all over my hardwood. Upon inspection, it was easy to see that the wheels have a small lip on the inside of them from coming out of a mold. So instead of having an inch surface distributing the weight they had a fraction of an inch lip taking the weight and digging down into my floor. This was certainly unexpected and my new flooring is certainly now flawed to the visible eye.

While I could possibly try to sand down the lip, I now just use my cart as a stand instead. Live, learn, share.

These carts and shelving units are the best I've ever seen. They are flexible in shelf height, a minimum of one inch between, and it is very easy to reposition shelves after months of use... I have several shelf units and two carts and I plan on purchasing more. For those of you unfamiliar, not a better purchase can be made. Some units even come with wheels for even more flexibility.

This cart cost me only around $29 on sale, and it's perfect for my microwave oven on top and my toaster oven in the middle. Some say you can turn the top rack upside down to accommodate a microwave oven without having the door hit the sides of the shelf. This is not true. The cart is designed for each shelf to be placed with the correct side up, otherwise it would just rest insecurely. I did easily resolve the problem with the microwave door by putting a cork coaster under each of the microwave's front two feet. Now it opens perfectly.

This cart is not quite as sturdy as others say. On a hard kitchen floor, you can lock two of the four castors, but this doesn't help. Even if locked, the cart can just slide around on the hard floor, like when you push buttons on the microwave. I have it pushed against the wall, and that helps, but it still shakes when I press microwave buttons.

For the price I think it's perfect for my kitchen. It is sturdy, just not quite as sturdy as other reviewers are raving about.

Over The Door Pantry Organizer

this shelf is a piece of junk. The dimensions on Amazon said l4.4 x10 x10 which would work on my narrow pantry door and the box states 17 x5.25 x51. Doesn't work.

In the last fifteen minutes I have received my package, installed the organizer and loaded it with canned goods and packages of pasta. The hardest part was deciding what to put in it.

The trick to this product is to hang it on a REAL door. It is designed to hang on a normal interior door. Mine is on the back of my laundry closet.

It is sturdy. It is holding a lot of weight. It does not wiggle or slip when I open and close the door. I even gave the door a "slam" and everything stayed right where I had put it.

I love this.

I live in an apartment and finding something sturdy enough to be useful without having to drill holes in the walls is tricky.

For a rack that fits over the door rather than screwing into it, this item is perfectly adequate. As other reviewers have mentioned. it does sway when you close the door, but it's not a big deal. Maybe try shutting the door gently... just a thought. The good people of the Command adhesive product line make a cord clip that solves the problem neatlysans holes in your doors.

Part of the problem was my pantry door is smaller than the standard door. The other part was the product was too flimsy to even attempt to work right. It felt like I was hanging baskets on uneven lengths of chain link. I will never use a product like this that comes in this many pieces.

Good value, not bad at all and pretty easy to assemble, no assembling tools required, no missing pieces. Item is a little flimsy but again, the price is right as I was not willing to spend too much money on an old bathroom.

I can tell these are economy shelves, but they look good and serve their purpose well. They are holding up pretty good with only some water spots here and there from reaching for a towel when wet. I couldn't find any other shelves I liked that weren't very expensive. It seems you either get these which are very economical in price, but the quality/build seems match the price. Still for the price I think they very nice shelves. These are very similar to shelves I saw in my local JC-P store which were close to double the price even when on sale.

I guess I will have to disagree with the majority of reviews here I wasn't a fan of this item and won't be using it. The shelves are much smaller and narrower than they appear in the picture, it was hard to get the screws into some of the legs, and the whole thing just looks rather junky.

