This is a great deal! I went to the local import warehouse, Pier 1 Imports and looked at the similar unit that they sell; it's a piece of junk and grossly overpriced.

This is a HARDWOOD bookcase that comes neatly packaged and goes into place in about five minutes, depending on where you put the empty box.

Like every one of these I've had (way above five), it's wobbly until it has books in it and I really would not recommend stacking if it's placed on a deep-pile rug, as mine is.

Read descriptions carefully! There are several of these bookcases available that have particle-board shelves. These also usually have poor hardware and shoddy construction.

This product is a bargain at the price, particularly if you are a PRIME member and take advantage of free shipping.

Incidentally, if you are NOT a PRIME member and you buy a lot from Amazon, I encourage you to join; it will more than pay for itself in shipping costs.

We own thousands of books. We like stackable bookcases, and have acquired many over the years. Quality varies, but I've never seen worse quality than these. We bought 4 of these bookcases. The first 2 fell apart right out of the shipping box. We didn't open the last 2.

The bottom 2 shelves fell off. Critical screws were missing. The back supports splintered. The wood had extra holes, weakening it. We gently unpacked it. The package wasn't damaged. They obviously shipped junk.

Now, we're out $100 for shipping this garbage. I can only hope they refund it.

Seen these for years and finally bought one for an apartment office. Good quality construction. Arrived with one of the "spokes" on the side broken right at the point where it meets the shelf support (blame UPS), so was able to slip in back in place a little wood glue and it looks like new. The unit tends be a little wobbly, even after filling the shelves with books. Gluing it all together might be an option, if you have no need to fold it up again, which might stiffen the unit. Adding the top shelf might also help. I'd be reluctant to stack these at all unless I could put them on a hard, level surface and even then I'd probably screw the unit to the wall.

Buying furniture online can be a bit of a crapshoot in terms of quality, so I was VERY pleasantly surprised by this bookshelf. It's beautiful, solid wood and made very, very well. It's solid and sturdy and unfolds right out of the box ready to go. I will be buying more of these! I hope they make the mantel available here.

I've owned this bookcase for a couple of years, and I can attest that it's pretty awesome. The shelves are easily big enough to fit most paperback books and even some smallish hardcovers (anything above around 7 or 8 inches and you'll have to store it on the top shelf).

Just be careful with weight distribution -I put a few heavy college textbooks on the top shelf of mine and the wood bottom of the shelf wound up splitting in two. If you have heavier, larger books looking for a home, you might investigate a different bookcase.

I got them for a candy exchange party that I host and need lots and lots of room for trays full of chocolate candies as they harden. They held the heavy trays without making me worry about them tipping over and ruining all of our hard work. And, I love how compact they are when folded for storage. It was a little hard, at first, to get the bottom tier to come out of it's locked position but has gotten easier now that I have the hang of it and broken it in a bit. I have used it for a variety of sizes and shapes of cookie sheets, 16 inch round pizza sheets, standard muffin pans, cake pans, 9x13 brownie pans, and it will even hold cooling racks. I prefer it over the "stacking cooling racks" since you can access any tray at any time and use the pans/racks/sheets that you already own. If you use it for items that are taller than the space provided between each tier, you can opt to leave one or both of the center tiers in the up/folded position. They stay with out falling.

I love this thing! No matter how much counter space you have, you can't ever find enough room for trays of Christmas cookies. This gadget solves that problem.

I also like to use it when I make homemade pasta. I can lay the pasta sheets out on cookie trays and stack them up near the pasta machine. No more trailing around the kitchen with pasta sheets flapping in the breeze, looking for a place to lay them out to dry.

This product performs as promised, which is in and of itself a rarity. I have two of them which I use when baking cookies. I place a cooling rack on each and then start making the dough. As a tray of cookies is prepared they go on to the rack waiting for oven time. As a tray comes out of the oven it too goes to the rack. Once they have cooled in the pan the pan is removed and the cookies go directly to the rack,,, and so it continues.

