It is cheaply made not as nice as the photo on Amazon, you definitely get what you paid for. My Island came with distorted parts with paint chips on the wood. Unless you are planning on putting it against a wall, I would not recommend to use as an Island since the back is horrible with screws & wood imperfections clearly visible. I actually had to cover the back with matching sheet metal to cover the imperfections of the wood and the screws. Keep in mind the dimension includes the length of the paper towel bar. Therefore, the actual work surface of the top is only 37 inches. I would not buy this Island again even at half the price what I paid for on Amazon. I never write reviews but I felt I had to share my unhappiness.

I thought this cart looked really nice, but when I got it and it took my brother hours to put it together it wasn't as nice as I thought it was. The stainlesss steel top had some dents in it and the top drawer need to be on gliders. The color is nice, but would not buy again.

Be warned this cart is the worst product I have bought to date. To begin with, color is a weird kinda solid plastic looking brown not actual Espresso wood grain color. Such poor construction I had to glue entire cart together with gorilla glue to add stability, and no parts fit correctly. One of the vital pieces was completely wrong and had to be modified to get it to work. I bought a small cart, from another company, also that is 10 times better in both construction, quality, and looks for about the same price. Apply your $200 to something nicer, because you will eventually give up and throw this away as it is just ugly and very cheap looking!!! I would have saved myself much time and heartache if I would have just set the money on fire!!! If a picture tells a 1000 words then this picture is 1000 lies, because it doesnt come anywhere close to the photo in person!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, DO NOT BUY THIS CART PERIOD YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!!!!!!!!

It may just have been bad luck on our part, but this cart was a lemon. It arrived quickly from the vendor, but was scratched (possibly in transit). I had bought it for my daughter, who decided she could live with the scratch, but then found that it didn't fit together properly when she tried to assemble it. I will say that the company made good on it immediately, so there is no complaint about the customer service -just that the product was not a good investment.

It looks great and is fairly sturdy. My only con is that it doesn't come with screws for mounting, so you have to find your own. Otherwise it's a great piece!

My 86 year old mother has a huge collection of framed family photos and has never had a place to display more than a few at a time. SMom had the photos packed in boxes and if she was ever going to spend time with the subjects in the pictures, it had to be soon. I looked at many bookcases before deciding on this one. The shelves were larger than other bookcases in this price range and I liked the overall look. My husband put the bookcase together easily but said he had to be careful with the backing as it was a bit flimsy. That's to be expected since this is not a $2,000 bookcase. Once assembled, the bookcase is sturdy enough for our purposes (not sure about loading it with heavy books) and looks great. Really much nicer than I expected. My mother LOVED it and started pulling out storage boxes right away. She had all 5 shelves filled with photos in 1 day and was thrilled with the final result. All her picture frames look great on the black bookcase. Mom's recliner is directly across the room from the bookcase and she is thoroughly enjoying viewing the fruits of her labor. I highly recommend this bookcase for display purposes. I don't think you can get a better style for the price.

I bought this because we had a piece in this same series/exact style, only short, and I liked the way it looked and its sturdiness. We got this tall bookcase to put photos of the kids, etc. (my wife wanted something like it for Christmas), as we had nowhere to put those things. It seems like it could hold books as well. I think it said each shelf holds 30 pounds, although the very top might be 15 pounds. We put it at an angle in the corner. The look is simple, and does not seem "modern" necessarily, as the black color might suggest, fitting in not only with the existing piece, but with our simple-style wood furniture. The edges are sometimes reddish rather than black, and this is fully on purpose to create a subtly "distressed" look. You have to put it together, but I enjoyed the process, all in all. Rather ingeniously conceived, really. All the needed pieces and hardware were there. All you need is a Philips screwdriver, and to pay careful attention to the pictured, step-by-step directions and the corresponding lettered or numbered hardware and pieces to put it together without problem. I paid careful attention to each step and positioning and had no problems. I am not always happy with the furniture I can afford, and hate things that don't go together well or that are wobbly or fall apart. Our previous piece by the same people has been fine, and this one seems great as well. I did not even resent the fact that it was made in China (as virtually anything affordable seems to be these days, sadly) after noticing/admiring how well it is prepared to be put together by someone who like me, who is not really "handy." The screws and pegs have guide holes. The main screws have to be put in with a hand screwdriver. The exception were the small screws for the back (holes there do not go into the material below the back piece). I switched to an electric drill/screwdriver for those to avoid the exertion and fatigue that was, ironically, resulting from those. All in all, though, I recommend this without any significant reservation and with full satisfaction. It looks great and serves its purpose admirably. I like the x pattern in the sides. Very simple and elegant piece, that can, I think, look somewhat formal or somewhat informal, blending with its surroundings. That's all I can think to say, except that my wife and I are both glad we bought it. I would not hesitate. M. B.

