I don't know why this is labeled a toy, it's actually a nice storage/cubby unit. This is a great size for storage. There are four of us in the family and we each have our own compartment plus one extra for common household storage. Each cubby has two sets of hooks and plenty of room for shoes, hats, lunch boxes, purses, etc. We put this inside a closet so we left it the way it came, but it would be easy to paint. You assemble and add the hardware so you could paint before attaching the hardware. It's really a great product if you need some extra storage or you need a place for kids to drop their things (besides the floor!) when they get home from school.

This product is great for the price! Mine is actually the 5-shelf unit. Most reviews complain about the difficulty putting it together. I put it together on my own, with my 2 young children (5 and 3) and their new puppy running around in about 30 minutes. Once put together it is sturdy and looks very nice! You will need a hammer to tap the pieces in to the slides fully. The trick to getting it together quick is to lightly press each tab and slide into place. Once BOTH sides are slid in then lightly tap the side near the corner with a hammer to fully set it in the holder. Once complete check to ensure the shelf is sitting in the steel between the small holds on each length of shelf (there are 2 small holds along the length of the long bars to secure the shelf in place).

Its not that bad as they say it is.. took me about 30 minutes to put it together by myself. It is flimsy but what you expect for less than 50 bucks. It gets the job done for what i got it for..

Very poor description. Needs to be anchored to wall or floor, not mentioned in description. Putting it together is almost impossible even with 2 people and no tools needed. Item had to be returned.

I agree with the other reviewers. I actually bought this thing at a thrift store for $24.50. I debate whether to take it back. It looks like the original owner couldn't put it together. They bent some of the pieces. I can do about anything with tools, but I couldn't put this thing together with just hammer. I thought about putting it together with duct tape or clamps, getting all of the shelves set in place , if that is possible, then drilling 32 holes and using small(there's not enough room for large ones) bolts and nuts to keep it from coming apart. Even after that, you would have to be crazy to put 1000 lbs on it as it says on the box. A piece of junk right out of the box.

This is a revision of my review. I did get it put together. It was not easy. I added screws at the top and bottom. It is holding 24 packs of soda, paint cans, etc. It seems fairly strong if it is not twisted or push on. It needs to be up against a wall, best in a corner. I would still recommend that you check into something else.

I wish they made a sign for just the winter season, so I could display snowy trees and homes longer and keep the winter feeling on the mantle. Worth the price.

Bought this item in January of 2013. Don't recall if instructions called for a 2 person set-up, but I assembled it alone and it was no day at the beach. Had a good deal of trouble with the plastic inserts which were cut too thick. Ended up super gluing the door panels to the frame instead. Also had some difficulty with pre drilled holes not lining up perfectly.

Although the side and back panels are not made of fiberboard, they're not solid wood planks either. They are thin plywood layers glued together. Not the "solid wood" construction advertised. Hence, my opinion that as a build it yourself product it was over priced.

On the plus side, it's a good looking unit. The fully adjustable shelves are great, especially since I have varying sizes of food containers, and it's surprisingly roomy. I plan on applying some polyurethane to give it some sheen and make it easier to clean.

I bought this piece to store my dishes after my cheap and flimsy Ikea shelves collapsed and destroyed most of my dishware. (Apparently shelves storing fragile things are not the best thing to economize on. This should probably have been obvious.) This piece is made of solid, beautiful wood -so solid, in fact, that it's also very heavy. If you (like me) live alone in a fourth-floor walk-up, you might want to plan ahead and bribe a friend to help you carry it up the stairs. I had no problem assembling it with the minor exception of the panels on door; as the previous reviewer mentioned, you're supposed to wedge the panels into the door frame using little strips of plastic, and the little plastic strips keep falling out. I don't see this as much of a drawback, though, as the panels stay in just fine. You could also easily secure them with some wood glue if necessary. I oiled the wood with mineral oil at the manufacturer's recommendation, and it's beautiful; while you could certainly paint this piece, it looks fantastic on its own. And hey, no more problems with shelves collapsing or broken dishware. I expect to keep this around for a very long time.