Suncast Storage Building

If you are in the market for a vinyl or resin type storage building, this is certainly one worth looking at. There are not a lot of reviews posted on this shed at the present, so take your time and do your homework before choosing any of them. I would advise a visit to your local Lowes or Home Depot to look at vinyl buildings first handed. Regarding building the shed, I built my Suncast 10' x 12' on a 3/4" exterior grade, treated plywood platform and 2" x 6" lumber as opposed to a concrete slab. I used "Dek Blocks" to support the platform, which really made the job easy to level and very strong. I used 27 blocks in total or 3 Dek-Blocks per 10' joist. Making sure the platform is square and dead level is key to building this shed. If you do a good job on the base, the assembly of the shed is really quite simple and even rewarding when completed. Most of the shed snaps together which I found unusual. That concerned me with regards to durability but I have certainly overcome that comfort level. The parts are indeed well built, extremely precise and although some of the parts seem to be quite flimsy out of the box "mainly the walls", once the assembly is completed and all tied together, the shed is really quite sturdy. I followed my own intuition regarding the building of the platform as I found Suncast's instructions quite poor in that area. Common sense will help you through that. Personally, I like the Royal Winchester storage building a tad more as the side walls and roof panels are built using 2" thick material honeycomb resin panels. This building is very solid! The Winchester shed which measures 8' x 10' is sold at your local Lowes. I did not choose this shed as the extension kit to make it 10' x 12' was way too expensive. If you don't want to read my complaint in full please understand who you will be dealing with before you buy a Suncast product. Their products have no warranty. If something fails because the part was defective they won't replace it. Remember -THERE IS NO WARRANTY AND THEY WILL NOT STAND BY THIER PRODUCT. I purchased a Suncast 10' x 12.5' shed (model A01B37C03)six months ago. Myself and a friend built a very sturdy floor (2" x 6" joists covered with 3/4" plywood)at some considerable expense. The assembly instructions were straight forward and we completed the shed in one day. The roof of the shed is supported by 3 metal ridge beams (I understand they are using 5 beams on the latest model). The beams sit in "pockets" in the header panels. The pockets are vinyl as is the rest of the material. I was initially impressed with the materials but now for the rest of the story. I opened the shed door this week to find water on the floor. Further examination found that one of the header beams had collapsed the vinyl pocket and buckled the roof causing the skylights that form the ridge to shatter. The roof was open to the elements. There was no severe storm and nothing was ever placed on the roof. I contacted Suncast to request replacement of the failed header panel and the skylights. They informed me that the shed comes with a "out of the box" warranty. Once erected,Suncast will warranty nothing. THERE IS NO WARRANTY. They will not stand by their product. Clearly they recognized that the design was faulty because they now use 5 beams instead of 3 to support the roof. Don't buy a Suncast shed.

This May 2009 review is for the Suncast Model A01B37C03 10' x 12 1/2' Storage Building -purchased from Amazon. Also see the pictures that I have uploaded.

The most important thing for prospective purchasers to note is that Suncast has substantially improved this shed since it was first released in 2007. While the original shed had only three ridge beams to support the roof, the new Model A01B37C03 sheds now include 5 beams, PLUS an additional header support tube for the rear header. Suncast claims that the roof can now support 15 pounds per square foot, i.e. pretty heavy snowfall. This improvement is significant, and makes a product that was already very good exceptional.

It took only 11 days from the time I ordered from Amazon until the product was delivered to me in the Washington DC metropolitan area. The product is drop-shipped from Suncast in Illinois via freight shipper in my case CEVA who called me the morning the shed arrived in their Baltimore facility and delivered it the same morning. There are four large boxes two of them are perhaps manageable by one person dragging them to the back yard, and the other two are not. The heaviest, with the beams, must be unpacked to be relocated. The CEVA driver was kind enough to help me get the three lighter boxes around back and off of the driveway. The fourth took me about 30 minutes to unpack and repack in the back yard.

I built the wood platform specified in the Suncast manual and used 30 Dek-Blocks (highly recommended) with exterior grade pressure treated 2x6s and 3/4" plywood. Because I was building on a pretty substantial slope, the shed platform took me a full weekend to build and several hundred dollars worth of materials. It is, however, rock solid and level which is critical to the subsequent shed construction. The manual specifies a platform of 10'3" by 12'10", which is what I built. However, the actual shed footprint is only 10' ½" x 12'5 ½', so there will be a bit of platform underhang if built to Suncast specs.

