First, the instructions were not at all clear. Although I have assembled many pieces of furniture and consider myself fairly handy, I had to disassemble twice to reassemble. The third time was a charm. The front of the bottom piece had a fairly big chip on it but, rather than return it (how would one even go about that nightmare?), we used a black permanent marker to make it less obvious.

The most serious complaint I have with this piece is the absolute lack of stability for tipping forward or backward (a big safety hazard if you have small children). Both side pieces extend to and touch the floor from front to back for side support, but the bottom is otherwise elevated from the floor approximately 1.25". The only support offered in the middle is one small circular "leg" which allows the piece to rock forward and backwards. We purchased some wood slats from our local hardware store to build a better support in the middle to prevent tipping, but it is still not extremely stable. Fortunately, we have no small children so it's not as big of an issue for us. However, in my opinion, this is a huge design defect and should cause a recall of all of these products. Packaging was efficient, 100 lb box. Instructions were basic and assembly was easy (60-90 minutes). I love this tv stand it easily holds cable box, modem, router, ps3, xbox 360, wii, original xbox, ps2 and remotes with a kinect sensor and wii sensor... plus whatever you want to store behond the glass cabinets. Hands down, this tv stand is perfect for anyone with a lot of consoles.

But this is what you need to know... my stand wobbled slightly, but when I put some adhesive-backed felt moving pads uner the legs, it was perfect. The finish it a coating and it was chipped off in a few spots but nothing noticeable I don't have a furniture marker to cover it up but that would do the trick to fix it. And teh only other note I did not install the backing to the stand because I wanted the open space for air circulation. It's the standard thin backing that you nail into the particle board (similar to Ikea furniture) I son't mind it but after a few moves, the nails might come loose.

Conclusion: The stand is exactly what a gamer needs and it looks awesome with a big screen tv on top of it I highly recommend.

Easy to assemble, all by myself :-). tricky part is the glass door hinges, but that's something I've never done before, not a flaw in their instructions or product. Went together great, looks great. I left the backing off completely (it's the wierd paper board like you put on the back of a bookshelf) as I want to make sure the airflow is high to the electronics inside. Looks fine without it, Top three bays, tall enough to hold a Stereo Receiver, PS3, Direct TV Box (the later two with room to spare). Center shelves, tall enough to stand DVD's on, side shelving... their picture shows a speaker in in the right shelf space, but the only speakers that would fit are the smaller surround speakers. Biggest benefit on this product was being able to find the schematics prior to purchasing to measure against the items i was trying to put in certain places. Great product, great price, great service from the seller.

Ikea Expedit Bookcase Room Divider Cube Display

The other reviewer gave this product one star because it costs more than buying direct from an iKea store. However, try buying it online from iKea and see the outrageous shipping costs. Buying from an online merchant costs a lot less than having it shipped from ikea. Personally, I am very happy someone has figured out a way to save me money while making a little for their trouble,

The ikea exedit shelving units are my favorite. I love the cubed look and the dark wood. It Is extremely functional for my needs and it is the reason it was worth the extra money to have it shipped here. Even with that extra cost, I find it cheaper than some of the local alternatives that I do not like nearly as much.

Putting it together takes a bit of time, but the effort is worth it.

It's annoying that when people are upset with the price of something, they give the actual product a lower review...

That being said, I happen to live close to an Ikea store and bought this there yesterday. Obviously, it was significantly cheaper than the price listed here, but this package was EXTREMELY heavy. Both amazon and Ikea have to charge a hefty fee for shipping these because of how heavy and huge they are to ship.

When we got the unit home, it took my husband about 40 minutes to put it together. The instructions are easy and the only difficult part about putting it together is that it uses lots of dowels instead of screws, so you have to line up everything exactly and use a little upper body strength to muscle the pieces together.

This shelf looks fantastic in our living room. I am so pleased with the purchase. I considered some cheaper units at big box stores, but I'm so glad I went with this one. The others were so thin and flimsy looking and had visible screws along the top. The Expedit unit looks so nice as a piece of furniture, and is substantial and not flimsy at all. We bought the black-brown color and placed it horizontally. We also bought 4 of the collapsible baskets that fit perfectly in the cubbies for my kid's toys and clutter. You would never know they use that area of the living room as a play room. When we clean up at the end of the day, no more toy clutter and our living room looks beautiful again! I'm sure once the kids are older, we can continue to use the shelf to display books and knick knacks. And I love that you can use it horizontally or vertically, too.

