I purchased two units for the cabinet that is above our refrigerator. The cabinet was very deep and hard to organize and maximize the space inside. These work great for this purpose. These are heavy duty, and well constructed. I bought something similar at a home store with only one sliding shelf for the same price as this unit with two shelves. I would buy this again for sure.

The only problem we've had with this cabinet (we bought two) was trying to squeeze too much into it, as its strength implied infinite capacity! Aside from that, I highly recommend this as a way of making larger kitchen cabinets much more user-friendly.

Good construction and I wish I could use it properly and secure it to the cabinet but in my rented apartment we are not permitted to do so. Way Basics Eco Modular 3-Shelf Tribeca Bookcase and Storage

This shelving unit is made out of layered paper, similar to cardboard (but obviously way stronger). I wrote this rather lengthy review to give people an idea of what to expect, as well as to dismiss some of the "myths" from some other reviews.

Pros:

Very strong. This unit holds a full row of college textbooks and does not bow, as long as you keep the inserts in the middle. If you take out those inserts, you will notice some slight bowing. I have had my unit with the inserts in for a little over a year now and the panels have not bowed or deteriorated under stress in any way. So you can be pretty sure that these panels are quite strong. Stronger than particle board? Well, the only way you could probably find out is to take a sledgehammer to it. But the panels that are used on this thing are twice as thick as conventional particle board shelving, and I have other shelves where the particle board panels have bowed under similar weights. So this unit is actually a lot stronger than most conventional wood units.

Relatively easy to put together. Yes, if you are not careful, you can screw it up. But you do get a couple of tries if you are careful when taking them apart after making a mistake. I don't see a lot of complaints about people messing up the assembly though; in fact, quite the contrary. I am a fairly precise person, so it was no sweat for me.

Light weight. The description says that it's about 60% the weight of particle board. It feels even less than that. One of the reasons why I bought this was because I am not very strong, and I knew that I might have to carry this thing fully assembled up and down multiple flights of stairs when I bought a new home. I just moved into my new house last month and it was such a breeze because the thing is so light. I can lift the entire unit with one arm and not break a sweat.

Cons:

Surface damage. In particular, the corners are most susceptible to damage. This should be pretty obvious to most people since it is made of paper, but since the surface layer does not wrap around the corners it is possible for them to be scuffed up when hit. This should not be a problem with most people, and wasn't a problem for me either until the moving company people hauled it up the stairs and banged it up a little. Also, if someone is not careful with the vacuum cleaner, they could hit it and scratch it a little. On the other hand, I should say that it is easy to touch up so that you would not notice it. If the outer layer gets messed up a little and the inner white paper is exposed, you can use a dark marker on it (black or espresso colored units). You may not even notice with the white and beige colors. The flat surfaces (not corners) tend to resist damage fairly well. I don't go trying to intentionally scratch the surface, but I have put ceramics on them and they seem pretty durable. All of the flat surfaces on my unit are still pristine.

So basically this is a very light, very strong unit with some minor surface issues that stem from its paper construction. Overall I would recommend this item, as long as your family members are not inclined to abusing your furniture.

Finally, I see some people who claim that this unit collapsed within 24 hours. Honestly, I simply do not see how that is possible UNLESS the person did not put it together properly. If you follow all of the instructions (longer pieces rest on top of shorter pieces, backboard attached to back), I can't imagine how it is possible for this unit to collapse on its own. I have had about 50lbs worth of books on this thing (not counting the bottom shelf) 24 hours a day for over a year, and the thing is still just as sturdy as ever after surviving the moving company hauling it down three flights of stairs and up one. So as to people who are worried about "collapse", I can tell you that this thing is pretty safe. I mea, I guess it's possible that some people received defective units, but these are probably rare cases. Both my units (this one and a smaller one) have survived the move and show no signs of deterioration at all.

It's pretty flimsy, you are literally sticky pasting the pieces together. I use it for DVDs. Initially I had cookbooks on it but the boards were sagging under the weight. If you are looking for something high quality/sturdy this is definitely not for you.

This bookcase sounds good and looks good but in reality it was terrible and didn't last 24 hours the first time around. We followed the easy instructions to the letter but after waiting the proper time to set and actually placed items on it, it collapsed and broke within 24 hours. Amazon replaced it only for it to collapse again within 48 hours spooking my son in the middle of the night.