I took a day off from work to build the shed by myself, which certainly can be done. I first unpacked and checked all of the pieces and was extremely annoyed to find that the 4 Male Corner Posts (Part H) and the one Right Hinge Post (Part L) were missing!! However, upon closer inspection, I was relieved to find that the Corner Posts had been snapped together for shipping to the four Female Corner Posts (Part G) and the Right Hinge Post to the Left Hinge Post (Part P). So, if you find that parts seem to be missing, check to ensure that they are not temporarily attached to other pieces! Note that these pieces are only temporarily snapped to the others for shipping, and must be separated and then reinstalled (in the case of the Corner Posts). Once I verified that all parts were present, installation could proceed. As it turned out, Suncast packs EXACTLY what you need in hardware too no more, no less so don't drop any hardware on the ground and lose it.

A few installation observations for those who are interested:

The 42 total Pan Head Screws specified as being used for connecting the floors pieces are accounted for INCLUDING the 4 floor to front/back connecters, NOT the 10 floor pieces alone.

There are no snaps on the roof panels for the U beam connectors on the 2 extra beams now included with the kits. The panels just sit over the connectors, which support them from below.

Make sure you follow the steps for roof panel installation, i.e. second side starts where first side ends NOT back at the rear again.

As others have indicated, the Cupola should be installed BEFORE the last two roof panels are installed.

The roof panels can definitely be installed by one person, because I did it. I wouldn't say it was easy, as there is a certain amount of finessing that might be easier with two persons but maybe not. In any case, they eventually went in and the shed doesn't leak. Make sure the adjoining roof panels snap together you'll need to exert pretty good pressure from underneath with your fingers.

The shutters CANNOT be done by one person even two is a challenge as the 4 screw holes must be lined up perfectly. We used an awl to guide the first shutter screw hole back directly over the corresponding screw hole in the side panel, and then tightened things down from there.

The doors have a nice little feature when they are swung back to the full open position, there is a détente that will engage and keep them from swinging back closed on you. Very nice attention to detail.

My next step will be to hang some 1x4s on the side panels so that I can install hooks, etc. for tools. Since the walls are resin, you obviously cannot put nails directly into the shed walls. Suncast sells metal pieces that snap into the side support rails, but they are costly and I'd need A LOT of them. I suspect that large zip ties threaded vertically through adjacent side support rail holes and then around the 1x4 will be sufficient for this purpose.

Overall I am extremely impressed with the quality of, and value for, this shed. This was certainly my largest Amazon purchase both in terms of size and expense and it couldn't have gone smoother. Highly recommended!!

I'm beginning to think given the 2 positive reviews, that I must have received a defective product. All structural pieces are fiimsy unfinished single layer, the thickness of an inexpensive plastic storage bin. I own several rubbermaid small sheds and each piece is finished so you can hang hooks or shelves, NOT this item. I doubt it will stand up any strong winds and really doubt it could withstand a snowfall. Yes, I have a $1k worth of buyer's remorse and am trying to assist you in not making the same purchase error.

Wow. Its hard to believe that Amazon ships this shed for free. It arrived on a large pallet in 4 big boxes. When I saw the manual I was a little afraid of the amount of time it would take to put it together however It was extremely easy. Infact almost all the pieces snap together and I would estimate it took me 5 hours from the time I started. That includes carrying all the boxes to the back yard & unpacking. I read some other reviews about the sturdyness of the shed but once again I was impressed! I could have bought a 8 x 8 stick built kit at my local hardware store for approx $499 but by the time you buy the extra plywood for the floor, the shingles and tarpaper, and all of the screws and nails PLUS the time building it all I decided this was the way to go and I still think that way after buying it.