Organize It All Glass Shelf with Chrome Towel Bar

Be careful when installing. The brackets need to be far enough apart to accomodate the glass shelf, but close enough to hold the towel bar securely. There's only about an 1/8" tolerance to meet both requirements. Also, picture doesn't show how far out the towel bar protrudes, which makes for a not so streamlined profile. If space is an issue, you might consider the other Neu Home Glass Shelves with towel bars that drop straight down from the shelf.

This shelf is very nicely made. The chrome is shiny and the glass shelf is fairly thick-not flimsy. The added towel bar is great in a small space. Great price.

Winsome Wood 4-Tier A-Frame Shelf, Espresso

My house was built in the 20s, so there is very limited closet space and the places you can put shelves are awkwardly small. I thought this sort of shelf would be perfect in my bathroom if only a couple of inches too wide to let the door open all the way. When the time came to buy one, I was astounded at the price of them! Amazon has a few that are cheaper, but they catch you with $30 shipping costs. This particular shelf is eligible for Prime which I love to use. I'd searched and searched for one of a comparable price, but hadn't found anything else that didn't gut me on shipping or wasn't entirely too large. So, I broke down and bought this shelf last week.

The shelf got here in record time (way to go UPS and Amazon!), and I really excited to get it put together and start organizing my new home. I pulled the shelf out of the box and it was remarkably dirty. I mean, every piece of this shelving unit was covered in saw dust and silty dirt. I pull out all the screws, the directions, and start dusting off all the pieces. The color is dark espresso supposedly, but I'd err on the side of caution and say that this is more black than anything else. In espresso, you can still see the brown. This is black until direct natural light hits it and then you can see the reddish undertones. Fortunately, this works in my bathroom, but for those of you looking for more brown than black, go elsewhere.

Anyhow, so I start checking out all the pieces. It is fairly self-explanatory on how to put the whole thing together, but I notice that the edges are very rough/sharp. The wood is fairly cheap and dry, so I can see how it may not hold up well in humidity or be the best bet for a child's bedroom. There are scratches on it straight out of the box that are noticable since the stain is so dark. So, to Lowe's I will go for a stain pen to fix the scratches.

There are a few positives to this particular shelf. Most of the holes on the shelf match up some better than others but for the most part the ease of putting it togeter is good. You will need a rubber mallet or a hammer to get the wooden pegs in the holes for the bottom shelf, but this isn't a big deal. All the pieces were included in the correct number, they include the necessary tool in case you don't have your own set of allen wrenches, and, while I had a little difficulty at the beginning, it was relatively easy to put together with only one person.

Frankly, I normally would have returned this piece, but I cannot wait for shelving in my home any longer and I've been searching for ages so I realize this is about as good as it's going to get for the price. I'd have let a lot more of this stuff slide if it had been a $40-$50 shelf instead of a $70 shelf. I expect a little more for $70. Would I order from this company again? No, given that their prices stay the same.