This shelf is great, very versatile, and looks very nice. I would recommend it to anyone looking for this cubby-type of storage. Obviously, it will be much cheaper for you if you can buy it from an Ikea store. But if you can't, it's still a great buy and much cheaper than other similar storage sold from high-end stores.

We bought this shelving unit after looking at several similar products at Lowes, Target and Walmart. What this unit has that others do not is a thicker outside frame that give it a more modern feel. It also looks more solid and expensive than other similar units. We have one 8-cube shelf with a few books and storage baskets in our living room, two more in my office that hold my professional literature, and we're about to buy another to go under a mounted flat-screen t.v.non our bedroom. I highly recommend this unit for its clean lines, functionality in terms of storage and modern style. Fabulous!

Great bookcase, it just what we were looking for. The problem was that it didn't come with dowels or screws. Having to go out and find and buy the hardware for this made it not worth it but returning it didn't really seem like a good option either, with having to repack all the boards. Waiting for them to send the hardware kit meant dealing with a bookcase kit on the floor in the middle of the living room. It was a total pain.

Sauder Heritage Hill 5 Shelves Bookcase in Classic Cherry Finish

I've bought many book shelves over the years on the low cost side as can't afford thousands for a bookshelf. By far this bookshelf by Sauder is the best I've purchased that was at an affordable price. Nice cherry wood finish all the usual parts for these kinds of bookshelves -and get this, even a "Furniture Touch-up Pen" included for any future mars or marks. Nice touch.

This is a great looking set of shelves that have a really classy look and will really bring something lovely to any room. The major problem with this is that the set up isn't the easiest I've ever seen and Sauder makes this actually a bit of an unnecessary pain in some places. Be prepared for a potential 3 hour exercise if you're not careful and don't try to do it alone. It's impossible. By far the most difficult aspect of the job is the front facing mouldings on either sides of the case. Some of the instructions could also be slightly clearer but all in all, the effort is worth it for a great affordable set of shelves. Also don't be put off buying other Sauder bookcases just because the construction of this one is slightly pyschotic. I've put up other Sauder bookcases and they were a lot easier.

Bookcase was well packaged, except for the back panel which was folded leaving two ugly creases. Books will cover them up but they can still be seen. Other than the back panel, it's probably the best looking screw-together bookcase on the market. I bought it to match my computer desk which is also the Heritage Hill series. Structurally, it's not so good. I may not have bought it if I had known the shelf capacities were considerably less than the competition. Sauder does not bother to tell you that the shelves are only 5/8" thick and the movable shelves carry only 25#. I think if Sauder will upgrade the shelf capacities and repackage it so the back panel would not have to be folded, they would have an outstanding product. They could also think about adding an optional sixth shelf since the spaces are almost 14".

This is a beautiful bookcase. After looking at hundreds of bookcases online, I chose this one and am very satisfied with it. I bought it to go in my son's bedroom for him to display all of his Legos' on. After getting the first one and putting it together with my son (He thoroughly enjoyed it, and compared it to putting together Legos'.) I ordered a second one. I highly recommend it! Just take your time assembling it because it can be a little confusing if you're not used to doing this type of thing.

The product has a rich color. Apart from the sloppy delivery causing it's first dent/scratch, the workmanship is "OK". Precision could be much better, as not all pieces line up tightly. It is somewhat sturdy, and the backing seams are very noticeable. Glad they included a touch up marker. Some traditionally metal pieces are now plastic. Overall, quality is no more than what you would expect for the price.

Black Mountain Console Table

The console arrived on time and I proceeded to assemble it. The wood is solid and the pieces fit together nicely. However, when I used a damp cloth as instructed to clean the surface some of the markings did not come off. Upon closer inspection I could see how the top shelf, the most prominent and visible, had marks caused by something in the manufacturing process at the factory. They are unsightly and ruin the effect of the whole piece. I have tried damp cloths and wood surface products to no avail. At a brick and mortar store this item would be tagged "As Is" and reduced in price. It is far too much trouble to disassemble the console, package it and send it back. What a disappointment. The company should offer a discount in such cases. This is one more reason not to buy online.