This product is well engineered and very sturdy. It took me about 30 minutes to unpack and assemble my shelving unit, most of which I spent counting the rings on the legs to make sure my shelves were level (it would be nice if the rings were numbered). The legs have leveling feet at the bottom, so leveling the shelf on uneven flooring is a snap. I would highly recommend this unit to someone looking for a professional looking, heavy duty shelf.

Plastic shelves are just not the same as these metal shelves, and this shelf is adjustable so it can be installed and leveled. Snap on a couple of supports and slide the next shelf down to install it. It took all of about 5 minutes to put it all together.

These are great for many storage needs. Very strong and sturdy, easy to put together and take apart again if you move. I'm not sure what that one reviewer's problem was with assembly instructions, or lack thereof. It's pretty straight-forward: put the plastic shims on at the level you want the shelf, then put the shelf on. By looking at the shims, you can see which way they are beveled, and thus, which way they go on. You can figure it out. I believe in you.

Includes screw-on feet that allow you to adjust the height of each leg independently so that it's perfectly level, even on an uneven floor.

I think the black looks a lot nicer than chrome. It looks good enough that as someone on a tight budget, I don't mind using them in a bedroom or kitchen, whereas the chrome I would only want in a garage. But that's just a matter of taste.

Atlantic Solo Flexible TV Stand or A/V Tower (Wild Lime)

Now, as I'm a recent graduate and don't have a lot of money, I don't buy new piece of furniture often. So I was pretty excited when I splurged a little and got myself this media stand. I have a bunch of game systems and I figured this stand would be good for displaying them.

One problem is that because the green color is a veneer, during shipping it got bumped around a bit and the veneer peeled and chipped around the corners of the boards slightly. Luckily it was nothing hugely noticeable, but still pretty annoying when you're dropping $140 one a product.

Unfortunately, poor construction has rendered one of the glass shelves useless to me. One of the screw holes is actually too big for the screw, so I can't install one of the small pieces that is meant to support the glass. And this wasn't the only construction problem.

Many of the screws did not fit the pieces of the wood properly, or simply did not screw in all the way. An hour of extra work was required to get all of the pieces secure enough that I felt comfortable putting any weight on it.

I'm kind of disappointed, because if all of the pieces fit together properly this would be an awesome piece of furniture. Now that it's basically fully constructed I can't even send it back, because the hardware is so ill-fitting that it can't be taken apart. I'm probably going to just try to superglue the last support into place, and hope the other three take enough weight that it doesn't come unglued.

It looks great as a media tower in my living room. It's very sturdy, solid, and feels like it can hold a lot of weight.

I have an issue here, though. When it arrived, I put most of it together only to realize that crucial mollies were missing in order to install the glass shelves. So I have an audio tower without any glass shelves. Maybe it was poorly constructed at the factory?

Also, I was expecting some semblance of fake wood grain, but it's solid paint with no trace of wood grain, not even a fake laminate grain. It's ok, but I would have preferred a wood grain look.

I really like the way this thing looks and how sturdy it is. I didn't even mount it to the wall, and it holds up fine. (I don't have children, just a dog.)

That said, I almost pitched the pieces out the window before I ever got the unit assembled. The assembly isn't HARD. It's just awkward for one person to do alone.

See, you have to put the crossbar pieces into an X shape, and they just nestle together. They don't anchor. That's great because you need the flexibility to find the pre-drilled holes. But it's not so cool when you're trying to align the shelves perpendicular to said crossbar by yourself. After many attempts over two days, I ended up using my couch, some books, whatever I could find to stabilize the shelves. Then I attached the crossbar, carefully flipped the piece over and repeated the process.

I am a fairly handy person, so if you aren't good with a wrench or a screwdriver I recommend you buy a pizza and invite at least two handy friends to help.

this was exactly what was advertised. it was easy to assemble, looks great, and is really solid! I anticipate using it for years to come.

