HyLoft 80842-10 Ceiling Storage Kit

I bought 4 of these (2 sets) to store my obnoxiously large stock of scrap trim lumber.

Pros

Very sturdy design. Will easily support any amount of lumber I shove up there. Not as much wiggle, side to side\front to back as I've seen in similar products.

value Good price for as stout as these are.

Cons

The only place I would ding this product is the install guide. It tells you to attach the end pieces to the joists first and then assemble by connecting the remaining four pieces. Unless you are very precise with your meansurements, you'll be out or square (requiring you to twist the final assembly to join the pieces) and while the width is adjustable, the holes are 1" apart meaning you'll likely have to bend the unit a little to align the holes. Instead, I recommend attaching one end leaving the lag screws loose (about 1" protruding from the joist), assemble the unit, put the other end up to the joist, mark the holes, pre-drill and screw in.

I needed a storage solution for spare lumber that was leaning against the walls in my garage. This was it. I purchased two pair and plan to order a third. They're easy to install, very sturdy and the adjustable height and width make them a fit for almost any space. Thanks HyLoft! You've done it again.

Several pieces arrived with small amounts of rust. Easy enough to hang and put together. I don't think I'd buy it again.

This product is just what I need to suspend my three-piece kayak in my gargage for winter storage. I ordered four sets of them. The first one took a little to put together and installed on my gargage ceiling, but after that it is easy. I most difficult part in the installation is locating the joist and aligning the brackets correctly.

The product wasn't as sturdy as I had expected, all pieces went together ok, but when fully assembled it didn't feel very solid. I wouldn't put 200 lbs as advertised on it?

Pearl Mantels 412-60-50 Shenandoah Pine 60-Inch Fireplace Mantel Shelf, Rustic

At first I was very happy with this mantel. It gave us the exact look we wanted, until we stained it. I knew going in Pine does not accept stain great but there is so much wood filler and glue alll over this thing that you do not see when it is unfinished. Then when you rub the stain on there are huge areas that the stain won't stick to. Now I have no choice but to paint it:( Very disappointed.

This beautiful mantel shelf has totally transformed what I previously thought was an ugly fireplace. I almost didn't buy the house because of it. I was hesitant to buy a shelf online, but trusted Amazon, so I went ahead with the purchase. It is easy to install, only taking about 30 minutes once you decide where to hang it, and is very sturdy. The corbels that come with it put the finishing touches on it. My fireplace has now become the beautiful focal point of my living room! Everyone raves about it. The rustic oak I selected from Pearl Mantels was just what it needed for the transformation! I'm so happy.

I received my mantle in great condition. I opened the box and was in awe. I ordered the already stained rustic and for my application, it is amazing. I have to say for my application, if I were to have used only the shelf hanger it would have been very easy install. I chose to use the hanger and the corbels which I had to modify. I love the result though. The corbels in my opinion make the mantle come to life. Be advised it is NOT a solid block of wood. It is a hollow frame of thick pine. I can't be positive but I thought the description said"solid".

I would buy this again. Huge improvement from what the house had.

We love our new mantle! We got the unfinished one, then used American Walnut from Lowes and it looks amazing. It was very easy to stain and easy to install. It adds so much to our fireplace. We did not use the corbels since ours was going on above our slate surround and they line up flush with the back of the mantel and the tiles were about 1/4" thick.

Clean unfinished base, no additional sanding needed. Conditioned and stained very nicely the optional corbels is a great feature. Some of the "rustic" finishes look too forced and not natural but the effect is still wonderful

My husband and I purchased this dresser to use in our nursery. We searched high and low for changing table and/or dressers that could be used as a changing table and were disappointed with what we found. Most were cheaply made particleboard items, and we wanted something that could last and look great. This dresser didn't disappoint, especially at the sale price that it's now offered at. It did come in a million pieces, but everything was packaged well and there was no damage. My husband assembled the item in about 2 hours and it looks great! I especially love the detailing on the side of the dresser. It's a unique piece that we can use as the baby grows up. It would also be great for adults, though, as it is a sophisticated design.