PS I topped it off by attaching a Bello TV upright to the rear of the stand by simply drilling two holes, which raised my TV viewing an additional 15", and allowed me to use the top shelf for additional décor, which also hid all the cabling. Looks like they were made for each other!

Now that I have this assembled and in use I do like it, but I was cursing the hours it took to put together. with 8 nuts and bolts for each shelf and the fact that the metal arrives bent and you have to bend it back into the right shape, this was a bit#h to put together.

Very time consuming to assemble. It had a LOT of screws and nuts. It was hard to access them all with a socket or wrench. The pre-machined holes in the shelves and uprights didn't align.

Not heavy duty. Shelves are thin metal, easily deformed and incapable of holding a reasonable load. Not bolt-less. Unit comes with a bag of bolts and every shelf and brace requires installation of a bolt and nut. The plastic bins are flimsy and barely adequate. Definitely not worth the money

It cleared up a lot of wasted space in my apartment. It was exactly what I needed.

These are great shelves. I've seen other shelves and own other "consumer" shelves like them, which are shorter and shallower. I've been looking for a good shelf system with 2 foot depth for basement storage and finally found them here. The box arrived a bit mashed up and the instructions were ripped but otherwise the contents were in good condition. The box is somewhat heavy, but probably half as heavy as some you see that come with particle-board shelves. This is a manageable weight so I could tote the box down to the basement. The assembly is straightforward. Before I found these I got a couple of "industrial" shelves of another brand from the home store for garage storage, and they were a considerably heavier and harder to put together and I'm sorry I bought them. These wire shelves are easy to assemble and work with by comparison. I like them enough that I just bought the matching add-on 4-shelf unit (which only has 2 legs and the other side clips onto this original "Starter Kit" shelf).

This tv stand was pretty hard to put together, the screw holes on mine were off pretty far and i had to push very hard at times to get them to line up. i honestly was going to send it back because i was afraid i'd damage it, but kept pushing & luckily it seems ok & very sturdy.

After putting it together I was surpised at how good it looked even though my cords in the back are exposed. After I put it together, I was surprised to find one of the corners was a little damaged. the paint was chipped and it looks like it's a little dented. i was very careful about putting it together, but i can't be sure i didn't do it myself.

Now that it's all together, it's hard to see the little ding & I don't have to worry about the screws anymore, I'm very satisfied. It seems very sturdy and I think it's going to last a long time.

My husband and I love this TV stand, we upgraded to a 37" flat screen TV and wanted to replace our old clunky tv stand with something more modern and after looking for months and resigning myself to the idea that I would never find one in a decent price range, I happened upon this one. I ordered this stand for my flatscreen 32" tv which is used only for our Wii games. It's easily assembled, very sturdy and looks really nice. We put controls on one self with the game unit, games on the next, and slide the exercise board under it.

Keeps everything tidy. The shelves have a nice slick finish. We really like it.

Love it Love it Love it. Sorry I didn't buy one before. Island was delivered in a speedy manner and in multiple boxes. Took maybe 2 hours tops for hubby to put it together just need some additional muscle to attach the leaf to the granite top before attaching it as one piece to the unit. It is just as it is described to be. Doors and back of unit are a little thin could maybe stand to be a tad heavier. Overall, would buy one again and definitely recommed it to a friend.

This island is great, size wise it is perfect, the Granite top is excellent. Overall the construction is pretty good although the wood used in the drawers is incredibly soft, almost like balsa wood. This one area lets down the rest of the product which is very solid. Assembly is also very easy and the directions are well thought out and consequently easy to follow. Overall, as a product I am very happy with it.

Unfortunately some parts for my Island were damaged in shipping and this is where I am extremely disappointed. I have been given the run around on getting parts replaced, going back and forth between the supplier (Cymax) and the manufacturer (Home Styles), with each of these passing info to one another, whilst I sit, relieved of my money and with several broken parts that do not let me fully use the unit. It has been almost 3 weeks since I received the product and I still have only emails and no proposed resolution. My advice; if you can't buy this directly from Amazon (who have the most outstanding customer service) then don't order it.