Well i read plenty of reviews that said this shelf came with problems and i thought "not me!" I'll get a good one! HA Ha Ha Ha!! From the start the packaging was partly open then came inspection. Part of one of the shelves was scratched pretty badly. Thought i'd just put the scratch toward the back (forgot and its in the front, shouldn't have been my problem). Putting it together was ridiculous! The screws were way to big for the holes and they didn't line up correctly. One of the shelves split, there is a piece that goes on the shelf that i thought was for the front to finish it off but it is the back but it was in NO way straight. I kept thinking, "why do i keep putting this together, why not send it back?" I wish i would have but i have come to believe this is what this company wants. They know its easier to just put it together than get it partly together, undo it, put it back in the box, take it to UPS and ship it back. There fore they do not care about the crappy work they do on their product. Sad really. I was so excited about the shelf. Next time i will go some where else.

Not good....I have bought several 'flat pack' items, many of far east country origin, this shelf unit is bar far the worst. Shipping boxes thin and will likely have damage on receipt (both of mine had severed taping and torn cardboard, which led to chipping of contents. But worst was very poor finishing of wood prior to stain being applied ,appears as though nothing was sanded or cleaned before finish was applied....rough to the touch and inconsistant color, would have been better just going to B*g L**s. Had to saw a piece in each box to fit (the strengthener under the bottom shelf). If boxes were intact enough I would return product. I would not put much weight on it as shelves only thin.

Too bad! Nice product for the money if you don't mind doing the job for the company you paid to deliver. The manufacturer seems not to have quality control. One of the shelves had no holes whatsoever. Four drilled holes in each shelf are essential in the assembly of this product. It was either take the time and expense to return the product, drill the holes myself, or use the faulty shelf and take a chance on the shelf eventually falling. My time is too valuable to do the job for a company I've paid for their product. In business as in life, you have one chance to make a first impression. My advice to the buyer, be prepared for frustration Winsome doesn't check components before shipping and leaves the quality control to the customer. Too bad for the customer!

I actually had to hire someone to fix the holes!! I ordered this towel rack, hoping it would hold plenty of towels for guests, so they don't have to go into the bathroom closet, where I keep all of my DOG supplies! It's perfect! I'm using it to hold three bath towels, three hand towels and three face towels. This stand is what I expected and more. It took me about an hour to put together, but everything fit like a glove. the package even came with a pen to cover any scratches (which i did'nt need). the stand is low to the ground placing my 46' LG flat screen at a perfect height. It has a lot of room in the cabinets. I placed my PS3 in the left-hand side cabinet, my Xbox in the right-hand cabinet, my receiver in the lower-middle shelf, my cable box right above that and my center speaker above that. all in all this is a great unit. highly advise it.

For over 2 months my wife and I looked EVERYWHERE to find the perfect unit to house our components since I just mounted the 40" LCD on the wall. We needed certain colors, height and width dimensions and also wanted to hide everything behind glass doors. This unit was PERFECT!

I had 2 concerns with this unit though.

1) My Harmony 880 Universal Remote (Buy one of these!!) wouldn't be able to penetrate the frosted glass.

2) Enclosing my components (most importantly the PS3 and receiver) behind doors would cause overheating.

I'm happy to report that none of my fears came true. The Harmony works through the frosted doors with ease.

I'm also happy to report that my components won't overheat. My last step in the building process was to attach the backing material to the unit. Before doing so I tried to wiggle the unit a little bit and it was rock solid. As a result I left the backing unit off so everything is open in the back.

If I was placing my TV on the stand then I probably would have installed the backing but since I don't have that weight I probably don't need the extra support.

I have nothing bad to say about this unit.

I just put this together by myself in about 2 hours. I know the guy that reviewed this before me says he did it in an hour but I'm the type that reads everything and checks every part. Either way, pretty simple construction yet once it's completed the stand is very sturdy. I even sat on it so it can withstand a rather heavy TV if needed to but I wouldn't suggest trying to put a larger CRT TV on it mostly cause of how deep they would be. The stand is moreso built for the new flat-panel TVs which mine will be supporting a 40" LCD HDTV. Oh, on a side note: those little round things you see at the bottom of the picture are just little plastic knobs, not rollers or metal feet. Just plastic. The silver supports on the top shelf where the TV sits are actual metal. Thought people might want to know that before ordering.