Came in a lot of pieces but instructions were good. looks very nice with attractive details and a lot of storage for its size. Hardware good quality

This dresser is DECENT, but really not worth it. I wish I had instead bought a used dresser from an antique shop.

There are so many pieces to this dresser--takes forever to put together,

Also, the "wood" is very cheap.

I followed the instructions PERFECTLY, and the drawers do not line up at all. There are huge gaps in the whole thing. Ugh.

i purchased 2 of these chests; the first assembled fine, the second did not/ the frame of the chest was too large for the drawers and they would not seat on the brackets; lots of assembly; had to disasseble, rebox and return; a decent piece of furniture(the one that assembled correctly) for the price

The dresser turned out cute, but it required a LOT more assembly than I expected. Also, I was expecting a bright white but it's a little off-white, almost ivory, so it doesn't perfectly match my room. But it turned out cute enough to use it for what I purchased it for :)

My kitchen cabinets were built in 1947! The lower cabinets are deep and difficult to put things away having to get down on your hands and knees just to get to the pots and pans! Not anymore! I purchased 2 of the Lynk cabinet drawers, two widths, and were easy to install. They glide like soft butter on a hot toast. I have a teensy kitchen with one under-counter cabinet to store all my pots, pans and lids. They were a hopeless jumble for far too long, up until I purchased this product and another slide-out drawer for pan lids. They both went in easily enough -the biggest challenge was squirming myself into the cabinet to screw in the rear screws, but there was no getting around that. But now it's in, and my cabinet is so neat and orderly! They glide out and in, everything stacks so nicely. Total win!

Yu Shan 3 Shelf Folding Stackable Bookcase

This is a great deal! I went to the local import warehouse, Pier 1 Imports and looked at the similar unit that they sell; it's a piece of junk and grossly overpriced.

This is a HARDWOOD bookcase that comes neatly packaged and goes into place in about five minutes, depending on where you put the empty box.

Like every one of these I've had (way above five), it's wobbly until it has books in it and I really would not recommend stacking if it's placed on a deep-pile rug, as mine is.

Read descriptions carefully! There are several of these bookcases available that have particle-board shelves. These also usually have poor hardware and shoddy construction.

This product is a bargain at the price, particularly if you are a PRIME member and take advantage of free shipping.

Incidentally, if you are NOT a PRIME member and you buy a lot from Amazon, I encourage you to join; it will more than pay for itself in shipping costs.

We own thousands of books. We like stackable bookcases, and have acquired many over the years. Quality varies, but I've never seen worse quality than these. We bought 4 of these bookcases. The first 2 fell apart right out of the shipping box. We didn't open the last 2.

The bottom 2 shelves fell off. Critical screws were missing. The back supports splintered. The wood had extra holes, weakening it. We gently unpacked it. The package wasn't damaged. They obviously shipped junk.

Now, we're out $100 for shipping this garbage. I can only hope they refund it.

Seen these for years and finally bought one for an apartment office. Good quality construction. Arrived with one of the "spokes" on the side broken right at the point where it meets the shelf support (blame UPS), so was able to slip in back in place a little wood glue and it looks like new. The unit tends be a little wobbly, even after filling the shelves with books. Gluing it all together might be an option, if you have no need to fold it up again, which might stiffen the unit. Adding the top shelf might also help. I'd be reluctant to stack these at all unless I could put them on a hard, level surface and even then I'd probably screw the unit to the wall.

Buying furniture online can be a bit of a crapshoot in terms of quality, so I was VERY pleasantly surprised by this bookshelf. It's beautiful, solid wood and made very, very well. It's solid and sturdy and unfolds right out of the box ready to go. I will be buying more of these! I hope they make the mantel available here.

