First the dimensions which, annoyingly, are not provided by Amazon: W 10.25" D 10.25" H 7" under shelf clearance 6".

This unit is not very thoughtfully designed. If you are using it in below-the-counter cabinets there should be no problem, but in the narrower, above-the-counter cabinets you are likely to run into a problem. Either one of the vertical supports interferes with a hinge, or if you are using it on a removable shelf, then the required screws will be close to the shelf edge and prone to brake out.

In the case of the former, I was able to get around this by unscrewing the lower hinge allowing me to fit the shelf vertical support behind the hinge. However this created a second problem: the shelf feet faced the wrong way and interfered, preventing the shelf from being mounted against the wall. This is essentially the same problem you encounter on a removable shelf. I solved this by breaking the feet loose, reversing them, and crimping them in place. (Incidentally, in every installation you will need to anchor the feet with screws to secure the shelf and keep it from tipping as weight is added to it. These screws are required but not included; a further example of product sloppiness. Once anchored the shelf is sturdy enough to support any load you are likely to place on it.)

In the end the modified shelves worked well. They have greater storage room below the shelf then with most similar cabinet shelves and there was no fourth vertical member to get in the way as with most units. I am satisfied, but more thought put into the design could have made installation much easier and elevated the problems I faced. Also I would have preferred an option for white.

It is a good space saver and I am pleased with this purchase. Only thing I would change is if it was a little bigger,

This is a nice little cabinet and fits the small space in the bathroom where it is placed. It was easy to put together, but the glass in the door was broken when we got it even though it was packaged well. Haven't yet contacted Amazon about a replacement glass and will update review after I do.

We have a fair amount of Sauder furniture, and are generally happy with it.

This is the next step up. It assembles in almost exactly the same way, with similar hardware of slightly higher quality.

The wood is the real difference. It looks and feels more solid, and the back pieces are far more substantial. Sauder gives you a thin sheet and nails. This has a thin board with pre-drilled screws.

We will be looking to this brand when we need new bookshelves and stuff in the future.

I got 2 of these and love them. I put large German beer mugs on them and it fits perfect. It was hard to find ones that had a big enough platform to fit a 4-5 inch wide mug. But these are perfect.

These are beautiful. We ordered two for our focal wall. They are constructed very well and look so much better than the pictures above. Only one suggestion; the standard screws aren't very heavy duty. If you're drilling into studs, I suggest picking up your own. Even after adjusting my torque settings on my drill, I still managed to break off two. Buy your own ahead of time. Other than that, these are amazing!

Rubbermaid Configurations Sliding Wire Basket

Ordered the deluxe 4-8' closet system and several accessories for both me and my husband's 8' closets. I ordered just one sliding wire basket for myself to see how it was (it was a little pricey). This is a big basket: 23.5" wide and 7.25" high. Because it is 18" deep, it extends past the 12" shelves. I personally had a difficult time installing the basket. It installs the same way as the sliding pants racks, which I really had a hard time installing. Even my husband complained and he's pretty handy. Just read the instructions carefully, and keep a screwdriver within arm's reach once you start inserting the brackets into the uprights. However, once installed, the sliding wire basket is wonderful. It glides in and out and holds a lot of stuff. The whole Rubbermaid Configurations closet system is affordable, attractive, and for the most part simple to install. I highly recommend all of it.

This is a great basket that holds a lot and is extremely sturdy. The glide is as smooth as could be wished for -far nicer than I expected from a do-it-yourself closet-in-a-box system.

I agree with other reviewers that this piece is tricky to install. The rest of the Rubbermaid Configurations family of products is super-easy to install, which makes the complexity and difficulty of installing this one item a bit surprising.

Also surprising (as another reviewer noted) is the price. I purchased 2 full closet kits for 49.99 each (Gold Box special). Paying the same price for one drawer that you pay for the entire closet unit does indeed seem ridiculous.

As a sturdy, well-built drawer, this item shouldn't necessarily be cheap. But the price is too high relative to the overall cost of the closet. $100 for a couple drawers is going to match or exceed the price of just about any closet kit you can buy here on Amazon -that just doesn't add up, so to speak.