Don't expect IKEA level quality, or even Target! The wood is lovely, but the fittings don't quite fit they are all approximate. That means the frame is a little wobbly even after every screw is completely tightened. Also, the manufacturer expects you to fasten the wood top and bottom shelf to the frame with screws, but has not drilled any holes for the screws to screw into. That means that instead of assembling with only a screwdriver, I am now going to need to find measuring tape, pencil, an electric drill, and time when someone else can watch my kids, so I can use the drill without anyone being in danger. That is significantly more work than I was anticipating.

Also, it comes with an allen wrench, and no reason to use it. Why include it? It's even listed on the fittings page.

It will be a lovely bookcase, when it's finally assembled.

I purchased two of these shelves and they didn't disappoint. The glass in substantial and nicely curved in the front. The chrome brackets are decorate but not too much. The price was good and I would recommend without hesitation.

So I bought this for our bathroom which is very small, but its the main bathroom. So we have this fancy toilet that flushes with a button on top of the tank. So now there is no where to put my kleenx box. I get the shelf because it is so small. BUT I can bearly put the kleenex box on it. too shallow!!! why? why so shallow? thats my only problem. looks great, went in easy!

Wire World 20-Inch Under Shelf Basket, White

I bought this because my only other option was the Schulte 20" Under Shelf Basket that was over $20 ea. It turned out to be a great buy! The shelf is as sturdy as the Schulte and 1/3 the price. I use it to utilize the space I have now that I use a flat panel instead of a CRT monitor. My desk has a hutch over the monitor that the flat panel cannot fill. So I hung this in the space beneath the upper book shelf there and recovered the space. Now I can store the tape dispensor, stapler, and the negative convertor for my scanner. The open squares of the basket allow me to hang scissors in easy reach too. It goes a long way toward organizing the desk area. (See customer pics)

I have noticed since Wire World has started selling on Amazon all the Shulte under shelf baskets are coming down in price. This size has come down nearly half the price. Competition is GOOD!

This organizer is the perfect size for all my daughter's books and odds and ends. I had low expectations for quality since I have bought this company's items before, and this product did not dissappoint. But I knew what I was getting and for the price I am content. I recently came to the conclusion that I have too much stuff! Now I am organized!! These cabinets look great, holds lots of stuff and were easy to put together after the first one. I kept forgetting to put the laminate side of each piece facing up, it took half an hour. The second piece took 15 minutes (again I got one piece upside down)and the third one I did in 7 minutes! The bookcase was moderately difficult to put together. Finish was excellent. Fit was fair. I recommend a carpenter's square to insure squareness when attaching the back. Overall strength is okay for miscellaneous items (but not heavy items like books). I'm not a fan of cam-lock fasteners and this one has many. Overall, if you have a good flat area to put this together and fair mechanical skills you should not have a problem. By the way, the value I am talking about is from another superstore site where you can get the shipping for free to your local store which makes this an excellent buy.

I found this in Walmart on rollback for $25 and it was originally $29. The instructions are not very clear and you are able to easily make mistakes trying to build it. When I was finally finished building it correctly, I found out why there is strap screwed to the top back of the shelf. This shelf is not stable. If you put this shelf in a high traffic areas, I recommend you screw the strap to the wall as instructed. It is not worth more than $25 and it is not solid wood.

But on a positive note, it does organize all the stuff I had laying around my room. The bookshelf has a nice natural look that suits anywhere. I used the deep adjustable shelves to display my doll collection and the rest holds my manga collection.

This is a great bookshelf, but you have to follow the instructions carefully. I almost assembled it backward. Thankfully, I was cautious while assembling it together.

I highly recommend this product. Once you adorn it with skulls, pentagrams, wiccan supplies and books, it becomes a nice little wiccan shelf... very gothic!

I don't know why anyone would buy this bookcase for this price. You can buy it from Walmart for $25. It's not worth this much, it's made out of mdf, not wood. I have one I purchased about 7 years ago for 19, that I'm looking at right now. It's good for the value, if you pay the right price. I was looking to purchase a few for the classroom I'm moving to this fall, as it has no storage, but I would not pay this price. Last week, this same bookcase was on sale on this website for 10.84, but when you clicked to order, shipping costs were over $100. Something is really messed up with this company. I wouldn't trust them.