I have to add my kudos along with the other posters to Way Basics for making a product that is easy to put together AND flexible in design. In this set you are given four horizonal-use boards and nine vertical support boards. Yes, you can quickly put it together the way they suggest, but you can also, say, inset the vertical supports four inches or so in on the top and bottom level and come up with a different look! My one suggestion, though, if you are going to play around with the lay out: set everything out on the floor as if the unit was laying flat on its 'back' (the boards are thick enough to 'stand' on their narrow width) to make sure a)you like the pattern you are planning and b)you have all the pieces for the pattern you are planning. Because once you've pulled back the covering for the adhesive and 'stuck' it, you're pretty much set with where it is. (fortunately not a problem I ran into, although I was working to make two non standard units out of four sets).

I'd also strongly suggest putting it together in the room you are going to use it unless you have the space to leave it where you've built it for 24 hours to set (heavy books on top apparently help this).

All in all a great product, I'd give it a five but there were some dings and slightly warped/crumpled edges (inside a pristine box) which were only noticeable when you're right on top of the piece, which of course you are when you set it up.

Off to order another unit for my son's room. Love this product!

added 11/09: You've GOT to use the backer board or your unit isn't going to be stable. I sent a picture of my 'design' to way basics and they shot me an email back letting me know how very important this is! And you really need to make sure you put weight on the top when you're done and let it 'set overnight' for the glue to 'take'.

Enitial Lab August 4-Shelf Shoe Cabinet, Walnut and Black

For a $100 one can't expect to buy a great piece of furniture. And this isn't one. It's acceptable. However, one of the parts (part "H") came predrilled with 4 holes, all of which should have been the same diameter. They weren't. The wooden pins that connect the top shelf and the back wouldn't fit because those two holes were too small. You can enlarge them if you have a drill, but keep in mind that this isn't solid wood.

The instructions aren't clear which holes should be used when installing drawers, so you're left to guess which one out of 3 is the right one. I started at the wrong end and ended up doing it three times.

Handles are made of very, very cheap and flimsy plastic.

***NOTE***: One thing everyone buying Enitial Lab furniture (I own 3 pieces of their furniture) should know is that their instructions are almost worthless. You will need them, though, but boy will they frustrate you....

The print is great. Unfortunately it gives off quite a smell, I'm guessing its the adhesive. I put it in my baby's dresser and have had to keep the drawers open so that it airs out a bit. This paper was very easy to line a shelf in my closet. The design is cute and was pretty easy to match up different sheets. Also I used only one roll to cover the top and bottom side of about 3 foot wide shelf. Nice product and I will likely order more for other areas of my home.

After a month of using this shelf liner in several areas of my house, my opinion is mixed. The liner is very cute; you can't find better patterns anywhere else. I love seeing these fun patterns all over my house. However, it's not very sturdy. I would not recommend it for shelves that get a lot of use.

It is holding up very well in my bathroom drawers and under the sink area. I keep small, light things in these areas. It's also doing well on the shelves in my linen closet. In the kitchen, it is not doing well. The edges are peeling up in many places. The liner on shelves that hold my baking pans have several gouges already and I am very careful pulling the pans in and out. There is also gouging on the shelf where I keep my containers of flour, sugar, and such. Anywhere where the edge of the paper meets the exposed edge of a shelf, this stuff is going to peel a little. But it's great for drawers and anywhere that you can wrap the liner down around the edge of a shelf.

This lining looks cute but smelled so toxic I would not use it for drawers with food, dishes, or clothes. Even after days of letting it off-gas, it still smelled.

While this is built solid, I was a little disappointed with it. In part, I made a mistake of forgetting to check the depth of it, compared to my components. Of the three components I have, two did not fit and I could not close the doors. If it were just an inch deeper, it probably would be fine. So, I am using it without the doors.

The other thing that bothers me is that I had the doors on for about 10 minutes, opened and closed them no more than 10 times and they started to scrape the inside edges of the cabinet where they attached. It could be that I didn't install them correctly (and the instructions aren't clear on the positioning of the hardware which could go a 1/4 inch in either direction). However, the scraping caused the veneer to rip, almost as if it were paper. Due to the positioning of the rips, it is barely noticeable, but I worry what this piece will look like in a couple of years with my two small kids running around the house.

All that said, it feels solid, was easy to put together and looks really nice, even without the front doors.