One final note: There is another drawer you can get for the Configurations system. It's a soft-sided "canvas sliding basket" that costs far less ($15-20 for the medium or $25-30 for the large). It's far less sturdy and doesn't glide nicely at all. It may do for less regular use, such as a winter storage closet, attic, basement, or other such storage area. But for everyday use (e.g., bedroom or bathroom closet), the wire basket is the way to go. It will stand up to repeated regular use.

The basket itself is great and huge it holds a ton of clothes/socks/whatever. Setup of the basket installing the arms which it mounts with took maybe 3 minutes per basket (I bought 2 of them). They slide/glide in and out perfectly and make the closet look very professional. I ordered this with the 8 foot Rubbermaid Configurations kit. The entire kit cost me $119 yet these baskets were $50 each? I paid $100 for 2 basket accessories yet the entire closet kit itself only cost $119? Something doesn't seem right.

Anyway, these baskets are awesome and the configurations closet system + these baskets make a great replacement for a dresser.

I ordered these drawers because I was re-organizing my closet and wanted to get the most of my space, while also leaving the option for re-organizing or changing the way the closet is structured in a couple of years or as my space needs evolve. I love that with this type of system (rubbermaid) I can constantly change/add/subtract elements to my closet. I did not go with a set kit, but purchased items at my local hardware store and customized it with online components.

Pros:

-These were free to ship on amazon, were 8 dollars less online than in the store! Score!

-They shipped FAST! I got them a day ahead of schedule.

-THe look sort of small, but I combined my sock/bra/sports bra/underwear/swimsuit drawers all into ONE sliding drawer!

-They just look so nice and uniform when all lined up.

-The sliding mechanism is really nice and smooth.

-They come in modern titanium color...for a price.

-You can fit a lot of drawers in a small space, each takes up 8 inches on your mounting brackets.

Cons:

-Although the packaging was perfect, 1/3 drawers I ordered had some terrible bending in the basket and looked pretty crunched out of the box, I was able to straighten it myself thankfully.

-The screws that hold the brackets to the sliding mechanism are very small and hard to handle, I spent a few minutes just trying to get the position right that would allow tehm to line up and kept dropping the tiny screws repeatedly.

-THere are no directions telling you how far apart to place the hanging wall mounts that you must have to mount these ( mount brackets 24 inches apartI clicked my basket in and then screwed the brackets into my wall to avoid any mistakes)

-There is no top for the top of the highest drawer, you have to buy more brackets and shelving unless you want it open.

-They seem sort of overpriced, but I am really enjoying them so far

I bought these to divide up the space on my long wire shelving to be able to stack clothing higher and prevent the toppled mess. I have the Rubbermaid configurations shelving system. This fits so/so and is a bit wobbly. Since our shelving is the approximate height of the dividers, that provided a bit more stability but it was difficult to fit the divider in this way. Also the way the dividers "hook" on or under the shelves was notcompatible and is wobbly because you can only hook either the front or back sides with the rubbermaid wire shelves. Since there are not many products out here that will divide a wire shelf I've made it work but I probably would not buy these again.

I bought these to organize my closet. The instructions say that you only have to attach the front of the divider to the shelf. I don't know how they expected these to stay in place with that kind of system. However, I was able to stretch the sides a little bit in order to hook the back to the shelves, that way they are more secured. The problem is that I have looked around everywhere and can't find any other dividers. So, these will have to do until something better comes around

5/18/2011 piece of @#*% I bought some more thinking that I would do the same and try to adjust them. This time they broke. Going right back with the pieces that broke in a ziplog bag. I have also downgraded the stars from 2 to 1

I purchased the wire shelf dividers for my grand children's closets, the complany failed to describe what diameter the ends would snap on to. Therefore they did not fit their closets, the wire shelf ends were too fat. I was going to send them back when I realized I would have spent the same amount in the return as in the purchase so I decided to keep them because they fit on my wire shelves in my closet. So I had to search for other wire dividers and found them at Lillian Vernon and had to spend a whole lot more then $20.00. End of story I will not buy anything unless it is sent through Amazon itself and with free shipping!

I searched all over the city and online for organizers like this and almost gave up. But one day I searched again and they popped up on Amazon. I love these dividers. They are inexpensive but work great. My sweaters kept sliding all over the shelves ending up in lopsided piles until I got these dividers. They attach easily and stay in place.