I've owned this bookcase for a couple of years, and I can attest that it's pretty awesome. The shelves are easily big enough to fit most paperback books and even some smallish hardcovers (anything above around 7 or 8 inches and you'll have to store it on the top shelf).

Just be careful with weight distribution -I put a few heavy college textbooks on the top shelf of mine and the wood bottom of the shelf wound up splitting in two. If you have heavier, larger books looking for a home, you might investigate a different bookcase.

I had to return item for credit. The item is no where close to the size specifications shown in the description when ordered. Possibly an oversight but missleading none-the-less.

These are nice coat hooks, but they were MUCH SMALLER than we had expected. This was our fault; we should have read the description more thoroughly. Nice hooks if you need something pretty small I don't think these would work well for adult-sized coats without dropping them.

Ameriwood Double Door Pantry, 30-Inch Wide

If you need additional no-frills storage for a reasonable price, this is the right cabinet. Roomy with plenty of shelves. Assembly was time consuming (over an hour) but straightforward. Aligning doors takes a while if you are not familiar with adjusting hinges. Material is melamine laminated particle board with cardboard back panel. Prefab design, pre-punched hole locations, etc. make for very good fit and finish. We're happy with it.

I ordered this because Ameriwood products are made in America. However, when the box arrived, it was a Brookshire Creations brand cabinet identical to the advertised cabinet, but it's made in Canada. Granted, that's better than Chinese garbage, but I bought & paid for an American made product. Due to the brand difference, the cherry finish does not match my Ameriwood wardrobe. I'm leaving a positive review of the product itself... it was of fine quality, and easy to assemble. I'm just irritated that I didn't receive what the description indicated. Buyer be warned.

Now that the rant is over, on to the review:

The unit is made of a plywood like composite, much better than particle board. The hinge mounting locations are very sturdy, recessed deeply into the wood. The doors were easy to install & adjust by a single person... easier than my Ameriwood wardrobe, I'm sad to say. When I first attached them, there was a 1/2" gap between them, but with a little adjustment to the hinges, I got it down to 1/16"... perfect. The bottom shelf can hold 50 pounds, the permanent shelves can hold 35 pounds, and the 2 adjustable shelves can hold 30 pounds. The veneer is very nice, where it wasn't scratched & gouged from substandard packaging. Fortunately, all the really bad scratches & gouges were on the inside or very bottom. Assembly took me around 90 minutes from opening the package to tightening the last hinge screw.

All in all, if American made doesn't matter to you above all else, this is a fine unit that will serve you well for years to come.

It took a long time to put together, which would be fine if the end product was what was pictured. We couldn't get the doors to meet not matter how much adjusting we did with the hinges. It's a silly looking cabinet in our kitchen with a pretty noticeable gap running down the center. I like the size of the cabinet so it meets my storage needs, but if it wasn't so hard to return, I don't think I would've kept it.

Package arrived beat up. Scratches and chips on the finish. Broken footer board. We fixed it because we didn't want to mess with it to send it back. But, give me a break. The supplier must have bought this product from the bottom of a clearance pile.

Very cute, and far sturdier than I was expecting. The dividers are about 1/8th inch thick and feel like solid wood rather than composite. I still think $20 is pretty expensive for these, but I don't regret my purchase.

Decent product...great concept.

Shelving added to a traditional room divider was just what we wanted. We were looking to create two separate spaces in our daughter's room & she wanted shelving to display some of her artwork. The shelves aren't spaced far enough apart for her to present large pieces (about 12 in. between each shelf), so she uses the top shelf for the large canvases and uses the lower shelves for smaller drawings, sculptured items, etc...

The shelving material is light-weight, and the finish seems as if it will be scratched easily, and the hinges on the divider sections are not heavy duty, but the unit should be more than adequate for our needs.

Be warned if you plan to use the display as pictured, it's very shaky. When this came, the picture showed the unit in more of a "W" shape, with the shelves threaded through it. Done that way it's very stable, however you will have very little shelf space.The unit hasn't tipped over yet, but it does make me a little nervous.