We ordered this product back at the end of April, and we still have not resolved our problems. It is now almost July. Our first cabinet was defective, the top of the unit was so bowed it looked like a giant brown banana (not kidding). We ordered a replacement from amazon, who were fantastic as usual. We maybe thought we had just been unlucky with the first order, not so. When the second unit arrived it was even worse than the first. This is when we decided to call the company directly. They were pretty helpful, requiring us to take a picture of said defective item. When they received the picture they sent out a replacement. Took about a week for the whole process. Guess what folks.... yes this one was also bowed. Now my husband and I are really ticked, especially him as he spent two hours putting the original unit together only to find the issue afterward. Again we called amazon to order another unit. We didn't want to and amazon were very reluctant to send another out. So we are still without a TV stand, but really don't want to have to put another unit together. We will see how this one is, should be receiving it tomorrow. Will update review when we get it. Until then I would really not recommend buying this item to anyone. Unless you want a massive headache, and a wonky TV stand.

It takes time and patience, but is more than worth the price. If your components are deeper than the unit, as ours were, it's easy to modify the rear piece to accommodate the doors, and the doors are better than one would expect. Beveled, tempered glass. They're really gorgeous and worth the modification. I'm so grateful to Amazon for their Prime option. We received the table in less than 24 hours after ordering! This piece of furniture was so well packaged and labeled that anyone can put it together.

Ordered on the 1st and had it on the 5th. Excellent price. The TV stand itself is very nice. Good fit. Have the right tools and it takes about 50 minutes to assemble. Very easy. Now I do have some experience, but even still, I am over 60. Color was virtually perfect with the rest of the living room. Lots of storage for DVDs; the cable box and the DVD player fit quite well and the doors hung easily.

All in all, an excellent choice for the money.

The "expandable" portion of this product make it weak and droopy on the sides. There is little to no support for items on the sides. I decided to purchase this despite the complaints about hardware issues. In fact I bought two...big mistake. This arrived about two hours ago and I was excited to get them installed. The instructions seem to have been written by a non-English speaker, but the install was easy. After I installed them and started loading the racks up, I realized the ends were unsupported and drooped. Debating taking them out and sending them back.

Only one small caveat in my otherwise favorable review. In spite of my contacting the seller beforehand to be certain all shelves had enough clearance (7 3/4") to accommodate a standard DVD case, it turns out that, contrary to their claim, the top shelf has only 7" of clearence when the mantel top is added. I had to make a small modification by replacing the supplied dowel connectors with longer ones. Not a big deal, but nevertheless an irritation.

Otherwise, the unit is quite satisfactory sturdy, attractive, and a snap to assemble. Delivery was very prompt only three business days.

I ordered the mantel that was to fit my shelves and the company sent the wrong size. I called the company about it and they would not pay for shipping it back or ship the right size to me. So I am just stuck with it. They said it was my fault I got the wrong size. I will never be using Home Decorators Collection ever again.

This mounted shelving unit was exactly what we were looking for after searching local stores and the internet. We hung our flat screen television on the wall and needed to connect our stereo receiver, cd player, dvr and blue ray. We did not want to purchase a large piece of funiture to house all of these components. We ordered this wall unit and received it within a week. This unit was very easy to install, includes a cover to hide the wires and shelves are very sturdy to hold all the weight of our components. I would highly recommend this mounted shelving unit. Wouldn't recommend hanging this in the reach of small children.

This product came in a timely manner. The packaging was injured a bit but all was well with the product inside the box. When mounting this unit, I recommend attaching it to a wall stud as the shelves are much heavier than expected. However heavy, it has the feeling of quality and looks neat and clean underneath my wall mounted flat screen. It also freed up alot of space. I read every review for this product and similar products and found this to have the best review track record, but needless to say, I still had problems. The product arrived promptly with no damage. It was very easy to put together and mount to the wall. The depth of the shelves was adequate and the support frame was very sturdy. The wire channel was more then adequate for the cables I needed to run. Now the disappointing part! The glass shelves look awesome, but each shelve is glued to it's individual support frames. The glue gave way within minutes of mounting and setting my stereo and associated equipment on each glass shelf. I was nowhere near the weight limit of the shelves. After using a razor and alcohol to clean each of the gluing surfaces and purchasing "Gorilla Glue" and applying the glue to the cleaned surfaces, I was able to keep this from happening again. I shouldn't have to FIX products I purchase especially for the over price of this product. In any case, all is well and it looks great, after I glued the glass shelves back to the support brackets. It's a shame the manufacturer can't invest in a better adhesive for such an important part of the unit. I'm just glad I didn't have a heavy flat screen on the glass shelve when it decided to give way. Best advice; purchase Gorilla Glue, rubbing alcohol and a razor blade if you plan to purchase this product. Good Luck!