I have a standard closet setup. These dividers do not fit in any way, shape or form. Two of the dividers were broken when unpacked. After trying to install, the ends of several of the dividers broke off. They were not mishandled or forced. This is a very shoddy product.

Ordering any furniture on line is a risk but this was worth the gamble! The wood matches Polk's cherry-wood speakers to a TEE! There is wire management on the rear and the glass is nicely beveled. It is so sturdy that we were able to place and wire all of our components then pick it up and slide into the wall. The Mrs was very, very happy with how it looks.

Solid clever construction (glass sandwiched between wood). The wood is particle board or press board (you can see it in the holes) but it looks really good. Very sturdy.

I balked at the shipping cost but for the price of the stand; total price was fine and definitely worth it.

VERY well packed. The box had some dings/digs in it but everything inside had solid styrofoam and cloth; glass edges had plastic protectors.

Directions were easy to read, parts were packaged individually and in order of use.

This piece looks very good. I especially like that it is not deep (front to back) and makes my large room look larger. I also like the height of the shelves and the total piececan fit larger center speakers (and other equipment). Looks identical to the pic. Now the badhad a defective part (back support) which required contacting the company three times (they sent the wrong piece) and sending them pics of the piece. The people were nice but it took two weeks to resolve while the stand sat there unfinished in my family room. It was originally inspected (sticker), but not competently.

I just purchased the Muscle Rack "2300 Series" which appears to be much the same as this model. Don't waste your time. It is humanly impossible to assemble this unit. Literally every. Single. Place. that a tab is supposed to fit into a slot, the tab is too big. You end up trying to tap it in with a hammer, and in the process end up bending the metal pieces all out of shape, making matters worse. At one point I dropped the hammer I was using for this onto one of the lower shelves I had gotten somewhat together, and it punched a hole right through the particle board, which appears to be about one grade above cardboard. Save yourself hours of aggravation by buying literally anything else, including a gun to shoot yourself in the foot with, as even that would still yield more utility and enjoyment than this shelving unit.

I bought this product from Home Depot three years ago. Within a month, the particle board shelves were sagging (with barely any weight applied!!). The only thing it holds now are cleaning supplies and extra linen.

I actually bought this product from Lowes during their black friday sale. It cost me roughly $45 for the shelving unit. It is said to hold 800 pounds per shelf. I thought it would save me some money rather then building my own. Boy was I wrong. Within a month the shelves were sagging with maybe 30 pounds of weight on them. The shelf that had about six 1 gallon paint cans half full looked like it was going to break. I am having to replace the particle board shelves they add.

They either need better quality shelves that can hold the weight or add a center beam to keep the shelf from warping. I would stay away from this product.

I bought one of these racks and had it set up in about 15 minutes. Yes, the parts fit tight, but that better than a sloppy fit that wobbles later. The pins went in part way and I pushed them down the rest of the slot, gently with my foot. When done they look great. No tools needed, but you may want to use a rubber hammer or board to seat in the crosspieces properly.

I have 4 of these units now and plan to pickup more. I have found them quite simple to put together with nothing more than an old metal pipe wrench to bang the pieces into place (probably should have used a proper mallet!). Some of the particle board shelves were tight and I had to swap them around here and there to make them fit but nothing extreme. The only thing I can think to mention is the nice depth on these. Seems a lot of shelving units I looked at were somewhat shallow.

In researching my purchase of an inexpensive TV console, the most common complaints I read of were of items damaged in transit and of materials that were incorrectly made in the factory (pre-drilled holes not lining up correctly, missing screws, etc).

I am happy to say that my Techcraft CRE48B console had neither of these problems. It was delivered in a box that was sturdy, with exterior corner protection, and everything inside it was very well packed and protected by Styrofoam and sheets of plastic.

The exterior pieces are quite heavy and have a beautiful glossy smooth black finish which is flawless. The interior pieces are made of a lighter but sturdy particle board painted a mat black. The glass is tempered and clear and was fit perfectly in the doors. The back cover is very sturdy compressed cardboard with large openings for all the cords to fit though, and attaches with screws, not nails. I should note there is a fifth leg which projects from the middle near the back of the unit which is not visible in the product image.