I bought four of these racks and gave one as a gift. The other three I used last week to bake 70 croissant pastries and they held the sheet pans perfectly. The pans are 13" x 18". The racks are very sturdy and held the pans while the croissants were rising and also when cooling. I never worried about them toppling from the weight and they were pretty heavy. This wire shelf is great because it is modular, sturdy, and easy to assemble. What I like about this shelf is that each of the four posts comes in 2 pieces that screw together in the center to form a solid connection. This allows you to either construct one great big tall shelf or two half sized shelves with the option of attaching another shelf layer in between. This is highly useful if your storage needs ever change. Once assembled, the wire shelf is sturdy and easy to move with the included castor wheels; these roll smoothly on ball bearings and also lock into place. The fit and finish seems good and welded connection points of this brand of wire shelf seem better than other brands of wire shelves that I own.

The only issue I have is that assembly of the shelf relies on plastic conical wedges that use small nibs and grooves to secure the shelves in place. For one, they are plastic so I don't know how well they will fare outdoors in the sun. Two, occasionally you may damage or flatten the plastic nib on the wedge and render the piece useless; replacements can be easily had, though. Lastly, because the shelf construction relies on downward pressure to secure a shelf to the posts, one cannot pick up and move the unit by lifting at the shelf itself, but rather must grasp at the posts to lift. These however are only minor annoyances that do not seriously affect my satisfaction with this product.

Ordering any furniture on line is a risk but this was worth the gamble! The wood matches Polk's cherry-wood speakers to a TEE! There is wire management on the rear and the glass is nicely beveled. It is so sturdy that we were able to place and wire all of our components then pick it up and slide into the wall. The Mrs was very, very happy with how it looks.

Solid clever construction (glass sandwiched between wood). The wood is particle board or press board (you can see it in the holes) but it looks really good. Very sturdy.

I balked at the shipping cost but for the price of the stand; total price was fine and definitely worth it.

VERY well packed. The box had some dings/digs in it but everything inside had solid styrofoam and cloth; glass edges had plastic protectors.

Directions were easy to read, parts were packaged individually and in order of use.

This piece looks very good. I especially like that it is not deep (front to back) and makes my large room look larger. I also like the height of the shelves and the total piececan fit larger center speakers (and other equipment). Looks identical to the pic. Now the badhad a defective part (back support) which required contacting the company three times (they sent the wrong piece) and sending them pics of the piece. The people were nice but it took two weeks to resolve while the stand sat there unfinished in my family room. It was originally inspected (sticker), but not competently.

My parts bag was torn open, parts scattered in the box (but all there)

Fit of doors is hit-or-miss, not always 'square' in the openings, you can mitigate this some by lifting on one side or the other (the unit will flex slightly)

The dowels that support the shelves in the cabinets are not level with each other, as a result one shelf is not stable and will "rock" slightly. For me this is only one one side, and only in one of the 3 possible height positions (the middle one which is really where I want the shelf).

UPDATE: I called SEI's customer support line regarding the damaged top piece I received. I was able to speak to a human without too much automation, and she arranged for a new top piece to be shipped to me no questions asked and no charge. Product was exactly as described. Strong, sturdy and great quality. Product arrived on time and easy to assemble.

This product met all my expectations. It is attractive, easy to assemble, and--for the price--has more hardwood than most. It is quite thin, meaning it is not obtrusive if the look you want is "decorator" other than "techie". The best thing is that it is the right viewing height, as opposed to some stands from "real furniture" companies that may be anywhere from four to six inches higher. Buyers should be aware that the "antique white" is more toward the yellow side. It is pretty much the actual color shown in the photo. I would have given this product a five star rating except for one small oddity on my particular stand: the decorative apron beneath the front edge actually touches the floor. It would look better if it were a bit shorter.

The stem (most important bit on how it attaches to the shelving or any other needs) is 3/8" 16. I believe the stem is 1" if not 1.5" long but that should be fine for shelves. Coarse threading (not fine threading).

If you want to test of this will work for your needs, go to home depot and pick up a 3/8" coarse bolt and test for your use.

FYI, harbor freight and home depot has ONE caster with these technical dimensions for $8+ EACH. Great deal at ~$20 for 4.

These were just what I needed for my storage cage. Now I just roll them out to access whatever I need to get. Sure is a back saver.