We purchased this stand on Amazon with a little trepidation, having had bad experiences with DIY assembly furniture in the past... especially items made in China. We were very very pleased however with this unit.

The materials used are high quality MDF, and every pre-drilled hole and plug was in exactly the right position. (No off-center or missing holes like many previous items we have assembled). The unit is made in Quebec, Canada, and the company is clearly dedicated to quality! The assembly manual was thorough and understandable. Every illustration in the manual showed each piece precisely as it should be oriented, with every pre-drilled hole shown in the illustration. This is critically important, because it eliminates the potential for assembling any piece the wrong way and having to start over.

Each piece is clearly marked with a code that is referenced in the manual, and the company ships the unit with a few extra small items like plastic dowels... "just in case"!

Assembly was straightforward and timed at exactly one hour... including downing two cups of coffee during assembly!

The description on the Amazon site shows this base as limited to a 40" TV, but we found our 47" Vizio (85lbs) fit without issue and looks great on the stand. (The manual indicates a maximum weight on the top shelf at 185lbs.)

As others here have mentioned, the smoked glass on the cabinet doors does NOT inhibit infrared remote use. We have a DirecTV satellite box in the cabinet, and the remote works perfectly through the door. (See the user picture I have posted on this page with notes)

I ordered the unit on 1 December with PRIME 2-day shipping (With the caveat that Amazon stated a 2-5 day processing time on the item's order page)

On 3 Dec, Amazon's Order Tracking indicated that the item had been shipped and that delivery was scheduled for 4 December

4th and 5th December passed without delivery, so I called FedEx to ask about the tracking number. They said they hadn't yet taken possession of the stand, only a pickup order.

I called South Shore's number in Canada to ask "what's up" and spoke to a VERY NICE lady who advised me that all their products get delayed by CUSTOMS at the border. Understandable BUT Amazon should clearly reflect this possible delay in shipping, and provide more accurate shipping data.

Stand finally arrived on 8th of December via FedEx. Not bad for the item, but caused some frustration due to Amazon's inaccurate tracking and delivery estimate.

In summary, this is a GREAT stand; easily assembled; functional and esthetically pleasing. And while Amazon dropped the ball a bit on shipping data, this unit is still HIGHLY recommended!!

Great kitchen island but be forewarned it takes FOREVER to put together. The pieces aren't labeled or numbered so you have to really spend a ton of time matching everything up. Took my boyfriend 6 hrs to do. It looks great now that it's finished but the drawer doesn't slide open easily. It doesn't have a metal track so you're pretty limited on how to make it slide open easier.

Hardwood Corner Wall Units (Ebony)

I originally bought this to go into a corner area in a small hallway. It was to replace a tall thin, cheaper media storage tower I had. When I got this and put it together, by myself, it went together pretty quick. I just needed a phillips screw driver and a small hammer. The directions suggest two people to put it together, but if you are alone, it can be done pretty easily.

Once together it was too big for that area, it fit, but it is really a beefy, substantial tower, if you know what I mean. So it really looked ridiculous in such a small hallway. So I had to put it in the parlor. Another feature I like is, unlike with the small tower, I can rest things on the top, see picture. So that is nice, it gives another place to add decor. I feel the tower is pretty expensive, but the wood is really nice, pretty heavy too, comes in two boxes, one for the side and back panels, and the other box for the shelves and the top and bottom piece. The back panels are made out of some kind of maybe partical board, or pressed wood or something, not the cheap painted cardboard type. There is a slight visible seam in the middle of the panels, but once it's filled up, it is barely noticable. Also know, that since this is a corner piece, there is a substantial void in the back of this unit, but I guess one could use that space to hide extra long cords, etc., for media equipment.

I can also see this being able to be moved if needed and one not having to worry about it falling apart or becoming weak over time. I am glad I purchased it.