I liked the design of the product in that I was abale to put an XBOX, PS3,Wii and a phone all on the top shelf, cable box and wireless router on the second and modem and tivo on the bottom shelf and it seems to hold them up ok (I actually wall mounted my flat panel above the rack so it all looks like one unit). My issue is that the shelves com with metal cylinders glued to the glass shelves which have screw holes in them and are used for attaching them to the supports. One of the cylinders on my top shelf came off. I left voice mails and emails with the company based in the US and got ZERO RESPONSE. So if your package shows up missing a screw I guess your on your own.

I purchased this solely on the price and size dimensions. I was pleasantly surprised that the actual color is a darker grey or gun metal look. I attached a picture above.

Once I attached the rubber feet, the rack didn't sit completely flat, but I was able to gently twist the piece a bit and it sits fine now. Seems like it will hold up well.

This looks great and works perfectly on top of my kitchen cabinets. The metal (flat) legs are not are thick / sturdy as i would have liked. But the price is OK. It adds up if you start stacking them. I bought two to stack up and they interlock nicely. The tips of the legs have rubber feet that keep it from sliding around. Although the rubber feet make it more difficult to attach one on-top the other when stacking. Just need to push it into the slit of the rack below. It doesn't snap but the weight of the bottles / gravity keeps it firmly down / in place. I might get a third to put on top of the two. I think the product has a stack limit in the description. it seems that three should work but probably not four unless it is secured to the wall or something.

Enclume WB-8-HS 8-Inch Wall Bracket, Hammered Steel, Set of 2

We had to return this item when it turned out the bracket was actually 9" deep instead of the description that says 8" (it did not fit in the space in our kitchen). It's quite a hefty pair of brackets and no complaints about build quality here. It just didn't work for us because the product description was off.

Seville Classics 168-Bottle 7-Shelf Wine Rack

I'm just starting my cellar and I've only owned this wine rack for two months but I couldn't be happier. The full capacity requires stacking 3-high, but I bought 3 additional shelves from the manufacturer to reduce space between shelves and stack less high. With the 10 shelves total, I can fit 90 bottles without stacking, but I like to stack two-high for wines I have multiples of. The ten shelves, if stacked two high now give me (9 + 8) x 10 = 170 bottle capacity, and even more (177 total) since I can squeeze a three-high stack on my bottom shelf.

Unless you're much taller than me (at 5'9") don't plan on browsing wines too easily on the top shelf. This is, however, a spot for stacking a couple of cases of your favorite cab (grab & go).

I was so pleased with the engineering of these units I purchased half a dozen shelving units from the same manufacturer. One of them will sit aside this rack for storing wooden cases.

As my cellar grows, I'll surely add another of these wine racks to the mix as well. I can't speak for the test of time, and how these will hold up against rust in a basement, but my though was that is would be reasonably hypo-alergenic, even if rust does develop.

I've had this wine rack for 3 months and love it, i don't have it filled to capacity but upon assembly, easily concluded that bottles can be stacked 3 tall per shelf, 1 row of 9 one row of 8 and 1 row of 7, total 24 per shelf, x 7 shelves = 168. Hopefully this cleared up the math for the previous reviewer. It also holds the really large bottles. I am very happy with it Extremely sturdy.

I've been looking for a reasonably priced wine rack for a couple months. I've tried some of the pine wooden racks but they tend to be too flimsy when loaded. I currently store approximately 100 bottles on this rack, and it works great.

Well made, solid, gives you the opportunity to use it as two short racks or one taller one. Comes with attachments to secure the rack to a wall if desired although probably not needed if placed on level surface. I like that fact you can adjust shelf height to accommodate more bottles on the bottom to better weight distribution. This rack will also handle odd sized bottles much better than racks with squares.

All in all a great price for a quality wine rack.

As someone whose books threaten to take over the house, I am always in need of new and inexpensive shelving. This bookcase more than filled the bill. Although it is just a basic three shelf bookcase, it is sturdy, attractively painted, and holds a good number of books and magazine, including the oversized versions.