My wife uses the bakers racks as book shelves. These casters have a relatively soft threaded shank that screws into a fitting on bakers rack leg, and the thread is how you adjust for uneven floors. I purchased two of the Mesh pullout drawers and they were the only pull out drawers I could find that fit under the bathroom vanity because of all the plumbing.

You can either screw them in place or just let them sit on their ruber feet.

They hold tall and small items and slide in and out with no effort at all.

The product fails to have simple rails or controls to prevent tipping. any load on either the upper or lower shelves causes the contents to spill on the floor when pulled out.

I purchased this slide out cabinet basket to hold the K-cups that go to my Keurig coffee machine. This basket holds MANY more K-cups than those carousels, which look nice, but TO ME would be inconvenient...take out, replace, take out replace, etc. (Carousel doesn't look that nice with empty spots.) I've seen other baskets sold specifically for K-cups, and while they are more aesthetically pleasing, they don't hold as many as this basket can, plus the bottom part of the top basket can be in your way with that other basket, since you have to reach your hand in, hitting the top of your hand on the bottom of the top basket. THIS basket bottom slides out making the bottom basket more easily accessible. Let me also repeat that this basket holds MORE K-cups, so it doesn't have to be filled as often.

If you don't like the color, I'd guess it can be easily painted.

This product is sturdy, even without fastening it to anything.

I gave this item only 4 stars as a little corner of the mesh was sticking out...its no biggie really though, as I was able to maneuver it into place with decent pressure. I'd still consider this a sturdy product.

I ordered 4 of these to try and organize the space under the bathroom sinks. I am very pleased. Now it's so easy to actually get to the bandaids, essential oil, mouthwash, hairdryer or whatever else you put in there. I also noticed that at first if I pulled the baskets out, they were front heavy and would tip forward. I found that by securing one of the bread ties that came with the original packaging around the bottom rail and basket about 3 inches forward stops the basket from tipping. I didnt even secure the units down with the screws that came with it.

I bought them at another store and the ones I have came with screws so you can screw down the bottom frame so the frame can't move. However, I haven't needed to do that.

I use one under my kitchen sink for cleaning products (in addition to a wire basket on the inside of one of the cabinet doors).

I use two in my pantry as it is much deeper than wide, and I was tired of trying to see what I had in the back of it.

Frenchi Home Furnishing 5 Tier Corner Stand, Cherry Color

Well, I was looking for something to use as a non-traditional nightstand, when I stumbled across this corner rack. It was just the sort of elegant-looking style I had in mind, plus at a price that can't be beaten! So I ordered it and eagerly awaited its arrival...

Once I got it, it was very easy to put together. I took my time so I wouldn't break anything like an idiot, and it went together smoothly and easily. Once fully assembled, it felt sturdy and solid. It did wobble on my carpet, but it was because the carpet was squishy, not because the legs were uneven (I tested it on a linoleum floor). I did notice that it's not the most stable thing in the world. It's tall and skinny, so it's a bit top heavy and I would not put a bunch of heavy stuff on the top shelves with nothing on the bottom. In fact, if you are planning to use it on carpet, I'd suggest placing a larger heavier item on the bottom shelf to weigh it down and discourage tipping. I'm planning to use a decorative trunk on that lower shelf, so that should work great. Be careful though, I don't know what weight rating it has, but the wood is thin, so I doubt it could handle anything too heavy. Certainly don't put a 50 lb. block of lead on the bottom shelf or anything.

As for the appearance of the unit, it looks nice once it's fully assembled. I daresay that this is the prettiest item of its type that your going to find for this price. The cherry stain is quite pretty, and it's got a medium gloss finish, but the undersides of the shelves are not finished, so bear that in mind. Oh, and I should mention that the product image shows a gold-colored decorative ring on all the shelves, but the one I got didn't have it. Weird. It doesn't bother me much, though, as it still looks fine.