This rack, for lack of a better word, is not pearl nickel, but grey. The parts are not much larger than 1/2 inch in diameter. When I opened the package I thought a mistake had been made on the box picture, but when I opened it, the picture shows exactly what you are going to get. The workmanship is poor, to say the least. The holes that have been drilled into the posts do not entirely match up on all the pieces, and in some cases the metal tag from the drilling is still inside the post so that you can not put the other posts into the end to screw it together. The only way you could do this is punch out the metal tag inside the post. Also, not all of the holes were drilled correctly, so that not all post pieces will match up. Only put one star because I had to.

For $18 it's a pretty good buy. It really isn't too sturdy, but I didn't need to mount it on the wall with the stuff I put on it. I'm pretty confident that it won't topple over. It just wobbles a little when I put stuff on the shelf. I don't put heavy stuff on the shelves anyway. Besides, I don't think you can put heavy items in the middle of the shelves because it will start to bend down a little. It fits our small bathroom just fine and does it's job. No complaints here.

We desperately needed something functional but inexpensive we could use to get some shelf space in one of the bathrooms of a place we were renting, and this was perfect. It's reasonably attractive, pretty easy to put together (the instructions are helpful), it's open (which is good, since it partially blocks a window), and, secured to the wall, is perfectly sturdy for the intended use. It's got a nice finish that seems like it should hold up for a long time, even in South Carolina humidity. We saw similar products at Lowe's, but for much more money. Very pleased.

There are 3 shelves in the middle area, and the middle shelf has a big wide open back for all the cables to fit through. Also the corner cabinets have holes between them and the middle cabinets, in case you need to connect components to each other. Very well designed.

I just purchased the Muscle Rack "2300 Series" which appears to be much the same as this model. Don't waste your time. It is humanly impossible to assemble this unit. Literally every. Single. Place. that a tab is supposed to fit into a slot, the tab is too big. You end up trying to tap it in with a hammer, and in the process end up bending the metal pieces all out of shape, making matters worse. At one point I dropped the hammer I was using for this onto one of the lower shelves I had gotten somewhat together, and it punched a hole right through the particle board, which appears to be about one grade above cardboard. Save yourself hours of aggravation by buying literally anything else, including a gun to shoot yourself in the foot with, as even that would still yield more utility and enjoyment than this shelving unit.

I bought this product from Home Depot three years ago. Within a month, the particle board shelves were sagging (with barely any weight applied!!). The only thing it holds now are cleaning supplies and extra linen.

I actually bought this product from Lowes during their black friday sale. It cost me roughly $45 for the shelving unit. It is said to hold 800 pounds per shelf. I thought it would save me some money rather then building my own. Boy was I wrong. Within a month the shelves were sagging with maybe 30 pounds of weight on them. The shelf that had about six 1 gallon paint cans half full looked like it was going to break. I am having to replace the particle board shelves they add.

They either need better quality shelves that can hold the weight or add a center beam to keep the shelf from warping. I would stay away from this product.

I bought one of these racks and had it set up in about 15 minutes. Yes, the parts fit tight, but that better than a sloppy fit that wobbles later. The pins went in part way and I pushed them down the rest of the slot, gently with my foot. When done they look great. No tools needed, but you may want to use a rubber hammer or board to seat in the crosspieces properly.

I have 4 of these units now and plan to pickup more. I have found them quite simple to put together with nothing more than an old metal pipe wrench to bang the pieces into place (probably should have used a proper mallet!). Some of the particle board shelves were tight and I had to swap them around here and there to make them fit but nothing extreme. The only thing I can think to mention is the nice depth on these. Seems a lot of shelving units I looked at were somewhat shallow.

I would have given it a fourth star, if it was not shipped late. Other than this, the item was well packaged and with a good manual for assembly. It took me about 25 min(s) to assemble it, because it is a little heavy and I needed my wife's help to move it around. It looked great after the assembly, exactly like in the picture. I would recommend buying it, but only if you have time to wait.