I purchased this item for our living room. It came within a week of ordering. I assembled it myself, but I would recommend two people put it together. It was very easy, just awkward. And if you aren't careful you could break it, which would be sad. It's a very nice and elegant looking piece and I love the spaciousness about it. My decorations and picture frames look great on it and since it is open, I can run the electric cable for my melt warmer through the back with it being complicated. There is a 20 pd weight limit for each shelf, just fyi. I love it and would buy it again, if I had the room.

This is a typical wired shelf you might find in a restaurant kitchen. The assembly was intuitive enough to make up for the lackluster instructions. It took about 20 minutes to put together. Highly recommended and works as advertised. It's not a cheap, lightweight shelf that will bend with ease. I also found out from the manufacturer's website that it is coated with the antimicrobial Microban material. I didn't know that until after I bought it. (They edited out the link)

Not much to say.. materials are solid and heavy enough to reassure you of that. Looks very nice when put together. Can be assembled pretty quickly, unless you're meticulous and slow like me because you don't want to make any mistakes (if you mess up and have to undo and redo something, it'll never be as solid and tight again!). Moving as slow as I did, I still managed to install the middle shelf upside down without noticing until I was finished. Assembly itself isn't hard at all and will go as quickly as you're willing to make it. Directions are very good, only need basic tools (hammer, screwdriver). Packaged VERY well, with extra cardboard padding around the four corners and wrapped like CRAZY with clear packaging tape. Arrived in perfect condition, even with the exterior of the cardboard looking a bit roughed up. Got this along with the matching TV stand and they look great together.

Plano Molding 904 Four-Shelf Utility Shelving, Dark Gray

Extremely easy to assemble. Lightweight, so easy to move. Looks pretty good. Fairly sturdy, though not quite as heavy duty as I had imagined it would be. I wouldn't use it for a bunch of heavy stuff (heavy metal tools, bags of soil, gallons of paint). It's more of a medium duty shelf.

These shelves are great! An old woman can put them together, move them without groaning and they store an amazing amount of special memories in my damp basment. I have no more worries of rusting and am thrilled with this product. I am ordering more.

I bought these shelves to hold mid-size server computers. The servers did not exceed the maximum weight capacity, nor did it come close to it. However, the shelves began to bend quite a bit when I placed the computers on it. The weight of one of the computers is about 18 pounds. After moving my equipment around, I ended up placing my servers on the bottom shelf, and the more light weight items on the higher shelves.

Also, the color of the shelves is actually lighter than the picture in the description.

-shelf can easily tip over if the weight isn't distribute evenly

These are great, but the measurements are not accurate! I bought them because I had a cupboard only 10-1/4 inch across, but these were closer to 10-1/2 inch in diameter and had to be sanded down in order to fit. Otherwise, I really like them.

Good quality, a teeny bit overpriced, but then I am still living ing the past. Fits right into our eclectic kitchen.

No complaints on this. We put it on a kitchen island and it helps maximize space. The rollers for rotating are not very smooth, but we don't use that so I can't say if it really matters or not. But it looks good and after about 6 months seems very durable.

A couple of issues with this. Bought two and I'm glad because they appear to have poor quality control on matching shades of wood. In one the top was real light and the bottom dark. The reverse on the other one. Not a huge problem, just flipped them. It would have been a problem if only one. The legs also did not match. Flipped them again and got better results. The legs don't seem to have a "finish" on them. One of the tops has a whiteish stain on top but they are going in the cabinet so doesn't make much of a difference to me. The turntable is not very smooth rolling kind of sticks. Not going to be turning it all day so again, not a huge big deal. If you plan on displaying this on your counter top you might want a better quality product but I'm storing these in the cabinet so it doesn't make that much of a difference to me. The product seems just average.

Want Lipper International Bamboo 2-Tier 10-Inch Turntable Discount?

Like another reviewer said this is wider than 10". And because the base was installed off-center it scrapes against the wall of my 11"-wide cabinet every time it goes around. The dowels that came with it have flimsy ends that break instead of firmly holding in the tray's holes. For the money I expected this to be higher quality but really it's pretty cheap quality. I bought two and I'm considering returning the unopened one.