Lastly, for anyone who's really dying to know, I'm going to provide a complete set of measurements of everything I can think of. The height is about 47.5 inches from the floor to the top of the highest shelf. Now I'll list the measures of the radii of the shelves (from the back corner to the outer edge). Please keep in mind that the shelves are slightly scalloped, so these measurements are approximate: 15 inches on the bottom shelf, 13.5 inches on the second to bottom shelf, 12 inches on the middle shelf, 10 inches on the second to top shelf, and 9 inches on the top shelf. Okay, so now I'm going to list width of each shelf, measuring from column to column (that way, you know how wide of a box you could set on any shelf): 14.5 inches on the bottom shelf, 12.5 inches on the second to bottom shelf, 10.5 inches on the middle shelf, 8.5 inches on the second to top shelf, and 8 inches on the top shelf. Also, there's 10.75 inches of space between each shelf. Well, that's all the relevant measurements I can think of. Enjoy!

I ordered this piece of furniture as a plant stand so that I could have a more compact place to keep plants in my dining room. If you are looking for a place to store larger plants you will be disappointed with this stand. The shelves are very small and, more importantly for me, the distance between shelves is very short (under 1 foot). In spite of the spatial ineptitudes of this stand I am very happy with it. I think it would work very well for someone looking for a unique way to display photos or some other small items. It does have some very pretty details and seems quite well made in general, especially for the price. It is sturdy enough for my uses but I doubt it would support too much weight. It is elegant looking and fits well in my dining room.

This stand is nice; the cherry finish is good on top, but the undersides of shelves are not finished at all. The shelves are not as thick/sturdy as I would have liked and one leg was cracked (which I just put in the back at the top level). For $25, it wasn't worth returning and it does look good in the corner. There's about 12 inches between shelves and it holds books and knickknacks well.

As most other people commented, this is an excellent stand, very sturdy, very classy looking. Easy assembly, maybe 30-40 minutes. Before I bought this, I could not find any info on the clearance of the shelfs; I have a high end receiver (Sony STR-DG720) that is about 6.25 inches high, and it wasn't clear to me if that would fit in any of the shelves on this stand. So here is some info on shelf heights and clearance: on the bottom shelf, you can fit anything up to 5.25 inches in height, which is more than enough for DVD player, PS2, PS3, etc., but not a high end receiver. The shelf above has more clearance; units up to 6.5 inches high slide easily in from the front (or back), so my Sony Receiver fits in nicely. Since the glass above (which the TV stands on) is supported by "domed" metal beams, you actually have up to 8.5 inches of height, if you slide any unit onto that shelf from the sides. This is because the metal frames the whole unit stand on cover a little bit of the total height of the second shelf at the front and back, but not on the sides. I actually was almost able to put my center speaker bar on top of my tall receiver on this shelf when sliding it in from the side, there was just a tenth of an inch or so height missing to do that. But since there is so much horizontal space on both shelves anyway, that was not needed (one can easily fit three components side by side on each shelf). So in summary, there is more than enough height on the second shelf for tall electronic units like high end receivers. Hope this is helpful!

I shopped for a TV stand big enough to fit a 61" DLP TV and I went everywhere from Wal-mart to Best Buy to Ikea (online). This is the stand to get. This stand looks amazing in black metal and black tempered glass.

Wal-mart has some cheap particle board set for roughly the same price as this item. Best Buy has two classes of TV stands, those in their Magnolia section (which look great but run $1300+, I might as well get another TV) and their more moderately priced units run $299-$600. This unit still looks better than any of the stuff I saw in that section and it's bigger. There was a really basic particle board Ikea TV stand (Lack) for big TVs for $69, but they didn't deliver that model nor is there an Ikea store near where I live. And I'm glad there's not because I found this gem next.

This bad boy is 90+ pounds HEAVY and I really felt sorry for the sole UPS guy trying to carry it up the hill to my door but made me appreciate the fact that I didn't have to lug a unit in my car from a nearby store.

Ideally takes two people to setup for alignment purposes, but building it out is really easy and quick and the instructions are a snap. I'd probably build out the metal frame first, move it to where you want it, then put the glass on.

My only concern with the stand is that one of the parts came scratched and slightly dented. Luckily it was one of the support beams that runs underneath the glass and you can't see it anyway so I really didn't care because I was so satisfied with the unit after it was done, but this review probably would've been a different story if it had been one of the visible bars.