It took me about 2 hours to put it together by myself, working very carefully. There were no missing pieces (and no extra pieces). The instructions are mostly images only, but all the larger pieces are labeled with stickers and the smaller pieces are represented with 1:1 scale drawings. I had no difficulty understanding the directions. Assembly requires a Phillips screwdriver (smaller and larger heads). Everything fit together just right and when complete it feels very solid.

Overall I am very pleased with this item, I consider it to be a very good value. The only issue I have with it is that even after adjustment, one door is just a tiny bit off level, but that's a flaw I'm willing to accept in an item in this price range.

They do a great job mixing quality wood that's visible and low quality wood (to keep costs down) in all parts that aren't visible.

This stands looks really nice but it isn't very practical. The mesh center cabinet meant for your center speaker is far too small to fit the majority of center channel speakers. The side cabinets aren't wide enough to fit the larger receivers.

This is still a quality sturdy stand but make sure if you need it to hold your components that it will fit them properly.

I bought the Techcraft Cre48B AV stand to sit under my new wall-mounted Samsung LN52A650 LCD TV to hold my home theater equipment and I will say it looks absolutely great doing that. I did have the TV on the stand for a few days as I waited for my TV mounting bracket to arrive from Amazon and it seemed to hold the additional weight without any problem. Delivery was quick for such a big item, five days from ordering to delivery. I held my breath taking all of the pieces out of the box since I have heard nightmare stories about shipping casualties with furniture items. Once I removed the glass door panels and they were intact, I breathed a sigh of relief and started the task of assembling the stand. It is a little intimidating at first, like any furniture of this nature. But once you get a feel for it, it moves right along. The directions call for a Phillips head screwdriver and hammer, but I didn't find a need for the hammer at all. The stand uses a series of cam locks and posts to tighten the panels together. This is where I have to deduct a star from an otherwise good product. The posts screw into predrilled pilot holes. No problem until I reach one particular pilot hole which is drilled far to large to allow the post to be screwed in. You can't just move the post and screw it in elsewhere, because the corresponding cam requires it to be lined up perfectly. This particular cam/post was vitally important since it held the side panel in place. So essentially I was in a bind due to poor craftmanship. If it had been a store purchase, I would have returned it for a replacement. but being mail order and being a very heavy item to boot, I decided to improvise and glued the post in with epoxy and waited until the next day to complete the stand. The epoxy worked well and assembly went smoothly after that. Overall, not counting the misdrilled hole fiasco, it took me about an hour and fifteen minutes to complete. My one other complaint is that they could have included one or two extra cams since they are easy to strip, so be careful with them. Overall, I would buy the product again, but Techcraft may want to assess their quality control when issues like mine are happening.

Just received this stand and put it together this week. I've been on the lookout for a great stand at a great price for a few months now and finally settled on this one after exhaustive researching. The price dropped to $265 + Free shipping and I just couldn't pass that up!

First things first, this baby weights A LOT! I still can't believe they shipped it for free. I was a little intimidated after opening the box and seeing all the parts. But after taking a deep breath, laying everything out nicely and browsing the instructions briefly it wasn't bad at all and everything made sense. I almost had a heart attack when I thought one of the support feet were missing but a quick check back into the box with tons of wrapping and foam to keep the parts safe and I found it. I didn't time myself but I'm thinking maybe a good 60 to 90 minutes putting this one together is about right. I love the color and finish on this. While it is black it almost has a dark brown feel about the color which is perfect for my setup. While some have made mention of the center area which isn't big enough for a normal/standard center channel it wasn't a problem for me. Even though mine would easily fit as I have the Sony HTIS-100 I chose to set it on top anyways. The two storage areas on either side aren't huge but they have adjustable shelves and are the right size for standard components and with the windows you shouldn't have any problems with the remotes. I'm at a point now where I don't feel the need to display all my components and would rather focus on the TV itself and this stand is perfect for that. It also sits at just the right height to accentuate viewing of my 52" Sony XBR9 whereas my last stand sat rather low. This one is perfect.

Overall I'm very impressed with this item. Great quality construction, fairly easy to put together, great price and incredibly good looks you really can't go wrong. I also liked that with the doors you have the capability to mount them on either side for opening depending on your setup. A real nice touch for flexibility. Overall I'm VERY happy with this product and would highly recommend it to anyone with a 42 to 55" TV. Thanks!