On the plus side, it comes assembled just slide the shelves through. I expected to at least have to screw the hinges on, but no! I really like the piece, but I'm not sure it's worth the price. I used a gift card to purchase it and though I really like it, I wouldn't buy another one with my actual money unless it were on sale.

Really not tall enough, in my opinion, to be a "room divider", since most people can see right over the top of it, but it is very pretty. The shelf ends could have been better finished, and the back of the panels aren't as well finished as the fronts, which is why I am only giving four stars. However, it is an attractive unit once set up. It can be done in the configuration shown in the picture, or folded accordion style and the shelves will still fit through the slots. This allows you to display items on both sides of the unit, instead of just one side.

I absolutely love it. It was really easy to put together. It was packed really well. I like that it's metal-the ones that are wood don't seem as strong as this one. I didn't expect it to be so easy AND it looks super modern and a lot more expensive than it was. It's structurally interesting but the way it's built makes sense(like the holes for the wires to go through the middle part). Really happy I made this purchase and would recommend it for someone who constantly buys crappy stuff from cheap stores(like me) who end up having to buy a new one every time they move. I know I just got it but I feel like I'm gonna have this for a really long time.

This is the largest literature rack I've ever purchased and I must say that larger is better. This one is very good quality, t's easy to install, and it holds a lot of literature. The only negative is that it is hard to get to the bottom slots if you place the rack too close to the floor, but if you don't, you can't reach the top slots. Still, a very good purchase.

First I must admit, this was a gift and I didn't have the pleasure of building it myself. Those tasked with this said it 'wasn't bad' and took a couple of hours and a six pack of beer. There were no problems with hardware, pre drilled holes, etc... When I visited the person who built this I was happily amazed at the look and the feel and the overall quality. It looks like a piece of 'real' furniture and not a particle board fake piece of junk. It has a veneer that looks great and feels like an expensive piece of furniture. I cannot comment on the long term durability of the materials but can guess that if you don't move it much or move it correctly (NOT DRAGGING) it.. it should last you for years. As with all RTA furniture you must be careful during moves or rearranging since this can and will weaken it at connection points. If you don't want to worry about that you'll have to lay down hundreds more for something similar. Overall, a good product, good price and nice addition to your home.

This is real wood veneer, not plastic wrapping that looks like wood that you find on similarly-priced items. Very solid, heavy, and looks like a quality piece of furniture. Only issue is the drawers are not the most heavy duty. Other than that very happy with it.

We ordered this as a replacement for an open glass-shelf TV stand as a way to get cords managed and hidden from little fingers (and not to have sharp glass shelves either.) We also needed a stand that would accommodate a DVD player with a large footprint and it fits just perfectly into the open shelf (it is about 18" square); our cable box and a center speaker fit into the other shelf. Our TV is 42" and there is room enough on either side for side speakers and the wii is tucked behind one. We have put a lot of the speaker wires and other cables/wires into the drawers (which we are planning on putting child locks on) and it is so nice to have them tucked away! Overall I am quite pleased with it. I think it looks better in person than in the picture. A review on another website mentioned it not being sturdy and the reviewer had reinforced it with wood glue; we did not find that we needed to do this. It is plenty sturdy for us and the directions for assembly were easy to follow. We were also happy with the price, as it seems silly to spend a lot of money on technology housing when the technology changes so often (e.g. giant TV armoires of the 90s.) Is it the most solid, high quality stand you could buy? No. But, if you need a TV stand that is deep enough for an older (5 years old haha!) flat screen TV with a trapezoidal footprint and/or to house larger accessories and hide wires AND looks nice at a good price, this is your stand.

Purchased this for my new 50" TV. Easy to out together, took about an hour, and looks really great. Does NOT look like a piece of furniture that cost less than $200. and had to be assembled! Fits in well with my mid-century modern furniture. Very happy I didn't go with something premade from a furniture store for 3 times the cost.