I confess that this stand really doesn't go with our home's colonial styling but, then again, neither does our 52" Sony Bravia XBR. The stand does however suit the flatscreen beautifully in style. I went oversize on the stand (60" stand for a 52" flatscreen) because I wanted a little 'margin of error' around the television so we'd be more likely to bump into the stand than the television and thus reduce the chance of knocking the television over.

The stand is pretty darn heavy. The frame isn't at all heavy, it's the three thick glass shelves (with the topmost shelf being especially thick) that add all the weight. I used the thin styrofoam type packing wrap to handle the shelves, which helped my grip as well as keep the glass fingerprint-free. Assembly might have been tedious but I worked while watching television so I didn't notice the passing of time. Everything lined up nicely and went together without even a single muttered curse. Knowing my husband's proclivity for spontaneously rearranging furniture, I stuck some heavy duty felt pads onto the bottom of the feet before I loaded the stand with the glass shelves. The 1" felt pads fit nicely into the bottom of the feet and allowed me to shift the stand on the hardwood floor even after it was weighted down. (Obviously, only do small, careful 'tweaks' to the positioning of the stand while the television is on it, otherwise remove the television before moving the stand! I know that should be obvious but...)

As others have mentioned, the shelves are not actually anchored onto the stand but the little rubbery adhesive nubs included do add plenty of friction as well as protection and the weight of the glass, even unladen with equipment, keeps the shelves pretty firmly in place -unless perhaps you live in earthquake territory and, if you do, you probably should consider something that doesn't contain huge glass shelves, even if the glass is tempered.

I have to disagree with other reviewers about the lack of doors. Doors would only slow the accumulation of dust, not stop it, and the doors would actually make it a harder to clean, harder to assemble, etc. The simplicity of style and smoothness of the glass makes it quite easy to clean. (Cord management by bundling, wrapping, etc. will go a long way to making things easier on the eye as well as contributing to the ease of cleaning.) For the 'complaint' about the lack of doors making the equipment too accessible to children, I'd have to point out that a low object with very large spans of glass supported by 'I' shape framework is probably not the best choice for households with children. I wouldn't be worried about the tempered glass hurting the kids (unless they fell onto the edge because, even blunted, it's still a hard, narrow edge) but I'd be concerned about a sharp, concentrated force shattering the glass and causing the television to fall -possibly on the rambunctious child.

I do love the smooth, sleek simplicity of this stand, even if it doesn't fit the rest of our decor. All the equipment blends into the shelves nicely because everything is black... except my Wii, which sticks out like a pale sore thumb. lol So, excellent price, ease of assembly, and sleek styling make this stand an excellent choice if you don't have rambunctious children or teens, or live in earthquake-prone areas. Also, if by circumstance or positioning you need to anchor your television, this probably isn't the stand for you because there's no practical way of anchoring the television to the stand. Other than that, this stand is easy on the eye as well as the wallet and does a great job of combining simplicity, style, and functionality in one affordable -though heavy -package.

So here's the scope:

pros:

-Awesome and sturdy stand. I have a 55inch Panasonic TV on it and it fits great.

-The shelves are tall enough to fit a PS3, XBOX360, and my ATT U-Verse boxes (laying down). The Wii fits but it has to go further back because it's too tall to sit right up front, but still fits and I have no problems. Lol I like video games I guess.

-The design looks very modern and professional and makes your living room look very nice.

-Great price from Amazon and I got free shipping. Other sites had it way over what I paid. (If you just bought a 55inch LED TV, price really matters).

-Not too hard to set up took about an hour (more about that in the "cons").

-Great height. When I sit on my couch (and they're all different, but mine is pretty average) I can see the middle to the tv at eye level so it's perfect. :-)

Cons:

-Package and glass is HEAVY. I had to lug it back to my apatment from the main office (about 400m) and I was smoked. Weighs at least 100lbs. I stopped for several breaks and had several people stare at me lol.

-The WORST part was that the screw that holds back panel did not screw in no matter what I did. It wasn't worth it to pack it all up to return it so I just got a hammer and slammed it in there, but it's not very secure and I just don't use it (don't put cords through the back holes). Since it's a open back, it's just basically cosmetic, but it really bugs me. Make sure you keep the boxes during construction.