I recently ordered three of these bookcases. The bookcases were not too difficult to put together and I did assemble them all by myself in about three hours. However, I do agree with a previous review that a second pair of hands would have been helpful. These bookcases are well made and they look great in my office. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Who ever gave this shelf a good review MUST work for the company or know someone who does. Honestly, I just bought several pieces of South Shore furniture and they are all so cheap and so bad, including this shelf, that I'm having a hard time writing a review without swearing.

Putting this shelf together was as complicated as simple shelf could be. Parts barely fit, it came together poorly, and it showed from the outside. I have bought and built so many pieces of furniture, expensive and bargain. I'd have to say so far, this shelf, and another piece from this company have been the worst I've ever made. Next time, I'll just go to Walmart. The quality would be better and the price would have been cheaper.

I've also recently bought items from Powell and Magnussen. They turned out intuitively planned, and of beautiful quality.

I really thought this would be a great BOOKCASE. However, less than three weeks after I (correctly) put this bookcase together and began using it the middle shelf fell out and dumped all my books onto the floor. Then, because the middle shelf collapsed as it was falling out it "upset" the bookcase so that the top shelf of books fell out too. I have to say I was incredibly surprised when I looked over the mess to find that BOTH shelves had "bowed" so severely that they will no longer will sit on the EXTREMELY FLIMSY clear plastic "shelf brackets". AND as I mentioned above; these EXTREMELY FLIMSY clear plastic "shelf brackets" do NOT fit into the little pre-drilled holes properly: they pulled down on the holes so that they no longer will fit and stay!!! I have never seen such a flimsy piece of "furniture". OH, and in case you wondered I had only 11 books on those shelves that bowed and then collapsed! This IS supposed to be a bookcase right???!!! I REALLY wish I could return this NOT at my expense AND get my money back. However, I am quite sure it is too late. Please just be warned: this "BOOKCASE" WILL NOT SUPPORT BOOKS!!! Even the upright sides of this so-called BOOKCASE are now slightly "bowed" outward...... BEWARE!!!!! I would NOT recommend this item at all!!!!

P.S. I gave this a ONE star rating because I could not proceed beyond this page without it!!! It really deserves NO stars!

A bookshelf has but one job: to hold books. This unit isn't doing very well with this task. I have books (both hardback and paperback), magazines, and picture frames in this unit. Two weeks after I placed these items in the unit, both of the adjustable shelves are bowing downward. It looks sad, struggling weakly to hold up its books and trinkets. It's the perfect size for the space I have, and besides the bowing shelves, it looks fine, so I'm not sure I'll replace it. I may go to the hardware store and see if I can replace the particle board shelves with real wood.

Other reviewers say this is a good product for its price, but I actually don't think this shelf is particularly inexpensive since it's practically useless as is. I paid only slightly more for an all-wood hanging shelf just a few weeks before I ordered this product. I should have gone with that company again, but I didn't because it took a long time to ship, and I wanted it as soon as possible. Poor choice on my part.

Buy this product if you want a shelf for light trinkets, but this is not a bookshelf.

Yube Cube Modular Furniture System Cube Polyglass Door

I own 20 of these. They are great with the doors for hiding the clutter in my office. Also the doors keep the dust off your stuff. The doors are clear plxiglass printed with a screen white pattern. You can see through the doors a little, semi opaque, so you can barely make out what is inside. They also sell plexiglass shelves for inside the cube.

Pretty easy to assemble, light weight. The outside panels are heavy off white paper and are clipped on and are removable. You could remove the panels, spray paint them any color or draw or paint on them, then reinstall if you were so inclined. They sell aluminum metal panels but they cost more than the cube.

The body is some kind of black plastic made from bamboo. The back panel is the same heavy board as the sides. You add little metal pins to holes in the top then stack another unit on top, pins locking the 2 together. The door hinges are heavy plastic, not sure how long they will hold up. Comes with clips to fasten units together horizontally, but I could not get them to stay on, definitely will not stay on if using doors, prevents doors from opening. I just used black 5/8" drywall screws horizontal to hold units together.

You can find these also at Brookstone or Brookstone on ebay. They were the cheapest when I bought.

I had just a few little parts missing on one order and one defective door. Yubecube customer service was great. I emailed them and they sent out replacements. Did not even ask for proof of purchase.

They are not cheap but there is nothing close out there as far as modular units. Unless you go with the fake wood cubes which are heavy and not as cool looking.