-Construction could be confusing to some, but it's pretty straight forward if you've ever seen a screw driver before. The real con of it is it does take almost an hour set up. Have a friend help you because once it's constructed, you'll need someone else to help you move it in place (unless you're the Hulk).

I purchased this for a reasonably priced stand for my new Panasonic Plasma, Panasonic VIERA S1 Series TC-P58S1 58-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV, Black. The prices of flat screens have fallen but not so for the prices of stands to hold the large flat screens. Since I move my room around on occasion a wall mount was out. This stand works perfectly for this size set, flanking it with a couple of inches on eash side to spare. The problem of the smaller stands, in my opinion, is that if the TV is wider than the stand, it looks top heavy and unbalanced visually. There is plenty of depth for positioning the TV forward or backward several inches, or to rotate the TV to fine tune the position if necessary. I have mine centered on the stand in left-right and front back.

The stand is well made and provides a solid foundation for the 110 lb. Panny plus a few audio components I have on the shelves. The shelves themselves are black tinted tempered glass, shiny on one side and matte on the other. The glass sits upon rubber pads that have adhesive on one side to stick to the frame. The rest of the shelf is essentially just matte black metal frame and one plastic piece in back to hide the cabling. Assembly was extremely simple with just a screwdriver and an allen wrench, which was provided. I used my own T-Handled hex wrench which made it go much easier (I don't recall the exact size as I sit here typing). An electric screwdriver with an allen bit would be even easier but not necessary. The shelf looks great assembled, has a very modern sleek appearance that will visually blend with any flat screen. The quality is top notch.

I have only three relatively minor criticisms of the shelf. The first two are simply cosmetic. First, the glass shows dust and fingerprints easily requiring some frequent wiping if you are sensitive to them. Second, the cable management provided by the plastic piece along the back doesn't really hide the cables. If you don't want your cables to be seen you will have to make an effort to position your cables together, tie them or whatever you choose to do, and place your components strategically to cover them up. I haven't gone to the trouble yet and you can clearly see the power cables, speaker wires, HDMIs, etc. running vertically and at angles back behind. It is what it is and is not unique to this shelf, but is common to these sleek, open designs.

My last criticism is in regards to the Techraft company in their misleading specifications and has nothing to do with the shelf itself. I went to their website, downloaded the schematic drawing and planned my purchase accordingly. The dimensions and spacing measurements they give are not completely accurate. The space between the bottom and middle shelf is listed at 6.5", which is true for the front aperture, but due to the frame piece that runs the width of the shelf to provide support for the middle shelf, there is only 5" height clearance at about 8.5" deep into the rack. This came into play as I planned to place my new Klipsch L,R, and Center speakers (Klipsch Icon Series WB-14 Speaker 2-way espresso Klipsch WC24 2-Way Center Channel Loudspeaker (Espresso)) on the middle shelf and my receiver, BD player and DVR on the lower shelf. The receiver, and almost all other receivers on the market except the Marantz NR1501 slimline Marantz NR1501 Slim Line Home Theater Receiver, is too tall to fit under that frame piece on the bottom shelf. The receiver and speakers are too wide to all fit on the middle shelf. This leaves me with four options; 1.) buy a new receiver 2.) buy stands for my front L & R speakers 3.) place something under the TV to raise it up about 1.5" and place the speakers on the top shelf in front of the TV or 4.) scoot the receiver back behind the brace, sticking out the back of the rack. Not wanting to spend any additional funds, I have opted for number 4 at this time.

In summary, this is a fantastic piece of furniture for the large flat screen segment. It looks great, is solidly constructed, is easy to put together, and blends seamlessly with flat screens. It is the best value on the market for this application, bar none. Just keep in mind that your receiver will not fit on the bottom shelf if it is of a standard size. I purchased mine here on Amazon because of the free shipping. You can find better prices but watch the shipping fees because this is over 100 pounds shipped. I did find it slightly cheaper, including shipping fees, other places but not with 2 day shipping speed.
